21. Do they get lost easily? Will they ask for directions if they are?

Brittany - She definitely does but she tries to figure it out on her own first before asking for directions. If she’s really, really lost though she’ll just cut to the chase and ask. 

Santana - I wouldn’t say it happens easily, but it does happen on occasion and like Brittany she usually tries to sort it herself. She ultimately gets frustrated and annoyed with the whole being lost thing tho lol so she’ll end up seeking help.

‘’Yeah, I love my dad too but he’s like mondo dorky. The first time I brought the flour baby home he took it into his arms and proceeded to take a bunch of silly selfies with it, all of which he proudly posted on his Facebook. What makes him even more embarrassing is he’s the kind of dork who thinks he’s a dreamy heartthrob or whatever. Honestly, I don’t even know how my mom fell for him.’’

‘’You know I’ve always thought you and your dad were a lot alike.’’

‘’Puh. Whaaaaaat?’’ Santana scoffed at the insinuation that she was anything remotely like her father. There was no way. She was smooth, she was sexy, she was striking. Her dad, however, was the definition of nerd. He always tried way too hard and was never not over the top, not to mention prone to ridiculous blustery fits that fizzled out with him huffing and puffing like a toddler. He was the most ridiculous human being alive in Santana’s eyes, and there was no way she was anything like him.

‘’Yeah totally,’’ Brittany insisted with a laugh. ‘’You and your dad are like almost the same person. Me and your mom talk about it all the time.’’

‘’You what?’’

‘’It’s remarkable how much you take after him. Not just physically either although the resemblance is totally there but I also see it in the way you both talk and react. You even have some of the same mannerisms. You both like to think you’re all suave and serious but the truth is you and your dad are like super cuddly baby kittens.’’

‘’Uhhhh I’m offended. There’s nothing cuddly or kitten like about me. And for the record my dad wishes he was half as cool and awesome as me.’’

Brittany made a small accommodating noise, almost as if she were humoring Santana.

‘’You do realize of course that by saying I’m like my father you’re basically calling me a giant dork, right?’’ Santana wanted to clarify things. ‘’I’m head cheerleader, queen of McKinley. The entire student body worships at my throne.’’

‘’Last week you cried because someone at the Lima Bean made your drink wrong.’’

‘’Well I asked for a tall non-fat latte with caramel drizzle and they forgot my drizzle, Brittany.’’

‘’Yeah I know I was there.’’

‘’I think you just fail to understand how devastating that was to me at the time. Like I’m still contemplating a lawsuit based on the emotional trauma they inflicted.’’

‘’The fact that you can’t see how nerdy and ridiculous you are is what makes you just like your dad.’’

Santana pulled a face. The hell was her girlfriend talking about.

This scene from The Flour Baby. I don’t know why but I think about this scene a lot, specifically ‘they forgot my drizzle, Brittany’. It just makes me smile. This short scene also sums up how I write them generally. Santana is obnoxious and comically over-reactive, Brittany is stoic and can’t believe she’s in love with such a hot idiot.

Ugh yesss. All these dumb people like “let two gay guys be friends without it being romantic/sexual” but also what’s better than being besties first and then starting a relationship?? nothing that’s what. so like i probably do like blam more as a bromance than a romance but also i’m not opposed to them having a sweet little fling. also none of this “what if” crap lmao sam is bi and that’s that lol

they should’ve just pushed the proposal back and let kurt and blaine stay apart for longer. so kurt can have a “relationship” with the damp paper towel adam, and also have a fling with elliott that ends with them still being good friends lol. and blaine would have a relationship with sam and then maybe a little hookup fling with jake. i just love blaine and jake together don’t judge me

i do think bram was kind of cute but idk they messed around with it too much :( and sam is so shippable. he would’ve been cute with blaine in s4. or tina, beyond just a dumb makeout lol. and i also like him with marley! i think they’d make a cute couple (also shout out @brittelizzabeth for keeping the sarely love alive!)

and for the most favorite one I’d probably still go wiiith Samcedes! I mean like yes they messed around with them too but idk. They have a lot of sweet moments and they’re such a cute couple. And Human Nature is a top tier duet. Also the mature heart to hearts they have around the end of s5 one written by mr christopher paul colfer himself nbd are really touching and thoughtful and done well. I mean obviously they have their problems like any other dumb couple on this show lol. But they are pretty much my second favorite canon couple so yeah. Samcedes <3

(17) Do you think readers perceive your work - or you - differently to you? What do you think would surprise your readers about your writing or your motivations?

Probably not? I share a lot about my motivations and inspirations in the author’s notes of my stories and although I don’t reveal identifying information in fandom spaces, I’m otherwise quite open with those who talk to me. 

I guess one thing is... I try to tone down how desperate I am for comments because it really isn’t an attractive look but to be completely honest that is a huge motivator for me. I don’t have ocd but I have what I guess you could call an obsessive streak and receiving comments definitely can feed into that. Like someone checking their phone to see if their crush has texted back, I’ve definitely hit refresh every five minutes on my email or Ao3 inbox just hoping that there will be something new. It isn’t something I’m proud of but it is true.

Like I said...I’m quite open on here 😬

Tell me what you think of me or my work in my ask box and I’ll tell you if you’re right... but like I said, I think people probably have a good sense of me by now.
