Ride the Cyclone Kids and The Bus
as in: the bus they have to take to different shows
We got Father Marcus behind the wheel ✌️✌️
Y’all know that kinda old TikTok where those kids are chanting “DADDY’S MONEY” at this rich-looking bus?? That’s them
THIS TIKTOK
THEM WHEN THEY SEE A NICER BUS
Okay, so Ocean? HORRIBLE car sickness
She’s fine for the first twenty minutes, but half an hour in, you can find her in the front seat like
Tumblr media
She doesn’t talk that much during bus rides because she’s doing her best not to vomit everywhere
Everyone else is just vibing
The day before the trip, they have some kind of competition to see who gets playlist rights for the ride
EVERYONE wants to win that right
Mischa personally puts together a FOUR DAY MIXTAPE for his playlist
(They aren’t even in the bus for that long)
But he’s playing the most OBNOXIOUS dubstep and incomprehensible rap possible
You simply cannot stop his party. Don’t even try.
Noel’s playlist is a lot of classical and French music, with some Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, and Dolly Parton thrown in there
Ricky’s playlist is mostly songs from video game soundtracks (LOTS of Pokémon, basically the WHOLE Undertale album, some Mario and Minecraft, stuff like that). Also probably some video game fan songs
Imagine stopping at red light next to a school bus full of choir kids and To The Bone by JT Music is blasting through the windows
Constance’s playlist is mostly pop. Probably has a bunch of AJR songs on it. Also Taylor Swift
Penny’s playlist is this mix of all different genres. It’ll go from the Hand Jive from Grease, to Hello by Adele, to Luke Bryan’s Country Girl????
Ocean’s playlist is a lot of show tunes, with some other genres splashed in there. Probably has Penelope Scott’s WHOLE ALBUM crammed on hers
Noel tries to sleep, but it’s usually too loud
He’ll rest his head against the window, and the bus goes over one (1) bump, and his head is smashed on the glass
He gets so embarrassed
Constance INSISTS that they play car games to pass the time
There’s Fortunately/Unfortunately!
Constance: Fortunately, I discovered that I have super strength!
Noel: Unfortunately, you have cancer
Constance: 😧
Or they’ll play that Alphabet Game where you have a category and have to come up with a word in that category from the last letter of the word that was said before your turn
Mischa: Dog!
Ricky, signing: Goat!
Noel: Turtle!
Penny: Emu!
Constance: Unicorn!
Ocean, piping up from her seat in the front: Unicorn isn’t a real animal
Penny ALWAYS calls out the cows she sees on the side of the road
She also likes to stick her head out the window whenever she gets the chance
Mischa gets Hereditary flashbacks because of this and hovers over her shoulder like a worried mother to make sure she won’t get hurt somehow
Ricky likes to just gaze out the window sometimes and admire the scenery while making scenarios in his head
Mischa is constantly switching spots and usually goes flying down the aisle because of it
Meanwhile, Ocean has gone from doubled over with her head in her hands, to curled up on the seat in the fetal position
She is SUFFERING
She’s a MESS, but somehow the moment they get to their destination, she’s perfectly fine?? It’s So Jarring
This video but it’s the Cyclone kids
In order: Ricky, Ocean, Penny, Constance, Noel, Mischa

SEXYY RED - "POUND TOWN"
youtube
They were gonna find out anyway...
[5.69]
Crystal Leww: When I was in high school, I went over to a friend's house to work on a school project together, and she put on "Ms. New Booty" by Bubba Sparxxx. As teenagers, we were absolutely shrieking at that chorus, just like jumping up and down, hyped up on 7-11 Big Gulp soda. It is still one of the most viscerally funny, goofiest, most unserious things I've ever heard in music. I hope that feeling that I bottled up and hold dear to my heart even today is what what teens today felt the first time they heard "my coochie pink, my bootyhole brown!" [8]
Joshua Minsoo Kim: It was the pound heard 'round the town, and Sexyy Red became an instant star. It's easy to see why: she's having a total blast here while rapping with minimal effort, in a regular talking cadence. She lets out a laugh or two, throws in casual ad-libs, and says some of the most memorable lines of the year. Kanye talking about bleached assholes was always unrelatable; finally, a bootyhole song for the people. [7]
Ian Mathers: Look, I enjoy my trips to Pound Town as much as the next person, I just have some questions about how the Pound Town tourism board is spending their budget. [5]
Nortey Dowuona: This has been Sexyy Red's year, as last year was GloRilla's year, as last year was Doja Cat's year, as last year was Megan Thee Stallion's year, as last year was Cardi B's year... can we just let them all share the next year? I'm really irritated by the way we hype up a new femme rapper for a year, praise them to the roof and back, then give up on them afterwards (remember Chika? Remember Saweetie? Remember Free JT? Remember Maliibu Miitch? Remember Treety? Remember Dreezy?) We let too many mid male rappers get the chance to drop and hog the discourse with either praise or condemnation and seem to forget that women rappers are just as diversely populated and are good as hell. (REMEMBER CUPCAKKE!!!??) I can't even be too positive about this song cuz I know what happened to literally everybody who we were like, "they so good omg we love them, twerking on the runway" -- not doing that shit this year. All you folks pissed about Yachty making Tame Impala Feeding Music use that anger to engage with the next Rapsody album instead. And "Hellcats SRTs" is the actual best song Sexyy Red has ever done, but it's not as memeable. Fuck this. [9]
Alfred Soto: Wary of stanning for female rap artists who wield vulgarity like an épée -- the fandom, depending on its expression, can look an awful lot like exoticizing -- I resisted Sexyy Red. Her conversational tone reminded me what I admire about the Everyperson anonymity of dance singers from Shannon and Bernard Sumner to Katy B and Peggy Gou. I've accepted "Pound Town." Now, about her embrace of Trump... [7]
Taylor Alatorre: "TRUMP TO CITY: DROP DEAD" [2]
Katherine St Asaph: Please note as you read this score that for our 2023 return, we have also re-curved the rating scale, and the YouTube comments are a [-10]. [0]
Leah Isobel: "Pound Town" works wonders as a comedy bit and as an introduction to Sexyy Red's charismatic delivery -- the way she tosses off That One Line and then audibly starts giggling into the next is star power personified. I'm not sure it functions as well as a song as it does a meme, but that's what "SkeeYee" is for. [6]
Michelle Myers: Sexyy Red has better comedic timing than most professional comics. On "Pound Town," she's playful and winky, delivering unhinged lines about scouting Miami for hoochie daddies and exposing her cheating man (love u baby!). [7]
Wayne Weizhen Zhang: "My coochie pink, my booty-hole brown" was the first line that made me laugh out loud. The rest of "Pound Town" is a treasure trove of deadpan punchlines, from the withering delivery of "I'm out here in Miami," to the feigned imperative of "come suck a bitch toes," to the fourth wall breaking of "I can't say his name, 'cause he be cheating." The Nicki remix, for what it's worth, is an [8]. [7]
Will Adams: Listening to a song shouldn't make me want to furiously smash Logic's nudge function to get the vocal to actually align to the beat. [2]
Jeffrey Brister: Somewhat less...technically complex than "WAP," but I value directness. There's a lot to be said about clever wordplay and all the other literary techniques you want to reference, but sometimes you just need to hear "come suck a bitch toes" and appreciate the simple beauty of being insanely and candidly horny. [7]
Thomas Inskeep: I've been known to enjoy filth, but you've gotta give me something to latch onto. Filth for the sake of filth is just sad. 2 Live Crew, for instance, were filthy, but they at least sounded like they were having fun. John Waters of course glorified in filth in his early work, and made it art. There's no fun or art in "Pound Town"; Sexyy Red just sounds bored and uninspired, like she's just waiting for this to catch on online so she can start cashing checks. I hope she invests well. [0]
Jacob Sujin Kuppermann: Obnoxious! [8]
Jonathan Bradley: During his career peak, even while he was claiming to be the best alive, Jay-Z would often demur about whether he was actually a rapper. He didn't write anything down; he was a businessman; he would retire any minute now. This disengagement with the expectations of art, the notion that creativity might call someone to account and absorb them into a guild with traditions and limitations, has been resisted by other rappers since: Lil B, for instance, switching from Bay Area sneaker raps to rambling psychedelia or such MCs as Blueface or Teejayx6 severing the links between beat and flow. On "Pound Town," Sexyy Red reminds me of how Chicago drill icon Katie Got Bandz mumbled and smirked through her way through her rhymes, as if she were too dangerous to bother trying to be a rapper. Sexyy Red mumbles here, and cuts her lines off into short, simply rhymed taunts, as if she's too hot or maybe too horny to rap properly. She collapses into a giggle half way through some of these missives, switches to a playful sing-song for others, and breezily apologizes for almost giving away a man who's been sneaking around with her ("I love you baby!"). Despite the brooding piano-led beat, which approaches hook-ups the way Nas did paranoia home invasion in "Shoot Em 'Up," it's fun! Sexyy Red does what she wants; why would she bother putting in the effort of rapping properly? And even if "Pound Town" is more languid and less urgently anarchic than "Born By the River," and perhaps less insistent than "SkeeYee," it still has an important message about which parts of Sexyy Red are pink and which parts are brown. [8]
Brad Shoup: The textbook definition of "it ain't that deep". [8]

ok hi! pinned post time, since I'm finally using this blog a bit!
I'm Jack (or JT, or Jackalope) and I've been writing for most of my life but I really haven't shared much yet. hoping to change that soon, though! hence this blog. :]
I have WAY too many ideas and WIPs to list 'em all, but here are a few of the writing projects I am currently focusing on...
A Tale Of Two Spies (And Some Other People) (Many Of Whom Are Also Spies)
...or ATOTS(ASOP)(MOWAAS) for short, lmao. It's the first fanfic I ever started writing; I was lowkey too intimidated to try writing fanfic for a long time, but this idea sank its teeth into me and I had to give it a shot. It's an alternate version of the Tin Can Brothers' epic musical Spies Are Forever. I've been working on it for a good while now and it has ballooned into quite a massive undertaking because I am... deranged. <3
Part one, The World's Greatest Spies, is a prequel. It will cover the span of time & our favorite agents' changing relationship from their first meeting to the beginning of the musical. I have MOST of it outlined, and I'm really having a lot of fun with it!!!
111 Waylon
Another fanfic, but this one is for Starkid's Hatchetfield universe! It's heavily inspired by I The Mighty's song "111 Winchester."
111 Waylon is just about fully outlined with 12 chapters, and it will be much shorter and quicker to write than ATOTS, lol. I'm actually going to start writing the first draft very soon! (like... tomorrow. 👁)
This story is about the night some of the popular teens from Hatchetfield High decided to hang out at an old creepy house that definitely isn't haunted and definitely isn't dangerous. Everything is gonna be fine, no need to worry. <3
The Necromancer & The Musician
This is an original work! It also doesn't have a real title yet, even though I've been working on it for almost a year lmao. help. I've done SO MUCH worldbuilding, including designing an entire glyph alphabet for my sneaky secretive necromancers to write all their sneaky secrets in, and I've been having an absolute blast with it all.
The characters in this story mean the world to me, especially the two leads: Zadock Severine (the antisocial necromancer who is Perfectly Content with their life as it is, thankyouverymuch) and Everett Flair (the overly friendly musician who likes to wander and is always on the look for his next fun experience). The two are brought together through the meddling of the nosy god Death (who gave Zadock their magic and is a little too invested in their social life) and become unlikely traveling companions. Oh, and they're both trans and aromantic. 😎
If you'd like to know more about my stories, feel free to send me some asks about 'em!
No guarantees I'll answer every question (gotta keep some things to myself! 😘) but I'd love to share what I can.

Rule: Tag 10 people you want to get to know better
Tagged by @realitysperception
Relationship status: Married (queer and poly)
Favourite colour: Purple (but I'm also fond of red)
Something I want right now: Lower cost of living, but if I have to pick something mundane that I can conceivably get: cinnamon sugar fry bread from the local Native-owned restaurant. It's addictively delicious. Unfortunately, it's Passover so no grains.
Song stuck in my head: "Don't Hold Your Breath" - JT Music (a song about Subnautica)
Three favourite foods: Hard to choose dishes, so I'll pick ingredients: hot sauce, cheese, potatoes
Last song I listened to: "Sign of Life" - Motionless In White
Last thing I googled: "Google Flights" for work (I am not an accountant, but I do accounting adjacent work)
Dream Trip: Traveling gives me anxiety, but I'd like to go back to Slovenija for another round of tasty treats at Sladka Istra though. Tam je vse tako okusno. I went years ago and had a blast buying candy.
Bonus! If you had the opportunity to [safely] become a cyborg via body upgrades, would you take it?: Yeah, I'd like my legs to not hurt constantly, so I'll take robot legs.
Tags: I feel weird tagging people so please feel free to say I tagged you if you wanted to give it ago.

Random headcanons of my three gacha characters !
Bunii / weirdcore oc:
Tumblr media
bunii uses they/them, fae/faem and xe/xem or address xemself in the third person. they are aro ace.
they are also VERY TALL. fae are about 9 feet tall
bunii may look cute but fae actually has a super deep voice, plus they are also a menace-
bunii's first language and common language is Japanese, so expect them to start speaking Japanese randomly to mess with you (if you don't speak it)
fae can become sinister, very quickly. so proceed with caution.
bunii makes all of xier clothes, since fae knows their exact size
bunii has a huge collection of sanrio plushies, and other stuff. their house has a lot of pastels too
their house has a cottagecore look to jt on the outside
only way to meet them is you see them in your dreams, by seeing the house in your dreams. you should find yourself in a very isolated flower meadow, with a cottage in the distance. it looks small but on the inside it is much bigger !
bunii enjoys guests, so you should be fine. don't worry, xe understands english
Elise:
Tumblr media
elise can speak French and English
she uses she/her and she is bisexual
she has cursive handwriting, very fancy
she lives in a castle on a hill, it is huge and has a few maids and butlers
elise is a very polite woman, she speaks formally and uses her manners whenever she can. she also loves to dance, especially dances that involve a second partner ;)
another hobby is gardening, as her favourite part of her castle is her huge garden, filled with every flower imaginable
elise likes a lot of music, she just enjoys whatever is catchy, hence why her playlist has a lot of different genres. Top one would be musicals
her castle is quite gothic or dark academia like themed, it's very cozy
elise wears either dresses or suits most days because fuck gender roles-
she is around 5'9 height wise
Anna:
Tumblr media
anna uses she/they pronouns and she is pansexual
she flirts with anyone for fun or to mess with people
their closet is filled with black clothing
so much black that you can't even see inside of the closet wtf
but i'd steal her closet tbh
they are a very outgoing person and very chilled out
though always has random outbursts of energy
does blast her music to full volume on weekends
has had the police come and tell them to turn it down lmao
she turns it down for like a minute before slowly turning it back up haha. listens to a bunch of emo bands, rock, indie-
she's the type of person you would invite because they make everything fun
another menace-
but not as bad as bunii
she is 5'5 in height-
though they do not care
they love themself
wish i had her self confidence dndndj
she is Australian like me-
except she lives in the city, i do not- same state though lol

But I love how uninhibited he is here. I don't think we'll get such an honest interview out of him ever again. His older interviews were a blast 😂 // you all do realize he was still giving answers that he thought people wanted him to give. They weren’t 100% honest. As to not knowing what it feels like to find “the one”, that was made up… he wanted to marry Jessica Biel. They talked about it a lot and were planning on it til his mom told him they were too young, to wait. He did and Jessica didn’t want to wait & we all know what happened then. So he did feel those feelings of finding “the one” it just didn’t work out cuz he put it off til later which never came. And he and Jenny also talked of marriage as well. Chris just tells you what he wants you to think about him in interviews, he always has. He’s not nearly as open now but he never really was 100% telling you everything. He’s in the business of pretending and he’s good at doing that with these interviews to make you believe it’s all true. //
Anon, you talk like you know Chris personally. Specifically with regards to the details about Jessica and Chris's mother. Do you have any inside info? Anyway, I'm glad he didn't marry her. She wouldn't have vaccinated their kids and that's a huge red flag. Especially now in covid times.
I do feel a little bad for her though? She's doing promo rounds for her Hulu show (which is getting slammed although her performance is being praised) and they keep asking her about JT. It's like she can never escape his shadow. It sucks.
It seems like she’s always living in his shadow. When I saw he had a small role in her new show I literally rolled my eyes. It’s like she can never have anything on her own. Even when she was nominated for a Golden Globe a few years back, he dropped the first single from his new album right before the awards and his song was the music used on the red carpet and a lot of interviewers kept pivoting away from her and her nomination that night to him and his upcoming album. It’s clear they do support each other and cheer each other on, but it’s annoying that it seems like she can never have a moment to herself without him intruding on it. And I don’t know them. Maybe she’s okay with it and likes it that way, but it would be nice to see her flourish on her own without mention of JT 🤷‍♀️🦎

I don't know if anybody else ever gets that feeling after a concert of missing the experience that they just had. I'm feeling that right now that like wow that was so awesome and I loved that and like I danced my little butt off. I sang along to all the songs I was motion to come up towards the stage when people started going up towards the stage by one of the backup singers because I was feeling like I shouldn't and then he was like no do it. But I had it two nights in a row so I feel like I'm missing an even more.
Last night one of the ladies sitting next to us said she saw us the night before and I asked if she really did. Her answer was yeah. I asked why you weren't going to Tanglewood and then I saw you cried during only one. And then I was like oh you really did see me. Crazy small world she lives like three towns over from me. If her kids continue to go to public school, it's one of the three towns that goes to middle and high school with the town that my niece and nephew live in. We then realized that I met her 4 years ago at Tanglewood and she was one of the people who helped me get up to the front to get my autographs and selfie before she got her own kid to get a picture. When I thought she was who I thought she was, I started to tell a story that she had told me that night about when she got married and she was freaking out because 4 years later I remember this story and we're meeting again. The cherry on top was her brother-in-law lives on my street!!! She asked me where my tickets were for the Boston show in August and they told her I wasn't sure and I couldn't get any service inside the venue so I couldn't look. Then I was just thinking about it and I looked it up and saw I was in section 102 and I know this is going to sound so very stupid but for a second I was upset that I wasn't going to be like in the first of the sections. Usually the floor seats. If you will our sections like one, two, three or ABC and then the next section start with 100 and then the next section's upper in the 200s. This is a new venue in Boston like behind Fenway so I have no clue what the seating looks like. I just went on the website to kind of see if I can find the seating chart and section 102 is the first section in the center. And I'm sitting in row C. And I know this probably I'm all sounds so stupid but I'm so excited. That feeling when you get to like vibe with the singer and the backup singers and the band it's just like amazing. Last night my friend and I were helping people over our seat so they could go up front towards the stage when people were doing that. I was having them go in front of me because I want everybody to have the feeling that I have. I want to share that with everybody. After these two nights I feel like the JT community is really kind of cool. People were awesome about our shirts. People were taking to us and making friends and it just felt really good. I wish I wasn't working Monday so I could go to Tanglewood.
Honestly I know it sounds excessive but I can't describe the feeling I get during these concerts. Or the times I wanted to do things I could never take back and didn't because of his music. The people I wouldn't be here for anymore or get to love if it wasn't for his music. If people think I'm weird or crazy that's ok. If someone got mad because I stood up during Mexico last night (I've never been to a concert that we don't stand for Mexico) that's ok too. I had a blast and I'm happy.

Fly or Die Fly or Die Fly or Die ((world war)) by Jaimie Branch
9.2 - This album grabs your attention with Jaimie blasting her trumpet in the most powerful of ways, then zig-zags through zydeco, folk, boppy jazz, and everything in between to create a perfect showcase for her musicianship...RIP. -b
8.0 - A fluid swaying adventure that magically pops you into a different musical worlds that left me baffled in review and sad we won’t hear more from her- Jt

god so felt. i would speed home from campus like 3 years ago bcos id leave around 11p or so so nobody was on the road and i would Blast music. truly surprised i made jt home ever haha
assuming this is about the tags from that seinfeld post lol. yeah it was honestly a good thing i was on a shift that had the roads empty (well empty for central jersey, which is busier at 3am than a lot of places are at noon) because i needed the kind of emotional release that only comes from screaming mountain goats lyrics while flooring the gas, and i dont trust myself to be that unhinged in regular daytime traffic these days lol.

Anyone else have a tiny cranky old man type thought line in their head that just wishes people would be quiet or is that just me?
Like, I'm still respectful and let them do their thing but the cranky old man thoughts say quiet down
