BokuAkaKuro Week 2020 - Prompts + FAQ
Tumblr media
Finally the prompts are decided! Now everyone can start thinking about how to contribute to the week to create and awesome experience for everyone, we hope you’ll enjoy it!
Please read this post to follow the event’s simple rules and some answers to help clarify all your doubts. Don’t hesitate to write us in the ask if you have more questions, we’ll eventually upload a new Q&A.
We accept every type of works: fanfictions, fanarts, edits, fanvideos, manips, moodboards, aesthetics, playlists, gifsets, headcanons, metas, etc...
Every work must be tagged as #bokuakakuroweek. Also you can directly tag us if you want to be sure we’ll see the post, but don’t forget the hashtag! We’ll reblog every post in the tag.
You can also post your works on instagram with the same hashtags. We didn’t create an ig account for the event but if you send your ig account to us we’ll help you share your BokuAkaKuro works for the week.
Please be aware this is a BokuAkaAuro week, that means that every dynamic between them is accepted, but it's a polyamorous ship we're talking about, so if you want to introduce jealousy than it’s fine as long as it’s not unrequited love. Angst is also fine but we wanna show some positive polyamouros dynamics so nothing toxic. All the contents must be about the three of them being in a relationship (romantic or platonic, it's fine if you want to explore aro/ace headcanons!) and not just two of them, there are other weeks for Bokuaka, Kuroaka and Bokuroo so please respect this ot3.
Same story goes for ot4, someone asked about other poly ships including Bokuakakuro and it's fine to include other characters in your works, but remember that this is a week dedicated to Bokuakakuro, so it doesn't seem right to transform it in a week about other ships such as ot4 like Bokuakakuroken or Bokuakakurotsuki and others, please remember this.
Nsfw are accepted and they will be reblogged but they must be tagged as #nsfw so people can blacklist the word if they don't feel comfortable with the contents.
Prompts are just for fun, so if you’re not inspired or don’t have time to post, remember that you can decide to not follow the prompts and that you don’t have to partecipate every day of the event. You can also post after the week ends, we’ll keep the account open and check the tag in the following week to reblog late posts. if you know in advance you can’t post during the event but only after, please DM us.
This is all you need to know, you can be free to do anything else but if you have some questions don’t hesitate to write us in the ask, DM us or tag us.
We hope the prompts are clear and interesting, we want to clarify just something about some of them:
Many people asked prompts for specific series / movies / books so we included "crossover" as a prompt to explore whatever universe you want to base your AU on.
With "shop au" is intended every kind of AUs that include shops such as coffee shop, florist, tattoo parlor, bookstore, laundromat and others.
Yeah, that’s it, if you have other questions about the prompts, rules or other matters, ask us and we’ll answer as soon as we can!
Remember to follow us on twitter: @ bokuakakuroweek

It's a couple of hours late, but here’s my addition to @bokuakakuroweek day 4: “The Ecology of Bokuto-san”.
It’s not that original, but I couldn't help making Akaashi a professor, and letting Kuroo be his chemistry nerd self!

(for the love of) The Soft Game, 7/7, bokuto koutarou/akaashi keiji/kuroo tetsurou.
Keiji was content to be Bokuto’s best friend, and to watch his relationship with Kuroo from the sidelines. Kuroo, however, had other plans, and he was determined to make sure they came through.
chapter 7:   Keiji probably should have realised that they weren't the only one with hang ups; the three of them took some time to accept that their relationship was never going to be static, but that wasn't such a bad thing after all. for @bokuakakuroweek day 7: human highlight reel
we’ve finally reached the end! it ended up as a much bigger baby than i expected, at 21.5K words, but i’m really glad i got to flesh it out as much as i did. i hope you enjoyed the journey.

bokuakakuro week day seven: secrets || revelations words: 2728 || rating: t
Akaashi keeps coming back to their room late. If it was anyone else, Koutarou wouldn't consider it weird. Last year Konoha was always sneaking out to visit with Shinzen's third-year manager. The year before it was their own captain and their own manager, the power couple that led Koutarou to his first nationals stage. And now it seems, it's Akaashi's turn.
Koutarou doesn't necessarily mind, except for the fact that he minds a lot. He hates that the other members of the team trade high fives in the morning after waking up to find Akaashi packing away hit futon when he hadn't even been in the room as the last of them had fallen asleep. Koutarou hates that after the high fives and Akaashi leaving the room he has to listen to his team gossip about whether or not Akaashi came back at all during the night to sleep, or if he only came back to clean up.
Koutarou hates hearing this. Koutarou doesn't care.
He doesn't care that Akaashi has become the subject of gossip for what has become the entire week. He doesn't care. He doesn't care that Akaashi takes in the noise. He doesn't care that Akaashi smiles and nods and never refutes a single word. Koutarou doesn't care about any of this. What he cares about is the fact that Akaashi hasn't said anything to him.
Zero, zip, nada.
Nothing about where he's going or who he's seeing or what he's doing. He wouldn't usually care about what he's doing because usually it goes without saying and Koutarou doesn't need those details. But he hasn't seen Akaashi spending long amounts of time with anyone. He doesn't seem particularly close to any of the managers apart from their own, and there hasn't been anything there before, it would be weird to think of something starting there now.
Koutarou watches and watches, hoping that Akaashi will either notice him and his curious eyes when the words are spoken and finally speak the truth to him or that he will be able to zero in on someone that Akaashi is spending more than the usual amount of time with.
Neither happens. Koutarou is as much on the outside regarding Akaashi's thoughts as everyone else. He feels further away, though, because Akaashi is his friend but Koutarou isn't the one laughing and joking with him about where his nights are spent, everyone else is.
At least Koutarou plays a sport that allows him to work out his frustrations over one of his best friends is keeping secrets from him. He swings his frustrations into every hit of the ball. He puts it into every spike and every serve and even when they don't go through and his team and Akaashi wait for him to implode Koutarou hits and hits and hits because the frustration is still there. Akaashi says nothing and after a day of games, Koutarou is still running hot. He's looking forward to one last night of smashing the ball down past Kuroo's giant smirk.
Akaashi will be there too, and Koutarou isn't really sure how to feel about the extra time together. After the first night, Koutarou had thought these private practices would be a good place to find out what Akaashi has been doing, but he had been disappointed. Instead, it is one of the few places where the gossip can be forgotten. Can be. It can be forgotten. It gets pushed further and further to the side as time moves on but it's always there. This secret rendezvous that Koutarou is not good enough to know more about.
It's a good thing Kuroo is such a great opponent. Koutarou can hit as hard as he likes and even when the ball bounces back he doesn't have to worry about Kuroo breaking.
Akaashi is the first to leave for dinner. Koutarou is tempted to follow him, to see where and who he sits with, but Kuroo still wants to play. Koutarou stands at the service line firing balls into the court and into Kuroo's arms until Shirofuku comes to let them know that dinner is nearly over.
Kuroo and he quickly scoop their things together and follow her to the dining hall. Koutarou is quick to spot Akaashi, sitting with a group of Karasuno, Shinzen, and their own players. Nobody suspicious. Kuroo chuckles and Koutarou knows he's been caught looking but nothing is said. Koutarou follows him to a table full of Nekoma members and ignores Akaashi for the rest of the meal as they sit to eat.
With fresh food in his system and a bath out of the way, Koutarou feels refreshed.
Refreshed, but he's still aware that Akaashi has a bath to take and then if the pattern follows he will sit in their room for a moment before disappearing into the night.
"What are you doing after this?" Koutarou asks as they disperse from the captains meeting. Unofficial, but something that has become as much a part of the training camp as the practice matches. Tradition.
"Nothing much," Kuroo answers, and Koutarou pounces.
He clasps onto Kuroo's arm and drags him down to the room where they're staying. Akaashi is still with them, for now, and Koutarou wants Kuroo's help to figure out where Akaashi is going. It should be easy enough to work out as a team. Kuroo is cunning and Koutarou is curious and together they should be able to crack the mystery.
Akaashi looks at Kuroo curiously as he sits in to join in the card game but nothing is said.
When the first years return to the room, fresh-faced and sleepy it takes only an hour for everyone else to start settling into bed. Koutarou pulls Kuroo into the corner where his futon is set up across the room from Akaashi's. It's not suspicious at all. It's sneaky. And when Akaashi sneaks out, they can sneak out after him.
Akaashi is the opposite of sneaky when he leaves. Half the room is asleep and it's only the third years who sit up to watch him as he crosses the room, and of all the people he announces his leave to it is Kuroo.
Koutarou doesn't care at all.
"See you in the morning!" Kuroo says as Akaashi pulls him to his feet, offering to walk him back to his room.
Koutarou fumes. No, he hadn't told Kuroo the plan, but he thought Kuroo would have known that playing cards was not the only thing Koutarou wanted to do when inviting him to the room. Has he not heard the gossip? Is he not also curious? Had he not caught Koutarou watching after Akaashi earlier in the day? Was it not obvious?
Now Koutarou will have to sneak after Akaashi himself. He doesn't want to. He doesn't want to go behind Akaashi's back, doesn't want to lose his trust. But if he's not trusted with something like this, something that is normally bragged about but that Akaashi keeps quiet about, then is he trusted by him really at all? Not in Koutarou's mind because he shares everything and he wants to know what Akaashi is doing. Who he's doing--
No, he's not going to go there. He doesn't want to go there. He doesn't want to think about it. It makes him hot and angry for no particular reason and he doesn't quite know why.
He just wants to know what Akaashi is up to. He wants to know. He wants to tell Akaashi he knows. He wants to prove then that he can know the secret and keep the secret and Akaashi doesn't have to keep anything from him anymore.
Kuroo's voice is loud and Koutarou chases the noise down the corridor, but this part he could have done easily. He knows the room where Nekoma stays.
He doesn't know where they go when they walk straight past the open door, Yaku calling out that Kuroo should be quieter when he comes in and an echo of laughter following the words.
Koutarou doesn't know what to think, how to feel. His eyes and ears as Kuroo pulls Akaashi by the hand into a classroom further down the same corridor tell him that Kuroo is the one Akaashi has been spending his nights with. Why Kuroo? Why Kuroo and not him? Why would Akaashi not tell him that it's Kuroo? Koutarou won't judge, he actually kind of understands. He understands why Akaashi has said nothing to anyone else, he understands why the times when it's only the three of them nothing gets said, he understands what it is that they see in each other.
They're both smart and cunning and conniving and beautiful and they're both his best friends and Koutarou has just learned that neither of his best friends trust him enough to tell him their secret. This secret. Neither of his best friends trust Koutarou with the secret of their happiness being found in each other.
Koutarou is going to tell them. He's going to tell them that he doesn't care about anything that they might be worried about. None of that bothers him. He's going to tell them that the only thing that bothers him is the fact that he wasn't told. He's trustworthy, he can keep a secret. Especially one as big as this about people who mean as much as they do.
There's silence on the other side of the door that Koutarou stands at, and it hasn't even been closed properly. He takes this as a sign. If it was likely for him to walk in on something he doesn't want to see then surely the door would be closed.
And there's nothing too suspicious that he walks in on. There's nothing suspicious about Kuroo and Akaashi holding their heads together, sitting opposite sides of a desk and making notes in a book that sits between them.
"Hey!" Koutarou cheers quietly into the silent room. There is, however, something suspicious in the way they jump apart and rush to hide the book at his entrance. "What are you doing?" He continues as if he hasn't noticed the tension that feels the room now that they know he's there.
"Studying," Akaashi says, and Koutarou watches with a strange kind of amusement as Kuroo drops his jaw to stare in confusion at Akaashi's words.
"Studying?"
"Studying," Akaashi repeats.
"What are you studying?" It's August. Akaashi isn't going to summer classes and they don't have any exams or tests for a long while. Not unless Akaashi's teachers like to surprise them with tests first thing back after the break.
Akaashi opens his mouth but no words come out and he looks to Kuroo for help. Koutarou stares Kuroo down as well who visibly gulps under the attention and smiles. It's evil he knows, but eventually, they'll crumble and he'll know and they'll know and there'll be no more secrets and everyone can be happy and Koutarou can direct attention elsewhere when they meet up again in a few weeks for another training camp.
"We have to tell him," Kuroo says.
"We can't!"
"What can't you tell me?" Kuroo seems like he's about to crumble but Kuroo forces his eyes on Akaashi because he seems to be the one holding all the cards in this situation.
"Don't look at me like that, it's not fair."
Koutarou is done pouting for answers. "Then just tell me!" He shouts, making both of them jump. He takes a deep breath to continue in a quieter voice, one that hopefully won't carry through to the Nekoma room. "If you want me to keep it a secret I will, I won't tell anyone else I promise!" He was trying not to shout, but it isn't working. "I don't like not knowing. I don't care if you guys are in love with each other and happy and gushing like everyone else. I mean, I do care a little bit, I care that you're happy, I like that you guys are happy! I hate that you didn't trust me enough to tell me!"
Koutarou still has more to say, but Kuroo is laughing and Akaashi is smiling and it's clear that his point has gotten through. To them and maybe to the Nekoma room but judging by their teasing and laughing earlier it seems like something they all know already - the perks of a small team he guesses.
"Akaashi!" Kuroo shouts, louder than Koutarou had been shouting, "I love you!"
Akaashi had been smiling but now the corners of his lips turn down instead. "Please do not say such a thing."
Kuroo grasps at his chest and it's this action more than anything that clues Koutarou into the fact that something is not quite as it seems. "You're breaking my heart!"
Akaashi looks at Kuroo distastefully and Koutarou blushes for his thoughts, for what he had assumed was a secret love affair, for knowing in his gut now, that these secret meetings are nothing of the sort.
Akaashi glares at him and Koutarou takes it. "You've put this into his head now and he's not going to let it go now."
Koutarou's face burns. "You're not dating, then?"
"We're not," Akaashi states firmly.
"We could be!" Kuroo replies at the same time.
"No."
"Do I get to know what the secret meetings are about at least? I can tell it's not studying."
Kuroo and Akaashi stare at each other for a little while, and if he had seen it earlier in the night he might have called it longingly, lovingly, but he's not going to say that now.
"Would you rather a gift or a meal?" Akaashi asks.
"Food!" Koutarou answers, not taking the time to consider why the question was even asked.
"I told you," Akaashi says to Kuroo. "Keep your calendar open on Friday night five weeks from now."
"Oh," Koutarou says, "oh! Thank you!" He rushes to the desk and crushes an arm around both of them. "I love you both!"
"Bokuto-san, I would really prefer if you didn't start that too. Kuroo-san doing it is already bad enough. You already ruined our surprise can you please at least give me this."
Koutarou relents, releasing them both and Akaashi pulls the notebook back to the table. It's filled with words and ideas, some circled, some scribbled out. "Don't worry Akaashi, we can at least keep it a secret where we plan to go, right?" He looks to Koutarou and he nods his head. He knows the secret now. It doesn't mean he's trusted but at least he's not left out anymore.
"I'll leave you two to it then!" He's more excited for his birthday now than he had been before.
In the morning, Koutarou listens to the teasing words, to Akaashi taking them with nods and smiles and one specially sent in Koutarou's direction with a sparkle in his eyes. Ah, so that's why he agrees with everything. Akaashi finds it funny that so many people are a mix of curious and jealous that he's been spending most of his nights elsewhere. At least he seems to be enjoying it until Kuroo drapes an arm over his shoulder and opens his mouth. It's obvious to Koutarou immediately what is going to happen.
"Akaashi, my love! Come eat with me, it's the last time we'll get to share a meal together for a while!" Kuroo pulls him by the hand and Akaashi's eyes could kill, but they aren't directed at him so Koutarou laughs into the chaos that erupts at Kuroo's words.
