what do you think could’ve been done better regarding camp half-blood besides spending more time there/pacing? i’d love to hear your thoughts!
!! okay I know you're specifically asking for things that could have been done better beyond spending more time at CHB, but straight up that one issue is really the crux of everything. -- The time we spend at CHB before the quest in the show is half the time we do in the book. (And for a different frame of reference, the book is aprox. 40% over by the time the trio is leaving camp borders.)
And since the show runners halved the pre-quest chb runtime, as a result we lose quite a bit of content that helped to establish context, tone, foreshadowing, character dynamics etc.
Because we have to prioritize Percy and Luke's relationship in the show, it forces the rest of the relationships that were established in CHB in the book into the background, (or simply makes them none existent):
We have pretty much only ever been told verbally about Luke and Annabeth's bond by this point (episode 5). They have a two second interaction at camp that's not particularly noteworthy and that's that. Imo that's not particularly compelling story telling lol. We'll likely (hopefully) get something from episodes 6-8, but I maintain we still should've gotten something more substantial between Luke and Annabeth at camp. I've said before, at bare minimum the show should have had Luke see them off at Thalia's tree like he did in the book.
I've mentioned this before but Annabeth and Percy's dynamic had a much greater establishment in chb in the book because she's the one that's his guide at camp and she actively seeks him out more. In the show, we have to give this role to Luke and while I can give this change between book to screen more leeway because, yes, we have the entire quest to build Percy and Annabeth's dynamic, I still didn't like that it pretty much forced Annabeth into the periphery in the show. As a result, it made her seem a lot more distant and aloof than she ever was in the book. (Shoutout to Leah's armor strap improv, she's doing more for Annabeth than the show runners are).
2. We don't really get see the effects of Percy being claimed as Big Three Kid at camp:
Yeah, Percy moves into the new cabin in the show but then almost immediately after he's off on his quest. Meanwhile in the book, Percy's claimed as a big three kid... and then we see how it ostracizes him.
He misses being in the Hermes' cabin. Campers avoid him. He sleeps and eats alone now. He has to have solo lessons with Luke because the others are scared. He's miserable! And none of those experiences were translated to screen.
Again, they told us that big three kids are taboo, but have not shown that impact.
Like the difference in reaction during the claiming scene between the book and the show pretty much sums up this discrepancy.
3. General loss of foreshadowing and tone:
Because we don't get as much Annabeth, we lose how in the book, she had been aware that something was wrong with the gods and surmised that something was stolen long before the quest. She shared this with Percy. It was a great showcase of her intelligence. It helped set the tone that something was wrong before the quest even stared. And all of it just, didn't really make the cut.
The hellhound attack also didn't make it and its just another loss of foreshadowing. Luke was straight up trying to kill this kid from day one. Percy was not safe even at camp. Things weren't okay ever.
The weather! Yes the boundary keeps the weather mild at camp but in the book Percy remarks on the huge storms that surround them at one point. Before he leaves there's a storm so bad approaching that the campers are nervous. Even before he got to CHB there were "inexplicable" storms all the time. I wish this had been maintained in the show even beyond the camp. The gods, Zeus, they aren't happy.
Also, I tried rewatching the episodes to find this convo but I couldn't so please let me know if it's there somewhere but I don't think Luke conveyed anywhere in the show that his quest "messed things up" for anyone? Like, sure, they could include this at the end, but I think it's more impactful when we see more hints of his bitterness early on.
4. Minor Nitpicks + More things I miss:
Annabeth should have gotten soaked by Percy's Supreme Lord Bathroom moment like she did in the book. Percy had flooded the entire bathroom and she wasn't speared. In fact, Percy was the only person who wasn't wet.
The self-filling goblets in the book + the blue Coke moment.
I wish the show had Percy like, white knuckling his minotaur horn refusing to let it go. In the book he saw it as the last souvenir of his mother, refused to let anyone else hold, and was afraid it would be taken.

Hands that were trained, calloused once with bruises, prepared to be painted with blood now sat idle—a diamond ring in the finger.
Fate- the red string- two ends.
About 8 billion people walked the surface of earth—it was said, heard, stated, passed—The Greek god Zeus split each one of us into halves, punished to roam the earth and find our other half—the soulmate. Fatalism stated that everything was predestined- so it must be true, the concept of it.
Marriage—sacred, pure.
The day was clear as ever in your eyes—your father had entered the room, a solemn look on his face, a ring in hand; the entire month you had watched as the Gojos became a usual Tomorrow; you had watched as your sisters giggled at the premonition of your marriage; you had watched as the tables shifted and you had watched, and watched and watched.
Eyes numb, heart aching and mind a mess, you watched for that was all you could do now.
It was rushed, the whole process of it—a month ago your wedding planned and a month later you were gone. You didn’t want the wedding, you were sure Satoru Gojo didn’t either—“He’s so in love with you,” from your cousins deluded you—“I’m so lucky to have you,” from his mother.
Mind filled with thoughts of a man you’d only meet at the night of your wedding.
No amount of convincing could’ve been for you to utter a yes—but a definitive “You will do it,” from your father did wonders.
“You’ll be alright,” a whisper—your mother’s, soft, harsh.
“You have to be alright,” a demand—your father’s, careful, adamant.
“Promise me you’ll be alright,” a thought—your sister’s, empty, or so you dared to think.
And that was true, in a lonesome bind, you thought a lot.
You thought when your sister braided your hair, pretty, elegant—nothing you’d ever found yourself to be defined as.
You thought while your mother and grandmother, aunts and maids—they giggled, old wives’ tales falling off chastised lips like honey.
You thought when you found your father’s eyes hiding—nervous, you’d noted but you only thought.
And you thought still when the morning arrived, you sister kneeling beside you—eyes focused, narrowed, fingers working fast to smoothen the white.
Perfect the white.
Perfect your impure white—the dirty kind.
And finally, alone with your sister, you spoke.
“You must be glad,”
A silence met you, heavy.
“Don’t be shy about it, not anymore,”
A sigh— she got up slow, eyes focused still on your white gown—“you look gorgeous,” a mumble you heard.
You found yourself staring at her curls—when did she curl those you wondered, but then she’d answer that you didn’t care and perhaps, you didn’t.
Not usually.
“We’re sisters Aki,” you pestered, “you can tell me ya know?” You winked—a smirk, a tease—all to prove your point.
“The wedding is to begin in an hour now then, be prepared,”
“Don’t change topics. Tell me you’re happy about it, about all this,”
Another sigh—a glare and a huff, “Has father stuffed lies so deep your throat that you’re begging to hear them now?”
Again, silence.
Father—
Your eye twitched—nose puffed and eyes flared at your form in the mirror—you did you look gorgeous, or at least, different. A good different, arguably.
“Alright,” she mumbled quietly then, “c’mere—” her hands beckoned you close, her own navy blue contrasting to your pure white—ironic, you mused.
“What,” face scrunched, you let out—causing your sister to chuckle, “At least smile at your own wedding y/n,”
A scoff—“I’ll cry if I damn want to—and no, not for the dramatics,” a chuckle, this time, mutual.
“I’ll miss you,” you heard her whisper against you, entrapped in an embrace you stood, stiff—your eyes lay blank.
“Was it…my—”
“It’s not to chastise you,”
“It’s no less than that,”
“Endure it,”
A tear, quick, rolled down your cheek—wiped off all too quickly by your own sister—for you were to look perfect tonight.
Perfect for your perfect husband.
“Find your happiness there,” she whispered against your shoulder—you sobbed, “Why is he sending me away?”
Cruel. Cruel. Cruel.
“He sent us all away- even mother,” her hands patted your back- the touch felt foreign—“Not me,” your voice rasped, “I was different, I was better, I was the best he had,” her hands tensed around you—“I don’t know,” she confessed, “but promise me, you’ll be happy there,”
You nodded- empty.
Tumblr media
“He’s going to be a fool in love,” her voice adorned, his mother- sharp- “So fortunate to get someone like you in my house, such a sweet pretty thing you are,” you smiled in accordance- hands clenched.
It was for her sake, you believed, the Gojo family worked in her shadow— a finger lifted meant everyone had to stand, a finger pressed and silence—in some way or the other, she stood to be your admiration. To hold power was to be nothing however to call power, now that, you admired.
It was in the way she was subtle but oh so glorified—Kana Gojo, perhaps the only woman or human you’d dared to look upto.
You smiled as she’d walked you around—parading shops through shops, looking for what she deemed the perfect dress—perfect, she wanted it to be—perfect not for her son but perfect in every sense of it.
-
A gift placed in your hand- bribe—“Aren’t you the sweetest Hm?” A smile, vaunted- his father, a careful spendthrift in every sense of the word.
You smiled, nodded and chuckled—“only learned from the best,” your eyes zoom over to your mother—never learned anything from her, you didn’t, and yet—formalities and a certain charm, you graced them evidently.
The head of the house, at least on paper—he didn’t hold much prowess with the profits but then, Gojos barely needed any more profit for the empire was built well and well enough to not crash. He did, however, hold his hands high and wide—welcoming, warm; everything his wife was not.
Not yin to her yang but the epitomised silver to her gold — Ginji Gojo, perhaps the only man to accustom himself to his wife, the only man you never truly could understand, along his son, of course.
You grinned as he lead you, hand held in his own—eyes searching for the perfect diamond to adorn not your finger but your marriage.
-
Shy glances and shyer hello-s he muttered, it was cute—you supposed, in the way a letter found is way in your hands—“Read it when you’re alone please,”—his cousin brother, innocent.
‘Hello,’ it began—cut off—‘Dear Y/n,’—cut off—‘assume I said something cool,’ you chuckled, the rest, a memory nestled deep in your mind.
He was young, 9–someone you hoped to inspire—Megumi—he didn’t know much, or anything at all, a subtle age of nine after all. But he knew enough.
Not enough to strike competition but smart enough to be called his successor; he was a smart kid you’d mused, a polite greet everytime you two met, a sweeter letter handed everytime.
Twice he cut off the beginning every time and deliberate you’d found it be—cuter still. And he lead you still, hand holding onto yours as he helped you decide on the flavour of the cake.
Tumblr media
The girl, you watched from the corner of your eyes, chuckled, a hand reaching out to slap her father’s hand away—he chuckled, smiled, conversed—something and everything you never had.
A tear rolled down your cheek, salty—“Crying already?” The voice was gruff, your father’s.
“Father,” you muttered, hands reaching upto wipe the tear away quick—“Don’t,” he muttered, “Tears are useful.”
You could only nod.
The man stood beside you, taller by a decent inch or two—hands stuffed in his pocket and a bow tie tight around his neck; the man was slender— a ghost of the figure he used to be, could’ve been. A potential wasted, he called himself—a potential wasted, you too.
You watched him as he moved around you, hefty eyes felt heavy, scanning your form—“You look fine,” a compliment he’d deem it—perhaps it was, “Didn’t know white was your colour.”
It wasn’t.
Did he know anything about you? At all? No.
“Suppose it is, today onwards,” he smiled, you frowned, “That’s my girl.”
Another tear rolled quick, then another and they kept rolling, you stood blank.
“No,” you scowled defiantly—his hands working quick—scowl, mirroring yours as he wiped the tears—“When I said tears, I didn’t mean these many. You cannot possibly be this dramatic.”
An empty grin.
“Dramatic?” Voice pitched, brows raised, heart shattering you stared at him—“I am being dramatic?” Loud enough you were to have people raise the awareness that the bride was moody- or so they’d gossip and so you’d let them.
His eyes narrowed—a sign, quite usually telling you to quieten down—not today, “Why are you doing this?” You finally asked, shoulders relieved, heart heavier still—afraid the answer might me the truth you’ve fed yourself.
“Is this some- some-” you paused, a breath caught, eyes cast down—“punishment? Did I do something wrong?”
And in that moment, perhaps you were nothing more than a little girl—perhaps in that moment you wanted nothing more than your father’s reassurance—perhaps things could’ve been better.
But they weren’t—glory of fate itself.
“Don’t create a fucking scene,”
Had hearts really been made of glass, your father would’ve heard yours break—not once but a million times in that second. Again and again and again.
A noise—static.
“Yes sir,” you muttered, eyes dancing along his hands—you shuddered—he twisted his own.
-
His hands were soft as they held yours, he lead you slow, your father did.
The white veil that you’d spent hours to decide upon, the one you would never care about—it swept beside you, gasps escaping the lips of many as you walked out.
And there, there your eyes met his.
Poised he stood, white hair slicked back—nothing like those superficial memories his mother had told about, nothing like the tabloids you’d seen. This man, the one on your altar—that was Satoru Gojo.
Not the Toru’ you’d heard of, not the Heir of Gojos you’d kept your eyes upon, not the stubborn and hardheaded Satoru-san his maids had warned you about, not anything you’d known.
This was Satoru Gojo, your husband to be.
You hadn’t assumed your wedding to be a fairytale—in all honesty, you hadn’t assumed anything at all.
A prison you’d deemed it on the first day and perhaps that was all it was—but something, just something in you cried all too much when Satoru didn’t slip so much as a smile towards you.
Don’t get me wrong, he’d grinned and smirked all night- teased by his friends—congratulated by everyone—he did show joy, in some meaning of the word.
Not to you- but I suppose a win that was too—after all, a marriage is built on the truths right?
Eyes moist, a tear he did let go off—superficial it was, you knew it, but a hero Satoru Gojo would be deemed the next day in the magazines his family would pay good money to.
Yours was never meant to be that perfect wedding, not at the core of it—you knew that from day one of the sequenced wedding but then—just something, someone in you cried a little too. Just someone broke inside when you realised it wouldn’t be your husband who cried the moment he set his eyes on his bride—it wouldn’t be you telling those cute stories about your wedding day.
It wouldn’t be you—it was normal you’d heard, for grooms to be overwhelmed in there weddings- the thought of spending a forever with his bride, the supposed memories flooding their mind—but it wouldn’t be for you. He stood there with hands behind him, eyes awaiting you presence still.
A smile he held—empty as you joined him—eyes were very telling you r father had preached, never once had you found him to be wrong.
His hands felt cold as you held them—cold like your father’s, colder still somehow was his presence. And your realised, heart — to what you had thought to be a void — breaking as you realised that the marriage was a cage to him as much as you. Neither happy—he wasn’t happy with your presence.
Pathetic. But again, did it truly matter?
The wedding had begun— officiated, soon your “I do”s would slip, the wedding couldn’t be stopped now, not ever.
And in that moment your eyes flickered to your own mother—she stood regal.
Embroidery she’d fought into you, cooking and baking, sewing a skill she’d made you own too—pity she couldn’t teach you controlling your emotions—pity your father was your influence.
Your eyes managed to flicker onto him—saintly, your brain mused—your heart couldn’t help but agree. And those saintly features held an ugly heart you told yourself, solace to a lonesome mind.
“Satoru, do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect Y/N, forsaking all others, and holding only unto her forevermore?”
When he took a moment to answer with a blank gaze, you could feel tiny pricks being sent straight to your heart. Just a mere glance at his stolid mien was enough for you to believe that he was going to call off the wedding and run away—mayhaps you wanted that, mayhaps, you didn’t.
What else could you expect?
He clearly didn’t want this, understandable was the fact. It wouldn’t surprise you if he took a step back and announced that he couldn’t go on in making an oath to offer the rest of his life with you. That he would rather get out of this hell hole and be somewhere else than to proclaim a love that was being forced out of him.
“I do,” he professed, despite the inner turmoil that plagued his head.
You sighed—soft.
“Y/n, do you promise to love, honour and cherish and protect Satoru, forsaking all others, and holding only unto her forevermore?”
Your eyes were quick—a glance here and there and everywhere—the pause was heavy; you watched your father’s nod of encouragement—your mother’s sharp eyes—his mother’s smile, fake- his father’s sip of champagne—your sister’s eyes’ were hazy; his best friend tipsy.
You couldn’t say no—“I do,”
“Bride and Groom, you have heard the words of love and marriage, have exchanged your vows and made your promises, and celebrated your union with the giving and receiving of rings. It is at this time that I now pronounce you husband and wife,” the officiant declared, “you may now kiss the bride.”
Your eyes widened behind your veil- your first- the breath hitched as Satoru removed your veil—crystal seemed his eyes, crystal clear was his distaste. He was tall—comical in fact—you tip toed slight, he leaned in a bit—the kiss was warm, chill, foreign. His hand rested upon your cheek, a stroke—a pull, brief.
Your eyes watched as he pulled away, a new smile on his lips—an actor he could’ve proven to be.
A million thoughts clouded you and him—known to only the two of you—marriage worked quick in that sense you supposed, mother and you sister weer perhaps right. But when all was said and done—the marriage was officiated.
And your eyes met then—a thought passed between you and your husband—stuck together—Unfortunately, Yours.
Tumblr media
Hair slicked, ivory, elegant.
For a man who was yours even when he wasn’t—you supposed he was good.
Gojo Satoru swept across the room—a smile on his face, gentle; gentler was the rhythm he walked at. Here and there, he conversed, after all, a man of his charm he was- taking after none but his father.
Idle gossip danced along his ears while he giggled with women—politics fell off his lips as he sipped on the champagne—he teased and played with children too, laughing and joking with them—Gojo Satoru smiled to all but his wife-to-be. She sat there, quiet, unmoving, unrelenting—she lay still.
“It’s the fifth time you’ve stared at her in the last 3 minutes,” a glass in hand—a black suit adorned, Suguru waltzed beside him—a sly grin on his face, “I know you’re married but that’s really desperate, even for you,”
“Shut up,” Satoru muttered, grinning wide at the new set of guests—hand motioning the waiters to attended to it.
Suguru chuckled again, “Your dad really didn’t help out today either huh?”
“Old geezer’s getting drunk,” voice, plain—monotonous, hands clenched at his sides —begging to run through his hair—to ruin it all.
“How was she?”
“Boring,”
Suguru’s eyes zoomed on to the specific waitress—limping—he sighed, “Your mother was worried sick and you’re having affairs already?,” he began, hands reaching up to fix the shirt, “And today is your wedding today—have some etiquette,”
Eyes rolled—the same dialogue slipped off his mouth—“You’re becoming my mother—and she isn’t random; as is I’ll get her fired now,” he grinned this time around, “but not anymore, I’ve already got another woman to fuck around with,” a hand—sharp—landed on his head.
“Respect her,” the raven haired boy muttered, eyes focused and cast down, “She’s your wife today onwards—not just some woman you can fuck whenever you want,”
Satoru scowled, hands rubbing the back of his head, the spot where Suguru struck, “That’s all she means,”
“Don’t tempt me to make her a widow before she’s even married Satoru,” a grin, a huge one Suguru masked—words deadly balanced.
“Treat her well Satoru,”
“You marry her then,”
“Suck it up and smile,”
“Fuck you,”
“I will,”—a grin, a chuckle and that was that. A hand patted Satoru on the back—“Treat her well,” Suguru muttered again, both their eyes cast onto you—where a smile rested on both their lips, only one was genuine. Your eyes found tracing their oath to their spot too, black and white—they seemed a beautiful set—your eyes cast to your own gown and your sister’s. White and navy blue—all the same.
A couple and another, a pair of four.
Suguru let his eyes cast down to his watch—about time for the dance—“Satoru,” his voice was smooth, “it’s time for your dance,”
He hummed—“Her father, or I suppose mine too now—he wanted her first dance,” Suguru raised his brows, “and you let him? What happened ‘I don’t share’” A small smirk played on the younger male’s lips.
“I don’t share what’s mine—not all that-” another strike, harder.
-
Inhale, exhale- again.
You hands shook, and ears ringed—you were married. The statement related in your mind for the 5th time since.
Married. Tied down.
“Entertain me with the first dance m’lady?” Your eyes narrowed—sharp—“Father?”
Beside you stood you father indeed, an aura different—an aura that had become his past.
He smiled, kind—your confusion only grew—“It’s time sweetheart,” Your teeth clenched; sweetheart?
You nodded still—be his good girl—his hand held yours; yours, his.
The music was slow- none that you recognised, you needn’t, you’d want to forget the moment already. The applause for you was blurry, everything around you was too. Eyes didn’t bother running off to your mother, nor your husband—they never did around your father.
And in the moment, you could’ve sworn to the vain memory you held—your father seemed like the man you once knew; seemed like the one who had abandoned you. Rage seized a decent part of your mind—desperation to hold onto him took charge of the other.
He held you close- an embrace not felt in forever, “You’ll be fine baby,” he mumbled into your ear—“don’t say that,” you were quick to add.
“Don’t be like this,” you added next, his heart broke, yours already was.
He knew however, what you meant- not a single objection he raised, guilt all too evident on the face that held its own wisdom. Evident however, only to those who knew him and pity lay such, he never let you.
“Just entertain me here,” you finally spoke—a minute left of your song—“why did you agree to this? We’re not- we’re not in need of money, we’ve the perfect military- you’ve raised me enough for me to take over at any given instance then why—why them?”
His gaze should’ve hardened—you expected it; it softened.
“I apologise.”
You nodded yet again- an answer unkempt.
-
Satoru’s hand felt the same it had the altar, soft, scented- something you perhaps wanted to hated.
He spun you around—a man of honour your mother would call him, you beckoned yourself to him—a lady of grace his mother would call you.
People danced all around you, your eyes found their way onto your sister, smiling and giggling—suitors all around her, you smiled.
Eyes couldn’t help but falter at Suguru Geto- Satoru’s best friend, you’d learned—his presence too. In a shy corner he stood- girls around him, you wouldn’t blame them—he sought that attention after all, evident.
“You like this song?” Your eyes snapped onto Satoru—“Pardon?”
“This song, do you like it?” Your eyes gazed everyone—all the while, his, you.
“I’ve…never heard it before—”
“—well I particularly hate it,” your brows raised—“Oh alright,” you nodded, “I’ll make sure to not add it to the playlist ‘Wedding 2.0’,”
Smiles you both held- not for each other, formal entirely—“Hilarious,” he muttered, “Makes two of us,” you snapped back.
A momentary silence fell and you couldn’t yourself—“Don’t try to play the husband here, you don’t accept me and I don’t accept you which is all but fine by me but I don’t need you to make idle conversations.” Voice sharp- eyes more so.
He grinned—“Feisty Hm?” Your nose flared—“alright I’ll entertain you with the non-idle kind,” eyes looked down at you condescension, was it?
“Daddy raised you as his war general yeah?” Your jaw clenched, “what did they call you? His right arm? His best gem?”
“Domestic abuse,” you began slow, “is a very real concept Satoru,” you smiled dangerously sweet—“Pray tell, the way you speak may make you victim soon,”
He chuckled quietly, nothing humorous, “Daddy also taught you weaponry?”
“Don’t speak of him like that-respect him,” you warned, teeth gritted—both of yours eyes zooming onto him—Satoru smiled.
“Of course, nothing against my father-in-law,” another grin, “But I can say whatever to you right baby?”
You hated him.
Your eyes scanned his, his- yours.
A frown, a grin.
A cough sounded beside you just then—the man just as tall as your husband, just as, if not more so, elegant.
Your eyes met his—a pit, yours and his.
“M’lady,” he smiled smoothly- bending just enough to kiss your hand—eyes cast quick onto Satoru, “One dance with the lady of the night please?”
Never a question, only a statement.
“Yes please,” Satoru muttered all too quick- a sharp glance, yours and Suguru’s.
Before you knew it you were swept right away, Suguru danced faster—a style which complimented yours, Satoru? Quiet the very same as yours, clashing.
You smiled as he picked the momentum with you, a chuckle his too—“You look stunning tonight,”
A nervous smile you passed-“All the very same to you sir,” his eyes crept onto your skin quick—“Why, seems like it’s just the two War Generals appreciating each other,” he laughed.
You laughed along- your eyes pausing to scan the hilt of his dagger in the suit—“Talent sees talent, eh?”
Another laugh- empty. What had swept you off was pleasant, what danced with you was hollow.
“The wedding,” Suguru added—your ears perked.
“Yes?” You reflected instantly—“You helped in the management right?” He smiled—your eyes narrowed.
Bastard, you both mused.
You nodded politely, “Well a good wife has to take care of things yeah?”
He grinned, “Oh you’re all too good m’lady,” voice a whisper, “Seems to me you’ll give me a run for my life,”
You grinned back, “Bless my heart Suguru—never to my family.”
Eyes hollow, minds ran fast—‘Interesting’ you both wondered as Suguru handed you back to his best friend and your husband.
‘Interesting indeed’.

N. A.: I'm glad I can share this chapter with you bc I couldn't wait to post it anymore! I wanted this moment between them to be special not only bc it is, you know, they honeymoon, but bc what it will mean for both of them in the future: the trust, the intimacy and the respect they have for each other can be sensed in each second, and it's expected to grow stronger. I really wanted to depict what a healthy relationship means when I had the idea for this story, and that's why I'm putting such effort in these things.
Also I wanted to include some humor in it as well, so I hope you enjoy the content by the end of this chapter as well haha
Tumblr media
Your face warmed up when the god revealed his identity.
So, the doctor of the gods is Apollo’s son.
You would still need time to conciliate it, since Asclepius looked like a twin of his own father, but despite your surprise, you soon caught up with the good manners and greeted him with the owned respect.
– It is an honor for me to finally meet you as well, Asclepius-sama – you gave him a fainting smile – I apologize for my first reaction, but you really resemble the God of the Su…
Your last word was interrupted by a sudden decrease on your blood pressure, and your head fell back on your pillow. Hades rushed to your side.
– Y/n? – he helped you to sit and adjusted the pillow behind your back – Are you alright?
– I am – you sighed – For a moment, my body felt heavy again and my sight got dark, but it’s coming back again…
When your sight was finally reestablished, you looked at Asclepius and noticed he had a serious expression. He approached your spot and sat on the bed, placing the cane beside him and taking off the bag from his shoulder.
– These episodes of weakness… when exactly did they start?
You made an effort to remember, but even this was painful for you.
– One or two hours after I drank the ambrosia, I guess. But it was easy to handle... at least until I sensed the beginning of a headache. I passed out for the first time in our way here, on the corridor. But this isn’t everything: while I stood here, waiting for you, my Lord, I noticed my senses... increasing – you indicated the opened balcony with a frail hand – I’ve been hearing the nightly animals as if they’re close to this room, but they’re actually miles away, and all these sounds make the headache worst.
Asclepius thought of this for a moment, a hand under his chin. Then, he took out a strange instrument from his bag, something that resembled a portable mirror.
– Please, put your palm over the lens – he asked and you obeyed, putting your hand over the place where the glass would be if it was a mirror – Keep it there for a few seconds.
You sensed a cold upon your skin, as a glowing light appeared and vanished, little by little until everything was dark again. The exam was finished. Asclepius thanked your collaboration and analyzed the instrument. You glanced over the lens and noticed a purplish glow over them, in a shade that resembled the one of your hair now.
– It is just as Zeus-sama said – he started – You are on the growing spectrum. The blessed fluid is slowly assimilating your natural characteristics and expanding them beyond the human limits. However, your body is still mortal, and this is the cause of the uncomfortable symptoms: your immune system still views these changes as signs of sickness and it’s trying to fight it, but as the ambrosia takes over your cells, turning them into divine ones, they will become the majority, and your body will no longer react as if you were sick.
You swallowed. Knowing what was going on with your body was somewhat relieving, but you were still worried about the possibility of the symptoms increasing, and you exposed those preoccupations to him.
– About this, I might have a solution – he replied with a kind smile – Just give me a second.
He turned the instrument off and put it back in the bag and started searching for something else inside it. Finally, he took out a small bottle from it and handled it to Hades, who received it with a frown.
– Don’t tell me that it is what I think it is…
You leaned to your husband, trying to observe the bottle, then turned to the other god.
– What is this?
Asclepius had a curious expression that deepened his resemblance with Apollo: the grin of someone who had the undivided attention of powerful beings.
– Hades-sama may tell you this story later, when you have more disposition to listen to it – he replied – But to summarize, it is the medicine I created to cease a terrible plague that almost ended humanity in the past. I don’t want to brag about it, but its effectiveness was such that some men became immortal, and Hellheim lost potential inhabitants thanks to it.
Hades sighed by your side.
– Those were chaotic times, in fact, but I’m glad everything was solved – he gave the bottle to you.
You turned to the doctor.
– If this was the effect on human beings, how am I going to react to this medicine now that I’m already becoming a goddess?
– It will diminish the discomfort caused by the metamorphosis – he explained – And it will do this without interfering in the process, like other substances would do, which would be too risky. You see, you’re not really sick, y/n-san. You’re just changing. Then, I recommend you to take it only when you feel you’re not going to stand the symptoms for any longer. Small doses are enough to help you.
Asclepius’ last words sounded as comforting the ones of an adult who was trying to console his child about growing up. You didn’t find it offensive, though: being someone who was used to observe how the living beings’ bodies work, maybe it was exactly the way he thought of the situation; you were leaving the childish state of being a mortal and was now entering the adulthood of existence by becoming a divine being. Of course, the process would be scary and even painful at some point, but it was also a wonderful experience.
Suddenly, you remembered something you’ve been wanting to ask to the gods you were more familiar with, but haven’t had the opportunity.
– Ah, about this, there’s something I’d like to know, Asclepius-sama – you observed the bottle in your hands – Is it possible to tell what type of goddess I’m going to be?
He thought of the question for a while.
– According to what Zeus-sama told me, you’re on the growing spectrum. I don’t know how much he told you about this, but your side on the spectrum of transformations usually determines what types of power you might hold. Gods with the same process as you use to have familiarity with wildlife, the cycles of nature and rebirth. Demeter and Chloris, though they were divine since the start, are this type of goddesses. It’s too soon to tell if your powers are going to be similar to theirs, but they will work under the same principles.
You pondered for a moment, then turned to your husband.
– It makes sense when we remember our dreams about the ruins, Hades.
– Indeed – he agreed – A living human visiting the world of the dead really seemed to be a sign back then. Now we need to observe the development of your powers to reach a better understanding of it.
Asclepius, who was hearing the conversation in silence, stood up put his bag back around his shoulder and grabbed his cane.
– Hades-sama, y/n-san, my sincere wish is to see you reach the referred understanding. It will be a great achievement for yourselves and for the world of the gods – he bowed his head – Now, if you excuse me, other matters demand my attention.
Hades stood up right after him.
– Will you stay in Valhalla, then?
– Yes. Usually, I would visit Valhalla every six months to check on the girls’ health, but personal problems prevented me from coming in the last semester – the doctor explained; and, turning to you, – This is why you’re only seeing me for the first time now, y/n-san. Finally, try to take as much rest as possible. This is as important as the medicine I gave you.
You gave him a cordial smile.
– I will do this, Asclepius-sama. Thank you for everything.
The god bowed for the second time.
– It’s good to hear that. And, if you need me, I will be in the chambers besides Hermes’.
– Thank you for answering our call, Asclepius – Hades replied – I will accompany you to the door.
The two men left and your husband closed the door behind him. You observed the small bottle in your hands for a while before putting it upon the night stand at the left side of the bed and letting your head fall on the pillows.
***
Hades came back to your chambers after a few minutes, stating that he was going to take a bath himself.
– Are you going to be alright while I’m there? – he asked while caressing your hair.
– I am – you smiled, still lying your head on the pillow – If things get complicated, I’ll be following Asclepius-sama’s instructions.
– Good – he bent down to kiss the top of your head – I’ll be right back.
You never had a clear memory of what happened after he left you, but you were inclined to think you just stood in bed, in the dark, your consciousness slipping out as you listened to the murmur of the shower somewhere near you. You were tired and weak due to the transformation, but you were in peace: you had a medicine to lean on, the man you loved was close and your family was out there having fun.
Everything is in its right place.
It was impossible to measure how long you stood in that quiet, peaceful state, somewhere between asleep and awake, but it changed when your body began to feel cold; this cold appeared first in your feet and spread to your legs, then to the rest of your limbs as you pulled the sheets more and more against yourself, but your efforts to keep the warmth were useless, for the cold didn’t come from the outside, and soon you were taken over by successive shivers. You tried to move to your side, but felt your body heavy, as if your blood pressure got suddenly low again; this time, your head started spinning. You knew your situation were getting more serious, and couldn’t help feeling anxious.
You tried to move back to your previous position, to reach for the medicine on the night stand, but your attempt failed: your body barely obeyed you. Now you were really scared, and before you did anything to avoid it, you were already breathless and crying.
What’s going on? What’s happening to me? Am I going to...
A yellowish light appeared on the wall above your head, illuminating the headboard and the painting over it (you opted to keep the art with the fawn and the nymphs). With one last effort, you moved the sheets away and saw the bathroom’s door opened: Hades’ silhouette was stepping out of it, wrapped in a robe. You couldn’t keep looking, because the headache increased, forcing you to close your eyes.
Apparently, your bad state was evident from far, because soon he rushed to your side.
– What is it, y/n? What’s happening?
You tried to sit on the bed, but your body didn’t obey you. You only managed to change your position with his help.
– I don’t know... – you whispered, covering your forehead with your hand – My head hurts… And I couldn’t even reach for the medicine…
Making you look up to him, he moved your hand away and put his palm over your forehead, then on each side of your neck.
– You got a fever – was his worried answer – And a bad one.
Your heart jumped at those words.
– It explains this cold I’m feeling… It’s so scary… – you sighed and passed your arms around yourself as another shiver spread through your body; you raised your eyes to him, raising a trembling hand to hold the sleeve of his robe – Can you stay with me?
Hades stared at you for a moment, a glimmer of compassion in his eyes. Maybe he was thinking the same as you: that was going to be the first time you were sharing a bed; of course, none of you expected this moment to be like this, but it was there before you, and both of you sensed the importance of it.
Your husband sat by your side and wiped your tears, involving you in his arms and kissing your forehead.
– Of course I can, little one – he then grabbed the medicine and opened the bottle, holding it close to your lips – Take it.
You accepted the remedy and, after a small dose, he put it back on its previous place, then turned around the bed and took off his robe; he left the piece on the back of a chair beside the bed and finally took the place by your side.
– Come here – he passed his arms around your body and placed you between them, your head leaning on his chest, your legs folded between his.
You moaned when a new, stronger shiver spread all over your body.
– I’m so scared...
You felt the warmth of his hand massaging your back and curled yourself more on his lap.
– I know – he whispered – But I’m here with you – and, kissing your hair, – And if things get tough, we have a doctor nearby, okay?
– Okay – your voice faded as you replied; and, with an attempt to laugh, – You know… I’ve been wondering how our first night together would be like… And, among all the possibilities, I’ve never considered something like this… I’m so sorry for ruining it...
– What are you apologizing for, little one? – you felt his fingers fondling your hair – You’re turning into a goddess. The most beautiful one. There’s nothing to be sorry about.
– But I wanted to give you… to give us better moments… It’s our honeymoon, after all…
He strengthened his grip around you and kissed you again.
– Each moment, and each night we will spend together will be better than the other. This is just the first one. You don’t have t lose your head over it.
You spent a moment in silence, gathering strength to reply.
– I see…
In fact, you were anxious about that night for weeks, so when it finally came, it was only natural that you felt frustrated, even disappointed with yourself, to see things happening in an uncomfortable, unplanned way. But another thing you weren’t expecting was to find relief while speaking about your feelings and then being understood by your husband: perhaps you’ve been putting so much expectation in your own part in this that you forgot you weren’t going to take care of it by yourself; yet counting on each other was a golden rule of relationships, even more in romantic ones.
I still have too much to learn.
Fortunately for you, you had a reasonable partner, one who have learned the art of patience for centuries and who would teach you in this sense for the next ages. Ages… when you remembered that this was going to be your lifespan, your heart ached, and more shivers hit your body, but guiding your thoughts away from it would calm them down, and with effort you trained yourself in this sense.
That night was long. You spent all of it in the arms of the King of the Underworld, alternating between moments of dreamless sleep and tired consciousness; this extended as the transformation went on, and the fever diminished as the hours passed. During those painful hours, Hades was always there with you, whether talking or just caressing you; as you got used to his warmth, you noticed the cold ceasing, and as the metamorphosis became more tolerable, your body relaxed more and more in his embrace. Slowly, as the new day approached, you were recovering the sense of control over yourself, and the fear of the future diminished, until it completely disappeared.
***
The first hours of the next day were something between dream and reality, for you witnessed – well, you listened to – curious things, but had no ways to decide if they indeed happened or if they were just your imagination.
At some point, you woke up, but didn’t open your eyes. You sensed you were alone in the bed, but it was still warm, and you supposed that Hades might have left moments ago. Though the room was quiet, you had the impression that your husband was in the living room with a visitor – paying close attention, you recognized Poseidon’s composed tone. They had a brief talk when most of what was said was in a foreign, ancient language that, thanks to the lessons given by your husband, you identified as Greek.
Apparently, Poseidon was going to leave Valhalla that day and came to see his brother before the travel. Besides the rapid, murmuring exchange of words in Greek, there was some chuckling, so you had no idea of what was being said (and you'd rather remain oblivious to it).
But then the conversation turned to a language you were able to fully understand.
– You don’t need to worry about that – Hades was saying – She wasn’t in conditions anyway. The changing is being successful, but it has been taking too much from her mortal body. She had a bad fever during night, but it was gone last time I checked.
– Did you call Asclepius to see her? – Poseidon inquired.
– Yes. He gave her a potion for her discomfort, but she wasn’t really medicated – your husband replied – The process of having your biology rewritten, according to him, can take longer or shorter depending on your body’s conditions, and cannot be interrupted or altered by the ingestion of medicine. Besides, as the altered cells become the majority in one’s body, the process becomes easier, and their immune system no longer recognizes the mutation as a problem. I talked to him moments ago to keep him in touch with the situation. He believes that she will be one of us by the end of this day.
– I see – his brother said – If this is the case, then she has suffered less than Heracles, who almost had his body swallowed by fire.
Hades laughed at this.
– Yes, but, please, don’t say this in front of her next time you see us.
– Alright – Poseidon’s voice softened – Send my regards to her when she wakes up.
They exchanged a few words in Greek, then said their farewell in the common language.
– I must go, now. Goodbye, brother.
– Goodbye. Be well.
A door was opened at the distance, a few steps were heard beyond it, then the door was closed, followed by utter silence.
***
Extra content
This is part of what was said between the brothers in ancient Greek, alternated with laughter and inner jokes that are impossible to translate:
– Good morning, elder brother. I came to say farewell. Some things demand my immediate attention in the Seas.
– I see. Truth is that I was expecting to have your company during our breakfast, but I knew that it wouldn’t be possible.
– You and your not-so-subtle way to call me antisocial. Anyways, I would have communicated my intentions sooner, but we haven’t the chance to speak yesterday and I didn’t want to interrupt your moments together. So... I am not interrupting anything now, I hope.
– Absolutely not. But if you’ve showed up earlier, you would’ve found the doors locked.
– I wouldn’t judge you. Not after what we saw at the party. You would be a fool if you didn’t take measures to keep your runaway bride safe.
– Please, don’t say these things about her. With that gaze of yours upon me, I would’ve run if I was a human girl too!
– Watch your mouth, old man! She only ran after she saw you. She was perfectly fine with us.
– Hey!
– Speaking of this, how is she doing?
– A bit tired, but well. Sleeping like a little lamb.
– Hm... You already reached the phase of the ridiculous nicknames, brother?
– Everyone reaches that phase, sooner or later. Just wait.
– Hmpf. I won’t have you cursing my fate, old man.
– It’s not a curse. You’ll thank me later.

my detailed thoughts on the first season of Percy jackson.
Cons:
The pacing, I know everyone says this, but really the pacing of this season was all over the place. having 8 episodes while probably the only option for the writing team really hurt the series overall. Adding an additional episode would helped keep things better I think and would allow a better flow. Not to mention it would help keep things structured in a 3 act system with a beginning, middle, and end that a lot of stories, are told in which would have just fit and flowed better. I would prefer 12 eps, for each act having 4 eps, but that is greedy since they're probably going to be stuck with 8 for the rest of the series too
Lightning, the series was just too dark in a lot of scenes, I didn't have much of a problem because I watched on my smarttv, but I know a lot of people who watched on computers or phones had trouble
The beginning, there should have been more episodes in Camp Half-Blood, at least 1 more. I get that the meat of the story is in the journey, but by not establishing camp half-blood as the first place Percy felt like home it makes it feel emptier. I do like how they including flashbacks of luke training percy in the finale but I would have liked more in camp half blood before the start
There's a less wonder and magic in the series than there was in the books. I don't really know how to describe it, but the books made it feel like there were two worlds hiding within each other and there is magic everywhere. Just small things like Ares turning his lost shield into a bullet proof vest because that's the more modern take.
I'm not with a vocal part of the fandom that bitch and moan over the kids not falling into every trap, I like that Percy is smarter, but instead of just making him smarter, I think they should have just had him ask more questions, like if he was a 12 year old with ADHD who had his eyes open to a world. By making him ask questions, it would help let them explain the world more by having people answer Percy, instead of him knowing everything. Certain things I think could have been done better, like the Kronos reveal and the Luke reveal, it could be done as a reveal instead of Percy figuring it out and I think it would have worked better. like have Percy realize it when talking through the prophecy with Luke because Luke mentions the bolt and the helm, something Percy wouldn't have told him or anyone at camp.
For the most part, I like how they did the gods, with the exception with Zeus and Athena. Zeus is such a larger than life figure, as much as I love Lance Riddick's performance, he played him too epic. The Zeus from the books feels more like a powerful blowhard while the series makes him feel too cool to me. As for Athena, I'll admit I'm bias because she's my favorite god but I don't like her being made the villain in Annabeth's story especially offscreen. I get that they're playing up the gods being shit more than the books and since they made Poseidon more sympathetic, making Athena more antagonistic is a choice to make. I just don't think it fits her cold and logical, but still cares about her kids in her way that she was portrayed in the books.
Grover. I honestly like a lot of the things they added to his character, but I wish they didn't take away from his canon character moments. Not many, but I liked him being a different species than Percy and Annabeth, he isn't human, he's part goat and instead of the books stuff, he's more just a kid with different legs and short horns than another creature. Also by taking away his reed pipes and not showing him being able to do magic, it limits the character.
While people complain about the show... showing not telling, I feel like there was a lack of exposition in the show that wasn't there in the books. It kind of goes with Percy being smarter in the show than the books, but there's a lot of stuff left out of the show that is good world building. small example, no one mentions that monsters don't die for good, which is a very important plot point in heroes of olympus, even if they don't make it, it's a good thing to tell a new demi-gods. Or other plot points, like Annabeth wanting to see her father after all these years, despite how badly things broke before, which just kind of resolves offscreen.
Honestly though, it was only the fandom that ever really bothered me. Too many people focusing on uncharitable changes about the series that had to be made since there is a difference between a first person perspective book series and a tv series that they had to make. That they couldn't fit everything into an 8 ep series that's in a whole book
Pros:
Honestly, one of the best adaptions I've seen despite all the cons.
The acting in the show is awesome, the actors for the kids are young but perfect for the roles they were assigned. they might not look like the books, but I genuinely think it doesn't matter if they're going to be this good. Walker, Leah, and Aryan stand out as the stars of this show and for good reason
I really like the way they portrayed Luke in the tv series, I get the twist in the books, but by bringing up stuff with him earlier I think it makes him more sympathetic. I also think by not including the scorpion to kill Percy, and instead make it clear Luke doesn't want to kill Percy makes him feel more like a kid making a dumb decision instead of someone willing to murder a 12 year old.
I like how they portrayed Sally in the show even if some people disagree. I like that she shows more flaws and character than just being the sweetest saddest woman that she was in the books. As much as Sally loves Percy, him not only being a demi-god, but a neurodivergent kid, it wears on any parent's patience, especially a single mother. Having her get angry and lose her temper, having us as the viewers know what she's been through makes her feel more real and fits better for a tv show.
I like most of the effects, I think it fits in the show and looks better than a lot of blockbuster movies. Lightning aside. I think the monsters looked good and so did the magic even if I think the latter could be better
Honestly, I think the fight scenes were great for a disney show where the main character is supposed to be 12. I know people are annoyed with how short they are, but that's how they were in the books. I think they were adapted fine.
I like that since we're not in Percy's head, we get more of Annabeth and Grover. It feels like a real proper adventuring trio than the books where it felt like it was so Percy focused with Annabeth being the secondary main and grover being a main, but kind of sidekick character. Letting Grover and Annabeth be characters, to have scenes without Percy and changing things from the books, like having Annabeth seeing the fates cut the thread, makes more sense when you're not doing a first person books
Overall I think they changed things in a very fair and pragmatic sense. There were a lot, but there were less egergious than the movie that changed the whole plot.

Sooo, just a small comment on some of the things I loved in the finale of PJO.
There are obviously gonna be spoilers here soo...
-The fight between Percy and Ares!!! I loved the wave and now it was a subtle way of showing Poseidon was indeed beside him.
-The scenes between Percy and Luke!!! "Look, you didn't want to be a half-blood...". I loved the addition of these flashbacks of Luke teaching Percy to fight.
-Olympus! Omg, it was so pretty!!!
-Percy immediately being a total little shit with Zeus, I loved that!
-Poseidon showing up to protect Percy!
-Percy understanding only the word for "father" in Ancient Greek. He knows it because of Sally!
-"Ares is a moron."
-Overall the whole exchange between Percy and Poseidon. It really is a big step from him being all bitter and it was a bit corny but I liked it still.
-When Percy reveals Luke is the Lightning thief!
-Luke not fighting Percy at first. I have thoughts about the whole thing but I'll put them later on.
-Luke snapping for a moment and attacking Percy only after he mentions his father.
-Annabeth and her dagger!
-"Wait, your name is Percy!" And later "I don't think so", This was sooo hilarious. Especially when you think about how he initially tried to lie to him he's his dad. I'm pretty sure Dionysus knows his and everyone's name very well, he just likes being a jerk.
-"Some place called Disneyland", tbh, I feel like Annabeth won't be thrilled. I certainly wasn't and I was still am pretty childish as a kid.
-Grover's license!
-Their pact! That was so cute!
-"What did you dream of?" "Grandpa.". For a moment there I was like "What!? Are they tring to make it look like it was all a dream or that they're trying to make it as if Sally doesn't remember!?" but a moment later I was like "Nope, that's Percy Jackson, of course he'd refer to Kronos as his grandpa even tho he's his biggest enemy rn"
-Blue pancakes!
-When Percy and Sally were leaving the apartment, Percy's last narrative and the rain outside!
-The devastating moment when I thought we're not seeing Gabe turned into a statue but juuuust in case skipping the credits (call it a feeling or sth) and...
-GABE TURNING INTO A STATUE!!!! I'm honestly so happy! I'm not even mad Sally didn't do it as it was implied in the books. But she was divorcing him! I know he wasn't portrayed as bad as he was in the books in the TV show but I still believe he was emotionally abusing and he was still a jerk even tho it was toned down. Also, he was such an annoying, whiny bit-$(#..
...
That's all I can think of rn, even tho I believe there were other things too.
Now, I gotta admit I've read the book a looong time ago so I don't remember everything in great details but I noticed lots of the changes in the episode and throughout the whole season. I still enjoyed the show a lot, tho. Most of the changes made sense and like... Come on, it's an adaptation! And Rick Riordan was involved in the process so I believe he knew what he was doing with all these changes.
Tbh, I liked the first two episodes a lot, then idk, the third, maybe fourth too, were a tiiny bit meh to me but overall, I loved it and loved the last couple of episodes! I have mixed feelings for some things like them knowing about Medusa, the Lotus casino and other stuff but again, I trusted the process and it worked! It's only 8 episodes and there was a lot to happen there so I can see why these changes were needed. Figuring all out would have taken them a lot of time. Also, it was as much for new fans as it was for new ones so of course some things had to be made differently. For example, how the whole thing about who would betray Percy was done.
I've been watching lots of videos and posts of new fans who haven't read the books and I was cackling like an old hag at their assumptions how it was gonna be Grover or sth. And you just can't convince me that episode 7 and Annabeth getting caught by one of the roots wasn't with the exact purpose of making people think "Oh, they are friends now, what if it's her?" It was really well-played. And let's not forget how everyone was like "Luke! Babyboy, so precious." Can't wait to see everyone's reactions now... (Luke is still these things, even though he is "bad guy")
Speaking of Luke, again, haven't read the books in a while but I somewhat don't remember him and Percy being that close and being such good buddies. Idk, might need to read them again but even though I didn't mind that dynamic too much, I really thought this is more like how Luke and Annabeth should have been. I feel like we needed more interactions between them. Also, Luke speaks randomly about her twice, first telling Percy about her and calling her "my little sister" and then last episode giving that example with the spiders (nopee, I don't believe itt, she won't crush it, she'll scream and run unless it's a huge spider, then she'll fight it because of her bf) but she barely (if not ever) mentioned him? Yeah, she mentioned Thalia but almost nothing of Luke?? How are you gonna convince me that was her hero!? She should have been broken by his betrayal much more than Percy! Also, they kinda made Luke somewhat of a big softie, I thought it was because then his betrayal would have been more devastating but nope, there wasn't some kind of a 180° turn in his behaviour. Wonder why, to make him more relatable or? I want to see how his further actions are going to play out in this scenario...
Anywayy, all in all, I enjoyed the show a lot and I hope there is a next season. I want to see how the story will proceed on the screen (and I hope the changes we keep getting aren't anything too essential).

Keeping up with the Olympians
#kuwto
Episode 8:
Preview: Zeus and Hera finally reconcile! Poseidon and Amphitrite face a new problem. Apollo is on cloud 9 with Hyacinthus, while Ares and Hephaestus have a big fight. Athena and Artemis decide to take the next big step in their relationship. Many more to follow on this unholy episode!
________
Scene 1: (Ares and Hephaestus)
Hephaestus' confessional:
It was a nightmare having Athena bring here Ares' shield. But what can I do? Ares wouldn't come to talk if I asked him to...
Ares: There is my shield!
Hephaestus: Yeah, here it is!
Ares: And why did Athena leave it here?
Hephaestus: Actually, I wanted to talk to you...
Ares: Be done! I don't have all day!
Hephaestus: Well, I wanna apologize for my behavior. I know I shouldn't have intervened in your relationship with Aphrodite. You already built a family together! I did all that because I needed the reassurance that I was important and that my presence in this mountain isn't vain! I know it is not a justification of my actions, but I understand my mistake now and I wanna apologize to you because you are my older brother, and my behavior towards you was egotistical and cruel!
Ares: Are you done?
Hephaestus: Yeah, unless you want to say something back!
Ares: Does that apology make you feel good?
Hephaestus: Not entirely, but it is something-
Ares: Cut it! An apology doesn't erase what you did!
Hephaestus: I know but-
Ares: I don't wanna hear anything! All my life I was nice to you, and you stabbed my back!
Hephaestus: You were nice? I don't think you really were nice to me ever!
Ares: Oh really?
Hephaestus: Exactly!
Ares: When everyone was making fun of you I didn't even flinch! You were crying alone while I explained to everyone how awful it was of them to make fun of you! Even Athena made fun of you but you hold her in a higher place than everyone! And that's one of the reasons no one likes me on this stupid mountain!
Hephaestus: Wait, really?
Ares: Yes!
Hephaestus: But you never came to console me?
Ares: You think that only your life was a living hell? I was neglected too when I was young! And don't make me remember that no one came to look for me when I was trapped in that fucking jar!
Ares turns and leaves
Hephaestus: And I guess there is bad blood again!
______________
Scene 2: (Apollo and Hyacinthus)
Apollo: Babe! Are you having a good time?
Hyacinthus: Yes!
Apollo's confessional:
That pool party we have established every weekend is simply great! Just me and him with no clothes! (winks)
Apollo: What do think about moving in with me?
Hyacinthus: Really? You want to live with me?
Apollo: Yes! Absolutely honey!
Hyacinthus: Don't you think it's a little early to think about it?
Apollo: You have all the time in the world to think! I don't pressure you!
Hyacinthus: Ok, I'll move with you!
Apollo: That's what I like to hear!
Insert Kiss scene with both of them naked
Artemis: Apollo, you won't believe-
Artemis: AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!
Apollo and Hyacinthus cover themselves frantically
Artemis: My eyes! My eyes! Where is the bleach!
Apollo: What are you doing here?
Artemis with her back to them: I was looking for you to tell you something, but you traumatized me for life?
Apollo: What is it?
Artemis: Where is the bleach?
Apollo: What do you want it?
Artemis: To erase that image off my mind!
Apollo: Stop being silly! What did you want to tell me?
Artemis: Are you covered?
Apollo: We have wrapped towels around us, turn around!
Artemis turns around
Artemis: Ares and Hephaestus fought badly, and Poseidon with Amphitrite decided to help in Hera's satanic plan to catch Zeus in the act!
Apollo: NO WAY!
Artemis: YES WAY!
Apollo: Let's go!
Hyacinthus: What about me?
Apollo: I'll take care of you when I come back! (winks)
Artemis: Eeeeewwwww!

Scene 3: (Hera, Poseidon and Amphitrite in Poseidon's sea getaway)
Amphitrite whispering to Poseidon: I don't think that helping Hera is a good idea!
Poseidon: She is my older sister, I don't really have a choice here!
Amphitrite: Low blow.
Hera enters
Hera: Well, I tried to track him through the monitor detector on his wedding ring but nothing! I can't detect his location!
Poseidon: Are you sure?
Hera: I tried it over a 100 times!
Amphitrite: Maybe he took off his wedding ring?
Hera: What?
Poseidon: Oh no!
Amphitrite: I mean, if he is with another woman why would he wear his wedding ring?
Hera: You are dead!
Poseidon: Calm down, you'll cause a typhoon!
Amphitrite screaming: Poseidon help! This bitch pulls my hair!
Hera: Who did you call a bitch?
Amphitrite: You of course!
Hera: Poseidon!
Poseidon: Ladies, we can solve it in a peaceful way! And this is not what you should be doing now Hera!
Hera leaves Amphitrite's hair
Hera: You are right...
Amphitrite: Well, deal with it yourselves, I don't wanna meddle in any drama!
Amphitrite departs
Hera: Now what?
Poseidon: I have an idea...
________________
Scene 3: (Hermes, Dionysos and Ariadne)
Dionysos: I love you babe!
Ariadne laying on his chest: I love you too!
Both are ready to kiss until Hermes barges in
Hermes: What are you doing here you little lovebirds?
Dionysos: Now that you barged in like that, nothing!
Hermes cheekily: Did I spoil your fun?
Ariadne: Anyway, what did you want?
Hermes: Did you forget that we were about to have a Pyjama party tonight?
Dionysos: Oops!
Ariadne: And I was horny!
Hermes: Well, I can leave the room and I'll be back in 5 minutes.
Dionysos confused: 5 minutes?
Hermes: Will it take longer?
Dionysos: Excuse me?
Ariadne: Not this again!
Hermes: How long do you two fuck?
Dionysos: I'm the god of parties! Do you think I fuck in just 5 minutes?
Hermes: I don't know man!
Dionysos: Wait!
Hermes: Don't you say it!
Dionysos: You only last 5 minutes?
Hermes: No! I was just teasing you!
Dionysos: No way!
Dionysos falls back in laughter
Ariadne: I guess no sex today....
________________
Scene 4: (Athena, Artemis and Hephaestus)
Hephaestus: So all that happened with Ares....
Athena: Wow, I must admit he was right...
Artemis: I agree.
Hephaestus: I feel so bad!
Athena: Look, Ares loves you. I think you should give him time. He won't hold grudge against you.
Artemis: Even though his ego is big, he is an understanding person!
Hephaestus: I guess it was too early indeed!
Athena: Well, don't worry. Everything will be okay.
Hephaestus: I guess so.
Artemis: Well, let's talk about something happy!
Athena: We have something to announce!
Artemis: It was a hard decision, but I think it will worth it.
Hephaestus: Come on! Do tell me!
Athena: We'll take the next big step in our relationship!
Hephaestus: Honestly, you are made for each other...
Athena holds Artemis' hand with big eyes
Hephaestus: Well?
Artemis: We'll adopt a puppy!
Hephaestus:..............
Athena: I thought you would be happy...
Hephaestus: I am, but I expected something more tremendous.
Artemis: Like?
Hephaestus: I don't know, something like moving in together like Apollo with Hyacinthus did.
Artemis: Eeeewwww! Don't remind me!
Athena: What happened?
Artemis: I saw them kissing by the pool! Naked!
Athena: Oh....
Hephaestus: I mean, sounds logical to me.
Athena: We assexuals don't relate!
Hephaestus: I think I'll turn assexual too.
Artemis: Why so?
Hephaestus: No one loves me, so...
Athena: No, don't say that!
Artemis: You are great just the way you are, others are idiots for not seeing that!
Hephaestus: You say that? You both were making fun of me being ugly! Only Ares didn't!
Athena:........
Artemis:..........
Hephaestus: I'm leaving!
______________
Scene 5: (Demeter, Persephone and Hestia)
The three of them shake their salads and proceed to eat them
Persephone: What will Hera do?
Demeter: I don't know honey, she and Poseidon are on some wild shit right now.
Hestia: Why all that drama? Can't they just sit down like grown ups and solve their differences?
Demeter: Sometimes it is just too much!
Hestia: Persephone what will you do with Hades?
Persephone: I decided to give it a chance. It may not be bad afterall.
Demeter: In this case I agree.
Persephone: You never agree with Hades, so this time that you did agree I decided to go for it.
Hestia: Mother-daughter time is the best!
Demeter: When are gonna leave?
Persephone: Probably tomorrow. He must be so alone!
Hestia: What do you think about the Ares-Hephaestus thing?
Demeter: I kinda agree with Ares on this one! The boy always loved his brother!
Persephone: I agree too! We were all awful to the both of them.
Hestia: I think they will reconcile, they love each other.
Persephone: Oh! I didn't tell you!
Hestia: What?
Persephone: Artemis walked in on Apollo and Hyacinthus making out naked by the pool!
Demeter: WHAT? WHEN?
Persephone: Artemis wanted to rip her eyes off!
Hestia: I don't blame her!
Demeter: Hilarious!
Persephone: So much happened this week!
Demeter: That's good fir our show actually!
Hestia: No money, no honey!

Scene 6: (Zeus, Hera and Poseidon)
Poseidon: It will sure work!
Hera: I hope it will!
Poseidon: Hug me, here he comes!
Hera and Poseidon hug each other romantically to make Zeus jealous
Zeus: What's going on here?
Poseidon: I realised that I was married to the wrong woman all this time!
Hera: Me too! Thanks to your infidelities I found my true love!
Zeus: You are joking, right?
Poseidon: Not at all!
Hera: I'm dead serious!
Zeus: I will also be dead serious when I bury you alive Poseidon!
Zeus storms onto Poseidon
Hera: Babe! No!
Zeus: Don't call him babe!
Poseidon: Why? Jealous?
Zeus: I'll kill you!
Hera: Enough! Both of you! Zeus, it was a set up!
Zeus: Huh?
Hera: I wanted you to see what it is like to be cheated on!
Poseidon: Yes dude, now get off me!
Zeus: Hera, I love you! I never wanted to hurt you!
Hera: I love you too! But do you promise to be faithful?
Zeus: I swear on Styx I will never cheat on you again!
Poseidon: ON STYX?
Hera: I'm also surprised...
Zeus: Yeah, on Styx! I swear eternal faithfulness!
Zeus' confessional:
I really mean it this time! Enough is enough!
Hera's confessional:
I was taken aback, but alt least I get to sleep peacefully again!
_______________
Scene 7: (Hades and Persephone)
Persephone: Hades!
Hades: Honey!
Persephone: I'm so sorry babe! I shouldn't have acted like that!
Hades: I'm sorry! It was stupid of me to do such a thing!
Persephone: No, no! You were right. I thought about it and I concluded that it was not bad afterall.
Hades: Really my love?
Persephone: Yes! I love you!
Hades: No I love you more!
Persephone: No, I love you more!
Minoas: Not this again!
Hades: What did that little piece of shit say?
Persephone: He was happy to see us together again!
Minoas: Yes! That's it!
Hades: I'll let it slide this time...
Persephone: Hades, I missed your hammer!
Hades: Let's take you to see it then? (winks)
Hades lifts Persephone up and takes her to their bedroom
Minoas: Hammer?
Minoas:..........
Minoas: Oooooooohhhhhhhh! I gotta go!

Percy Jackson spoilers episode 8
I'm not joking, i commented everything.
(i'm putting the episode in pause to write everything... So i don't have to do 10000 posts about this episode, so if you are reading this, hold your horses because this is going to be a long post (probably) not edited, from a person watching this in Europe starting to watch this at 3:11 am... And English is not my first language, so...sorry before hand)
LUKE!!! LUKE TALKING?! REALLY?! LIKE... COME ON!!! Don't do this to me... Not me vibing with the foreshadowing just in the begining of the episode.
THOSE WHO WENT ALL "WUAHHH WHERE'S THE TRAING LESSON FROM LUKE?" HERE IT IS!!! YOU REALLY THOUGHT THEY WON'T SHOW IT BEFORE MAKING PERCY FIGHT A GOD?! (I mean, they could have...but come on!... That would have being insane and would have make Percy to op and this works perfectly to remind us the "bond" between Percy and Luke at camp, just before what readers knew It was going to happen)
Oh~ i love the Ares doesn't take well that others think he can't have a single original thought... But i LOVE more that he literally decided to go with the "say hi to your mommy for me" like... Ares my man, god of war, sir... You fucked up so badly with just that... That kid is going to make Hephaestus and his chain-net over you and Aphrodite look like a fun story after Percy "son of Sally" Jackson finish humilliate you.
Aaaaand we got golden Blood + enemy for Life (Where's the curse, sir? Where's the "your sword will fail you when you most need it"?)
Uh! Pretty helmet~ I said it before, and i repeat myself, Hades has good taste in art.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like the "the last war on olympus caused wwii" and not like the book, i like It better this way, like "everything is the gods fault" because It is. (I'm sure Luke will comment this at some point)
Also, Annabeth clueless because she wasn't there... I'm like, yeah, it's the one of the trio that could catch up just by context, she IS the wise girl after all.
THE NECKLACE WITH HER FATHER'S RING!!! OMG!!!! ANNABETH, DARLING, DEAR... I LOVE THIS, SO MUCH.
(Leah is Annabeth, look at her!!! If someone says something bad about her acting just because their racism... i hope Apollo write their names in the plague list or the bad music for the rest of their lifes one... I hope there's a list for that)
Grover: e-mail? Maybe?
Percy: *nah, it's time those gods know what they are dealing with* what's the Glory on that?
(Walter, dear boy, your face in that moment...perfect Percy moment just there)
OH MY GODS!!! I NEED A TOUR IN THAT OLYMPUS!!! but again...WHY THE FUCKING ARCHES?!?!?!
Tumblr media
Okay... Hold on! HOLD ON!!! THEY DID A THING HERE I THINK COULD EXPLAIN THE FUCKING ARCHES...THE ARCHERS MIGHT NOT GIVE ME NIGHTMARES.
(Look behind, there are temples with easter asian architecture and i spot a building that reminds me a bit of Santa Sofia or Saint Peter of the Vatican... So... Maybe they are implying that not only the greek gods are chilling there in olympus? That could be interesting.)
Luke, i'm seeing you...
WoW!! Wooooo!!! Not the Annabeth IS terrify of spiders coming now and from him, Luke himself, just to say "hey! Demigods are small but if the gods thinks you are scary they'll kill you" GODS they are MAKING Luke soooo much justice, like, he needs to be like this if they didn't portrait him like this "big brother figure" it would be incomprehensible that so many Demigods will follow him. He IS a leader. He IS reliable.
Tumblr media
Seriously, i'm in LOVE with all that Big city vibe of the olympus... Like... I Understand why Annabeth wants to be architect after seeing all that. (Disney, you better give us something good in the 5th season, and i have high hopes for the laberinth after seeing this)
I'm so sad about the death of Zeus actor... I'm liking a lot how he is acting Zeus, like a fucking CEO know-it-all Who thinks Percy is wasting his time saying things he already know but doesn't want to believe yet. "I will not be weaken by my brothers" darling, Zeus, that's the youngest brother part of you speaking. Shut the fuck up and listen to the kid.
Percy speaks facts.
Oh!!! Daddy Ken, i mean, Poseidon is here, protecting his kid~. (Better solution than turning him into a tree, actually showing up, heh!)
BEG YOUR FUCKING PARDON!? IM ALREADY EMOTIONAL BECAUSE MY OTHER FICTIONAL FATHER FIGURE IN MY OTHER SILLY SHOW MIGHT DIE THIS FRYDAY... WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU MADE POSEIDON SAY "I SURRENDER" TWICE!!! TO FUCKING ZEUS!!! TO PROTECT PERCY?! I FUCKING LOVE THE SHOW.
Hermes IS the FUCKING snitch of the olympus.
Poseidon : "Who knows about father?"
Zeus: "Ares, Hades, you, i... And fucking Hermes so..."
Both: "everyone, then..."
He really asked Mr. Impertinent if he is obedient?! Hahahaha... Poseidon, dear beach daddy, sir... He is yours and Sally's, what makes you think he'll be obedient?!
"Ares IS a moron" sooooo ... Percy speaks facts because he speaks his father language then. Sorry, this is funnier than i thought It would be. Poseidon being an affectionate father for like 3 seconds before the daddy issues kicked in and push his son away with magic...
Tumblr media
THIS. This here with the victorius Hero looking at the defeated who even "dead" had safe his life. Because the mention of Thalia's death was enough for Zeus to spare Percy's life... She had save Percy by being dead and make her father feel guilty for that. Also, he left camp making jokes about the tree and Thalia's death, and look how serious and respectful he looks now. Admiring that tree, Thalia, and all what she means to the demigods... (Maybe i'm reading too much into It, but i liked this frames too much)
Did i spot a pair of twins?! I need the second season NOW and i'm not even half way of the last episode of the first one...
SECOND HUG OF ANNABETH TO PERCY!!! AND HE IS SMILING!!! BOY I WANT TO HUG THEM BOTH... MY BABYS...
Oh~ they are going to do this "Clarise IS guilty but we couldn't risk a war here" to the end so the show watchers don't see It coming. Okay... I like how they are doing this.
Luke and Percy alone in the forest while Annabeth watches Clarise... Yeah... This is it.
I like the lights changing colors because of the fireworks but just giving more dramatic contrast to all the scene. Oh~ Luke's face... My gods!! (These kids are making me insane with how good actors they are!!!)
Luke trying to recruit Percy because he sees himself reflected in Percy, with their mothers suffering because of the gods. "This wasn't to betray you Percy. My enemies are the gods." SEE!!! RIGHT THERE!!! THAT'S A BOY ABOUT TO REBEL AGAINST HIS FATHER, TRYING TO RECRUIT HIS FRIENDS BECAUSE HE IS RIGHT BUT USING THE WORSE WAYS POSSIBLE TO DO THINGS!!!
I said it before, and i'm saying It again... I LOVE THE SHOW.
BACKBITER!!!!! OH MY GODS!!! THAT SWORD IS...HAVE YOU ALL SEE THAT!!! IT FUCKING CUT ANYTHING.
"WE is the word Zeus fear most." And again, as i said above, he is so RIGHT and so wrong at the same time. Luke speech is a 10/10
Percy's reaction. PERCY'S REACTION!!! first to Luke's speech. And then when he wounded Luke with his own sword, he INMEDIATELY apologize to him. "Sorry, i didn't mean to..." Because he knows Luke is being manipulated by Cronos, he still sees him as a friend. And that's why he is scared, also because Luke cut him back, but because his friend is choosing to betray him.
WOOOO!!! ANNABETH?! WOOOOO... LUKE'S FACE!!! ANNABETH'S FACE!!! MY GODS!!! THOSE KIDS!!!
Chiron: "Cronos is persuasive"
Percy: "i'm a seaweed brain, stubborn as fuck... I'll be fine..."
I love Dionysus. Like...
Dionysus: "wait, wait, wait... Peter Johnson, why is everyone calling you Percy?"
Percy: "i'm Percy Jackson, that's my name"
Dionysus: "are you sure? You don't look like a Percy to me, Peter"
A seaweed brain, has being delivered and i'm vibing, living, happy...
ANNABETH IS GOING TO DISNEYWORLD AND PERCY SMILING MADE HER WORRY SHE WILL BE IN TROUBLE THERE!!! SHE IS SO ADORABLE!!! I'LL PROTECT THAT CHILD WITH MY LIFE, I SWEAR TO ALL THE GODS!!!
Grover!!! GROVER TELLING PERCY HE IS GOING TO SEARCH FOR PAN IN THE SEA!!! AND PERCY ACTING LIKE A NEPO BABY!!! LOVED IT!!!
Baby coming back to the beach House... Sally!!!!!!!!!!
Nooooooooooo... Fucking Cronos!!!!
Sally: *all worried* "another nightmare?"
Persassy: "grampa"
Sally: *i swear i saw her roll her eyes* "don't call him that"
I LIKE THE END OF GABE!!!! FUCK YOU GABE!!! Sally is divorcing him, change the locks and his first question to his lawyer is if he knows how to pick a lock... Fuck you, Gabe~
He turning himself into a statue because he opened a box for Percy (wich IS illegal) and after he called the head of Medusa gross... Poetic justice.
(i'm ending to watch this and write this at 5:22... My brain isn't braining anymore. So... Tomorrow i'll post a separated part about the thrones of the gods and maybe trying to put my degree in good use and picking all the art references i could and make a post about them)

PJO Live Reaction Episode 8 Finale Time
Minor spoilers for the books/possible upcoming events
Wait hold a rephrasing of the opening lines by Luke?!?!
Be still my beating heart
Luke and Percy practice scene! Oh the foreshadowing. Yeah Luke. When will Percy ever need to learn how to fight another swordsman? Ok. The rules speech is good.
Percy you impertinent cute little badass.
Fight scene fight scene! Not much to say on fight scenes tbh
C'mon Percy! Control that water! Let's go Son of Poseidon!
First blood! Percy won!
I think that was faster than in the books, but eh
Oh. Ares didn't curse him? But that comes back to bite Percy later doesn't it? Kinda missing out on the curse...
Well they got the helm at least.
Oh? Sudden cute little bungalow? Oh wait. It looks like the Montauk cabin, doesn't it?
Hi Alecto
Poor Annabeth is so out of the loop
Percy does have some manners
I kind of like Alecto tbh
So....how do they get the money for the flight if there's no crowd to feed a sob story to and raise money?
"Zeus will never let you leave alive." "I'm done running from monsters." OOOH Get rekt Zeus. Honestly, the Olympians should be groveling to Percy to not join Kronos
Oh, Annabeth's necklace does have the college ring on it. I think i missed that in a previous episode
Grover. "This could have been an e-mail." Underwood Everybody
Oh so we just magically get to New York? What? How? From California?
Percy is so fucking done with this shit
#letpercysayfuck2k24
Olympus is beautiful tho. I love the gold accented Corinthian columns
Luke comparing demigods to spiders? *Chef's kiss*
*Manifesting bi!Percy and a crush on Luke* I'm Percabeth all the way, but them both having complex feelings for Luke is too good
*One thousand steps later*
Hello Zeus
Oh sweet Percy. Zeus does not want to hear that. He doesn't believe you. He doesn't want to. Wait. He's admitting Kronos even has any power? But...he's continuing this war. Of course he is.
Percy. Zeus doesn't listen to reason....
Oh boy... Percy spitten facts Zeus isn't going to like
Thank you Poseidon! Oh this is good.
Is...is Zeus actually gonna do shit about Kronos? Or just pretend to make himself look good?
Ooh, Father Son meeting time!
Its ok Percy, you'll get better at ancient Greek. And Latin, if I remember right, he's surprisingly good at it for a Greek.
"Do you ever dream about mom?" Just stab me
And back to CHB!
Have I mentioned I like how the have Thalia's tree in the vague shape of a human? Nice touch
Baby Percabeth Hug!
Oh guys. Clarisse didn't steal the bolt
Luke is taking full advantage of this
Oh I don't like this splitting of the party...
Oh no Oh no Oh no
Percy. That's not the oracle line you should be remembering right now
There you go. Worry about the Betrayal line
Oh wait he figured it out
Lame
I mean, the shoes were kind of a giveaway
But still
Oh good. I always wondered why Luke didn't try harder to recruit Percy
Oh ok. Hi Backbiter?
Still not sure how he does that. The sword just, opens doors?
I like how Luke's scar looks more like a tear track than anything else tbh (yes yes, there still a whole discourse about scarred villains. i don't wanna touch that right now. Luke looks good ok?)
Annabeth! Oh that's a fun change
Not sure if it's a good one yet. But interesting
I do like how they changed Luke's betrayal to just after the quest, it feels more like how the prophecies usually play out, that is, all happening within a short time frame rather than months (besides the great prophecies of course)
Y'know, I wonder if we'll get an adaption to Luke's Diary/Demigod files story with Luke, Thalia, and Hal in later seasons? I hope so
I can't wait to see the reactions of all those fans who never read the books and were gushing about Luke and being so sure he was NOT the traitor (Not in a mean way, just in a let chaos reign way)
Chiron is worried about Percy being kidnapped/defecting? Fair
Percy. Yes. You are Very stubborn.
Ah! The proud comment from Chiron!
Dionysus is killing me here
Annabeth looks cute with that hair. Oh her commentary about Disney World is adorable!
Grover got his searcher's license!!!
Oh ok, so Grover is planning to go to sea?

I mean, the ending is sweet and all, Percy and Sally are adorable. But...Gabe? Hello? Not gonna tie up that plot?
Oh. Ok. End credits Gabe scene
Oh bitch got the locks changed on him
Good for Sally
Oh! Hello Hermes Express!
Opening someone else's male in a crime gabe
Get fucked
Do I like that it was an accident instead of intentional? I'm...not sure actually
Overall thoughts:
I really liked the finale! Some of the changes made sense, some did not. It feels like a lot happened, pacing was a bit weird. The father son reunion could have gone better, but could have been worse to. Might have been better as two eps but eh. Sally and Annabeth were great, Percy was adorable, I was so scared for him when Zeus nearly killed him. He was really going off tho, good for him I really liked Luke this ep. It was a lot of good set up and foreshadowing. I like that Chiron caught on that well Luke isn't entirely wrong and Percy would be very dangerous if he worked with Kronos.
I really want a season 2. I loved Sea of Monsters, and I'm exited for Tyson! He's one of the best characters. I also really like Clarisse so that will be good. Not to mention Thalia's revival!
I've seen a few comments about how the kids are just figuring everything out, and I kind of agree. I would like to see them bamboozled a bit more like with Clarisse as the thief. I also would have preferred if their disabilities were a bigger part of the story/plot/characterization. It was a big part of the books, and it was why they were written in the first place, so I wish it was touched on more
Overall, there were some good part and some not so good parts. I'm still hoping for a season 2. Hopefully they can tighten up the pacing a bit, and work on some more tension in the plot.
I am so hoping we get all 5 seasons, and maybe more but I doubt it. I really want season 3 and the di Angelo siblings.
Also. Where is my Magnus Chase series????

my thoughts on the pjo tv show (spoilers for episode 8) pt 2
6. speaking of VFX, why. They took the time to animate Grover's legs (something mostly unnecessary due to the fact that he wears jeans, fake feet and a hat to hide his goat-ness) in favor of other small things such as Ares' eyes, or Zeus' "flashy" exit from the throne room, or the throne room in general, or the size of the gods (something that could be done with practical effects). 7. Percy's ADHD. It just simply wasn't there. I don't have the authority to speak on the dyslexia side of things, but it felt like they replaced Percy's ADHD with some sort of hallucination-like thing that everyone around him gaslit him into thinking he had. It felt very odd and jarring at times, and while similar events happen in the books, all of the adults around him seemed very determined to like, hospitalize him or something. (This is no hate towards anyone who has visual hallucinations, it just felt like a very weird and slightly ableist (?) approach to the matter that really didn't do either ADHD nor hallucinations any real justice in terms of how it was) [i can't word this correctly i'm sorry] 8. The timeline. They had Grover throw Percy under the bus (for literally no reason) and then immediately whisk him off to montauk in the middle of the school year. (in the books it feels more natural because its at the end of the school term. which apparently it's the summer in the show? but the whole thing is really confusing). It was even more confusing when they show Sally returning because first he goes to montauk in his dream and then she's suddenly there when he wakes up and it begins at the end of the summer i guess?? Not to mention the whole weird portal thing with Luke. He didn't even mention his quest or why he felt personally betrayed by the gods. Just that he hated them because he hated feeling weak? Also Hermes and Hephaestus' appearances didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I feel like the way they escape the casino didn't need to be changed, and in changing it they took away some of Percy's insecurity because in the book he's like "wow I'm having fun with annabeth and grover to find-? who? my mom! how could i forget my mom? something's up". Another quick thing I'm taking on the end is Annabeth getting left behind in the Fields of Asphodel didn't make any sense to me. 9. Annabeth and Grover randomly giving Percy their stuff? It didn't make a lot of sense and was never explained. 10. Percy's main focus at CHB being less of "I want my mom back and I want my dad to pay child support" and more of "so if i do something cool my dad will notice? hmm" felt very odd and out of character. 11. This is less of a critique and more of just a whiny complaint but the series could've been set in 2005 and wasn't. 12. I understand that the show was never going to be a shot-by-shot retelling of the books and i never expected that, but the way they cut out/added scenes felt very erratic and was heavily dependent on the audience already being familiar with the material that I guess we were supposed to fill in the gaps ourselves? and a lot of people have been like "Rick's improving on the story!" and while there were some add-ins I enjoyed, I feel like they cut or changed too many important scenes to really keep the main idea of both the plot and characters. Time for stuff I liked! 1. Dionysus tricking Percy so he would get him a drink was fucking hilarious. 2. Luke's voiceover before Percy fighting Ares being a parallel with Percy's "Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood"? Poetic cinema. 3. Percy pushing Grover and Annabeth through the door at the Arch. Excessive personal loyalty anyone?
4. Grover and Annabeth dunking Percy in the fountain to heal his shoulder was really funny. Truely teenage dumbassery at its finest 5. I didn't like how there wasn't the lightning bolt that threw them off the road at the beginning, but I will give the scene points for looking scarily similar to how I pictured it in my head. 6. The raw quote from Poseidon in the throne room "Obedience does not come naturally to you, does it?" "No...sir." 7. AGE ACCURATE CASTING! This is something we all have been saying from the beginning, but I like acknowledging it again. :) 8. The layout of CHB. You can see just about everything from Half-Blood hill in the books and in the show it's all nice and spread out (as opposed to the Peter Johnson movies where you couldn't even see the next cabin over).
There's more things I have on both sides that I might think of and post about later, but for now that's all I've got. I really did try to approach the TV series with an open mind, but as a show altogether I didn't like it that much, and I really don't think it did The Lightning Thief justice. It's hard to adapt books to TV, but it is possible. I believe that if they had more than eight episodes it could've played out more smoothly, but there were just too many things that changed that didn't have to, and there was too many holes that were left because they cut out the wrong scenes. Kudos to everyone who worked hard on the show and I'm glad that other people enjoyed it. But please respect my opinion and if you have any point of discussion I'd be happy to talk about them with you in a polite, constructive way. Welcome new fans and hello again to old ones, go out and enjoy Percy Jackson and The Olympians, it's a great series (books and TV alike, even if i personally don't like the show)

“When, for example, Persephone is entrapped, her own naïveté defeats her, for she reaches out for the narcissus as for a lovely toy (kalon athyrma). The association of virginity with a state of childlike innocence and bliss was a common theme in Greek literature, facilitated by the young age at which it was traditional for women to marry.21 Many fragments of poetry from the archaic, classical and Hellenistic periods lament the loss of virginity as the passing of the carefree existence of childhood.22 In Theocritus' Idyll 18 the young maidens of Sparta address a marriage-song to Helen, who has been taken away from their company and from her mother's side, and can therefore no longer join them in play in the grassy meadow: Beautiful, graceful maiden, you're a housewife now, but we will go out early to the running-place and grass-fields gathering bunches of sweet flowers, thinking of you still, Helena, as young lambs long for the teats of their mother. (tr. B. Mills)
Other versions of Persephone's rape emphasize virginity itself rather than childish innocence, by including the goddesses Artemis and Athene among Persephone's companions.23 In Euripides (Helen 1314), the Orphic Hymn (Kern fr.49, 40-41), and Claudian (de raptu Proserpinae 2) these goddesses appear, and in Euripides and Claudian they defend the young girl: stimulât, communis in arma virginitas crimenque feri raptoris acerbat. [Their shared virginity goaded them to arms, And the crime of the brutal rapist stung them.] Claudian(2.207-8) The situation is very different in our hymn. Not only is Persephone without defenders, but other details emphasize the helplessness of all the women in the first section of the poem. Demeter wanders the earth in anguish over the loss of her daughter, unable to discover what has happened, and the one goddess from whom she solicits information is unable to provide it. In Claudian (3.55ff.) Zeus expressly prohibits the giving of this information, and in other versions the role of informant is variously distributed.24 Demeter's unsuccessful appeal to Hekate is unique to the Homeric version and, in addition, its function is not immediately apparent.25
The Sun, Moon, and Stars are commonly approached for information in mythology and folk-tale,26 but Hekate's association with the moon is Hellenistic. The key to the meaning of this episode lies in Hekate's Titan heritage. She, like Helios, was one of the generation who opposed Zeus' dominion and was eventually defeated. Hekate was subsequently honored by Zeus with unique and far-reaching privileges (Theogony 409ff.). But in this section of the hymn she only heard and did not see; the role of knowledgeable informer must thus pass to Helios, another Titan deity. Hekate had volunteered her skimpy information to Demeter in a spontaneous gesture of concern; Helios must be supplicated for his knowledge. Hekate's relative impotence thus parallels Demeter's (and Persephone's) own, and contrasts with her portrayal in the Theogony. Helios' superior position parallels the role of Zeus, for whom he acts as apologist: But goddess, stop your own great weeping. It does not fit you, this anger that's so vain and insatiate. He is not unworthy as son-in-law among the gods, Aidoneus, The Ruler of Many, your own brother, your own blood.
The contrast in the roles of Hekate and Helios, then, as well as their contrasting associations with darkness and light, respectively,27 point up the central opposition between the nature and power of the female and male deities. Furthermore, the only goddess whose potency is affirmed in this section of the hymn, Gaia [Earth], cooperates in the scheme to assert male dominion: Persephone was seduced by the beauty of the narcissus which Earth as a trick grew for this girl, as a favor for Him Who Receives So Many [Hades], and with Zeus allowing it…. The opening section of the hymn, then, has described the rape of Persephone and Demeter's reaction in such a way as to introduce a contrast between two kinds of existence for women. The first, the innocent virginal state, is a romantic paradise of carefree joy. It is like the symbiotic state of being in that the young girl exists in a condition of near-fusion with her mother and/or other women. The second, the patriarchal order controlled by men, carelessly and brutally disregards women's feelings and imposes helplessness upon them.”

8, 9, 13, 14, 26 for the ask game!! Sorry for being late, I saw this immediately after you reblogged it but I had to go to school and I forgot🫥
That’s okay!!! I went back to sleep anyways 😂😂
8. How many languages do you know?
I only know English 😅 I think it would be fun to learn Latin though! :)
9. What’s your all time favourite movie/tv show?
Right now my favourite tv shows are The Legend of Vox Machina and The Owl House!! (Because I love my found family fantasy adventure stories ahaha)
The Owl House is almost finished and I’ve been watching it since I was 16/17 so I’ll probably be very sad when it’s over lol, and it would’ve had more episodes if disney hadn’t shortened it 😔 When it comes to movies I think Pirates of the Caribbean are some of my favourites!! (Edit to say I also started watching Blood of Zeus and I haven’t finished it yet but wow it’s amazing)
13. Your dream place to visit?
Tbh I had to think about this for a while! I hadn’t really considered travelling overseas before because realistically idk if I could ever afford it (I mean...maybe one day?) but theoretically I think France or somewhere in the English countryside where they have those cute villages would be nice 🥺 idk just somewhere kinda idyllic and peaceful :)
14. Something you wish you were better at?
This probably sounds dumb but talking to people :( I mean it’s definitely a lot easier online though I still get kinda nervous and sometimes don’t know what to talk about, but I have horrible social anxiety so irl I am pretty much a mess 💀
26. How many pictures do you have on your phone?
3320 😂 Okay so my phone is relatively new and I needed to back up all my images from my iPad, so I transferred them to my phone to sort through later and uh...clearly I haven’t organised them yet haha
Thank you so much for the ask @lawrencebarkley !! ☺️☺️💗💗

Aight, can someone explain to me what the hell is blood of zeus? I just watched the whole thing and I've seen spider webs with less holes and with seemingly more budget than the entire 8 episodes. I'm angry at that show

Percy Jackson and The Olympians Season 1 vs The Lightning Thief.
Hi so continuing on my previous post. https://www.tumblr.com/ghost-in-cyberspace/741314285038436352/percy-jackson-and-the-olympians-season-1-vs-the?source=share
I'm going to compare episode 2 and 3.
Again beware
Tumblr media
Episode 2 I become Supreme Lord of The Bathroom.
Chapter list is
5. I play Pinocle with a Horse
6. I become Supreme Lord of the Bathroom
7. My dinner goes Up in Smoke
8. We Capture A Flag
9. I Am Offered A Quest
The main plot points and similarities for this episode and these chapters are this.
Percy is told that the Greek gods are real and how Camp Half-Blood works, including that he's in the Hermes Cabin since anyone with an unknown and/or non-Olympian godly parent goes there. And because of that, it's extremely crowded.
Percy is cycled through camp activities to find what he's good at, and he's epically bad at archery.
He's hazed by the Ares campers led by Clarisse La Rue (You find her full name out later in the series). In response to this, his hydrokinetic abilities take control of all the bathroom's water. Blasting his attackers.
Annabeth witnesses this and recruits him to use as bait during Capture the Flag.
It's also explained that Annabeth is eager to go out into the world on a quest, but Chiron has told her she had to wait for a special demigod to arrive.
During Capture the Flag Percy is used as bait, and Clarisse and a few other Ares campers attack him. Annabeth was going to help, but Percy fights them off. Annabeth figures out that Percy is the Son of Poseidon just before he was claimed. Percy is moved to Cabin Three, Poseidon's cabin and offered a quest to retrieve the Master Bolt, Zeus's Lightning Bolt and symbol of his power, the theft of which has caused a rift between Zeus and Poseidon and is threatening to cause a war.
Now the differences are this:
TV Series
In the the TV series it's named in ancient Greek "Kleos" but in the books it's not, though in both it's explained that campers want to fight monsters and go on quests to earn it.
The TV series also skips out some stuff, but one major change is Grover's fate and actions.
In the book, it's explained way here that Grover want's a Searcher's license, to find the wild god Pan. But first he has to prove himself by succeeding as a Protector. Namely by finding a demigod and guiding them safely to camp. However Percy was his second chance. Here is the first hint that Grover was the one that found Thalia, Luke and Annabeth. However the Council of Cloven Elders had deliberated if he had succeeded in his role with Percy in the book since in the book he lost Percy at the bus station, and was unconscious and Percy had to drag him across the boundary. In the end they decided that he hadn't succeeded nor failed in regards to his role as Protector for Percy. So Dionysus had declared that their fates were still tied together. If Percy was to go on a quest and Grover went to protect him and the two returned alive then Grover would earn his Searcher's license.
This didn't happen in the TV series. Instead Grover was declared to have succeeded. Instead he consulted the Council over Sally Jackson's fate. Since he witnessed it in this version and wondered why Sally turned to dust. So instead he got into trouble for telling Percy that his mother was being held captive in the Underworld.
This is the second change. In the both versions Percy wasn't exactly eager to help Poseidon out, seeing his claiming as Poseidon just acknowledging him as the god needed his help after a lifetime of ignoring him. In both versions he wanted to rescue his mother from the Underworld as his true goal, vs retrieving the thunderbolt. It's just in the TV series he found out before he set off that Sally Jackson was still alive and blatantly from the start accepted to go rescue her rather than help Poseidon. In the books he thought he was going to pull an Orpheus and retrieve her undead shade to restore to life.
The Book
So a scene that was skipped in the TV series, presumably for pacing and the fact Percy already had Anaklusmos (his sword Riptide I just like typing out the longer name) was a sword fighting class with Luke and the other Hermes campers. It took place when they were still figuring out his divine parent. Percy was hindered a bit as none of the practice swords worked with him, they were either too short, too long, too heavy or too light. But during the class break, Percy copied Luke in pouring ice water to cool down. The water boosted him, and he was able to defeat Luke, who was the best swordsman in camp.
The capture the flag and claiming scene played out slightly different in the book.
In the TV series Percy lead Clarisse and the Ares campers on a chase to the creek, but defeated them on the shore. And he was claimed when Annabeth shoved him in the water to heal his scratches. In the books he was already stationed near the Creek, which was the boundary. Percy only had a week of training tops, so he was overwhelmed until he was backed into the water, which gave him a boost to overwhelm his attackers. Annabeth spots that the cuts he received was healing, and when he stepped out the water he almost collapses from exhaustion.
Then the Lightning Thief, unknown to anyone else, summons a hellhound which nearly tears Percy apart but was killed by Chiron and Apollo's kids arrows. Annabeth has Percy step back into the water, both to heal the slashes from the hellhound, and demonstrate his healing ability to Chiron.
There was some additional scenes after his claiming that was skipped. Namely someone leaving a newspaper article that showed that the police blame him for his mother's disappearance. (His fugitive status comes up later in the TV series).
That wraps up episode two. Check back later for Episode 3
