trigger warning for cancer!!
just got off the phone with my dad and my corgi, macy, does have bladder cancer. the vets have been taking their time trying to figure out everything but they finally got back to my dad today to tell him the news. we have 3 options for treatment and none of them are cheap. i hate to do this but i’m in the process of moving 2 more hours away from my family and i want to help them out as much as i can while also not having to ask them for money.
i’m not asking for donations, i’m really not, i sell divination readings so if you’d like to help my parents, myself, and most importantly — macy, please consider buying a reading from me! i have p*yp*l, v*nmo, c*sh*pp, ko-fi, and z*lle ((message me for that))
i’m more than willing to offer multiple readings for a lower price, i’m just desperate to help my parents and my dog. we have 4 dogs in total so having to spend a lot on macy is going to cause issues for everyone in the house so please, please consider sharing this post so people can potentially buy a reading from me.
this is a post that no one ever wants to make but here are some silly pictures of macy begging for my siblings food!!

Digital Divination: The Survey!
It's time! As I compile information about apps and various divination methods from across the Internet, I've decided to publish a survey via Google Forms to get more direct answers from diviners and from people who hire diviners (paid or free).
If you'd like to participate in the survey, click here! I'll be leaving it open for responses for a few weeks, possibly through the end of the year.
Please feel free to share the survey in your witchy Discords, on Facebook, on Twitter, on your own blogs, wherever! The more exposure it gets, the more responses I'll receive, and the better my research will be for it. Even if you don't repost it elsewhere, and even if you don't take the survey, please reblog (don't just like!!) to help spread it around!
A public breakdown of results will be posted once the survey closes, but Ko-Fi supporters can expect early glimpses of results, raw data, and preliminary conclusions (so long as I get enough entries!).

I know osteomancy/bone throwing is a growingly popular form of divination these days, but there are two things I want y'all to know while you are picking bones for your sets.
Look up the laws regarding having certain wildlife remains in your possession. Some are fully legal, some require paperwork and some are off limits.
Do not pick bones just because you like them. Consider the spirit of the animal. Consider the folklore and cultural stories from their native lands (especially if the animal is only native to one place). Not all animal bones will be suitable.

I just made my first osteomancy set / magpie oracle!!!
Tumblr media
I spent the last few days researching and collecting items and it’s finally complete (for now)! I’m really happy with how this set turned out and I’m so excited to start using it. If anyone has tips / experience with bone casting as a form of divination, lmk!

for those who want to get into death magic/bone magic/bone throwing (if you want to use bones) but for whatever reason can't work with actual bones, replica bones are out there! and they're lovely to use.
edit: you can also use imagery of bones or make your own with clay! it's super fun and flexible.

Pre-cast cleansing and the casting itself.
I start by placing my self piece & cleansing my area. I then throw the Q & Y pieces (representing my question and the reason for the answer to my question) first then meditate on my question as a shake my bag of bones and grab a handful casting onto the mat in a clockwise motion.
The second picture is after I remove the pieces that “aren’t speaking” as I call it, such as pieces that don’t carry double sided meaning upside down, pieces that fell off the mat, etc.
I had my rabbits foot fall into the singing bowl to the left of my self piece so I put outside the bowl in the same spot to be read.
Bone throwing is personal so whether you choose to remove pieces that don’t speak or not is up to you but it just gives a more clean, straight forward read to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you look at the differences in these two pictures you will see I removed the pieces that weren’t speaking which there luckily weren’t too many of.

Hello darlings 🥰
(TW: animal bones)
I wondered if you would be interested in an informative post on properly cleaning, whitening, and preparing animal bones whether for magical tools or aesthetic purposes.
Please note that I only use bones from ethical sources, such as animals that have died naturally and were foraged, not grown for this purpose ✨

Notes from My Grimoire: Magpie Oracle
I've been working on constructing a magpie oracle for a while, and I'm finally at a point where I'd like to share a bit about the process, the items I've chosen, and how I plan to read my castings. Once I've got the hang of it for myself, I may start offering freebies to practice, then maybe add it as a new divination offering to my commissions page if it goes well. Who knows!
What is a Magpie Oracle?
A magpie oracle is a form of divination known as "claromancy," in which a collection of seemingly random items are thrown, not unlike runes, to perform a divination. Some practitioners call it "bone throwing," (or osteomancy) coming from the practice of casting actual bones. I prefer to call it magpie oracle just because magpies are amongst my favorite birds, it's one of my family nicknames, and there's no better name for a collection of pretty, shiny things.
Olivia, the Witch of Wonderlust, has a great video introduction to bone throwing. If you're interested in learning more about it or creating your own set, I highly recommend checking out her video.
This post is currently exclusive for my supporters on Ko-Fi! Supporters get early, extended, and extra content every week for as low as a one-time tip of $1.
Tbh making this was a lot of fun and I can't wait to get comfortable enough to offer readings with my new oracle...........
