I love Monroe a lot like, he's a reformed blutbad, he probs used to be a bit of a bad guy, but meeting him you wouldn't ever know cuz he's a vegetarian clockmaker, who does pilates in the morning and wears cardigans and plaid button ups and drives around in a cute yellow bug volkswagen, can't forget his love for classical music and his talent at playing the cello, and then OFC there's his giant love for christmas. He will go all out in decorating the inside of his house. He has a big train set that takes up almost his entire living room during Christmas time.

Also pretty sure he has extensive knowledge on trains as well. Actually he has extensive knowledge on a lot of things, random things you probs wouldn't expect. Like he's just, I love him sm. Monroe is everything to me. 😭

Have you ever heard of the TV show Grimm???

If weird creature enthusiasts and nonhumans could read this that would be great!!! I think almost all who identify as these would have an interest in this show^^

If you have not heard of this show, I COULD NOT reccomend it more!!! This 6 season, 24~ episode per season show couldnt give off more therian/otherkin vibes!!!

This show has been a special interest/hyper fixation of mine for almost a decade. It has helped me SOOOO much with finding my love of werewolves!

The VFX are great for a NBC show and it has such a variety of what the show calls "wesen" (Veh-sen). Im pretty sure, but correct me if im wrong, almost the entirety of the show is on Amazon Prime.

There are probably HUNDREDS of unique wesen species seen throughout the show all with their own unique and creative names (usually germanic) and all have their own unique lore!!! Some examples of what some wesen species are based on are wolves, spiders, aswang, naiads, the anubis, fae, native american cultural creatures, felines, el chupacabra, goblins, toads, demonic witches, aliens, and SOOOO much more... The list is almost never ending!

wanted to share these parts from a nickroe WIP i’m working on that bc i love them 

"You don't get it, do you?" Juliette smiled, looking up from their hands.

"No..." Nick said slowly, staring confusedly at Juliette. She couldn't possibly know that he was a Grimm. Or what a Grimm even was.

"Nick, are you..." She paused as if she was worried about Nick's reaction.

"Are you gay?"

Well, okay then.

That is not where Nick thought this was going.

Nick was able to nod and make it seem like he was listening to what Monroe was saying previously.

"Uhm." Nick forced himself to look Monroe in the eyes.

Oh god, Juliette was right. Nick is so gay. And possibly for Monroe.

Kelly was a blutbad, her husband was human, her mother was human while her father was blutbad. Nick’s aunt was human who had limited knowledge on Wesen stuff. It’s quite a long lineage of mixing with humans instead of other wesen. Nick’s father was killed by that old cult so Kelly fled and told Marie to give little information of his ancestry to Nick

I lied, Aunt Marie is actually a Blutbad also but just has great control over her woge. She ended up woging in front of Grimm!Monroe when he went to protect her. Marie was a ruthless blutbad who may or may not have killed Monroe’s neighbors as a warning/threat

Nick is considered a runt and “less-than-Blutbad” due to how much his family mixed with humans

Nick was raised mostly in a human society until he was forced to separate a little when he became of age

Kinda stuck between he either “fangs out” at like 19 and gets some lessons or he “fangs out” suddenly at Monroe in his adult years

Aunt Marie never shied away from answering questions about Nick but when it came to the more gruesome nature of Nick’s wolves ancestry, that was mostly kept in the dark

On nights of full moons, Nick was locked away in his room that had no window

He mostly survived high school, college, and the rest of his life purely on instinct. He never received a biology lesson which ended up in some weird situations he had to try and explain off to his human friends

Hank and Wu refer to Nick as “The Little Big Bad” while Monroe scoffs and refers to Nick as a “pup”

With the blutbad’s knowledge of his own history and wesen community, “he may as well have the awareness of a young blutbad pup, isn’t that right puppy?” “Yeah yeah! Whatever ya old geezer!”

Nick tends to own a lot of black and the occasional red. He doesn’t quite understand why he’s attracted to the color. Instead of being lulled into thoughts of murder, he often just zones out

I can kinda see Nick being the type to knead furniture due to past trauma. He ends up destroying Monroe’s furniture that he now has a kneading pillow to fidget with so he doesn’t destroy Monroe’s couch… again

Nick and Juliette end up breaking up with Juliette calling Nick a freak and leaving. They eventually reunited and she apologized for her words but they ended up coming to the conclusion that perhaps it wasn’t safe for them to keep staying together. They remain close friends and threaten each other’s new lovers if they break their best friend’s heart

Unlike Normal!Monroe Nick and his wild side are very in touch with each other and don’t often fight each other for control. Both sides have no clue what they’re doing so-

Since Nick was almost never around other Blutbad, he was fine being a loner and never had the urge to bring harm to at least a human. Lucky him and Marie lived near a forest which allowed Nick to go hunting wild animals

Nick never had the urge to murder an actual human before, that was until he met Angelina. Angelina ran off into the woods to isolate Nick where she ended up getting her throat ripped out by said Blutbad for nearly killing Nick

Nick ended up going a little blood crazy and had to be restrained and tranqed by Hank and Wu who were hot on his metaphorical tail. He ended up staying at Monroe’s for a while his police mates tried to come up with a coverup story for Angelina’s death

Nick knows who Captain Renard is and Renard knows Nick is a Blutbad

The story goes that Angelina’s attack was a gay hate crime and they attacked Nick after sending a threat (so that’s why Hank and Wu know where he was). Angelina was the provoker of the fight and Nick acted in self-defense and just blanked out at some point during the fight and went for the Grimm’s throat while high on adrenaline

Nick ended up taking a month off from work after that, absolutely shaken up from his first human/wesen murder.

Nick locked himself away in Monroe’s guest room, fully woged and extremely jumpy at every noise. It took a week and a half for Nick and Monroe to just have a face to face conversation (it had been just talks through the door whenever Monroe dropped off food)

During the month off and after being reassured several times over that Monroe could handle Nick, the two grew closer. Monroe lends Nick his flannels since it seems to keep the young Blutbad calm

During this time, Monroe also played his Cello at night in hopes to help Nick fall asleep

Hap’s alive AU (just cuz I like him). Terribly injured and mentally scared but alright. He’s also a grimm but he came late into his powers and doesn’t have as much training as Monroe but luckily he’s powerful in strength alone to take some Wesen in hand to hand combat

Nick lets out little happy growls around Monroe when drunk or asleep. He also sleeps in full woge sometimes which means he trusts Monroe fully

Nick has a habit of baring his throat for some reason, especially around Monroe. Monroe knows exactly what it means and is a little embarrassed but he chalks it up to Nick just not fully understanding his Blutbad ancestry and behavior

Monroe is quite curious about Nick’s biology since it seems to differ from the Blutbad he’s *encountered. Nick seems to have a full control over his ears and he notices when he’s cleaning the living room, there’s a lingering sweet scent. Not to mention the puppy dog eyes that seems to put people in a trance (or maybe that’s just him- further study of his books is required)

Nick has his normal form that most blutbad seem to take on but then he has his more hunched furry feral form that Hank and Wu saw when Nick was ripping Angelina’s throat out

Nick has previously stated that despite the timing and bad setting, he has used that eye ability to deescalate high stress situations where people are emotionally compromised or even get more information out of shaken interrogations

Rosalee on the offhand talked about how she needed to get Nick’s medicine in but there had been problems with shipping and how Nick might enter a high fever delirium and destroy his house again

— “I’d ask you to go over to him but I fear he might not recognize you in his state. Yet, at the same time, I’ve always feared for his safety since he lets off an alluring scent”

Monroe has a few scars from Nick accidentally kneading him after a few close calls. Hank has some also

When he feels threatened (or his friends are threatened), he’ll often step in front of his friends with his head near their neck to protect his throat and to protect the sensitive part on his back

Blutbad (German: Blood Bath)

Blutbaden are noted to lose any inhibition when they get into close proximity to one of their own, strongly hinting that they are motivated by pack mentality when giving in to their bestial natures. This may be why they tend to adopt solitary lifestyles, as nearly all Blutbad seen so far have lived alone in their own territory and relatively secluded from each other. However, this only seems to occur when there are no familiar ties with the Blutbaden in question. Blutbaden are known to be quite vicious; it is not uncommon for them to kill humans or other Wesen and then eat them.

They are very loyal to friends, and especially to family. Blutbaden can only be described as both noble and savage; they show unquestionable loyalty to those who earn their trust (even towards Grimms) and are willing to show their utmost ferocity towards anyone they deem a threat to their own, making them great allies and formidable enemies.
