This is such a weird ask to be sending so im sorry in advance, please feel free to ignore. Im in my second year at BMC and i havent made any friends, presumably both because im socially awkward and because i was remote last year. Do you have any advice?

the worst thing is that the classic advice is the best advice. join clubs. create study groups. sophomore year all the freshman friend groups should be falling apart right now so that’s your window lmao. i really struggled to find my core group of friends my first year and that was on campus!! but once i got more into extracurriculars i was spending more time with people and had the option to text them “hey wanna get dinner in a few?” i guarantee you you aren’t the only person feeling like this, and while it might take some trial and error, all hope is absolutely not lost. my other tidbit is go to office hours. it’s not the same but professors can be friends too. additionally, when you’re waiting in line it gives you a good chance to see your classmates in their natural habitat and you can be like “hey do you wanna do a quizlet with me tonight?“

Your preparedness prior to commencing your internship and how you assimilated into the organisation’s culture.

With a significant break between completing my other units at Holmesglen, and undertaking the internship at Fox Footy- I still feel as though I am prepared for the next 228 hours in industry.

Building my network of contacts and gaining an understanding of the inner workings of a large media organisation are two of the big goals I have set for course of the internship.

To be able to sit in the control room from the second day,  be entrusted with studio access for AFL360 and to sit in on a meeting with producers and talent for the AFLW are experiences that can not be bought. I was not prepared for the sheer grand scale of people and procedures it takes for a broadcast to be put on air. This is something I am sure will take time to understand.

Creating a roster with Lynne has provided me with clarity around the different events, roles and experiences that I will have over the next period. It seems as though I will be exposed to so much, and rather than be stick to one task which will allow for a taste of everything to help me decide which path is right for me.

I have found that Fox Footy use different programs (IPD & FLEX) and software but majority of the practical skills learnt throughout units at Holmesglen are transferrable.

From what I can gather, the staff at Fox Footy work incredibly hard and are always aiming to produce content that is unrivalled by other networks, Although busy, they have all been open to questions and some ideas from myself no matter their role. As an avid viewer of Fox Footy and its programs, to walk around the office within the first few days and view those that I have idolised, as work colleagues has been a surreal experience.

As someone who is very passionate and knowledge about AFL, it has been a real pleasure to work alongside those that are driven to create and work with that same passion as the key motivator. I have already felt included in banter and workplace conversations which is helping to assimilate me into the work environment. I see myself as friendly, open, engaging and warm which is what I am bringing daily in my attitudes to the other members of staff.

Everyone that I have met so far have been nothing but generous with their time to explain and run over how things operate. Nothing is too hard or time consuming, although it is one of the busiest periods of the season and their work moves at such a fast pace. This indicates a strong workplace culture which according to Tsai (2011) “plays a large role in whether it is a happy and healthy environment in which to work”.

26. Playful or torturous tickles?

Definitely depends on my mood, I usually prefer more playful and teasy tickles, and I like them because there’s more Rome for banter and it requires less stamina so it tends to last longer. But sometimes when I’m in an intense lee mood or if I’m feeling dangerous, I just wanna be wrecked. Like recently since I’ve single and haven’t told my friends about my liking of tickling, I just get insanely flustered whenever it’s mentioned a day it keep building up.

30. Tummy tickles or feet tickles?

I’m more comfortable with my tummy than I am with my feet, and it’s closer to a lot of other spots. And c’mon tummies are pretty cute hehe.

Hey sorry this took me a bit. For the sake of time I’m gonna go into less detail this time haha. Thanks for sending these!

1. Would you rather be more or less ticklish?

Definitely more ticklish, from my experience I like the sensations that come along with it so I want more of that even if it’s torture. It would probably also level the playing field more for any of the tickle fights I get into, which is fun and being more vulnerable would mean I would have to ask less, yay!

2. Do you have any melt spots?

I think my lower belly is the one of the only ones I can think of, thought it would be a regular spot for a while but tried it out and didn’t tickle that much. Definitely felt nice though.

3. Lers/switches, what’s your favorite spot to tickle?

Probably the sides, tum and armpits. They’re all pretty easy to reach and in close proximity to eachother. I especially love poking the sides, you can get such an adorable reaction from just one poke and I love it heheh.

8. Do you have any unusual ticklish spots?

Ok so this is weird but a while ago I tried one of those head masager things on my buttcheeks haha. They were pretty sensitive but haven’t really had much other experience to back that up, other than that maybe around the boobs? Tmi? Sorry 😅

12. Favorite tickle fic/gif/piece of art?

Aaaaa it’s hard to choose a just one cause they’re all so good! I like a lot of the Sanders sides fics, especially the ones by @inconveniently-placed-cactus or @oliviaischillin1204 and I think @fluffymary’s art is really good! There so much more stuff that I can’t specifically name right now but oh my god this community is so creative and talented I am living for it! To all my t-content creators out there, I respect you and appreciate you all so much 💖

Ok I just had a really good idea for a Be More Chill t-word scenario!

So y’know how the Squip has access to Jeremy’s body and nervous system, and he can make Jeremy move and feel pain and stuff?

There is no reason why he couldn’t simulate the feeling of being tickled…

And he can literally read Jeremy’s mind so if he was in a particularly bad lee mood that day, or being extra stubborn about not following ‘adivice’, the squip would know.

And you better believe he’d be using that shit to his advantage, you cannot tell me that computer is not a ler.

Also as a bonus: the Squip holding down Jeremy while he is being tickled by someone else

If someone knows any writers in the BMC fandom, go ahead and tag em! I really wanna see this done now.

Now that you’ve skipped past that, stopping only to touch on your team’s score, you’re pretty antsy to find out what our final Wordy Weekend theme is, right?

Well, first, I have to tell you about our penultimate (and best) Wordy Weekend prize, that was awarded last weekend to @zoes-dumb-writings​. 

I gave her a list of twelve players, with only numbers to identify them. Three of these ‘players’ were in fact duds, and Zoe doesn’t know which ones were duds... so the prizes, in theory, will not be spread out equally.

What are these prizes?

Special, lucrative items that are only available this way, items that will never be in a box, that’s what. Special lucrative items, and everyone is getting one of them.

Let’s introduce you to these items!

brooke item: reverses the effect of a powerup if used within 10 minutes of the powerup’s use. if used after the ten minute window it allows the user to take a small percentage of the powerup, depending on what it is, based on how soon they use the item after the powerup’s use.

jeremy item: takes away 50 points from one team, gives 25 to your team and 25 to the other team besides the one you took the points from.

michael item: rolls a die for effects. 1 and 4 give the user 15 extra points, 2 and 5 gives the user 30 extra points if they reach a certain (randomised) wordcount, 3 and 6 gives the user 15 extra points taken from another player of their choice. 

christine item: allows two random players on different teams to swap points, giving them immunity from items being used on them, both from other players and themselves.

brooke item asterisk: this item applies only to the following powerups:

tiaras 

swords 

+point tickets 

houseplants

point sucking items (plasma ray, sapphire stealer, point succ-er, etc)

percentage cut of the powerup’s points:

used between 10-15 minutes later: 50% of points affected by the powerup are given

used between 15-20 minutes later: 30% of points affected by the powerup’s user are given

used between 20-30 minutes later: 25% of points affected by the powerup’s user are given

used between 30-45 minutes later: 15% of points affected by the powerup’s user are given

used between 45-60 minutes later: 10% of points affected by the powerup’s user are given

used between 60-75 minutes later: 5% of points affected by the powerup’s user are given

used more than 75 minutes later: the only effect is that you just wasted your item.

Now that you’ve read that, you’ve picked your favourite item, you’re ready to find out what you got, to see me open your ‘box’ in the server... well, too bad. The recipients of each item have already been chosen by Zoe!

There are also! Two new wordcount levels, Venom and Sun God. Not that I expect anyone to hit them... but just to say I have them.

Venom is 25k, and Sun God is 30k. Venom is worth 40 extra points, Sun God 50. I doubt anyone will get either, not even @ouzoa11-writes​. Sun God is 10k every day for three days!

That being said... the 5am cutoff time? Now nonexistent for our final round. The new cutoff time is 11am EST on Monday, giving everyone a little extra time to write. 

Alright! Now, I will finally, finally, finally show y’all what this weekend’s theme is!

BATTLE ROYALE WEEKEND!

This is the Hunger Games weekend in a Be More Chill writing challenge. The difference is that there’s no opening ceremonies, and no crazy costumes, and no child slaughter. This is just pure simulated basic Hunger Games, but with writing, rather than child slaughter.

Here’s how it works:

At least 5 people have to agree to sprint at once. If I’m not among them, make sure you keep track of your rounds! 

You must do a 10, 15 or 20 minute sprint (doesn’t matter which, just one of the three. A sprint of any other length doesn’t count). The winner (the person with the highest wordcount) gets 4 points, second place gets 3 points, third place gets 2. Everyone else gets 1 point, except for the person with the lowest wordcount. That person is ‘killed’ and cannot participate in the sprints of this particular Battle Royale anymore.

In the event of a tie for last place or a wordcount difference between the lowest and second lowest players of 10 words or less, nobody is killed. For a tie for a place, both people receive the extra points. There is no wordcount difference rule for placing.

Sprints continue this way until there are only 3 players left, at which point there are no more third place extra points. At 2 players left, the winner of the sprint will receive 5 points, and the loser will be left with nothing but the points they’ve collected thus far, ‘dead’ on the side of the channel.

I’ll keep track of points for battle royales, but if I’m not in one, it would be very nice if you would all write a post at the end with the scores of all the participants so that I’ll see it. 

Speaking of which! For CAH Points, I’m giving everyone perms to pin posts, please pin your final leaderboards! 

Okay, okay, after aaaalll that, I’m finally ready to give out prompts. There will be new special prompts in the discord (the old ones only count for 5 extra points, now.) and the prompts for this round are worth 4 points apiece. There’s also more than 6 or 3, but there’s no penalty for not using prompts, just that you won’t receive the 4 points for that prompt.

you can hear some people talking in the background of her call, and music “Oh, well, what’s up?” 

“Jake’s having a partyy.” 

“Are you drunk?” 

“Ye- nooo.”

“Can you like get some water or something.”

“Okayy.” you hear her walking through rooms, and then water running

then she’s talking again: “I love youuu.”

you honestly don’t know how to respond to that, so you don’t, and after a lot of silence, she says that she’s gonna go home now, someone’s gonna give her a ride, and then she hangs up

the next Monday, she plops down in a seat next to you, and apologizes for calling you while drunk

you shrug, then ask her if she remembers what she said to you

she thinks a bit, and then freezes

“So,” she says. “I’ve been meaning to ask you if you wanted to go out with me.” after a second, she adds on: “like, on a date.”

you smile, and you definitely say yes
