*Sitting in my corner, waiting for The Blues Brothers/Blues Brothers 2000 to get rediscovered*

The series has:

Neurodivergent representation (Dan Akroyd is Autistic IRL, and arguably his character Elwood Blues).

Platforming minority artists, many of whom had fallen out of the limelight during the time of the first film.

Explicit condemnation of Nazis, white supremacy, and cops.

Musical numbers across a variety of generas, often by some of the best artists in the business.

Multiple car chases.

Support for found families.

A little light on female representation, but when there are women they typically kick ass. Including but not limited to Carrie Fisher, Nia Peeples, and Aretha Franklin.

Now, are either of these movies perfect? No. There are a few oofs. Fewer than you'd expect, though. And they're definitely overdue to be rediscovered.

Then we can all chuckle at the conservatives tearing their hair out about the films being 'woke' to boot.

so the next game is Blues Brothers 2000 I... never heard of this game? or have seen anything about it? it is almost decent 3D platmormer but... then these """"rhythym""" game comes up and it is literally impossible to I had to give up early lol

Body Harvest I dont know why I thought this was the name of a horror franchise... but anyway lol this is another shooter, plays better than the ones I got to play so far tho! it has an interesting exploration feel to it, but as soon as I died I thought of giving up already, because it only saves after bosses and there are big chunks of stages between them.... But thanks to the power of emulation I continued with save states! It is very interesting, each stage is in a differen place AND time in the world and they are big exploration based chunks, very interesting game, I think it is a good one, but I am not really willing to deal with the jank for that long hah

final one for now is Bomberman 64 the first of 3 bomberman games that exist for the N64! Listening to the songs from the first two worlds in this game was always very nostalgic for me even tho I never plaied this one! The entire ost is very nice, but those are my favorites... Anyway, gameplay-wise it is a pretty ok game, they manage to make a 3D platforming with no jumping through the use of bombs and stuff I will definitely try to finish this (with infinite lives cheat on lol) But I will probably not try to get 100% I tried to look up how to get all the "golden cards" on the first stage and the stuff the creators expect you to do is in the level of speed run exploits, it LOOKS like a glitch, but it is intended tech, and I hate that for melkgdhsglkhd I am aware I miss out on a true final thing if I dont get all of the cards but I guess I will just have to accept that, like with blast corps :/

Blues Brothers 2000 (1998)

Blues Brothers 2000 has some strong lightning strobes during a musical number, for which there are several shots of warning that a storm is rolling in. Several scenes have police cars that use spinning-style lights. Very brief strobes are used when a character uses magic. Machine guns are used a few times in the first half-hour of the film. Other mild strobe effects include a blinking computer screen and some patterned lights on city signs at night.

Several scenes take place inside moving vehicles, but all of the camera work is either stationary or very smooth.

Flashing Lights: 6/10. Motion Sickness: 1/10.

Moments from Blues Brothers 2000 I like, a non exhaustive list

• Elwood learning from Sister Stigmata that Curtis had a affair w a married woman and immediately says “you go Curtis !!!” with a proud smile on his face

• then gets hit 2 seconds later and says “uh i mean that’s terrible :(” with the least convincing voice on this planet

• “hey this kid is a wise ass” “uh i mean. what a sweet kid” 

• Elwood saying that Buster could be the President of the United States someday if he stays away from drugs, gangs and cyber porn on internet

• Trying to get his brother Cab in the band and steal 500 bucks out of his wallet

• *finger guns* “I could show you all the moves” 

• “i think you need a hug :)”

• “shit” “don’t say shit kid” 

• Elwood going to Willies stripster club and covering Busters eyes when the ladies start dancing • Elwood doing car tricks at every opportunity

• Elwood sending notes to russians asking them to stay away from Willies and signed “the masked avenger” with a (cute) drawing of a skull

• Aretha Franklin being a queen + R.E.S.P.E.C.T !!

• The scene at Bobs country kitchen !!! Elwood with the shaving cream !!!

• Elwoods speech about the future of music while green onions is playing in the background (might be one of my favorite scene ever)

• Buster helping Elwood when he was ready to give up on everything

• Just Buster being a baby boy 

• “don”t look back” *hundreds of police cars begin to crash*

• “the lord works in mysterious ways”

• The blues contest with turn on your love light (which is without a doubt my favorite song of the movie) 

• Buster and Elwood playing harmonica together

• The jam session at the end with louisiana gator boys !! New orleans !!

• Just Elwood being my favorite character ever for 2 hours straight
