the Real mystery of death note is that Light somehow convinced the fandom that he is the socially competent one and L is the recluse with no social skills. Light thought it was realistic to respond to the emo freak at his college who said he was a world famous detective after hunching over like a gremlin taking his shoes off in public and sitting like a frog was "if you're telling the truth i respect you greatly." L frequently performs social tests on people close to him to see what they'll say with the goal of studying their responses and picked up a call from his friend in a potentially volatile situation by flawlessly imitating a douchebag friend who parties too much while likely never having been to a bar in his life. they are not the same.

if hearing a girl criticize consumerism and beauty/makeup/anti-body hair culture or even just saying they don't like wearing makeup or shaving or performing femininity immediately makes you label them a pick-me maybe that's your own conscience or internalised guilt projecting just sayin'. maybe she isn't the one who thinks you're anti-feminist for wearing makeup (let's face it she most probably doesn't because most people fucking wear makeup) but your visceral defensiveness at someone just existing outside conventional beauty standards says more about you than it probably does about them

Simple bias test:
If you take all the articles and media you see about Palestine & Israel in the last 20 years and flip the two names, would you still have the same opinion you have now?
If the roles were reversed wouldn't Western governments be yelling out that this is the greatest human rights infringement of our time? Wouldn't they vehemently punish the oppressor? Wouldn't they demand an immediate end to it?
Something tells me they would have called for a ceasefire within a day, that they would have sent military and aid to protect the people if Palestine was doing to Israel what Israel is and has been so blatantly and shamelessly doing to the Palestinians. But I suppose that's not how politics works, especially not when you’re being paid absurd amounts of money by keeping your mouth shut and your eyes blind.

okay maybe it’s just me but, if i were Rhaenyra, as a 14/15/16 year old she was in the very beginning of the show, and I’ve just lost my mother and I acknowledged the fact that I am my father’s only child… bro, I would GO OUT OF MY WAY to prove to everyone that I am worthy of becoming their ruler. I would educate myself on politics, economy, war strategies and shit, I would take part in the council meetings, I would take care of the smallfolk and stuff. I wouldn’t do anything that would make people think i’m unworthy. I wouldn’t be criticizing every single hypothetical future husband of mine to the point that I would be eventually forced to marry my gay cousin that I would be unable to have children with. I wouldn’t be sneaking around in whorehouses with my creepy uncle that has a history of being violent, just not to ruin my reputation. I wouldn’t be sleeping around with random men before I even became a queen. I wouldn’t be having casual sex with a man that looks nothing like my husband and trying to gaslight everyone into thinking that my bastard children are actually legitimate heirs.
I wouldn’t be walking on some thin fucking ice and giving people reasons to hate me. Like, I am a woman in a medieval patriarchal world and perhaps gonna be the very first woman to ever sit on the Iron Throne, people are gonna be judgmental regardless. I’d have to make a choice. Be “sexually liberated” and do whatever the fuck I want without fearing the consequences of my actions, OR become a wise, just, respected and worthy ruler. Not saying you can’t “balance” both, but the problem is Rhaenyra only does the first thing.
She hasn’t done a single thing to prove to everyone that they should be supporting her. She was never wise, just, empathetic towards smallfolk, never made any effort to earn people’s support, love and respect. She just expects it from everyone because her daddy named her heir, and wants everyone’s support on a silver plate just because.
But it doesn’t work like that. Unfortunately, not for women. And definitely not for women with a reputation of being a whore.

Sandy: "Hurting others isn't a measure of one's strength—took me a really long time to realize that. As long as I'm doing something to help out a friend, I don't mind what it is! I just want to be there for 'em when they need me. Because at the end of the day, helping my friends is more important than anything else in the world!"
