I spent this month trying to create a colored pencil illustrated look in Blender. I took inspiration from some classic Pokemon TCG illustrations by Aya Kusube!

I didn't really mess around with any hand drawn textures until the mimikyu model, but I might experiment with this style more in the future by texture painting cross hatching or some kind of pencil-shading look!

some fake-y live2D in blender! it’s basically the same way i use autoshapes in photoshop to block out character designs, but with the flexibility to texture maps, multiple UVs and linked meshes to drive things like hair textures, skin transparencies, outlines and line width, and even all the colors with a special node group to drive all the palette ramps

I’ve just realized that I’ve been mostly inactive for a month so I thought I’d just post a few progress pictures of what I’ve been working on

This is a concept art of a character for a school project which is on effective techniques for non-photorealistic rendering in 3d animation. This has been taking up most of my time which is why I haven’t really been able to post about my personal projects, but since Im actually really excited about this project I figured I would post it ^^

The top photo is of a 3d character made to look 2d, and the bottom photo is of the concept art of the character. I absolutely love how 2d the model ended up looking ;-; . As I continue with the project I’ll probably post more progress pics. Hopefully the end result is a short animation that mimics 2d art in 3d!
