Suddenly a sad and uncomfortable thought settled in my head.
Remember when All Might hit Izuku on the beach after the Kamino? Remember that hunted look on Izuku's face, how he cringed and was ready to take another punch?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was like something like that had happened before.
When someone he admired and loved raised his hand against him.
What if Hisashi had once mismanaged his emotions and hit little Izuku?...
What if that's why Inko raised Izuku alone for most of his life?
All Might is a sore callus and a pain in the finger that is very difficult and unpleasant to get rid of. And seeing him everywhere - especially at home - could be very nerve-wracking and negative for Afo. And after another Hero raid on his Villain empire, Afo could lose his control when his little son, dressed as his beloved Hero and imitating his voice, “Everything will be all right! Why? Because I'm here!”, caught him in a bad moment.
A slap and an insanely angry look.
A fright and a barely contained sob.
Horror at what he had done.
The pain and incomprehension.
The betrayal of himself.
Afo might have been frightened that history might repeat itself. Once his closest person and only family had died at his hands...
So he just ran away. Went on a business trip abroad, far, far away, so as not to put those he loves the most in danger anymore. To keep them safe. From him.
And Izuku... here it was as if he didn't expect to be embraced after all. Not to be pushed away, not to run away, not to be left alone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was the only thing he really wished for then...

Hmmm Aizawa strikes me as someone who would be very warm. Would love to experience it. I’d slither into that sleeping bag and curl up like a cat and nap in there with him.

So. In light of recent chapters, I've seen a lot of people saying that Izuku is going to permanently lose OFA. While this is a deliciously angsty concept, I disagree with them on it being canon. So here's my evidence for "bkdk are going to be dual holders you idiots".
First, the obvious - Heroes: Rising. With the movie now confirmed to be canon, this means that Izuku has not only canonically transferred OFA and gotten it back, he has done so with Katsuki specifically.
Now, the reason Izuku keeps OFA in that instance is, according to All Might, that Katsuki passed out before the transfer could be complete. However, this answer has always bugged me - why in the world would it work like that? How long does a transfer take, anyway? How long do you have to stay awake? Here's my proposal - All Might was wrong. But I'm going to put a pin in that for now, and return to it later with more evidence.
Next, these two illustrations for the Fantasy AU.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The image on the left depicts All Might wielding a large sword - a representation of One For All. In the image on the right, the sword has changed hands. And who has it, now?
Izuku, yes, but not just Izuku. The sword has been split. And it's none other than Katsuki Bakugou who holds the other half. This is a motif shown more than once in official art and manga panels - something representing One For All being split or shared between Izuku and Katsuki. I'll touch on that more in a moment.
Dual wielders.
Our third piece of evidence is the whole "win to save, save to win" motif.
Tumblr media
Not only are Izuku and Katsuki fundamentally a pair, they are the thing that completes each other and pushes the other to be their best. Win to save and save to win, two halves of a true hero. Without each other, they cannot become the "ultimate heroes". They do their best work together.
For our fourth piece of evidence, I bring you this set of panels from Katsuki's revival chapter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note the bottom panel in the first image, specifically - Toshinori standing in the background, holding a glowing ball, and little Izuku and Katsuki holding matching glowing balls in the front. The next panel reveals the All Might trading cards they both received, but it's clear that this is not a literal image. This is another example of Horikoshi representing One For All with something else - in this case, the balls of light and the cards. Why else would Toshinori be holding his own glowing orb?
Additionally, in the second image, both Izuku and Katsuki take up roughly the same amount of space on the page. This gives them equal visual weight, and once again gives the impression of equality and balance. Pairing this imagery with the "beginning" part of the "end of an era and the beginning of a new one" bit shows that they will be a duo, continuing on All Might's legacy together.
Our final piece of evidence (for now) is Kuudo's words to Banjo and Yoichi.
Tumblr media
Let me call back to my first point. The explanation that Katsuki didn't get OFA because he passed out during the transfer never sat right with me. I don't think that's what happened.
I think One For All chose to stay with Izuku, and this set of panels backs me up. The other holders - some of them, at least - are staying with Izuku, despite him giving One For All to Katsuki. They have enough agency to do that.
One For All is not leaving Izuku.
Kuudo has asked Banjo to stay with Izuku, and Yoichi to watch over him. The quirk isn't leaving Izuku - it's expanding. Kuudo will likely still be within the vestige world himself, but like Banjo staying at Izuku's side to help him, Kuudo will be with Katsuki.
In conclusion (for now);
One For All is and will always be Izuku's quirk. It's just Katsuki's quirk, too, now.

Just thoughts of Bakugou being arguably the most devoted of all the BNHA boys come to me as I lay here in bed. I subscribe to the what others say about him being the type picking out a ring on the second date.
Bakugou who entertains little daydreams of you and him doing domestic tasks. Then cursing at himself that he is getting caught up in fantasies while he should be focusing on something else. But he won’t stop daydreaming.
Bakugou who frequently finds himself thinking of new recipes to make for you. He adores the little routine of him being the chef and you being taste-tester. Sometimes he will let you chop some vegetables but chides you for not doing them efficiently. But it gives him an excuse to teach you by guiding you from behind. As you sinks your back into his warmth. His ears flaring pink.
Bakugou who embodies the “that’s my wife/husband” energy before you guys are even married. He frequently refers to you as his betrothed to literally anyone who asks about you. Or not even when they ask about you. But god forbid you actually ask him about it. He will only tsk at you and say “where the hell did you hear that, dumbass?”

My friend asked about the parallels between Izuku & AFO and Katsuki & Yoichi respectively, answering his questions, he also asked “Why insert this plot twist now?”, after which I was carried away into thoughts that made my brain explode!!
Now I'm talking about:
1. Parallels between the Kamino Incident, where when Toshinori found out that Tomura is Nana's grandson and when the villagers, instead of being disillusioned with the Symbol of Peace, began to support him (let's just imagine that this news will come out right during the battle, LIVE).
2. Parallel with the Todoroki arc, where it turns out that Dabi is the son of Endeavor, a villain. After which so much shit was poured on the hero, so much of it surfaced that you can go nuts (again, going live), + it will also be very ironic that Izuku, who once said to Shoto something like: “You are not your father,” will hear the same thing from Shoto himself after the news.
3. Incident in the Pro-Hero Arc. A nameless fan of Izuku, or maybe someone close to him (for some reason, Inko is the first one that comes to mind...), like Hiroshi Tameda (the pink-haired Endeavor fan from this arc who inspired the crowd), will side with Izuku, calling on people don't lose faith in him! This could also be very symbolic, since these two battles are Endeavor and Izuku's debuts as the new Symbols of Peace.
And once again, for those who do not understand: THESE ARE JUST MY THOUGHTS ABOUT WHAT THE THEORY WITH DFO CAN GIVE US CONFIRMATION, THIS IS NOT CANON (at least for now).

Chapter 414 spoilers
Ok! I am very exited to see where the rest of the chapters go in this arc as this is exactly what I wished would happen ever since learned that One For All and All For One could interact in their own mind-scape. And that is for Deku and by extension the past wielders to witness Shigaraki's memories as I have always believed that would be the key to saving him.
Why?
Well because it forces the past wielders to humanise him, it's kinda the same affect that happened on the fandom when we begun to learn of Shigaraki's past. At first we also dismissed him as a crazy man child with no prospects and no reason for why he is the way he is however, by learning more about him and seeing the world though his perspective we began to understand and care for him, with many wishing to see him succeed in his goals despite the fact he was a villain. And I believe a similar effect will happen with Deku and the vestiges.
Deku already wishes to save Shigaraki but he doesn't understand him which is the main reason he has been unsuccessful in his attempts, as to truly save someone like Shigaraki you need to know them and understand their goals, believes and what they cherish. And Deku simply doesn't, which lead to his rescue attempts ringing hollow in Shigaraki's ears as to him they were simply insincere platitudes spat at him by an ignorant hero.
Which brings us to Shigaraki's part in this, as we learn in this chapter that the memory swap is not a one sided affair as he can also see Deku's memories. This is important as I believe this will ultimately be the foot in the door that will allow Deku the break through to Shigaraki. As I don't believe it's a coincidence that Shigaraki is being shown the memories of Deku saving other people, I believe through witnessing these events Shigaraki will go through the same realisation that Kudou went though and learn that Deku truly wishes to reach out a hand and help him.
But that's just my thoughts

Why Dont More BNHA SI-OCs end up Animals?
No, seriously, Nedzu is both terrifying and an INCREDIBLE asset.
If you were a Villian. An ends justify the means sort of bloke, as it were, why WOULDN'T you try and make another Nedzu? Sure, he promises terrible, terrible, blood soaked Vengeance, the likes of which sane men fear to contemplate and madmen shudder to behold, but? It's not like THEY'LL get caught!
They are VERY smart.
They have a plan!
Are you catching the sarcasm? Cause they sure are catching these Probably A Stoat Hands! And a tire iron! No survivors! *Nedzu's back up coughs awkwardly* Fine. SOME survivors! But he's still upset.
He dislikes Labs.
And think about it! Really, what is more likely? Some rando has? Two(2) SEPERATE Quirks? One of which not only kicked pre-birth, but is continual and very likely the ONLY THING keeping THAT PARTICULAR SOUL in that body. While the other is? *spins the wheel* Meh. We'll figure it out later.
Those are VERY different Quirks!
They would require VERY different secondary adaptations. Some of which might CONFLICT. Fatally no less. It would also be a rather notable quirk mutation, from their parents.
Possibly HEREDITARY.
Gonna have your OC grapple with the reality the not ONLY have a Chronic, Life Threatening, Quirk Reliant Medical Condition. That if the ever get arrested, falsely or not, they better PRAY those cops both notice and GIVE A SHIT about their medical bracelet... or that's it.
One pair of Quirk Suppressing Handcuffs.
Any medical grade Suppressant.
They'll die. Plain and simple. Dressed up in fancy medical jargon, their body will just... given out. Like a puppets who's strings are cut.
Oh, and it's HEREDITARY.
Because Quirks run in bloodlines. And once a mutation happens? It's here to stay! So her/his/their KIDS all stand the chance of being yoinked from another world. And their grandkids. Great grandkids. For however long it takes to shift into something else.
Here's a brochure on adoption.
You know, assuming you live that long.
Is it a great idea to explore? Fuck yeah! Am I gonna do it? Fuck no! So free to a good home I guess, just lemme read it! But!! You know what SIDE STEPS all this?
Quirked Animals!
Perfect for all you dub-... actually, let's not lie to ourselfs, WILDLY UNETHICAL scientific needs! You can splice in genes for intelligence Quirks! Maybe you'll get it right! Ballpark it! So what if loads of them die horrifically? Something, something, in the name of progress! They tell themselves.
Nedzu :) Violently :) Disagrees :)
But he ALSO! Only soooorta gives a shit about... like a small handful of humans. A fellow Quirked Animal? Who needs Schooling and legal Gaurdianship? A guide to the world of humans?
Not to MENTION? My Ace ass love the concept? Of abstracting attraction!
Because!
You are a Cat.
You are a Quirked Cat. You Quirk allows you sentience and memories of being human. Do you still find humans attractive? Or was that your human body? Do you find CATS attractive? They are animals. Your mind rebels. But? Were two images, drawn upon a wall, presented too you? Which would be desirable to you now?
Well groomed fur? A charming grin?
No one and nothing?
You are a Cat. A teenager. Around you, your peers speak of dates and crushes and dreams of marriage in some far off future day. You struggle to reach the seat of your desk, too see the board properly. You have nothing you can add to their conversations.
Clothing feels oppressive and wrong against your fur.
It feels worse to be naked.
You are a Cat.

the manga has been absolutely amazing recently but i honestly think the best example of horikoshi’s writing is right here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this kid. he kicked ass during the sports fest. wasn’t any more violent than his classmates and the only difference between him and them is that katsuki fucking won.
but he was made out to be a dangerous liability. this is the kid that didn’t want to sneak into a bar because he wouldn’t get into UA if he were caught. you cannot tell me he did anything after he woke that warranted restraints. this is also the kid that we saw get held hostage and suffocated by a villain. but those restraints wouldn’t remind him of how helpless he felt in the villain’s hold, now would they? in that moment, UA only cared about their appearance and reputation.
all of these emotions. everything that katsuki is feeling. all of the passing comments about katsuki’s “villainous” behavior
and horikoshi writes all of it off as comic relief so it comes as more of a surprise when he reveals that shigaraki wants to kidnap katsuki.

I wasn’t going to cry because I saw the leaks and the fire it caused in the fandom earlier this weekend and I knew what was going to happen in the chapter this morning, and figured there’s likely a way Bakugo’s okay or will make it out of this, so I haven’t been too worried—but then I saw Aizawa’s face
Tumblr media
I saw this look on Aizawa—who already screamed for someone to help his second problem child—now screaming again because his explosion son may very well have had his heart explode, and it was like being punched in the stomach and the air left me and I…
I’m…at a lost for words and feel grief for all of them, all of these kids and heroes, but especially for Aizawa who is sitting from afar watching this go down helplessly grabbing at his capture weapon because he can’t help his student, despite the fact that if he could, he absolutely would have. He’s screaming like a parent who helped all of his children before countless times (to the point of being physically incapable of helping the way he has before) but now no longer can as he watches the worst case scenario unfold before his eyes.
idk I’m rambling but this moment with Bakugo hurt but it hurt even more that we had to see Aizawa see something horrible happen to him and there was nothing he could do about it, while probably internally blaming himself that he wasn’t there to stop Bakugo from becoming another Shirakumo.

Chapter 304/305 is as much a treasure trove of DFO as the Kamino’s fight. Let's remember:
“Yagi-kun is the only (sole) exception.”
Tumblr media
This is what Yoichi says about why Toshi appears in the world of the Vestiges in his obscure form. He has made the quirk his own in 40 years of owning the OFA, but since he doesn't have a quirk factor of his own - he has lived with the quirk for 40 years and has a misty form. Toshi gave the OFA factor his own personality, thus becoming the true owner of the OFA. (And it's interesting because the OFA quirk was originally positioned as an “stockpile power (might),” and Toshi chose the name for his hero, All Might). So it's a stretch to accept that the OFA consists of a total of 8 quirks - quirk bestowal, gearshift, fa jin, danger sence, black whip, smoke screen, float, superpower (accumulation of/stockpile power).
But the most interesting thing here is something else. Yoichi says that “Ironically, this quirk was meant to be reserved for those who originally had no powers. And it's up to them to unleash the full potential of this quirk.”
Tumblr media
Notice he is talking about “power/chikara” 「力」, not “quirk/kosei” 「個性」. In his time, quirks were called “meta ability/inou” 「異能」, so simply “power” and “quirk” are not synonymous here. Consequently, the OFA was not originally intended for the quirkless, as it might seem from reading Yoichi's speech, but for those who lack the strength to do anything to achieve their goals and dreams.
※ Yoichi originally had a quirk, but no power until Afo gave him the quirk of “stockpile power”. That's what gave Yoichi the power to change something and start actively fighting against Brother.
※ Second and Third had quirks, but they also had their own power to change things - people followed them, they were faces of resistance and struggle, they were leaders. That's why in fact they didn't need the OFA, since the common goal was already achieved by their own forces.
※ Shinomiri Hikage probably just became involved in the fight with Afo by accident, but quite successfully given his own quirk. He didn't fight Afo, was a recluse, but accumulated power to pass on to the next person who could continue the main cause of the OFA.
※ Daigoro Banjo, the first pro hero in the OFA’s line. He had fought villains, and therefore Afo (we have a flashback where Banjo was shown at the height of Afo's domination) even before he got OFA, so this quirk was like a crutch for him as a healthy man.
※ En, as the Banjo’s kohai with whom he fought against the villains and Afo, didn't need much of an extra quirk either. He hasn't lived very long after getting OFA either, he looks a little older than Izuku - a year or two, maybe a little more. So he probably didn't even have time to become a pro hero, dying in one of his fights.
※ Shimura Nana is a pro hero who has already successfully fought evil along with her hero-friend Gran Torino. And even after she passed on the OFA to Toshinori, she was still an active hero capable of fighting Afo.
By the way, we haven't been told a word that after receiving the OFA, the quirks of the owners became stronger in their effect (Second and other Predecessors say that their quirks became stronger by the 9th generation OFA) or a super power appeared. The latter is likely, but probably not in large quantities, since Nana trained Toshinori so that his body could withstand the accumulated power. Also, being pro heroes, Banjo and Nana might have raised questions in the public - where did they suddenly get their super powers besides their usual quirks - Black Whip and Float? And En doesn't look particularly strong, though maybe it wasn't Afo who ripped his arm off, but the use of OFA’s superpowers?... It's also entirely possible, given the requirement for OFA from Nana (and Toshi) - it's mandatory to have a trained trained body to withstand the full force of the OFA.
※ And now we come to “The Only Exception”, Yagi Toshinori, All Might. He did not originally have a quirk, as evidenced by the fact that in the Vestige world he does not have his own Vestige, and is represented there as Misty Might. However, he has made this quirk his own over the 40 years he has owned the OFA, so we can assume that the embodiment of the OFA Force in the form of Misty Might is his own kind of Vestige. And going back to Yoichi's words about who the OFA should belong to - Toshi had no Power, no quirk, but he did have the Will and Spirit to want and have the noble goal of fighting evil and becoming a Symbol of Peace.
The OFA really needed Yagi Toshinori. And Nana made the right choice, which brings us to Toshi's choice.
※ Midoriya Izuku. A boy who dreams of becoming a Hero to help others in distress. A boy who conventionally has no quirks. However! Yoichi doesn't call him quirkless. But he does say the interesting phrase “the quirkless in your generation are almost extinct.” And Izuku is conventionally the fifth generation (Inko is the fourth generation), so it's very strange to be a quirkless in his generation.
Tumblr media
Moreover, a little earlier, Shinomori says that the OFA quirk can no longer be in the hands of an “ordinary(normal) person”.
Tumblr media
And normal people are those who have quirks, simple and familiar. Because for normal people to carry around a few more quirks consumes their lives. Hikage lived 18 years with 3 (4 if we separate Stockpile and Bestowal) quirks inside him, but what would happen to an ordinary person if he had 7(8) quirks in addition to his own quirks, given the Singularity point he passed and the accumulated power? That person would probably live quite a short life, probably about a year. But what about Izuku?
If “Yagi-kun is the only exception”, and Toshinori chose not to tell Izuku the information he found about the cause of Hikage's death, then perhaps it's something Izuku shouldn't know. Or something that Toshinori doesn't want to believe and denies to the last.
Izuku has a quirk.
This confirms that he - 1) was able to interact with Tomura's Vestige when he sensed the little crying boy; 2) Izuku's Vestige is taking solid form in the OFA world - little 4 year old Izuku.
Tumblr media
And this leads me to believe that it was after Izuku turned 4 years old that his quirk stopped developing and growing for some reason. And if Afo was able to pull Vestiges into that transfer space when he tried to pick up OFA, then... could Hisashi have instead pushed and blocked the Izuku’s quirk factor deep inside him? If Afo can eat quirk’s Vestiges, can diagnose quirk factors, can he also influence them in other ways? For example, can he somehow “freeze”, stop the awakening of the quirk factor? Or could the “absence” Izuku's quirk is caused by the self-induced belief that he doesn't have a quirk? A quirk is easier to manifest when one presumably knows what the quirk must be, and what the conditions must be to manifest it. Izuku tried pushing/attracting objects and breathing fire, but nothing worked. And his passion for learning quirks is like “just a hobby”, not a need to have and use quirks. The conditions (awareness) to activate his own quirks just weren't there. Could this be the case? Or did it all work together?
This is all a very big and good question. But the very existence of Izuku's quirk, while unconfirmed, is a very likely fact. It's only a matter of time before it happens (personally, I still find Toshinori's reaction extremely strange when Katsuki asks him why information about the Fourth's death was blacked out that was completely unreadable. What is Toshi so afraid of?)
Tumblr media
But let's go back to chapter 304. Yoichi’s and Hikage's words, which I won't tire of repeating “Yagi-kun is the only exception”, “the quirksless in your generation are almost extinct” and “the quirk can no longer be passed on to the ordinary person”, literally put Izuku in a separate category. Not “quirkless”, not “ordinary person”.
But an “extraordinary person with a quirk” who has been able to unleash the full potential of the OFA. A person who didn't originally have the Power to achieve his goal and dream that resonated with the OFA’s dream.
I also just love the fact that Yoichi “walks around” Izuku as carefully as possible in this chapter. The conversation is mostly about the OFA itself, about Yagi Toshinori, who is different from them all, and about the true inheritance of the quirk. A quirk that is meant for those who originally had no power, but for those who can unlock its true potential. Toshinori revealed OFA as a power that saves and inspires people. And Izuku... just reveals the rest of what is hidden in the OFA - its quirks. And that he becomes, ideally, the last holder of the quirk. (And also, for some strange reason, the OFA’s core began to evolve rapidly in late November/early December - [when the dream was - it was late March/early April, “4 months ago” being the time when the A and B classes were training together. But surely the process of quirk evolution itself started when Eri influenced Izuku with her quirk during the fight with Chisaki, and the end result was formed the night before the joint class training]. Remarkably, this didn't happen with the quirk with Toshinori). Also, peeking into chapter 305, bypassing the check from the Predecessors (I'm sure they just wanted to see what side this little Jedi is on, if there is no Sith seed in him), where Izuku shows his innocent and bright hero soul, I really like the patronizing looks Yoichi has towards Izuku. Even Toshinori doesn't look at him like that!
Tumblr media
I know those looks, only their little relatives get that look!

I know nobody is gonna really care or talk about this with me but I’ve been thinking about this and now y’all have to suffer with me :)
In My Hero Academia, what do they do to the people with extremely deadly quirks?
Like say there’s this kid who just gets their quirk. They’re like 6 rn so they’ve done literally nothing wrong. They find out that their quirk can unalive people unintentionally.
WHAT DO THEY DO WITH PEOPLE LIKE THAT
Like do they just isolate the kid so they don’t unalive anyone else on accident? Do they just get rid of the kid??? Do they try to get the quirk under control if it CAN be controlled but then they risk more lives???
Like imagine having a quirk called D3ath Stare or something like that! Where it’s super easy to accidentally unalive someone or maybe it’s something they can’t turn off!
What happens to those people?! The fact that we haven’t seen anyone like that yet is really interesting to me because we all know there’s a super high chance that there’s someone with a quirk like that!

MHA THOUGHTS! (*≧∇≦)ノ
So, today, I learned what a Green Whistle is. It's a medical device used in Australia that's basically a vape thar makes you happy, giddy, high. Ambulances give them to you to help with any pain whilst you're taken to hospital, usually for briken bones. And all I can think about is Pro hero's having access to them for emergencies! XD
The news comes on, a villain has been stopped by pro hero Hawks, who sustained a broken ankle from an awkward landing or something, and instead of him limping away looking gloomy, you get this weird, amusing footage of him laughing his ass off on the gurney, trying his best to string together a sentence to thank the medical staff. Nothing he's saying makes any sense, his words are jumbled and mix matched, but they all know he's just trying to be nice XD
Or maybe a younger pro hero who's just graduated! Shoto, oh my GOD! He dislocated his shoulder, broke his collarbone, anything like that, and they whipped out the Whistle. He takes a few drags and is GONE. Smiling away, giggling as they help him into the ambulance. That would probably be classed as valuable footage XD

CAN YOU FOR A DAMN TIME LOOK AT HIM AND FACE THE CONSEQUENCES!?

Deku asking for Tomura is so important
The one saying those words is 100% Tomura because the other eye represents AFO.
Tumblr media
But like, we all know WHO is the responsible for Tomura thinking that nobody would care about him and try to save him.
Tumblr media
So, right now, this is going in a good direction, Deku already did something that nobody has done before and by that called AFO a liar. But to be honest, in the state that Tomura/Tenko is, I think he'll be in denial first, he'll probably think that it's a trick to beat him or maybe AFO will try to make him think that.
Also, what Mirio said before was also something that could make Shigi think. Like, yeah, reality is cruel, and there is needed more than words to change it, but how does anything start if it isn't by speaking and saying it's possible?
