anyways I'm still going a little feral over the fact that the title of Volume 37 (禦ぐ者と侵す者 - 'the one who protects and the one who harms') uses 'okasu' (侵す) to describe AFO-Shiggy's violence cause 'okasu' is normally used to refer to the harm/violation of something that belongs to someone

and then such a choice in words paired with the image of Deku placing a protective hand over Dynamight's heart...

Honestly the War arc was top moment because it was humiliation after humiliation for Endeavor.

Enji wasted so many years wanting to be the best that he never actually thought about what he'd do while facing the absolutely worst case scenario. He was so blind, so arrogant, that the image he had of himself came crashing down the minute he realized the physical aspect of his work was all that mattered.

It is like Dabi says, the past never dies.

That's the issue of being a hero in body and not in mind. When the crisis comes, heroes need to face the responsibility of their actions or the stakes at hand, like Aizawa cutting his leg without a doubt or All Might giving his all in Kamino or the UA kids so many times.

For all his years of experience, Enji was being taught how to be a real hero right there and then.

Guys.

I get that why everyones freaking out about the whole handholding scene in the new OP with Izuku and Ochako and how everyone is yelling about Bones is going change the Scene but like.

Guys.

Bones isn't going to just spoil one of the most important scenes in this arc by swapping characters last minute...

It would be really fucking stupid and I don't think they can just. Do that without Horikoshi's input.

They probably did it to not spoil anything to the anime only people.

Plus.

I think it's also foreshadowing to another important scene.

It's Ochako who holds Izuku's hand later on when they return to UA so he doesn't leave again.

She's the one who yells her heart out to angry masses who blame everything on her best friend and other heroes.

She's the one who asks them, who saves heroes when they're upset?

She's the one that gives him hope in that moment that maybe, just maybe, it will be all okay and everything will return to normal one day.

So the OP scene might be Bones killing two birds with one stone by not spoilering a scene but also hinting at another one.

one of my fave post-war bkdk tropes (besides the more overt ideas of them cuddling to sleep and dating and becoming a hero duo) is that the two will just continue to seek each other out, for even mundane things. neither says anything of it. Katsuki still swears up and down that Izuku is a loser nerd. but if he wants to study with someone or play a video game or just sit quietly scrolling on his phone, he seeks out Izuku’s company. and whenever Izuku masters a new move or fills out a new page of notes, he tells Kacchan first. always tells Kacchan first about anything important to him. and now that their conflict is behind them, they're more confident in their bond, much of their time together (that isn't behind closed doors) doesn't appear soft and affectionate or even charged and tense. they're quietly studious, they're yelling at each other competitively, they're bantering. all it flows naturally. they're osananajimi. that's all there is to it.
