I’m glad Dana answered my question about Ratador because my partner and I thought he was cut content of Odalia turning Alador into a rat out or rage or something. Turns out it was an inside joke about Alador’s t-rex pose (he’s so autistic coded, love this for him) looking like that of a rat & now he’s also Alador’s palisman.

Imagine Darius being a health nut and just a tad bit vain. Waking up at 5 each morning (”this hair doesn't fix itself, now does it?”), drinking green smoothies and getting at least 30 minutes of exercise daily. At the end of the day, he spends the same amount of time in front of the mirror, exfoliating and doing his 20-step skincare routine without exception. Everything Darius does is for his career; he has to act the part as coven head, as well as look the part. 

Meanwhile, Alador is the complete opposite. Since he spends the entire day hidden away in the factory, his pale complexion is almost always completely covered in grime. He gets so absorbed in his work that he only remembers to eat what’s easy and quick, which most of the time consists of a sandwich at best or a pack of chips at worst. He’s only consistent when it comes to his coffee intake, and quickly rakes up 8-10 cups during a work day, which ends at two at night with him collapsing onto a couch in his work room, before the routine repeats the day after.

Now, imagine those two getting together; imagine Darius’ not letting Alador leave for work (which now consists of inventing, the one thing he only really loved about his old work) before he has had a healthy and fiber-rich breakfast along with his coffee. Imagine Alador taking only 8 hours doing what once took 12, now finding himself with much more spare time he spends with his children, getting to really know them for the first time. In turn, Alador teaches Darius that it’s alright to sleep in at times, staying in bed doing nothing for an entire day. That it’s important to take care of your mental well being as well as your physical health. Imagine Darius and Alador making each other better, happier versions of themselves.

I just came with an idea for a possible Aladarius fic!

What if Alador, instead of enduring Odalia's abuses for years, decided at some point that he had enough and ran away, taking babies Amity, Edric and Emira with him?

What if he had chosen Darius' house as a hiding place, because it was the only place he could think of?

What if Darius, seeing his old childhood friend and ex-boyfriend at his door, clearly desperate, frightened and with three children in his arms, decided to take them all in, putting aside the resentment he has felt for Alador for all these years?

What if, in the time spent living together and raising three children together, the two were able to slowly reconcile and rebuild their old bond?

What if, thanks to this decision, Alador had the chance from the beginning to be a good father for his kids?

What if, thanks to this decision, Amity, Edric and Emira had the chance to grow up without a toxic mother controlling every single aspect of their life, but with a loving and caring biological father who actually had time to spend with them and who would die for them, and a second adoptive father who, despite having his initial reservetions about them, slowly grew to love them as well?

(And obviously with a furry gremlin uncle who likes to joke and play happily with them and to tease their two abomination dads.)

What if, thanks to this decision, Alador, Darius, Eberwolf, Amity, Edric and Emira had the chance to be a happy family together?

But obviously, it would not be all sunshine and rainbows.

In fact, you can rest assured that Odalia and her family would move mountains to find Alador and the children, in order to make Alador pay for "kidnapping" the children and restoring said children in Odalia's gross hands.

Alador would become a wanted man throughout the Boiling Isles.

He, Amity, Edric and Emira would be forced to remain holed up in Darius' house, having zero contacts with the outside world.

But it's okay for them, because they have each other, and plus they know they have Darius and Eberwolf to protect them.

Darius would become determinate to protect at all costs the man and the kids he grew to love with all his heart.

Same goes for Eberwolf.

It surely would not be an easy life for any of them, but they are all willing to fight for each other if necessary.

Now, how all of this will evolve and tie up to the canon series events it's up to you.

I don't think I'll ever write it down because it would take a lot of time, and I'm a lazy person (and also because I'm not that good as a writer).

It's just a fun little idea that came over my mind.

However, if someone wants to write this, go ahead.

(Just remember to credit me. It's all I ask.)

You can even chose a title for this (I was thinking on something like Runaway Blights Au, but I'll let you decide).

I would be super curios to see what could come out from this idea.

So, you who are reading this papyrus, if you're a good writer, if you ship Aladarius, if you want to give Amity, Edric, Emira and Alador more happiness than the series has given them, or, more simply, if you, like me, are just curios to see this idea brought to life, then what are you waiting for?

Alador is regretful. He wishes he couldve done things better but HES DOING THAT NNNOOWW. HE GOT THE DIVORCE. HE HAS HIS KIDS. HES LISTENING TO THEM NOW. HE LOVES THEM AND HES SO PROUD OF WHAT THEYVE ACOMPLISHED. (Thats an ON SCREEN THING. HE TELLS AMITY HOW PROUD HE IS OF HER PROGRESS WITH MAGIC. HOW SHES DOING SO GOOD.)

Alador IS a good dad. He's TRYING. he LOVES his kids. He would DIE for them. Sure he might fall back into old habits of spending all his time in the workshop or forgetting important things from time to time but he's trying his hardest. He probably has like little notes all over his workshop (somewritten by himself others written by his kids cuz they know how he is too) reminding him of things, telling him to take breaks, etc. And hed appreciate that and hed go out and hed cook dinner for the family and the kids would gather around him and bother him while he cooks (mainly edric and emira cuz i think amity would sit at the table and watch from a distance with a smile on her face) and hed very gently try to shoo them off (it dont work) and alador would turn to amity and give her a look like "can you help me?" And she just shakes her head with a BIGGER smile.

Theyd have a GOOD FAMILY DYNAMIC AFTER THE DIVORCE AND U CANT TELL ME THEY WOOULLLDDNNTTT.

I think Odalia Blight makes more sense - specially in her relationship with Alador - if we see her as a stand in for Disney (it also explains why Dana seems to particularly dislike Odalia).

Now this gets a bit more complicated when analysing her relationship with her childrem. But for the little we know I think it fits her and Aladors relationship perfectly. He is the animator and she is Disney and it could never be healthy from the start based on this pretense.

So we have them as kids and they clearly like each other. Because that's what Disney represents to childrem. Because here Odalia isn't Disney the coorporation yet, she is Disney the magic.

Kid Odalia is the Disney as seem by the eyes of childrem, specially childrem from the 90's and early 00's when the anti-cooporation feeling and understanding of the abusive working situations on this places was even less known or talked about. She is a friend, someone you can laught with and is there for you when you're lonely and that means something for you, just like all those Disney movies and shows.

Teen/Young Adult Odalia and Alador represent the start of the dream. Is the Disney that notices an young full of dreams talented animator and greenlits them even when there are soo many other talented animators, some that are better than you (like Darius).

It's the definition of a dream coming true. You can actually finally live from doing something you love and you're are being supported for one of the most important people (or entities on Disneys case) of your childhood. Someone you always looked up to and was there for you when you were down is actually looking back and saying you are just what they need and you are talented and you two are going to be a great partnership and they mean it. They want to be with you. And how could you say no?

But Odalia is Disney so the final step is the moment where all the individuality that attracted Disney is not attractive anymore. It all becomes bussiness risks and important deadlines and the fact that this is the step Alador's and Odalia's mariage evolved to a real employer-employee relationship and work place abuse isn't a surprise. Because Odalia just like the concept of Disney in ones mind slowly stopped being the magic and fun of childhood, stopped being the nice woman she was one day and became the cold coorporative machine.

And this goes to her relationship with her kids as well. Because for Odalia her kids are products. And in a very simplifield way we can see that in two different ways. First:

If we consider that at least part of the reason Emira and Eldric use the concealment spell is the expectations placed in them by Odalia (and her coments over Amity's hair change imply that). We got into the sanitization of the product so it can be more consumer friendly.

In second place we have Amity:

The whole kids working in the bussiness and grooming Amity in specific also fit too much in her trying to milk her kids (her content) for every little bit of monetary value in detriment to their essence.

So that's it. It's a real bad essay but here it was. This is everything.

“Human Amity” actually had a crush on Luz and tried to be friendly with her, but she came from a VERY teasing family and thought that the only way to make friends that their family wasn’t tied to her family was teasing, but the fact that Luz was bullied so much made her not figure out when it was teasing and when it was bullying.

Masha confessed their crush on Vee first by a cheek kiss, and that made Vee panic and lose concentration on her transformation.

Odalia’s only reason not to be homophobic was her family, so now that her family severed all ties with her, she tried to be homophobic, but seeing as homosexuality is a majority in the BI, she had to go be homophobic in the Human Realm.

Alador is a fully gay man, and Odalia just paid him into the relationship.

Amity's hair is faded lavender in TTT because she is scared to try human hair coloring, and her lavender hair just faded out.
