K I’d assume you get a lot of prompts (sorry if this is rude) but idea… AM is an extrovert. Izuku is an introvert. Introverts unwind with quiet with small groups of people they trust, while extroverts are energized by large groups. After a stressful day/week, all Izuku wants to do is watch a movie with AM but AM (trying to be helpful) tells Izuku to hang out with 1A, not knowing that this exhausts Izuku. This happens too many times and miscommunication cause Izuku thinks AM is upset.
Not rude at all, Anon! I always accept prompts, although I make no promises about writing them. I admit I almost passed this one over because it hit a little too close to home, but it intrigued me, so I've hung on to it.
I'm not sure the result is quite what you had in mind, but here you go!
Being Alone
Toshinori Yagi spent many years alone.
His sense of loneliness wasn’t simply confined to the six years since his injury. He spent years and years never being able to fully form relationships with others due to the nature of his work.
Still, the work itself offered him plenty of chances to connect with others. He didn’t simply love heroics out of a desire to serve the people. He loved the opportunity it gave him to meet others, to hear about their lives, and to engage with the public as a whole. Plus, although he wouldn’t admit it to Aizawa anytime soon, he actually enjoyed the media appearances.
In other words, the crowds always helped stave off the loneliness.
So when he met young Midoriya and realized just how lonely and friendless the poor boy had been, Toshinori was thrilled when he made such good friends at UA.
Class 1-A was a good bunch. Midoriya deserved to be around many good kids as often as he wanted, and when the dorm system was implemented, it gave him even more opportunities to spend time with his classmates. It was exactly what Toshinori loved, exactly what he wanted for himself and in turn, what he wanted for Midoriya.
But as the weeks went on in the dorms, Toshinori grew worried. Izuku seemed less interested in hanging out with his friends, especially after a long week. He’d retreat to his room, sometimes not coming out for anything other than meals and weekend training, not even to study with his friends.
He seemed fine otherwise. He still did well in his classes, hung out with his friends during the school day, but during free time, it’s like a switch would flip where Izuku isolated himself more and more.
It all comes to a head the weekend after the UA Festival.
Toshinori, after his near heart attack where he couldn’t reach Izuku for almost an hour, had been glad to see Izuku have so much fun with Class 1-A, along with young Eri and young Togata, during the festival. It was nice to have all the students get a chance to just have fun and be kids, and the excitement of their performance was thrilling even to Toshinori, who had simply enjoyed it from the sidelines.
But in the days afterwards, it seemed to Toshinori like Izuku wanted nothing to do with anyone anymore. Well, anyone other than him. Izuku had lunch with him almost every day that week, largely in a comfortable silence. And while Toshinori enjoyed it, he felt immensely guilty for doing so.
So on Friday, when Izuku speaks up for what feels like the first time all week, Toshinori finds himself with a bit of an agenda.
“Hey All Might?”
Toshinori nearly knocks over his tea from how quickly he drops his pen and stops his paperwork, so cautiously thrilled to hear the boy start a conversation.
“Yes, young Midoriya?”
“I was wondering… would you, um… would you want to watch a movie with me this weekend?”
They’ve watched movies together a few times before at this point, either in the common room or at Toshinori’s apartment, so it’s not a totally strange request.
“Sure, kid. How about we watch in the common room so your friends can join us?”
Izuku frowns and looks down at his sandwich, which causes Toshinori to frown, too, keeping his eyes on Izuku.
“Actually, I was hoping we could watch at your place where it’s quieter. If you don’t mind?”
Without thinking about it, Toshinori starts clicking his pen with his thumb over and over again. In the otherwise silent room, the click of the pen is like a ticking clock, counting down each excruciating second of the silence in this exchange.
“Sorry, forget I asked,” Izuku eventually mumbles, packing up the rest of his sandwich. He goes to stand when Toshinori stops him with his free hand.
“Hey, hey, don’t be sorry,” he says, encouraging Izuku to sit back down. “I would love to have you over for a movie. It’s just…”
“Just what?”
“Well, wouldn’t you rather hang out with your friends instead of just you and me?” Izuku’s frown grows deeper.
“No,” he says simply.
“Are you not getting along with 1-A?” Toshinori hadn’t considered this possibility until now, but it makes a lot of sense when he says it. Concern starts to grow in his chest that Izuku quickly dispels.
“Of course we’re getting along, everything’s great,” he says. “Why do you think we’re not?”
“Well, because at the end of a long week, if I were you, I’d want to hang out with all my friends or go out and do things. But you don’t seem to want to be with your friends or anyone other than me, so…” Izuku fidgets with his fingers.
“Well, I guess if you think I should…” he says quietly. Toshinori can tell that’s not really what he wants, but he still doesn’t really understand why.
“Kid, it’s not about whether or not I think you should, I’m just worried about you that you don’t want to. You deserve to unwind, you know.” With that, Izuku’s expression shifts from sad to confused.
“Isn’t a movie just the two of us a great way to unwind, though?”
Toshinori thinks about this for a moment. It’s not normally what he would think to do to unwind, but now that Izuku asks that, he has to admit that there is something really enjoyable about the nights that they’ve watched movies by themselves.
“All Might,” Izuku continues, “I appreciate that you’re worried about me, I really do. But I spend a lot of time with my classmates. All the time it feels like, and sometimes I just need to get away from them, you know?”
Toshinori doesn’t know, but as long as it makes sense to Izuku, he supposes that works.
“If that’s true,” he asks cautiously, “then wouldn’t you also want some time to get away from me?” Izuku bites his lip, then takes in a deep breath.
“I like being alone,” Izuku says, “but when I spend time with you… I don’t know, it’s just as good as being alone, or even better sometimes. I know that doesn’t make sense, but… but it’s the truth.” Izuku starts fidgeting with his fingers again. “Is that okay?” Toshinori grins.
“Is it okay that you’re being a little fanboy again?”
“No, no! That’s not what I mean!” Izuku says quickly.
“Kid, I was just teasing—”
“I know, but it’s not that.” They both fall quiet for a moment when Izuku explains further.
“I get why you would say that, even as a joke, I do. But it’s not like that. I do enjoy getting to spend time with you as All Might, I do. But when I say spending time with you is just as good as being alone, I don’t mean you as All Might, I mean you as… you.”
Something about that touches Toshinori so deeply in that moment. And although he still doesn’t fully understand why Izuku would rather spend time with him or alone over his friends, he finds himself honored to be given preference.
“Alright, you win,” Toshinori says with a smile. “A movie at my place this weekend.” Izuku nods and stands to clean up when Toshinori adds, “and Midoriya?”
“Yeah?”
“That’s a standing invitation. I might not get your preference for being alone, but if hanging out with me helps with that feeling, then I’m always there for you. Okay, kiddo?” Izuku gives him a soft smile.
“Thanks, All Might.”

little birdie
word count: 792
"we've got to stop meeting like this, little birdie."
hawks didn't look over his shoulder to see who it was. only one person called him by that name.
"meeting like what? me doing my nightly patrols and you stalking me?" he replied smoothly. a strong gust of wind blew, and he extended a large, crimson wing to shield himself from it.
"maybe i just enjoy your company. have you ever thought of that?"
as the man came to sit next to him on the ledge of the building, hawks changed his position from a crouch to sitting, allowing his wings to rest from keeping him balanced. the glowing city lights of fukuoka were spread out beneath him as far as he could see, and if he used his imagination, he could pretend he was above the stars.
"you shouldn't, dabi," he responded after a silence had stretched between them. " we can't keep doing this. i'm a hero, and you're a villain."
dabi turned his gaze from the lights to hawks, compelling him to do the same. "yet, you don't change your patrol routes, and you sit on this rooftop until i show up."
hawks drew in a shuddering breath and folded his wings in closer to himself. he couldn't bring himself to look away from dabi's teal eyes.
he knew he shouldn't, couldn't, be meeting him on the rooftops of his city every night. they were on opposite sides of the same war. their colleagues hated each other, and they hated each other's colleagues. they were supposed to hate each other too.
there was every possibility hawks would lose the respect, the job, the friends he'd worked and trained for years to gain if he was seen with dabi. and he knew that for dabi, the scarred, pierced man would have to face the wrath of the most powerful villains in japan. nothing good would come out the two being together.
nothing except...
"do you trust me?" hawks asked. from the other's rapid blinking, he could tell the question had been unexpected.
dabi let out a heavy exhale and stood up. “do i trust a predatory hero whose only business he should have with me is to either put me behind bars or kill me?”
hawks felt his heart begin to sink and stood up as well. as he opened his mouth to speak, dabi gave him a smile.
and stepped off the edge of the building.
“no!”
hawks thrust a hand out, trying to catch hold of even a piece of dabi’s clothing. the man kept falling.
spurring his wings into action, hawks dove off the building. he did everything he knew to do to make himself fall faster. he tried to keep his mind off of how rapidly they were nearing the sidewalks of fukuoka and instead focused on reaching dabi.
his hand still outstretched, hawks managed to grab hold of his arm. he used everything in him to pull dabi closer, closer, closer until he was tucked safely into him. his large powerful wings beat, fighting to slow their descent. he struggled to carry himself and dabi, but he wouldn’t let his wings stop until they had reached a solid structure.
hawks flew and flew, away from the city. their fall had almost brought them close to the point where even those without enhanced sight would recognize the hero and villain. he didn’t want to risk the chance that someone had.
finally, hawks spotted a field of grass. he allowed himself to get nearer to the ground, and when he was a safe distance from it, dropped dabi. he stayed in the air even after hearing the other man’s pained groan, contemplating on just leaving him there. but he knew he didn’t have the heart to.
“ow,” dabi fussed.
hawks scoffed before using a wing to smack dabi. “why would you do that?! you could’ve been hurt! what if i didn’t reach you in time?!”
“i was giving you your answer,” dabi pouted. “i was showing you that i trust you.”
dabi sidled up to hawks, wrapping his arms around him while being careful of his wings. he waited until hawks eventually relaxed into him and brought his own mouth near his ear, even though he knew hawks would have no problem hearing dabi whisper from 10 feet away with his enhanced hearing.
“i’m sorry. can you forgive me?”
a silence grew between them. hawks knew what he was doing. he knew, yet he was still falling. for the trick, for dabi? from the shiver that had run down his spine when dabi had spoken, he knew the answer.
“don’t ever do that again. i mean it,” hawks finally huffed.
grinning, dabi answered, “as you wish, little birdie.”

Like a clock
Thank you @cluelesspigeons for beta reading 😘
Since the first semester of their third year, Izuku has developed a new habit. Everyday, after doing his homework, around 7 o'clock, he went down from his dorm and sat on the chair in the kitchen, focused on his quirk notebook. At the same time, Katsuki left his friends from the living room and started cooking.
Both of them didn’t talk until the meal was halfway ready and Katsuki took a spoon and turned around.
"Nerd, I need your tongue," he said, ignoring the glances from the other students.
"What is it tonight, Kacchan?" Izuku asked before taking a good mouthful of the meat with sauce.
"Curry with chicken," Katsuki simply answered before going back to his meal.
"It's delicious," Izuku complimented without looking at the blond.
Izuku tried hard to not listen to their friends on the couches saying that they looked like an 'old couple' but internally, Izuku's heart fluttered and he glanced at Kacchan. He wanted so much to be a couple.
"Oi! Deku!" Katquki shouted, waving his spoon in front of Izuku's green eyes. "Stop dreaming."
"Sorry, Kacchan!" Izulu said apologetically. "What were you saying?"
"Stop listening to the others' shitty rumors." Katsuki huffed.
"How did you—"
"I'm not deaf yet," he said, sending death glares to the students who turned around, anxious. "And to be an 'old couple' we have to be old first!"
"But, Kacchan?" Izuku asked, not understanding. "We're not a couple!"
"Really?" Katsuki looked at Izuku, leaning his body on the table. "Then let's change that."

Touches ask game: kisses #43 for afohiko please!
43. “we’ll see each other again” kisses | ask game
On a whim, Sorahiko finally asks, “Can I tempt you into staying the night?”
He’s not opposed to his one-night stands being all business and no pillow talk. The goal was to have fun, no strings attached, and at any rate, Sorahiko likes his mornings quiet and lazy. Asking a stranger to stay overnight would feel overly familiar on his part, and if the roles were reversed, Sorahiko knows he’d shove them out the door.
All this to say—Sorahiko’s been consistently hooking up with Shigaraki, and only Shigaraki, to the point where a romantic would call them exclusive.
He rolls onto his side and props himself up on an elbow, eyeing the way Shigaraki pauses in rebuttoning his white collared shirt. Unfortunately for Sorahiko, Shigaraki already has his underwear and trousers on. Too slow, yet again, and now awkwardness hangs heavy between them.
“Forget it,” says Sorahiko.
“Hm,” hums Shigaraki, and he tucks the ends of his shirt behind a waistband. The few buttons he’s left untouched expose a triangle of unmarked skin; in contrast, Sorahiko only has to tilt his head to feel a hickey twinge. “You didn’t give me the chance to answer.”
“I can take a hint.”
“Hasty,” he chides, and reaches to catch Sorahiko’s chin and urge him higher; Shigaraki bends halfway to meet Sorahiko in a kiss. It’s not as playful as Sorahiko’s come to expect; there’s a sincerity to the deepness, then a brief nip to his bottom lip before Shigaraki pulls away. Sorahiko makes a low, wounded noise in the back of his throat. To chase and prolong their night, or to let Shigaraki continue about his yet-to-be clarified business…?
“Guessing that’s a yes?”
“Allow me to treat you,” Shigaraki deflects, and the hand at Sorahiko’s chin shifts, caressing. “Three days from now, I’ll text you the place and time? It shouldn’t take me longer than that to arrange an overnight stay someplace nice.” He grins, mischievous. “Nice and secluded, so we aren’t fielding noise complaints.”
Sorahiko rolls his eyes, and he pushes up to kiss Shigaraki, hoping that it reads like a promise.

Politely requesting a soft DadMight snippet for everyone’s fav birthday boy. Even a single sentence cause he deserves it
He does deserve it! I didn't have anything planned, but you've inspired me.
Gifts
"All Might, what's this?"
Izuku stared at the envelope as they leaned against the railing at the beach. He could just barely make out his name scrawled onto it in All Might's handwriting as the sun set.
"Your birthday present, my boy. Happy seventeenth."
Fiddling with the envelop in his fingers, turning it over a few times, he felt All Might's eyes upon him. His mentor's smile lowered to a frown.
"Is something the matter?"
"You didn't need to get me anything, All Might," Izuku answered quietly, still staring at the envelope.
"Young Midoriya," All Might said gently after a lingering silence, "why wouldn't I get you anything for your birthday?"
"But you already did give me something. The best gift I could ask for." All Might let out a sigh.
"One for All is hardly a birthday--"
"No," Izuku said, turning sharply to look All Might in the eye. His mentor clamped his mouth shut as Izuku stared at him, taking in every feature of his gaunt face. "You lived, All Might," Izuku said resolutely. "Despite the odds, you lived... for me. And I could never ask for more than that."
All Might continued to stare right back. His expression hadn't changed, but a single tear rolled down his cheek. Izuku's lip wobbled at the sight of it, and he couldn't help himself. Without thinking, he launched towards All Might, wrapping his arms around him in a big hug. He tried not to squeeze too tight, but if he did, All Might didn't seem to mind. Izuku felt his mentor's arms wrap around him. One of his hands made its way to card his fingers through Izuku's hair.
"A gift I'd give you a thousand times over again," All Might whispered, "but one you hardly need to thank me for. If anything, I should thank you for being in my life, for giving me something to live for. So please, indulge an old man and let me give you another birthday gift, too. Okay?"
"You're not old, All Might," Izuku sniffed. All Might chuckled.
"Well, thanks to you, maybe I will be old in your eyes one day."
Izuku pulled away, looking up at All Might with a wobbly smile. All Might wiped away Izuku's tears with the pads of his thumbs with his own unsteady smile. Then, with a deep breath, Izuku slowly opened the envelope, then read the card inside.

Prompt: after Kamino, Izuku gets All Might a service animal (cat, dog, or whatever you think best). They bond while taking care of it. Grooming, playing, cuddles with a pet. Just all the cuteness <3 All Might likes to talk to it and tell it how much he admires Izuku. Maybe Izuku accidentally hears him doing that one time
I love having cute animals facilitate Dadmight! My second fanfic ever was about a cat, so I'll go for a service dog this time.
A Gentle Nudge
"You want to go for a walk, Cali?"
The golden retriever gets off the couch and wags her tail at the sound of Izuku's voice while All Might continues to run his fingers through her fur. Izuku isn't quite sure if dogs smile, but it sure seems like Cali does at the mention of a walk, tongue hanging out of her mouth in excitement as she pants.
"Alright, I'll get her some water and her leash," Izuku decides.
"Would you mind grabbing my shoes, too, young Midoriya?"
"Sure!"
Izuku heads down the hallway of All Might's apartment to the front closet for the leash and All Might's shoes. Vaguely in the background he can hear the sound of All Might's voice.
"You're such a good girl, you know that?" he coos to Cali. "I have to admit, though... One of the best things about having you is that Izuku comes around more." Izuku pauses with the leash in hand, not moving a muscle, waiting for All Might to say more.
"He's still shy around me, you know," All Might says to the retriever. "But with you around? It's easier for him to hang out with me, and I love that about you. You and me together, we're going to show him what a good kid he is and how much we love him, isn't that right, girl?" Izuku hears All Might chuckle down the hallway as tears well in his own eyes.
Taking a moment to compose himself, Izuku then grabs All Might's shoes and a bowl of water. When he comes back, the retriever sits politely, her excitement only visible through stronger tail-wagging. Izuku sets the bowl in front of her, then he sets down the leash and All Might's shoes.
"Thank you, my boy," All Might says with a fond smile, and with that, Izuku can't help himself. Before All Might can reach down for his shoes, Izuku comes in for a hug, moving before he can think too much about it. All Might pauses for a second in surprise, then wraps his arms around Izuku gently in response.
"What's this for?" he says as though he's been given an unexpected gift.
"I..." Izuku starts, then realizes he doesn't have the words yet. "Thank you for letting me hang out with you both," he decides. All Might chuckles, bringing a hand to Izuku's head.
"The pleasure is ours," All Might answers. Izuku holds on a little tighter, then feels a nudge at his leg. He turns to find Cali prodding at him with her nose, leash in her mouth. He pulls away from All Might with a small smile, turning to put her leash on.
"You know, you do such a great job of taking care of All Might," Izuku says as he kneels before the happy dog. He feels All Might's eyes on him but keeps going. "And he does a great job of taking care of me. So you bet that I'm always going to do what I can to take care of you." The dog gives Izuku's cheek a big lick, which he can't help but laugh at. As he wipes his cheek with his sleeve, Izuku feels All Might's large hand upon his head. Tears are welling in the man's eyes, and Izuku's smile falls at the sight.
"All Might? Are you okay?" Cali turns to him, too, but All Might smiles and shakes his head, bringing his other hand to the retriever's head.
"I'm just so lucky to have you both."

„Sour Grapes“ for the ask game please?
This one gave me a little drabble idea, so here you go, Anon!
On Purpose
"Would you like some grapes, my boy?"
Toshinori lifted the bowl of grapes off of the coffee table in the teacher's lounge to offer them to Izuku, who readily reached for a bunch. Keeping his expression schooled, Toshinori put the bowl back down and grabbed for a handful of grapes himself.
"Thanks, All Might," Izuku said as he picked one off of its stem and popped it in his mouth. Toshinori watched with a smirk as Izuku's face contorted into that predictable scrunch as it always did when he ate anything sour. Toshinori personally loved sour grapes but had discovered a few weeks back that Izuku absolutely did not.
"All Might!" Izuku whined, swallowing the grape with a forced gulp, then setting the bundle of grapes back in the bowl as his nose remained scrunched. "I thought I told you I didn't like sour grapes!"
"You did," Toshinori said easily, leaning back on the couch and popping a grape into his own mouth, enjoying the strong flavor with a huge grin on his face.
"You did this on purpose?" Izuku whined, burying his face in his hands. Toshinori chuckled, reveling in the success of his joke. Then he stood up, taking the bowl of grapes with him, went to the small fridge, and swapped out that bowl with a different one that held much larger, sweeter grapes.
"I did, but I hope you'll accept my apology," Toshinori said, setting down the new bowl between them. Izuku eyed it wearily, then reached for a single grape. Once he chewed it a few times, convinced these were not the trickster sour grapes, Izuku grabbed a new bundle.
"Thanks, All Might," Izuku said, happily eating his new grapes, the prank from moments ago already forgotten. Toshinori smiled.
"Anything for you, kiddo."

I wish you‘d write a fic where All Might is a villain. Bonus points if he still adopts Izuku
Huh, this is super different for me, and I've been looking for something different, so I'll try out a little snippet.
This is an AU where Toshinori never got One for All.
Dangerous
Izuku stared at All Smite, and the villain stared right back at him with a thoughtful frown. His figure appeared more shadow-like than human in the dark of the tunnel they found themselves in. All Smite twirled the blade of a dagger in between his fingers, something that seemed wholly unwise to Izuku. Yet again, the countless scars on the man's skin suggested he wasn't adverse to a few cuts.
"So... Are you going to kidnap me now or something?" Izuku asked, trying to calculate his options for retreat without moving his eyes.
"Why would I do that?" All Smite drawled.
"Because you're a villain, and that's the kind of thing villains do."
"Is it now?"
Before Izuku could jump into the various stories he'd heard about the villain before him, All Smite's eyes flicked to the ground as he flung the dagger in his hand. Izuku's eyes followed the trajectory to see the outline of the sludge villain's true form pinned to the ground right before the man hole where he had attempted to escape. All Smite bent down, picked up the dagger, used the butt of it to knock the slime villain unconscious, then put the dagger back into his hilt.
"If you're so certain of what villains do," All Smite said, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a pack of cigarettes, "then tell me why I attacked another villain."
Izuku waited for All Smite to light the cigarette, watching as the tall, lean figure before him take a drag and puff some smoke into the tunnel.
"Villains work alone, and you're known for attacking whoever it is you feel like." All Smite let out a huff, glancing down the opposite end of the tunnel.
"Yeah, that's what everyone likes to think. That I'm just a dick who beats the shit out of people for no reason." He turned back to Izuku. "What about you? Most kids your age are eager to show off what amazing heroes they'll be, using their quirk left and right. What's your deal, then?" All Smite asked with disdain thick in his voice, which Izuku didn't understand.
"Oh, I can't be a hero," Izuku said quietly.
"Why not?"
"Because... I'm quirkless."
Izuku looked up again. A shiver went down his spine at the intense blue eyes holding his gaze. It occurred to him in that moment that perhaps he shouldn't have admitted to being so vulnerable in front of one of the most famous villains in all of Japan. Yet again, if All Smite had wanted to hurt him, he probably would have done it by now.
"Quirkless, huh?" the man said as he dropped the butt of his cigarette to the ground and pressed into it with his boot. "You shouldn't go around admitting that to just anyone, you know. It's dangerous out there for quirkless people like us."
"Yeah, I... Wait, what?"
All Smite smirked at Izuku as Izuku tried to process what the villain just revealed. He had studied many heroes and villains alike to understand their quirks, and there was a lot of speculation about All Smite's, but never did Izuku imagine...
"Come on, kid," All Smite said, cocking his head to the side indicating Izuku should follow. "You look like you have some villains in your own life. Tell me about them. Maybe we can help each other out."
Izuku wasn't sure what to think of the offer. Yet again, he had never met anyone quirkless before, and certainly not anyone who could hold their own in a fight the way All Smite could. So, he tentatively followed.
"What's your name by the way, young man?" All Smite asked.
"Uh... Midoriya. Izuku Midoriya."
"Well, Midoriya, go ahead and call me Yagi. People in these parts don't take too kindly to the name All Smite."

I wish you would write a fic where All Might is able to give Nighteye a piece of his mind
Yes, I have been sitting on this ask forever. Thank you for your patience, Goofy! This is an AU where Nighteye recovered after the Overhaul fight. It's probably not as scathing as you were going for, but it's what my brain came up with.
Apologies
Toshinori listened to the slow, erratic beep of the heart monitor. The glowing green from the intermittent jagged line representing Nighteye's heartbeat lit the pale face of his former sidekick in the otherwise dark hospital room. Toshinori let out a heavy sigh, which was quickly followed by a small cough. He wiped the blood from his lips and gazed at the red on his hand, miscolored by the dim, dark room.
I should be the one in this bed, he couldn't help but think.
He felt his hunch grow deeper and deeper as he remained on the stool. Truthfully, he didn't even know what he was still doing there. The doctors said it could be a while before Nighteye woke up, and even if he did wake up soon, what would the man think of him being at his side after all this time?
"All... Might?"
Toshinori's head snapped up at the sound of the croaking voice, muffled slightly by the ventilator. Nighteye's eyes were barely open, but they were open.
"Nighteye, I--"
"You're here."
They both sat in silence for a moment as they let that statement sink in.
"I am here," Toshinori answered, nodding slightly.
Nighteye continued to stare as Toshinori brought a hand to the back of his neck, rubbing it in his discomfort, attempting to release the tension he had held for years. Finally, with another sigh, he dropped his hand and fidgeted with his fingers.
"The doctors say you'll make a full recovery in time," he started, still not looking at his former sidekick. He bit his lip, uncertain of how to proceed.
"You didn't sit by my bedside to tell me that, though." Toshinori swallowed, his brow furrowing before looking back up at his former sidekick.
"I'm glad you're going to be okay, I really am," he started carefully. "Otherwise I'd never get to tell you--"
"I'm sorry, All Might," Nighteye croaked.
"Don't apologize to me," Toshinori shot back, finding his resolve. "Not now, not until you're better anyway. But you need to apologize to Midoriya." Nighteye's eyebrows raised, but Toshinori did not falter. "You brought him into our disagreement, treated him unfairly because you didn't agree with my choices. Disagree with me all you want, but you can't take it out on him, not anymore. He's... He's a good boy, and he will make a great hero."
Nighteye pursed his lips as he stared back at Toshinori. Then, he took a deep breath.
"You're right. He will. I've seen it."
Toshinori couldn't help but sit up straighter at that.
"You have?" Nighteye nodded slightly from his pillow.
"I have. He still wouldn't be my pick, but... You chose well, All Might."
Toshinori did his best to hold back a wobbling smile, looking down at his hands once more.
"Thank you for saying that," he replied softly. "That means a lot to me, coming from you."

hmmmm....why don't you try to write a dadmight and izuku sparring scene or just any scene where they're fighting each other? i don't think i've seen that many before. can be with or without quirks – Sea
This is a great ask for this prompt, Sea! I got totally stalled on a different fic idea I had because of a fight scene. They're really not my thing.
Let's do it!
Old Man
"What are you waiting for, my boy?"
Izuku eyes squinted against the morning light as it poured through the trees of their wooded training spot. He kept his fists raised, but they unclenched slightly, uncertainty filling him at All Might's relaxed stance. He knew the plan for training today was for them to fight quirkless, but the way All Might stood with his arms crossed, almost looking bored, unnerved Izuku more than when his hero buffed up and played the villain.
"Um, are you sure you're--" Izuku started when he suddenly felt the wind get knocked out of him. He sputtered and coughed as he bent over All Might's thin arm that had appeared out of nowhere. His mentor's fist had thrust into Izuku's stomach with a startling amount of force.
"Even if you were going to go on the offensive," All Might explained, pulling his arm away and patting Izuku on the back as he continued to cough and hack, "you still need to be thinking of your defenses. Your arms were too--"
This time, it was Izuku's turn to take All Might off guard. As he remained bent over, he brought his right leg up and swung it around in one swift motion, knocking into the back of All Might's knee and bringing him to the ground. Izuku glanced up, unable to suppress a smirk as the sight of All Might's gaze growing dark and challenging as he bared every one of his teeth in a menacing grin.
"I'm not going down that easily," Izuku declared.
Without even standing up, All Might swung a fist at Izuku's jaw. Expecting it, Izuku grabbed it with his hand and clenched, but it caused him to miss how All Might swung his leg around, knocking Izuku onto his back. Izuku lept up and threw his full weight towards All Might in an attempt to land his own punch into his mentor's good side.
But to his surprise, All Might didn't make a move to dodge. Instead, he grabbed Izuku's outstretched arm, tugged it until Izuku was turned around, then wrapped both of his arms around Izuku and he laughed and made them both fall into the leafy grass.
"Let me go!" Izuku laughed as he made a poor attempt to struggle free from the hold, twisting his body and thrashing his legs. All Might kept his hold tight around Izuku's waist with his left arm as he lifted his right to clasp Izuku's arms to his chest. All Might's laughter quieted into chuckles as they both relaxed, their breath evening out after their little match.
"You did great, my boy," All Might said as he loosened his hold on Izuku. Izuku made no attempt to move, closing his eyes and basking in the glow of the compliment and the early morning sun.
"You still got me."
"It would be quite the feat to get the jump on any pro with a career that spanned decades, even quirkless. You did great," All Might repeated, bringing his hand up to ruffle Izuku's hair. "Ready for a rematch?"
"Sure," Izuku said, rolling fully out of All Might's hold, causing the dead leaves to crunch as he landed on them. He stood up, then reached his hand forward to All Might. All Might took it, standing up slowly and with a bit of a grunt before dusting himself off. "Are you sure you're good to keep going?" Izuku asked at the sight of All Might's stiff movements.
"What, too afraid to fight an old man?" he teased.
"You're not old, All Mig--" Before Izuku could finish his thought, All Might pulled Izuku forward with the hand he still held and used the proximity to knee Izuku roughly in the side. Bending forward, All Might agreed.
"Damn straight I'm not."

Hi, Kris! You can ignore this additional ask at your leisure, but I simply adore aspen trees. May I please request the dad and son in a gorgeous white-and-yellow forest? Say at midday, when the sun is directly overhead and the sky is perfect blue? <3 <3 <3
Hi, Deep! When I looked them up, they instantly reminded me of the trees at one of my favorite locations. So I'm going to use that!
Golden
Toshinori stretched his long neck, keeping his hands clasped behind his back, as he took in the sight of fluttering gold leaves against the backdrop of the blue sky. He had to squint with the sun directly overhead, but it still made for a pleasant view all the same. Paired with the gentle warm breeze, the soft crunch of the leaves beneath their feet, and the quiet breaths of Izuku beside him, Toshinori couldn't help but feel that this was one of the most relaxing moments he'd had in years.
"How did you find this place, my boy?" Toshinori regarded the scattering of thin, white tree trunks all around them before turning to look at Izuku fully. His green hair stood out in contrast to the blues and golds around them. More than that, Izuku's frown stood out to Toshinori, deepened by what he had thought had been an innocent question.
"I found it in my second year of middle school," he answered with a shrug, letting his head hang low as he kicked a few leaves on the ground. Toshinori cocked his head.
"You found it? We're a little far from home, young Izuku."
"Well..." Izuku hesitated, suggesting some part of this story might be bothersome. "I read once back then that you liked cedars."
"That's right."
"I had never seen cedars before, or any forest really, so I searched online for a forest I could get to by the train. I found this one and decided to come here one day when Mom was working..." Izuku glanced up at Toshinori, causing the man to instantly understand that he must have done this without his mother's permission. Had it been more recent, Toshinori might have felt the need to gently scold. But Izuku's face was full of regret, so he decided to let it go, simply nodding to encourage Izuku to go on instead.
"When I got here, I was a little disappointed that the trees weren't the same. I hadn't thought that much about it when I was looking it up. But then I ended up liking the aspen trees so much, I came back here anyway. And sometimes when I came here, I couldn't help but wonder if All Might would like these trees, too..."
Izuku hadn't asked a question, but Toshinori understood very well that it was a question all the same. Smiling, Toshinori looked around at the trees once more, his golden bangs fluttering in the wind to match the leaves. A few flew before him, and he reached out to grab one. Twirling the piece of yellow in his hand, he examined it briefly before turning back to Izuku.
"I might have a new favorite tree," he answered. Taking Izuku's hand, he placed the little golden leaf in the boy's palm, prompting him to close his fingers around it. Izuku blushed, placing his hand over his heart.
"You don't have to say that, All Might..."
"I don't have to say what? The truth?"
Izuku glanced up at him, then back down at his hand with the leaf tucked neatly inside. Silently, he continued to walk, so Toshinori followed.
"I'm glad you like them," Izuku finally said, stepping a little closer to Toshinori. Toshinori lifted his hand and placed it on Izuku's shoulder as they walked.
"Thank you for bringing me here."
