Bristol 412  
This is a Bristol 412, it’s a classic GT car that many haven’t seen before, even in Britain where it was originally built. The body was designed in Italy, the engine was sourced from the USA, and the cars were built at the Bristol factory in southern England.Bristol was one of those unusual British automakers, a little like Morgan, Lister, Caterham, Marcos, or TVR, that produced vehicles in very limited numbers for a very specific clientele. During WWII the team at Bristol were already formulating plans to enter automobile production in earnest after the war. They would eventually enter into a short-lived agreement with Frazer Nash to build a new car based on BMW underpinnings which had been licensed as war reparations.This new car would be named the Bristol 400, it was an elegant two-door luxury car powered by a modified version of the BMW 328 engine sitting on a version of the BMW 326 chassis with a new body built by Bristol.The 400 series Bristols would continue and by 1961 with the release of the Bristol 407 the company had switched to using American V8s from Chrysler.
 In 1975 Bristol released a new design with a radically different body from the team at Zagato in Italy, it was called the Bristol 412 and it would remain in production for almost 20 years.
When it was first released the 412 was powered by Chrysler B series gasoline engines with a displacement of 6,277cc (383 cubic inches). Power was sent to the rear wheels via a Chrysler Torqueflite automatic transmission and no manual option was ever offered – these were intended as luxurious grand tourers not sports cars.From 1977 onwards the 412 was powered by the 5,899 cc (360 cubic inch) Chrysler V8, and the front suspension was modified to account for the lower weight of the engine.The unusual squared-off bodywork was accompanied by a targa style roof. The roof panel could be quickly removed and stored in the trunk when required, the roof also incorporated a hefty roll bar for safety.Inside the cabin you’ll find a luxuriously appointed interior with leather upholstery and a woodgrain dashboard. Interestingly the heating and ventilation system was designed by the same engineers who designed the ventilation system for the Concorde.There is comfortable seating for four and the suspension is tuned for comfort rather than sharp handling.
Between 1975 and 1993 there would be 98 examples of the Bristol 412 built, many of which still survive and are sought after by collectors and enthusiasts

1938 BMW 328 Roadster
The pre-war era of automotive manufacturing saw the likes of Alfa Romeo, Bentley, Bugatti, and Mercedes-Benz typify the age with powerful-yet-complex performance machines. By contrast, the BMW 328 emerged in 1936 as a meticulously engineered, lightweight, well-balanced, and surprisingly user-friendly racer in a time when such qualities rarely transferred to cars intended for the motorsport track. Entering production in April 1936, the 328 was extensively campaigned by BMW’s Works team at contemporary racing events. The very first car, chassis number 85001, was driven by Ernst Henne to 1st overall at the Eifelrennen Nürburgring, while in April 1937, the first customer cars were delivered. A combination of factory and privateer cars were entered into subsequent races, with both scoring notable victories in the late 1930s at the Grand Prix des Frontières, Bucharest Grand Prix, and Eläintarhanajo in Finland. In 1938, the 328 was victorious at some 125 events, including 1-2-3 finishes at the Mille Miglia, International Avusrunnen, Grand Prix des Frontières, and two victories at the Nürburgring. These successes were followed by a three-car team entry at Le Mans in 1939 (finishing 5th, 7th, and 9th), and outright dominance at the shortened 1940 Mille Miglia, where team cars finished 1st and 3rd while privateers finished 5th and 6th. By this time, the 328 could be tuned to reach 60 mph from a standstill in 8.8 seconds, and it was capable of a top speed of over 110 mph. British BMW importer and privateer, H.J. Aldington, was once clocked hitting 117 mph at Brooklands, a staggering speed for the era. By September 1939, 464 examples of the 328 had been produced, and the model remained dominant in club racing though the 1950s.

BMW 328 Hommage (concept car). 
To commemorate the 75th anniversary of its beau ideal 328 sports car, BMW has created the 328 Hommage, a modern interpretation of the 328.The Hommage  isn’t much of an aesthetic homage—it looks almost nothing like its tiny silver 1930s-vintage inspiration. In comparison with the original artifact, the 328 Hommage is low, angular, and downright mean looking. Mixing styling cues from BMW’s  i8 (the front end), Z4 (the flanks), and the newest 6-series (the rear), the designers also threw in several details that hark back to the 328’s era. there are leather straps woven into the bodywork behind the front wheels and on the hood near the base of the windshield, small windscreens in lieu of a formal windshield, and alloy wheels with circular holes and spinner hubcaps that recall the original 328’s steel wheels. One of the cooler details is the lighting; the headlights appear to sport black tape crossouts like so many vintage racers do, but in fact the “tape” really consists of blacked-out, criss-crossed indents that separate the lamp into four individual backlit-LED units.The interior is equally sculpted, and supremely driver-oriented. The interior is separated into two separate pods—one for the driver and one for the “co-driver”— and everything that isn’t brown leather or aluminum is carbon fiber. The driver’s pod features a sweeping console and a windscreen that is larger than the co-driver’s, which actually makes the hood and its powerdome slightly asymmetrical. The only instruments are a tachometer and oil temperature, oil pressure, and water temperature gauges. In front of the co-driver are mounted two iPhones in aluminum cases that look like chronometer watches from the future. The functional and racy interior is rounded out by a kill switch for the vehicle electronics.
