YEAH BABYYYYYYYY. alright so first off, you don't need to know anything about dc to enjoy doom patrol. they namedrop the justice league a couple times bc it does take place in the same universe, but there's no previous viewing required. it is a superhero show so if that's not your thing you might not enjoy it, but it's SO MUCH MORE than just a superhero show. it's about found family and morality and systemic injustice and mental and physical illness and racism/sexism/misogyny/ableism/homophobia. it's also about alien babies and robots and zombie butts and drunk wizards and sentient genderqueer teleporting streets and ghost detectives and silly lil guys.

all of this is to say that all four seasons of doom patrol are out now on hbo max and you should absolutely watch them
