Thank you! I like the contrast as well, it makes them very fun to draw together. I try to keep them visually distinct while still making sure that they look harmonious and complementary next to each other.

#some more design musings that I've noticed that don't really matter but I tend to think about when drawing them: #Machete's shapes have an upward direction the ears the neck fluff and even the tip of his snout has that upturned angle #while Vasco's vibe is more loose and relaxed his huge floppy ears almost make him look like he's melting #neither of them have strong markings but the positioning of the gradients they have is very similar it's just different colors #Vasco has dark almond eyes (with what I can only describe as disney eyelashes) #his irises appear nearly black but if you shone a strong light directly on them they'd reveal a honey/amber hue #Machete's eyes are big and prominent with disproportionally small pupils #lately I've been drawing him with just the faintest salmon colored irises #but if the color scheme of the piece calls for it they can be depicted more vividly red #Machete has longer untameable fur here and there while Vasco is uniformly smooth and velvety #Machete is supposed to be the serious and inhibited half of the two but his face has a lot more expressive potential than Vasco's #it's actually kind of a struggle that I can't make Vasco emote with his ears at all those are typically a huge advantage in furry art #Vasco's body language is open and casual he takes up space confidently #Machete is usually very closed and defensive he has a habit of crossing his arms and legs and keeping his hands together and close to body #in general Vasco shouldn't be wearing anything black or red and Machete can't be seen wearing blue or gold #white is neutral territory it's usually the color of sleepwear and undershirts and as a result has a more intimate tone to it #answered #ardate

I hate that the only two categories for autism are "self diagnosed" and "professionally diagnosed"

Like, technically, I have not gone through the official autism diagnosis process where a professional sits you in a chair and then decides whether or not to give you their official seal of medical approval, so I'm considered "self diagnosed"

However, that doesn't feel entirely accurate when my preschool teachers were telling my mom that she'd probably want to get me tested when I was three, and all the kids in school my entire life isolated me because I was "weird", and the IEP testing people when I finally got tested were like, "we don't know what's wrong with them exactly but asperger's seems like a safe bet," and every autistic person who knows me has told me they're pretty damn sure I'm autistic too, and my diagnosed sister told me I should seek a diagnosis, and my psychiatrist said "that would explain a lot" when asked what she thought about me potentially being autistic

In light of this, I would like to propose a third catagory: "peer-reviewed"

long-ish rant about glorification/favoritism of white people/characters oopsieeeee

i’m tired of white people being the default, i no longer want to constantly see them praised for doing the bare minimum, i’m tired of poc representation being a caricature of a minority, i’m tired of white fans constantly seeing poc characters AS those stereotypes rather than paying attention to anything they say/do/act beyond their race, ex: white fans see mercedes as some sassy black girl who can sing when she’s honestly so much more than that, like bitches don’t even care to know more, and it’s not like i’m saying that you NEED to stan/like poc characters because they’re poc, to CONSTANTLY pay attention to them because you feel the need to acknowledge poc representation, don’t do that, that’s just tokenism, rather i think we should break this norm that white characters ARE the norm if that makes any sense, to treat “poc” characters JUST AS “CHARACTERS”, i don’t want to constantly look for fanart or content of poc characters, i just want it to be as abundantly available as fanart or content of the white characters, i want people to learn to love or at least tolerate poc characters rather then seeing and branding them as “that one black girl” or “that one asian person”, i want to like a character NOT because they’re my representation, NOT because they’re the only poc person in a group, NOT because i’m begging for some kind of character who looks like me, but because i like that character. that’s all i want.

#Doodles #The Stanley Parable #TSP #Because HD Remix Stanley and Ultra Deluxe Stanley have basically the same character model I've never felt the need to differentiate them #I'll joke sometimes about Stanley's soul patch but other than that lol ♪ #But the HL Mod uses a different character model in the intro! Different clothes different hairline different skin tone! #So I went and looked around at what character model he might be - there are about ten male Citizen models in HL2 so there's some options #I was convinced he was either 07 or 09 and smol helped me settle on 07 - I was content to just leave it at that but then #I decided that since it's a mod I can just go dig through the backend files and get some actual confirmation #And I only found files related to mCitizens 05 and 06?? Which was definitely not the skin tones or textures as seen in game #So I dug around a little more and there's a face map of a blue-eyed man just hanging out in the files?? :0 Who is he #We never see that Stanley from the front and I couldn't figure out how to move the camera around in the intro cutscene :( #I'm not even sure if it isn't prerendered lol - if it isn't I'd also consider plugging in some body model glitch cheats but I don't know how #So!
