“I urm. Guess I should go up first.” Reid said as the two of you approached the building. You watched him hurry through the crowds of agents and dart into the lift which closed before you had gotten halfway through the entrance hall.
By the time you came up off the lift, Reid was sitting on his desk, talking to Emily and Derek. Emily spotted you as you came in and smiled. “Hey!” She said cheerfully.
“Hey. What’s going on?” You asked. Reid glanced at you and smiled as you tried not to smile back in a way that would make Emily suspicious. You missed the look she shot Derek who wiggled his eyebrows and grinned.
“We’re talking bets on whether Reid can guess the number of people living in different cities.” Derek explained to you.
“He’s been right so far.” Emily muttered. Before they would give him another city, Hotch called you all to the round table room. As the meeting started you felt a wave of unease come over you and hurried to excuse yourself. Reid started to get up and follow you but Garcia beat him to it. She stood outside the bathroom stall that you rushed into.
“You know if you’re feeling sick you shouldn't go.” Garcia said. The door opened and you came out of the stall to find Emily and JJ had joined her.
“You’ve been sick a lot lately.” JJ said quietly. She glanced at Emily when you cleared your throat.
“Oh? Have I?” You asked. JJ reached onto the counter she was leaning on and revealed a box of tests.
“Maybe you should do one?” She asked and smiled, Emily did the same while Garcia’s eyes went wide as she started putting everything together. Reluctantly you took one of the tests and went back into the bathroom. You could hear Garcia excitedly talking about what was happening and you took a few moments to gather yourself before doing the test. You did all three that were in the box and came out.
“You knew.” Emily said and smiled.
“You did? How do you know?” Garcia asked.
“(Y/N) didn’t even bother looking at them.” JJ answered for her. She grinned and showed off the test. “So… who's the mystery man?”
“Hey guys if you’re all in there we need to get going?” Derek called. He had cracked open the door enough to call through but hadn’t come into the room. You sighed and smiled, yanking the door open, grateful for an escape. Derek looked quite surprised when you rushed past him.
JJ flagged down Hotch who stopped and spoke with her. “I’m staying here?” You asked before he could say anything.
“We can talk about you going into the field when we get back. I’d feel better if you sat this one out.” Hotch said quickly. You nodded, knowing that you wouldn’t win the argument and followed Garcia to her office.
***********
“Oh. Maybe it’s that guy. The one from…” Emily said eagerly.
“Ohh! Yeah. He liked (Y/N).” JJ grinned. Reid stood near them as they left the crime scene and frowned, following them slowly.
“Who liked (Y/N)?” He asked and tried rather hard to sound curious.
“Some guy at a store we go to for lunch.” JJ said quickly. He nodded slowly and said nothing else. Rossi grinned and hung back to talk to Hotch.
“So urm. We both know what happened right?” He asked. Hotch almost smiled though he held it back not wanting to look inappropriate to the detectives that were showing them around the crime scenes and nodded.
“Of course. I’m good at my job. I assume they’ll tell us.” He answered and hurried to the car.
“Or those two will guess it out of them.” Rossi joked as he followed. The guessing continued over the next few days until Reid had awkwardly snapped at them. Then the group was quiet and uncomfortable. Thankfully Garcia phoned not too long after that.
“Hello, hello all. In my brilliance.” Garcia started.
“Your brilliance?” You huffed. Reid smiled slightly which made Emily narrow her eyes suspiciously.
“Our brilliance. We decoded the pattern. It’s some kind of map. I’m guessing boy wonder can decode it but I have some programs working on it too.” Garcia explained. There was a series of beeping as the information was sent over to the group and it started to print out on the old printer in the corner of the room. “Nothing has come up on our end though.”
“Thanks Garcia.” Hotch said quickly.
“Oh, no problem.” You answered for her.
“Thanks (Y/N).” Reid started to say but found several people staring at him and stopped. Derek slammed his hand on the table and then pointed at Reid.
“You!” He said eagerly and grinned. Everyone frowned at him until Emily grinned too and nodded. Reid looked rather like someone who was caught and groaned.
“Oh my… you and (Y/N)?” JJ said quickly. She glanced around the room and then scoffed. “Of course, you two knew.” Everyone looked over at Hotch and Rossi who were watching the group with amusement.
“Well, when you’ve been in the game as long as we have you pick up on these kinds of things.” Rossi said, coolly.
“Game?” JJ said and scoffed with a smile.
“Which game, profiling or partners?” Emily said playfully. You were on the other end of the phone dealing with an excitable Garcia who was practically vibrating with joy. You managed to convince her to hang up the phone just as the group turned their attention to Reid.

.
Sydney heard your feet slamming on the concrete tiled floor before she saw you. Raising a hand to shield her eyes from the sun as she looked up at you, she could see that you were bursting to tell them something.
“What is it?” Tatum said as she leaned against Stu.
“The cops came! They were talking to Allen Fletcher during the last period. They think he did it. You know! The killings. Everyone is saying he did it!” You gushed out. Syd sighed and leaned back on her elbow, enjoying the sun. She didn’t want to hear about what had happened. Poor Casey and Steve. Stu and Billy glanced at each other and you saw Billy shaking his head, probably trying to dissuade Stu from making an inappropriate joke.
“Why would the cops think Allen Fletcher did it?” Tatum asked. You shrugged and glanced over at the doors where Allen was being led out by Tatum’s older brother.
“How should I know? Everyone is talking about it. I guess we’ll find out when Dewey tells you later.” You said as you glanced at Syd and Tatum then back at Allen, who glared at you when he saw you staring at him. Stu got up and leaned on your shoulder as you watched Allen. When Allen’s glare seemed to harden you jolted a little, feeling the unpleasant prickle of being watched. Stu laughed in your ear and pulled on your arm.
“Come one (Y/N). You keep staring at murderers, you're going to get yourself in some serious shit.” He said and laughed again as he sat back on the grass next to Tatum.
“Stu.” Billy said. You glanced at him. He wasn’t watching you or looking at anyone in the group. He was watching the cops putting Allen in the back of the police cruiser and fiddling with a blade of grass. His jaw tensed and untensed as he glanced at Stu again.
“What? There are plenty of movies where people get killed for looking at a guy wrong.” Stu said quickly and pulled a face at you.
“Rear window!” Randy said suddenly. He stood up and started to explain the movie's plot. You pulled a face and shook your head.
“Don’t tell me what happens.” You said quickly, cutting him off before he got too far in.
“It’s not bad.” Randy said quickly. You shook your head again and stepped closer to the group.
“No! That’s what you said last time you had a movie night and we watched that lady get stabbed so much. It was so gross. So much blood.” You complained. Tatum kicked at the air pretending to swing for Randy who held his hands up, laughing as he relented and finally stopped, sitting down again as Syd started scolding him, recalling having to have several sleepovers after you’d watched that movie with him. She’d lost a lot of sleep trying to convince you there wasn’t a shadowy figure outside.
“Well, there’s going to be a lot of blood when you get stabbed.” Stu said and grabbed you, pulling you down to sit on the grass next to him, legs over his lap. He made hand gestures as if spurts of blood were shooting everywhere. “We’re losing her!” He yelled. Several people walking past looked his way and gave him a disapproving look while Billy shook his head and rolled his eyes.
“Stop it! That’s really insensitive.” Syd scolded before Billy could speak. You looked at Stu and tried not to giggle which only made him snort out a laugh.
“Sorry, Syd.” He muttered, sounding almost sarcastic.
“I bet Allen did it.” You said when the group went quiet. “He looks like a killer.”
“Oh yeah? What do killers look like?” Billy asked and leaned over. You looked over at the police cruiser still parked in the school parking lot and shrugged.
“The eyes I guess? I don’t know! Some people just look like killers.” You said and shrugged. Billy and Stu looked at each other before laughing.
“That is so not true. Ok. It’s mean.” Syd muttered as she stood up.
“Come on (Y/N). Let’s get out of here before these two idiots rub off on you.” Tatum said as she stood up and pulled you up. Stu made a few rude jokes but stopped when Billy nudged him.
“We’ll catch up with you.” Billy called out. Tatum waved him off and hurried you along to catch up with Syd while Randy hesitated and decided he’d rather stick with your group than Billy and Stu.
**********************************
Everyone was on edge the next day. You went to the usual meeting place but found no one. Hurrying to find the group, you found some of them gathered in front of Tatum’s locker.
“You’re late… you know you may as well have not come in.” Tatum said. You frowned at her. She nodded her head up the hall to where Billy and Syd were talking.
“What happened?” You asked. Stu leaned down onto Tatum’s shoulder.
“Another attack. Syd thinks it was Billy.” Stu said quickly.
“They’re sending us home for the rest of the day.” Tatum said as she slammed her locker. You all waited for Billy and Syd to stop talking but Syd stormed off and Tatum hurried after her, leaving you alone with Stu who hurried up the corridor to talk with Billy.
“Hey!” You jumped at the sudden sound and then found yourself shoved back against the locker behind you. “Did you tell Prescott I was a killer?”
“What?” You said in surprise. Allen had come out of nowhere and grabbed at your shirt. Your back hurt from being slammed against the locker and he was staring down at you coldly, almost lifting you off the floor by your shirt.
“You heard me!” He yelled. If you hadn’t believed the rumours that he’d been the killer before. You were starting to consider them now.
“Why don’t you let (Y/N) go.” Billy said. You hadn’t noticed him or Stu hurrying back towards you. Billy stared at Allen who looked between him and Stu. Something about the way Billy looked at Allen seemed to make him incredibly uncomfortable and he let you go. Stu yanked you under his arm, shoving you between him and Billy.
“We both know you’re the killer. Even your little girlfriend thinks so.” Allen said. Billy scoffed and shook his head, stepping closer which seemed to make Allen shrink and back up a little.
“Get out of here before we have a problem.” Billy warned. His voice was low and the way he spoke made the hairs on the back of your neck prickle unpleasantly.
“Whatever you say, killer.” Allen said and stormed off. Stu turned to you and quickly looked around the corridor. A teacher stopped to check if you were ok. When you said that you were and that you were planning on going home, they hurried after Allen.
“Come on. We’ll get you home.” Stu said and glanced at Billy who was still staring the way Allen had retreated. Stu slapped at Billy’s chest with the back of his hand. “Hey! You good?” He asked in a way that made you think there was something more to what he was asking. Billy seemed to snap out of his thoughts and nodded, going quiet and Stu led the way out to the parking lot. You spotted Tatum looking for you and thanked the boys before hurrying over to tell her and Syd what had happened.
“Are you ok?” Syd asked as you crammed into Tatum’s car.
“Yeah. Just kind of creeped out. It was so weird and scary.” You said and they both hummed in agreement.
“Everything is weird and creepy right now.” Tatum explained. You looked curiously at them and Syd started to explain what she’d gone through the night before. By the time she had finished, Tatum pulled up outside your house and looked over at you. “You sure you want to go home? I bet you’d be able to stay at mine with me and Syd!”
“Nah. I’ll be ok. It’s not like I’m home alone. Besides, if it gets weirder I’ll call.” You promised. They waved as you got out and hurried down your driveway and let yourself into your house. As soon as you went inside you could hear your parents arguing. You snuck past them to your room, not wanting to be forced into taking sides again. They’d been arguing for weeks. Eventually, the arguing stopped. It was starting to get dark. You’d been watching a portable TV set that you’d saved up and got from Randy at the video store. There was the distinct sound of someone leaving, the door slamming and one of the cars pulling away. Going to see what had happened you walked out of your bedroom to find the living room and kitchen empty.
“They really left me alone! After everything that happened!” You complained. Going to grab the phone you paused as it rang suddenly. There was a thump at the side of the house and you were certain that you heard one of the windows sliding open. Grabbing at a metal candle stick that sat on the coffee table in the middle of your living room, you ignored the phone and slowly walked through the house. The bathroom, your bedroom and the spare room all had the windows shut and locked. Continuing to your parent's room, the last room left, you slowly opened the door. The window was wide open. Flicking on the light you looked around. The bedclothes swayed in the breeze that came through the window making you jump. The door to the closet in the corner of the room was cracked a little while the large closet with a sliding door built into the wall on the other side was closed all the way. You could see clothes strewn on the floor as if someone had left in a hurry. Slowly getting close to the window you leaned over and tried to see if there was any disturbance to the closer below. The door in the corner creaked and you turned quickly, almost dropping the candlestick. Turning while looking out the window, your head sticking past the windowsill allowed you to see a large boot print on the white trim of the window. In a panic you slammed the window shut and hurried out of the room, rushing to the phone. Before you could pick it up it started ringing. Your heart was pounding. It was pounding so hard that your head began to hurt. As soon as it stopped ringing you picked it up but before you could dial a number it rang again. Slamming it back into the cradle you panicked, hearing the sound of the sliding doors of the second closet clearly enough that fear made your mouth water and your body start to sweat. You spotted a tin of loose change on the side table by the front door and grabbed it. Yanking the door open you ran. Despite ragged breath and your body screaming at you to slow down you didn’t stop until you reached the nearest pay phone. Most of the money in the tin, spilled on the floor as your shaking hands tried to scoop it out and show it into the coin slot on the pay phone. The candlestick was still in your clammy hands as you waited for someone to pick it up.
“Hey?” Tatum said as she picked up the phone. Why had you phoned her and not the police? You thought to yourself.
“Killer! My house! Help!” You wheezed out. Tatum screamed out to her brother and he quickly took the phone. You could hear the fumbling.
“You’re sure?” He asked. You could hear Tatum filling him in and yelling at him for not sending help right away even though he’d taken the phone from her.
“Yes. Please help.” You said quietly. Dewey handed the phone back to Tatum who talked to you while Dewey spoke quickly in the background.
“Ok. There are cops on the way! Dewey’s just left. Stay on the phone with me ok?” Tatum asked. Something in the distance caught your eye and you squished yourself down as small as the phone cord on the payphone would let you.
“I’m really scared.” You admitted quietly. She continued talking to you until Dewey pulled up at the phone booth and hurried you to his car. He drove you the rest of the way up to your house where you found a huge number of police hurrying around. One of them was holding a mask that looked familiar.
“(Y/N)?” One of them asked the boss you thought from the way Dewey straightened up and tried to look serious. You nodded. “We talked to your dad and he said that this might be yours. Is it?” He held up the mask and you swallowed. It was the same kind of mask Syd had described.
“No sir.” You answered quietly. He looked at you for a moment and then nodded as if he believed you.
“We’re going to have to look around a little more. You might want to find somewhere else to stay for the night.” He said before walking off. Tatum pulled up at that exact moment with Syd flinging herself out of the car and hurting over to you.
“Are you ok?” You both asked as they hugged you.
“I’m ok.” You said quietly.
“Tatum. Take (Y/N) back home with you. I’ll try and find her parents.” Dewey said quietly. Syd sat in the back with you as Tatum drove home. You slowly filled them in on what happened.
“Fuck. That must have been so scary!” Tatum gasped out.
“We’re glad you’re ok.” Syd said and smiled at you. You tried to smile back but found it rather hard. You were grateful to slump down on Tatum’s spare bed. You were asleep fairly quickly. Syd untied your shoes and moved you fully onto the bed while Tatum found you a blanket. They stayed up most of the night talking about what was happening.
You went home the next day. Your dad showed up, complaining about the cops being all over his house. He didn’t bother telling you that he and your mum had broken up that same night until you got home and asked him where she was.
Deciding that it was all too much you went to your room. For a few weeks, nothing terribly eventful happened. There were a few more killings. Your mum moved out for good and you started to think you were going crazy. There was a smell in your room that was familiar but didn’t belong in your room. Almost like a perfume or a cologne that you couldn’t place. Furthermore, things seemed to move around your room, clothes went missing and sometimes you couldn’t remember if you’d left your window open or shut it. You only opened it during the day because of the heat. Dewey said it was normal, due to your hypervigilance that you were getting mixed up. You weren’t so sure. At one point during the night, you’d rolled over and thought you’d caught sight of someone kneeling at the side of your bed watching you sleep. You had hurried to turn your bedside light on but found that there was no one there and decided it was probably just the position of your chair in the corner of the room.
“I just feel super jumpy.” You explained to Syd and Tatum. You were gathered in the new section of the video store.
“I am too. You’re going to be.” Syd comforted while Tatum nodded and agreed. You saw Syd glance across the store and saw Stu and Billy looking over at you both.
“You still think it could be him, Syd?” Tatum asked. She shrugged and continued talking. You were distracted by the unpleasant prickling feeling of being watched. Turning round the corner to the next aisle you found Allen at the other end. You hurried back to join the girls and insisted that you leave.
********************************
Allen started to follow the three of you when Billy grabbed his shoulder. “Where do you think you’re going?”
“Why? Couldn’t get your fix the other day? Can't stand the competition?” Allen asked smugly. Billy stared at him in a way that made Allen shift nervously and back up, only to find Stu trapping him between the two of them and a row of shelves on either side.
“Watch your mouth.” Billy said slowly.
“Scared they’ll know what you are? That I’ll blow your cover?” Allen snapped and smiled. Billy laughed a little, Stu mimicked the sound as if echoing Billy.
“No. Just annoyed that you think you can take what’s mine.” Billy said coldly. He made Allen jerk back and slammed his back into Stu’s chest, making Stu grunt and complain, as Billy’s hand dug into Allen’s pocket. He pulled out a lump of fabric. When the last few customers knew them headed to the till Billy dangled the fabric from his fingers. A pair of your underwear. “You want to watch from a distance, take pictures from the window, that's fine. But you don’t come inside. We are the only ones that go inside.”
“You can’t stop me. I have pictures of you creeping around (Y/N)’s room that I know the cops would like.” Allen said confidently.
“Oh yeah, Fletcher! We have pictures too.” Stu said. He pulled a small polaroid from his back pocket and held it over Allen’s shoulder so that all three of them could see it.
“I think the cops would be more interested in knowing why you have a shed with that big padlock on it. Why would you need a bathroom and a bed with ropes and handcuffs in a shed?” Billy asked and glared at Allen who swallowed nervously.
“You just want to play with (Y/N). To snuff her out. I want to keep her forever!” Allen whispered. Stu let out a loud laugh and Billy showed the underwear in his pocket.
“Stay away or we snitch on your love nest in the woods.” Billy warned. He and Stu left Allen nervously standing in the horror section as they left.
“You don’t think he’ll say anything do you?” Stu asked Billy as they headed out into the street. After the murder at the school, cops were everywhere. He tried not to think about it as he paused and turned to Stu. “I mean… he said he has pictures of you. Is it really worth it? Changing your plan to go after (Y/N). We tried once already and she got away. Why don’t we go back to the original plan?”
“Tatum said that (Y/N)’s parents are both away until Monday. They’re splitting up over some woman. She’s spending the weekend with Tatum. So we have tonight to deal with (Y/N). You just have to keep Tatum distracted until we can deal with Syd.” Billy said quietly as he looked around to make sure that no one heard him. Stu looked uncertain for a moment and then nodded.
“Sure. Sounds like a plan.” Stu said and grinned.
They made new plans and managed to sneak up to your house without being spotted. Your parents were the only ones home and they were arguing loudly enough that Billy was able to use one of the knives they had with them to loosen the lock on your bedroom window. He opened it just a crack so he could let himself in later. Trying to loosen the lock in the dark had proven frustratingly difficult. They found a place to stow some supplies and then headed down to Billy’s car. The rest of the day passed by slowly. It made Billy irritable.
“Why don’t we try and find those pictures Fletcher said he had?” Stu offered. Billy sighed and then shrugged.
“I guess we don’t have anything to do until (Y/N)’s parents leave.” He muttered. The two of them headed to Allen’s house and parked in an off-road. They slowly picked their way down a dirt path through woods that backed up onto the shed they’d found days before. It was locked with a padlock and a short walk from Allen’s house. They stopped before they got too close and tried to see if there was anyone home. An older lady was cooking in the kitchen. She passed by the window every now and then. They moved closer and rounded the corner of the house. A man, who looked a couple of years older than her, was watching tv in a living room that they passed. The window to a bedroom that they assumed was Allen’s was shut and they couldn’t get it open. But there was a window open next to it. It led to a bathroom making it difficult to quietly climb in.
“Ok. We get into the room, find the pictures and then take the ones with me in them. We should be able to get out through the window in there. As long as we don’t make any noise we should be fine.” Billy muttered quietly as Stu managed to drop down through the window after him.
*******************
You found it hard to get to sleep at first. You’d checked the house several times to see if it was still locked up. Your dad had left to spend the night with his new girlfriend. Your mum had gone out of town that morning. You’d finally had enough of them fighting with each other and yelled at them for leaving you alone when someone had tried to break into your house weeks before. They’d only coughed up another twenty in cash and told you to be careful.
There was a high squeaking noise that woke you. It sounded like one of the windows was opening. You froze in your bed and listened carefully, hoping that it was nothing. But there was more movement and you got up. Carefully you opened your door and stepped out to the corridor. You crept into the living room and hopped to make it to the kitchen where the phone was hung in the cradle on the wall. There was the distinct sound of footsteps which made you panic and look around in the dark, trying to see where it was coming from. You screamed when a figure lurched out of the dark of the kitchen and charged at you. Magangind to grab an armchair and fling it in the way you bought yourself enough time to run back to your room and slam the door shut. You pressed your back against it as you reached for the light switch. Turning when the door started to rattle you didn’t see Billy pulling the door open.
Billy glanced back at Stu who lifted his mask off and looked at Billy who motioned for him to stay quiet. “Go scare him off.” Billy whispered. He yanked the Ghostface mask off and tossed it along with the robes to Stu who hurried to hide them and ran round to the kitchen window.
“Hey!” Billy whispered. You turned and looked at him with a fear in your eyes that sent a sick thrill through Billy. He had to remind himself to look nervous.
“W-what are you doing here?” You asked. Billy paused for just a moment and his face darkened and then he stepped closer and smiled a little.
“Stu and I were getting some cheap beers at the corner store down the road. We heard a scream and remembered that Tatum said you were out here alone tonight. Luckily we did. We almost went straight home, thought it was an animal or something.” As Billy spoke he leaned his weight on the door to help keep it from opening. There was a loud crash and a scuffling.
“Where’s Stu?” You asked suddenly. Billy looked down at you and looked at the window.
“He urm. Went to get help.” Billy said stiffly. The house went quiet again and you looked out the window. He glanced at it and moved away from you.
“I’ll go and see if the coast is clear.” Billy offered and moved you away from the door. You stared at him, terrified that whoever had run at you would knock down Billy and get you. He stepped out into the hall and looked around. He couldn't see anyone but it was quiet and no one else had gotten into the room with you so he assumed everything was fine.
“They’ve gone. Must have heard me saying that Stu went for help and got scared.” Billy shut the door behind him and you looked relieved. He walked around you in a circle, watching you closely. You seemed to be entirely relaxed even being alone with him. It was strange, the way that you had no problem being near him but Syd’s skin would crawl. She didn’t want to be anywhere near him. It fascinated him. You really had no idea about what he wanted to do to you. He reached down to the knife holstered to his leg and went to pull it out when you suddenly ran at him. He panicked for a moment until he felt your arms crush around him tightly as you hugged him, face pressed against his shoulder. He inhaled your soft smell. The urge to sink the blade in his hand into your side screamed through his head. But you made pathetic soft noises and he found himself letting the knife drop to the floor with two quiet thunks as the blade and then the handle hit the floor. His arms moved around you, his hand resting at the back of your neck as you leaned in more. He stared across the room, seeing himself in a small mirror on your bedside table. Staring at himself he realised he couldn’t do it. He couldn’t kill you. At least not right now. You needed him. That meant that you would leave him. He liked the idea of that. You. Not being able to leave.
“Billy? You get it… done?” Stu said as he hurried in. Billy squeezed you tighter so you wouldn’t turn and see Stu in his Ghostface costume. Stu pulled his mask off and gave Billy a look.
“Did you find that help we needed?” Billy asked. Stu stared at him for a moment and sighed.
“I couldn’t get anyone to help us but I… chased off whoever broke in. I’ll go and check if the phones working now.” Stu said slowly. Billy raised his eyebrows and gave a small nod. Stu hurried out and Billy loosened his grip. You stepped back and sighed. Then you turned away and dropped onto your bed. He took the opportunity to grab at the knife on the floor and hide it in the holster. He was going to sit and talk to you but Stu shouted for help. Billy said to stay where you were but there was such a loud commotion outside that you couldn’t help but go and see what was happening. Maybe you could help if the attacker came back. Maybe you could make a break for it. You stopped as you watched Billy and Stu trying to shove Allen Fletcher into the boot of Billy’s car.
“What the fuck!” You gasped. They both turned. Billy looked annoyed while Stu looked surprised but tried to play it off. You glanced down at Billy’s leg. His trousers had ridden up a little and caught on his boot. You could see the knife strapped to his leg. Stu moved his left leg so you couldn’t see it. But that drew your attention to the ghost face masks on the floor next to the car.
“No.” Billy said firmly as you panicked and then bolted. You could hear him running after you as you darted into the dark woods. It was darker when you got further in and you had to slow down a little to find your way. Even though you knew the woods well enough you found it hard without any landmarks being visible. Billy suddenly lurched out of the dark, knocking you down. Your head smacked against a tree as you both went down. Your vision swam. You lost your bearings, and falling to the floor felt almost as if you were rolling. Then Billy was on top of you, his weight holding you down as he brandished the knife in his hand. Realising you couldn’t get away again you froze up.
Billy tutted and moved your head inspecting the wound on it. “Look what you did. Now you’re hurt. That’s why you shouldn’t run away.” His voice became deeper as he looked down at you, even in the dim light you could see the cold look in his eyes. “You get hurt when you try and leave me.”
“You. You killed Allen.” You said quietly. Billy looked at you as if he found it rather funny that you were so scared.
“No. We just… helped him decide to leave you alone.” Billy said slowly. You stared up at him helplessly as your head burned with pain. You yelped when he was suddenly up on his feet and started dragging you along after him, his hand twisted in your shirt. Your feet skidded along the dirt as he pulled you along. Stu joined the two of you, pulling something behind him, Allan you assumed. They muttered to each other, stopping at a shed. He shoved you towards Stu who kept a hold of you with one arm. Billy fumbled around in the grass around the shed until he found a rock and broke the lock off. He yanked the door open and shoved Allen inside. He grunted and moved around as Billy found the light and pulled the cord. You took in the room. There was a small sink and camping stove on a table. A bed in the corner and in the middle of the room was a series of chains sunk into the concrete floor. You looked up at Stu with panic and found that he was watching Billy intently.
“You have… a creepy dungeon?” You asked quietly. You honestly didn’t want an answer but really hadn’t been able to stop yourself from talking.
“No! No. He had a creepy dungeon. This is where you were going to be kept like a dog. I saved you!” Billy said. His voice was drawn out, gravelled and unkind. It made you shiver unpleasantly. Allen started to say something and Billy’s face stiffened. You jumped as he turned suddenly and crossed the room with just a few strides. He stabbed Allen several times in the stomach and then sighed and turned back to you. He sighed as if Allen speaking up had frustrated him and jabbed the knife in the air towards you. “I saved you and now you owe me (Y/N). You’re going to do what I want from now on. Understand?” He walked closer and closer until he was close enough that you had to flinch backwards towards Stu to avoid the tip of the knife in Billy’s hand from picking your skin. You nodded and Billy’s eyes flashed with an angry look.
“Y-Yes. I understand.” You said quietly. He smiled at that and nodded. Then he looked at Stu who giggled in a way that made you even more uncomfortable. “Happy? Now we can finish our plans.”

Request: Anonymous asked: "If anyone asks where I am, I've left the country!" Rhaenyra Targaryen with female reader
Rhaenyra closed her eyes, enjoying the breeze that filled the room. She could still feel the prickle of sweat on her skin and the cool air eased her discomfort. The baby in her arms squirmed with determination.
“Your father shall be here soon to greet you.” She muttered to the boy who gasped and gurgled in her arms. “He shall be upset that you came so soon. He was not here…” In truth, Rhaenyra was grateful that Daemon had taken the children to Driftmark. Bringing forth a child was hard enough without the pack of children that would demand to meet their siblings. Though they would return soon. It was later that afternoon that Daemon arrived. He hurried into the room with a contained exhilaration that threatened to burst out of him with each bounding step as if he were a father for the first time.
“The children?” Rhaenyra asked.
“There has been some trouble in Kingslanding so they have decided to stay with Rhaenys for a few days while Corlys travels to sit on the king's council.” Daemon explained. Rhaenyra nodded and turned her attention to the baby as Daemon explained that the boys would return the next evening and the girls a few days after. Damon, having fussed over the baby and Rhaenyra for a good while, turned his attention to a serving girl to make demands for food to be brought among other things. Rhaenyra had been about to scold him as she wished to rest longer but both were interrupted by the door to the private rooms slamming open.
The baby began sobbing immediately at the sound while you swept into the rooms and gave the baby a dissatisfied look. “Which one is this?” You asked, having interrupted yourself and what you’d been saying when you burst in.
“We haven’t named him yet seeing as he has not long been born.” Rhaenyra said in a scolding, motherly tone.
“Another one? Did you not just have one in the spring?” You asked and she glared at you. Waving a hand you tutted as if it didn’t matter. “If anyone asks where I am, I've left the country!"
You turned to give some short instructions to a nervous young woman who stood at the side of Rhaenyra’s seat. She stayed still, glancing around the room as if she was unsure what to do until Rhaenyra nodded and she scurried away looking rather grateful at being able to leave.
“Who would be asking after you and why have you come here, if you’re fleeing the country?” She asked and gave you a tired look. Daemon perched himself on the arm of the lounge chair that Rhaenyra was resting on, a grape rolling between his fingers as he watched you carefully.
“Must we talk of such dreadful things now? Where are my nieces and nephews?” You said quickly and grinned until Daemon scoffed and rolled his eyes.
“They’re not here so there is no hiding with them.” He said firmly as a group of servants hurried in with another tray of fresh foods, jugs of sweet wine and empty glass goblets. It was set on a table beside Rhaenyra who ignored it in favour of the baby in her arms who made several blubbering noises as she cooed over him. You made yourself comfortable in one of the chairs you knew Daemon preferred, picked at the food on the tray and thought over how best to answer as you kicked your feet up on a table nearby.
“I upset Otto.” You answered finally. Rhaenyra scoffed at that and shook her head, smiling down at the baby quickly as her face darkened at your comment.
“Is that not the reason you stayed behind at the keep?” Daemon jested as he helped himself to a goblet of wine.
“They kept making demands of me so I left.” You muttered and accepted a drink from Daemon who glanced at Rhaenyra. They shared a look, one of those looks where they both knew something about you that you were avoiding to address and they were silently talking about you. Having enough you thumped your foot on the table, making the baby jump, causing Rhaenyra to give you a withering look. Anyone other than you might baulk at the coldness on her face, perhaps even Daemon. But not you.
“This does not perhaps have anything to do with the wedding?” She said sharply and raised her eyebrows.
“There wasn’t really a wedding.” You muttered and she rolled her eyes, shifting in her seat as she moved the baby to rest on her other arm.
“There was a royal wedding. We were informed.” She replied.
“Ah. But you weren’t invited. Such a shame. It was most amusing.” You said and grinned. Daemon chuckled to himself until Rhaenyra glared at him. “Alicent’s face when her one-eyed giant pulled that veil back only to find my serving girl.”
“I assume this is about you then.” Rhaenyra gestured to a roll of paper that rested on the end of the seat next to her. You sighed, moving around so you could grab at it without getting up and unrolled it. It was some sort of summons and something about the offending of House Hightower.
“Serves them right.” You muttered quietly.
“(Y/N)!” Rhaenyra started and then winced. A flurry of her maids rushed to her and you found yourself shooed out of the room. Shortly after someone found you as you walked the halls of Dragonstone and led you to your rooms. You weren’t summoned until late morning the next day.
“Aunt (Y/N)!”
“Hello, Joff.” You said as the boy darted to you. You heaved him up into your arms and chuckled as he clung to you.
“Did you bring your dragon?” He asked and looked worried for a moment that you hadn’t. They were rather fond of each other. It had always struck you that they might bond after you passed as other dragons had or perhaps Joff might take one of the dragons' eggs.
“Of course. She is out with Caraxes. You know how she loves to wade in the water.” You muttered and smiled when she grinned. Luke shuffled closer and tucked himself under your other arm as you balanced Joff on one hip. He chatted happily the rest of the way to the hall where you were supposed to be heading for breakfast. When you got there Jace was already sitting at the table, chatting with Daemon.
“Where’s Nyra?” You asked and Daemon sighed.
“Resting.” Daemon spoke quickly and picked at his food. You had a sinking feeling as the boys abandoned you for their plates which were quickly ladened with food. “She wants to see you when you’ve eaten.”
Jace gave you a mingled look. As if he wanted to scold you but also applaud you at the same time and found himself very torn. You ate slowly and enjoyed the hubbub of the boys shouting across the table to each other. When you were done Joff took your hand and asked if, when you were done with Rhaenyra, you would stay to pick out a dragon egg for the new baby. You promised that you would and he left you outside Rhaenyra’s door informing you that Daemon told them not to disturb her until that afternoon.
You entered more carefully this time. She looked at you and sighed. “You’re going to have to get married.”
“Good morning Nyra. How lovely it is to be here with my family on this lovely day.” You said sarcastically as you gestured to the window. “I’m not getting married.”
“I have a letter here, saying that you return or they tell everyone you’re betrothed. They want to say Daemon stole you, and that is what happened with the wedding.” She wafted the paper in the air so it crackled gently and raised her eyebrows at you when she got nothing but a shrug in response.
“Wouldn’t be the most shocking thing he’s ever done at a wedding.” You said and grinned at her. She winced as she stood up and walked towards you.
“What about a nice Stark boy? There’s that one that sounds promising… I forget his name. You would not even have to see him. You are heir after Jace until my others come of age…” Rhaenyra trailed off as the baby started to cry in its bassinet across the room and you sighed.
“If you had not left us alone with them… I would not have had to run away.” You scolded and let out a slither of the resentment you felt. She looked at your hand where you fiddled with the small ring gifted to you by your father.
“Now he is alone. With them.” She bit back just the same. You stared at each other as she put a comforting hand gently on the child.
When she looked up from the baby you had gone and Daemon was lingering in the doorway.
“(Y/N) is right.” He said carefully. She shook her head. She did not like when you were right and there was little anyone could do to have her admit it even if you were. They sat together, Daemon taking the baby and smiling down at him. It was much later in the afternoon when you appeared again. You let yourself into the rooms followed by Joff and Luke who helped you carry a brazier that was steaming and glowing slightly.
“We chose an egg.” Luke said and smiled as they set it down. Rhaenyra got up, ruffling Luke’s hair who gazed up at her adoringly as she gently squeezed Joff’s cheek, her hand being childishly batted away with a small flapping hand and a giggle as she passed them to reach the lid. She smiled when she saw the egg.
“A fine choice.” She said as the two boys looked at her with shining, expectant eyes. They let out a chorus of pleased shouts and excited babbling as if they’d been nervous they had chosen wrong. It made you chuckle. You wondered if Rhaenyra had felt the same when she had chosen your egg.
“Mother?” Luke said as a moment of sadness flickered over Rhaenyra’s face.
“Your grandsire grows more ill. We shall be returning to Kingslanding.” She said calmly. Daemon glanced at you when you went to make a comment. His look was hard and warning so you quickly stared down at the dragon egg as if you had never seen one before.
“W-what about Baela and Rhaena?” Luke asked. Rhaenyra smiled.
“Baela prefers Driftmark so I imagine she shall want to stay with her grandmother. But that will be up to them.” Rhaenyra said as she went to sit back down. The children followed her like chicks following a hen. After looking at the baby for a while the boys got bored and went to find the rest of their siblings, leaving you alone.
“So you plan to go back?” You asked awkwardly.
“We plan to go back. Just because you left after me does not mean we didn’t both leave.” She said stiffly and gave you a firm look. You glanced at Daemon but found no help from him in easing the tension between the two of you.
“Very well we go home. Now if you don’t mind…” You gestured towards the window where a Driftmark ship could be seen and specks of boys clad in red and black were hurtling along the edge of the water towards it, bouncing about and far-off shouts could be heard on the air. Seeing your dragon slowly plodding along after a smaller dot in the distance, you knew Joff had found her, she was far too fond of the boy and on occasion had to be bribed to let him out from under her wings. You started to leave when Rhaenyra hesitantly continued.
“We have to be united on this (Y/N).” Rhaenyra said as if she wasn't sure you would agree with her. You stopped in your tracks, having headed towards the door and turned back. The gaze that you shared was fraught with years of tension, arguments and joys as well as shared sufferings. She had always been on your side. Perhaps now, you were realising, you hadn’t always been on hers. Rhaenys would call it bickering, family bickering and it was good to get it all out. But perhaps it had been left out in the open too long and now Rhaenyra doubted your relationship.
“We can be united if you see her for what she is.” You said quietly. Rhaenyra’s jaw clenched. How many times had the two of you argued about Alicent? How many times had you accused her of waiting for Alicent to change back to what she had been in her younger years? Too many for either to count. It was still a sore wound.
“Then as one house and home, we shall return.” Rhaenyra said rather seriously, making her sound overly dramatic. You smiled and nodded before leaving and rushing down to the docks and greeting your nieces.

Peter smiled at you as he stepped closer. You stepped back and moved to the side, forcing him to reposition but now you had the upper hand. He smiled again as if you’d amused him.
“You’re playing a game.” He muttered and you raised your eyebrows.
“I thought we were playing together.” You shoved him. The floor was unlevel and despite his strength and werewolf abilities you managed to have him stumbling backwards. He hit the wall hard and the air knocked out of his lungs as you kissed him. He pulled away for a moment with a helpless gasp before you pulled him back in. You could feel the pinch of his claws as they broke through your clothes and dug gently into your skin. Your leg slid between his and yanked hard. He fell sideways away from the wall and you straddled him. Pulling your shirt off you grinned down at him and started to lean down to kiss him when you spotted Stiles, Scott and Lydia in the doorway of Derek’s loft. The boys both looked horrified while Lydia looked as if she had expected to walk in on the two of you sooner.
“AHhhhaaahhhh!” Stiles said as he gestured at you both.
"Oh, no. I’m a single adult, and I kissed another single adult. What’s gonna happen?" Peter muttered from underneath you. Stiles yelled again when Peter leaned up to kiss your neck.
“Ok. It was obvious that you two were going to do this at some point but can you finish once we’re gone?” Lydia asked sarcastically and headed into the building to find what Derek had sent them for. She glanced at the boys in the doorway and rolled her eyes.
“Come right on in. It wasn’t like we were busy.” You said as Peter stood up. He held you as he stood and then let you drop down onto your feet.
“Well, we didn’t expect to walk in on this so we’re all… surprised.” Stiles grumbled as he tugged Scott’s arm to pull him over to Lydia. Peter tossed you your shirt when it became obvious that they didn’t plan to leave.

Eric looked out the window and shifted nervously. “Your wolf friend isn’t here yet.” Eric complained. You looked up from the magazine you’d been flipping through. Eric was pacing back and forth between glances out the window.
"He probably got held up somewhere. I'm sure I'll be fine until he comes." You said and tried to give Eric an encouraging smile. He stared you down for a moment, still and unmoving before you found your voice and it broke him out of his thoughts. "You could just spend the night with me and see what happens." You added. You'd been joking but he looked at you for a moment before nodding.
"It would probably be better that I do." He said and looked at you before grinning. "You would have to invite me in though."
"You can come in." You said calmly. He moved forward at a rapid speed that was clearly meant to spook you. Holding your ground you stared up at him and didn't flinch. However, your heartbeat betrayed you because it pounded so hard that it rang in your ears. It made him chuckle as he flashed his fangs, still getting no other rise out of you. He looked amused for a moment before allowing a little space between the two of you. He watched you with amusement as you turned away and led him further into your house. You could feel his eyes on you as you made your way to your living room. You knew that you’d caught his eye and had his focus for a long while now. There was something unnervingly intimate about having him in your home. Turning when you felt the pressure of his presence build you jumped. He was much closer than you thought he would be and he gave a wicked grin. You stared at him for a moment and swallowed your nerves, stepping closer. He raised his eyebrows but stayed where he was. No, or never you thought to yourself. Leaning up you moved your hands to his shoulders. He moved in closer and let you kiss him before responding roughly. His fingers dug into your sides as they slid down your body, pulling at your clothes as he manoeuvred you to your sofa. As his fangs left a tingling trail of goosebumps down your neck you found yourself rather grateful that your werewolf friend hadn’t shown up.

Request: Anonymous asked: "I ran too fast and now I can’t breathe. It’s the first time I’ve exercised in four years." Ageon Targaryen and Fem!Reader please.
Shuffling your feet you sighed and wished for something interesting to happen. You were appreciative that you were one of the queen's favourites and that, for today, delivering a carriage full of supplies would be the hardest job you had that day, perhaps for the week. It didn’t make the waiting around any less boring though. You turned curiously as the door to the sept opened.
It was the smaller door built into the giant doors at the front of the sept. It was disguised with ornate woodwork so that unless you inspected it closely you wouldn’t be able to tell that it was there.
“(Y/N).” Aemond said as he came into view. He was followed by the twins Erryk and Arryk. Aemond said your name as if he had hoped to find someone else.
“Aemond.” You smiled cheerfully and you could see the irritation at your cheerful disposition clear on his face. It did bring a spark of dreadful joy to rile him up. Though he never said anything, only giving you a distasteful look as if your bubbling character exhausted him beyond reason. You always got the sense that after spending any length of time with you the prince took a long lay down afterwards to recover.
“The royal carriage outside. That would be yours?” He asked in the same tone. He came across as rather bored and as if he would rather be anywhere else but he was also stern and impatient, his foot tapping as he waited for your reply.
“It is. Your queen mother has asked me to take this to the Septas to be given out to the needy.” You held up your large woven basket that hung from one arm and several more that were lined up on the worn wooden benches near the front of the sept. It was lined with green cloth and filled with food left over from a feast that had been thrown by King Viserys in Princess Rhaenyra’s honour two days prior.
“And you are alone?” He pressed. His foot tapping out an echoed song on the cold stone floor, his fingers matched the sound as they tapped silently on the hilt of the sword on his waist.
“Yes. That is why I was sent with the royal carriage your mother prefers.” You said as if that answer was obvious. You turned your attention away from the three men and towards the two septas that hurried towards you. The youngest gave you an appropriate greeting for your rank while the elder lady bowed her head quickly, thanked you and assured you the queen's gift would be greatly appreciated. There was a loud rustling and scuffling which drew all your attention towards a stone table with candles set heavily into the floor towards the back corner of the room. The younger septa, newly joined from a sept outside the city and not as used to the chaos of the royal house as the elder, jumped as Aegon leapt up from the shadows under the table. He darted off with a determination, not unlike the rat cats from the Red Keep, when the cook would chase them from the kitchen when she received dairy goods. While the twins chased him Aemond followed calmly. He stopped to bow to the three of you before following. There was peace again as the door closed, promptly broken by Aemond’s barked cry of “BROTHER!”
Once you had completed your task for the queen, you took the time to light a candle and knelt to pray. You lit another candle for the queen as well. It seemed the right thing to do when she hadn’t been able to make the trip to the sept as she wished. Once you were done you dusted yourself off and headed to the carriage.
The silver carriage you had been allowed to take today was the queen’s personal carriage, not the usual one that you and her ladies or the ladies that waited on Princess Helena would ride in. It was pleasantly upholstered and the wheels rolled smoothly even over the roads that had become uneven during the weather over the last few months.
“Are you ready to return home, my lady?” One of the queen's guards who travelled with the carriage asked. You nodded as he opened the door and helped you up the wooden steps into the carriage.
“Yes. That is all the queen wished for us to do today.” You said and smiled at him.
All of a sudden something large struck your side and you yelped as you plummeted painfully into the carriage and something large, heavy and smelling of stale alcohol landed on you.
“Unhand me!” Aegon snapped at the guard who was quick to follow your fall into the carriage and jump to your aid realising that the attacker was in fact Aegon and finding himself unsure if he should let him loose or not. “I said unhand me!”
“Aegon!” You snapped once the poor guard, pail-faced and clearly panicked, had helped you to one of the seats, seeming to decide it was best to let the flailing dragon go rather than try to heave him out of the carriage. Ageon had already taken up one of the bench seats and did not look willing to move again, so you sat on the other. “You’ve ruined my dress!” You complained as you saw the mud and dirt he’d gotten all over your clothes. Ageon did not respond, instead, he gasped a few times and waved a hand at the guard, who was still lingering in the doorway of the carriage, indicating that he would like to be taken home. You glared at him, fixing him with as hard a look as you could manage.
"I ran too fast and now I can’t breathe. It’s the first time I’ve exercised in four years." He gasped out after a long pause. You tried not to giggle but the sound broke out on its own and made him smile as you put a hand up to your mouth as if to try and catch the sound.
“Why are you running from Aemond?” You asked to distract from your amusement and he sighed.
“Because he’s a frightful bore and I wanted to have some fun.” Aegon sprawled out across the seat he was occupying and closed his eyes.
“You shouldn’t hide in the sept. It's rude. Not to mention you always hide there so you're easier to find.” You said quickly. He opened one eye and groaned a little.
“Are you going to scold me all the way back to the keep?” He asked lazily. You sighed and leaned into the comfortable seat a little more.
“I would much rather not have to talk to you at all.” You said quickly. He chuckled and shrugged.
“Very well.” He spoke with sharp amusement that made you frown.
“I mean that.” You said stubbornly. He smiled again and basked in the sun that burst through the carriage windows as the long stretch of road opened up and the carriage turned down the road that exited the main heart of the city and headed to the front courtyard of the keep.
“And I agreed.” He was starting to smile, amusement playing at the corner of his mouth as you fidgeted in your seat, running your tongue over your front teeth and smacking your lips quietly with frustration. “But you do insist on it ever so much.” He said after a pause.
“Because you do not speak as if you believe me.” You answered matter of factly. He nodded and made a noise as if he agreed.
“It is true I do speak in such a manner. Mostly because I don’t believe you. You like me more than my brother at least.” He said softly and grinned as he looked over at you, his feet kicked up against the wall of the carriage at the end of the seat, crossed over each other at the ankle as his hands rested on his chest.
“Not true at all. I find Daeron much more enjoyable to spend time with than you.” Your answer made him laugh.
“Everyone likes him. But you like me more than Aemond.” He sat up and leaned towards you as the carriage came to a stop. The small space seemed to become smaller still under his gaze, watching you as if he wanted you to confess that he was right but the door was yanked open and Aemond appeared as he stepped into the light that burst through the opening, yanking Aegon out of his seat and through the carriage door out of sight. Sir Cole stepped into view shortly after and gently helped you from the carriage.
“Thank you for finding him.” A stiff voice came from behind you. Turning you found Otto Hightower over seeing Aegon being swept out of sight into the depths of the keep.
“Well, really he found me.” You confessed and smiled. Your smile fell awkwardly when Otto’s face remained stern.
“The queen will see you in her chambers for an update on your trip to the Sept.” Otto said and nodded to Cole. Though he was gentle as he guided you inside, Sir Cole’s grip on your arm was unyielding and you had the good sense to suspect that Aegon had gotten you into some kind of trouble.

“All I’m saying is that you have to know.” Buck said as he hopped down out of the firetruck. Hen rolled her eyes as she headed towards the other paramedic to offer her help.
“You know it’s a genuine thing. People being pregnant and not knowing. Maddie said she saw a few back when she was a nurse.” Chimney chimed in. Buck frowned and shrugged. Hen and Chimney shared a look of amusement.
“Hey.” Athena said to Bobby as they trailed after him.
“Am I glad to get out of that truck.” Bobby muttered with amusement. She chuckled and glanced back at the 118.
“Still talking about that last call?” She asked and he nodded. She sighed and gestured to the building. “Well, you might get another one like it. The building collapsed on the south side, there was gas work going on in the building next door. It’s a prenatal clinic. Some people have managed to get themselves out but there are about ten people still inside, two, maybe three upstairs but they aren’t sure.”
“Ok.” Bobby said firmly and stopped walking in step with her so the team could gather around him. They separated as Bobby directed them in different directions. Eddie led the way inside while Buck followed behind. Part of the building had been on fire. Buck could still feel the heat as the one fifteen put out the last of the fire. He turned to Eddie who gestured at the first room, they were quick to clear it and finding no survivors in need of rescuing they hurried to the next room. Hen and Chimney passed them when someone called for a paramedic over the radio. Buck followed after them and stopped as he saw who Hen was stooped over.
“(Y/N)?” Buck said quietly. Hen checked your pulse while Chimney cleared the small amount of debris that was bear you. He called for a board as Hen rolled you over. There was a response from Eddie over the radio as the three of them gawked at you.
“What were you saying about not knowing about pregnancies?” Hen said slowly as she continued to check you out. Chim glanced at Buck as he took the board from Eddie and helped her move you onto it.
“Is that… (Y/N)?” Eddie asked as Hen and Chim hurried you out to the ambulance.
“Urm… uh yeah. It is… We haven’t seen each other since we broke up.” Buck said quietly. Eddie glanced at Buck and nodded, pointing out there was still one more room that needed to be cleared. Buck was silent as they cleared the last room and headed outside Hen was loading you into the ambulance and you seemed to be awake.
“Be advised we have a woman with mild smoke inhalation, testing on the low end for CO poisoning, she has a headache but no other symptoms at present.” Bobby said into his radio. Chim jumped out of the back of the ambulance and motioned for Buck to get in.
“I don’t know…” Buck said.
“Buck. You’re going to want to go.” Athena said firmly. She glanced at Bobby who was now directing other ambulances. “I’ll see if Bobby can give you the last few hours of your shift off.”
Buck still hesitated but walked closer to the ambulance with Eddie who gave him a sympathetic look.
“She looks about thirty weeks Buck… you broke up almost fourteen weeks ago.” Eddie said slowly. Buck frowned at Eddie then at Bobby who gave him a slight nod. Buck hurried towards the ambulance and got in the back. You and Hen were talking quietly. The doors slammed shut as Buck sat down and the ambulance pulled away.
“So.” Hen said awkwardly. You closed your eyes for most of the ride to the hospital, feeling Hen poke and prod. You opened them again when you felt the gurney being pulled out of the ambulance and Hen said that Buck should go with you. Suddenly you were surrounded by people doing tests and asking you questions. You were still disorientated. One minute you had been visiting an estate agent the next the building was on fire and filled with smoke. You dozed off after a while but woke to find Buck sitting in the seat next to you and Hen outside talking to someone just out of sight. He was staring at the floor, his leg bouncing up and down and he sighed every now and then.
Sitting up a little you shafted your weight in the bed. Buck looked up. “You ok?” He asked warily. You sighed and nodded.
“I think so. I feel better.” You muttered. Hen had stopped just outside the door and waited. When nothing else was said she sighed and entered the room.
“Neither of you two are going to talk about it?” She asked. Buck glanced at her while you looked down at your hands and fiddled with them. “Well all right then.” She muttered. A nurse allowed you to be discharged and Hen drove you home. The car ride was silent and she didn’t bring up the pregnancy again. She helped you settle, cleaned up a little and promised that Karen would be around to check in the next day as she was off with Denny for the day and Hen had a long shift and reluctantly agreed that she wouldn’t tell Buck your new address until you were ready to talk to him.
****************************
Bobby had been warned by Chim and Eddie that Buck was in a mood. He’d had a meeting and hadn’t been able to join them on their first call of the shift but Chim had taken the time to call him and let him know that Buck might need someone to talk things through. He wasn’t willing to talk about it with anyone else.
“Buck!” Bobby said as he climbed the steps to the kitchen. Buck had been leaning against a counter, staring at the floor and almost jumped when Bobby called out to him.
“Hey, Bobby.” Buck said with a sigh and tone that told Bobby he was going to hear a lot of complaining.
“Still haven’t spoken to (Y/N)?” He asked. He decided it would be best to wade right in. Buck sighed, rubbing his hands together as he pushed off the kitchen counter he’d been leaning on and walked over.
“I urm. No. I-I tried to reach out but she has a new number and a new apartment.” Buck admitted. Bobby nodded slowly. Buck started helping him prep the vegetables that he had gotten out of the fridge as Buck talked.
“Maybe you could talk to Hen. I know she said she gave (Y/N) her number in case she needs some help. I know the two of you broke up but I’m sure she’d be happy for some support.” Bobby suggested. Buck made a noise that almost had Bobby rolling his eyes. “I thought it ended amicably.”
“We did. After some arguing. It’s just. If she wanted to see me Bobby she would have reached out.” Buck muttered and jabbed at a tomato with a small knife. Bobby took it from him and glanced at Chimney who was hurrying up the stairs laughing with Ravi hurrying after him. Seeing Bobby looking his way and catching a slight nod Chimney hurried over.
“So… what’re we talking about.” He said and glanced at the stovetop and the steaming pan that Bobby hurried to check on, motioning Ravi over.
“(Y/N).” Buck answered.
“Ah. You know. Pregnancy hormones make someone do crazy things. You know I was so nervous that…” He trailed off when Buck sighed and started to walk off. He’d already had Maddie and Chimney coming up with all sorts of excuses when they came over to check on him for the last few days. He was tired of it. “Look, Buck. The two of you… were idiots.”
“What?” Buck said as he turned back and frowned at Chimney. Hen and Eddie had been coming up the stairs and glanced at each other, neither too worried but eager to hear the next chapter in Buck’s drama. There hadn’t been much else happening in the firehouse the past week which was unusual.
“You fell in love too fast. Then just when the two of you start to get to know each other and it got real you bolted and don’t give me that career crap. We all know you, Buck. You would have found a way to follow her around the world if you wanted to. You got scared.” Chimney scolded. Bobby left Ravi watching the stove and walked over, seeing Buck’s face twisted with anger and redden with embarrassment.
“Well hold on now. Buck’s life is here and the two of them really tried to find a way to make it work. They looked into commutes, moving, and transferring. Maddie had just come back and (Y/N) had a promotion that would have, in all honesty, been insane to turn down. I think it took real maturity to realise that they needed to let each other go even if they still loved each other.” Hen defended. Buck seemed to zone out, listening to everyone arguing.
“Of course, you’re the romantic.” Chimney said and chuckled as Hen defended herself. There was a loud clearing of a throat and everyone turned to see Athena. She had clearly just changed out of her uniform and looked unimpressed.
“Maybe instead of talking to everyone here you should go and talk to (Y/N)?” Athena offered as advice. Buck nodded but shrugged.
“I don’t know where she is.” Buck muttered. Athena sighed as if she was fed up and gestured out to the doors.
“She’s outside. Pacing around as if she isn’t about to have her child right on the doorstep. Go.” She motioned for Buck to hurry outside. He jogged down the steps and rushed out to the front of the firehouse. Looking around he couldn’t see anyone. He could hear Bobby and Athena talking as they approached. They both looked empathetic when he came towards them with a defeated look.
“Why don’t you head out.” Bobby offered. Buck looked a little distraught so he quickly added. “We’ve been on a double shift, there’s only twenty-five minutes left and we were going to eat. If no last-minute calls came in. Go and find her.” Bobby insisted. He promised Buck that if anyone asked anything about him not finishing the shift he’d deal with it. Buck changed, shoved his bag into his Jeep and hurtled out of the employee parking lot. It occurred to him as he sat in traffic that he didn’t actually know where to go. Staring up at the red light he tapped his fingers on the steering wheel. Athena had said you’d been outside. He’d drive the block and then head over to Maddie’s if he couldn’t find you. The light went green and he slowly circled the block. As he reached the end of his circle he spotted you stopped at a food truck. He pulled over and hurried towards you as you stepped away from the truck and walked in the opposite direction.
“(Y/N)?” He called. He caught up with you as you were taking a bite of your food and found himself smiling as your eyes went wide and you slowly chewed. “Sorry. Athena said you were looking for me and then you…” He trailed off as you finished your mouthful.
“I was. But then I got hungry.” You mumbled. Buck chuckled and gestured to his car.
“You know if you wanted to. We could go get some food somewhere?” He offered. You nodded and ate on the way to the car, tossing the wrapper into a bin you passed. Getting in the car you sank into the seat and stared ahead. There was an awkward silence as Buck drove.
“So urm. Where did you want to go?” Buck asked. You thought about it and then listed several kinds of food you’d been craving. When he stopped at a red light Buck stared at you for a while before nodding slowly. He turned towards a small supermarket. “I figure we can get everything here.”
The two of you went round the supermarket. The two of you chatted about nothing important and avoided talking about what you needed to. Until May and Maddie came around the corner of an aisle. May was happy to see you and explained that Maddie was helping her find ingredients for a surprise meal for Bobby and her mum. Maddie took Buck to one side and talked to him quickly and quietly. She smiled tightly in your direction. When May was ready to continue shopping they left while Buck took your over to the cafe section after insisting on paying for everything.
“So urm…
"So… urm. You. You're pregnant?" Buck said. You stopped eating for a moment and nodded.
"Yes." You answered just as awkwardly as Buck had asked his very obvious question.
"Right." Buck muttered. The two of you sat in silence for a while before you cleared your throat.
"I tried to call. I should have… gone by the firehouse sooner." You said quietly.
"You know what we had this sunami and this crazy earthquake. I had to replace my phone because of that so I had a new number. You wouldn't have gotten through to me." Buck offered up quickly. You nodded and smiled awkwardly, picking at a loaf of soft tiger bread. There was an awkward silence that fell over the two of you before Buck frowned.
"So you were going to tell me?" He pressed. You looked guilty for a moment.
"Not at first." You admitted and looked away from him, down at the table, balling the bread in your hands into little tiny balls. "After the first few months, I tried to call. Then I moved back here two months ago and… I saw you. You were in the fire truck."
"You've been back for two months?" Buck asked. His voice cracked with pain as he blinked several times and looked over at the doors of the supermarket as of he wanted very much to bolt from the building.
"My job fell through." You said quietly and he nodded.
"Hen said something about that." He said and cleared his throat trying to move the lump that formed as he thought about everything thing.
"So…" you said. Unsure what else to say.
"Do you need a ride home?" Buck asked. He had wanted to ask a million questions. How was the baby, where were you living, did you need anything, boy or girl? But now he was in the moment he wanted it to end. He'd thought it would be like talking with you before breaking up. But it was just awkward and painful. He drove you home and you gave him your number. You declined his offer to help carry the bags inside and he waited until you were safely inside.
He didn't drive home. He went to Maddie's. She found him sobbing on her sofa. So she lay down on it with him, thankful that she had let Chimney talk her into the bigger sofa she thought was a bit much. Chimney didn't say anything when he got home. Just gestured to Maddie if she needed anything and went to check on Jee-Yun who Maddie had put down for a nap after picking her up from Karen.
"I don't know what I thought would happen?" Buck said tearfully when he was finally done sobbing.
"It's ok Buck. Things will work out." Maddie said soothingly.
"How do you know that?" Buck asked defeatedly. Maddie shrugged and let Buck cry himself to sleep before getting up. Chimney was quietly making a hot drink for them both.
"Someone needs to get those to talk everything out." Chimney said quietly, handing one drink to Maddie as he led the way to their bedroom.
"It has to be awkward. They didn't exactly break up because they fell out of love." She muttered. With a sigh, the two of them resigned themselves to keeping an eye on Buck until he bounced back and figured out a way to let you know how he was feeling. They just hoped it would be sooner rather than later.

You turned to see the guy from the store he was staring at you. You knew most of the people at the party but you weren’t sure who he was or who would have invited him, at least not without warning the group to a newcomer in the group.
His gaze was so intense that you grabbed the nearest friend’s arm. Billy turned to snap at whoever had grabbed him but stopped when he saw it was you.
"He looks like a serial killer." You whispered to Billy who looked amused as he looked from you to the guy staring at you.
“His eyes follow you like a creepy painting.” Billy muttered. You laughed nervously but gripped his arm tighter. “Watch out he doesn’t get you.”
You looked up at Billy clearly uncomfortable and he smiled at you. He let you cling to his arm as he pushed through the crowd towards Stu and Tatum. You glanced over your shoulder and jumped a little bit as you saw that you’d been followed.
“Is he following us?” You asked quietly. Billy looked where you were and saw the same guy again.
“Maybe he’s that killer the cops said was on the loose.” Billy said with a cruel tone and chuckled when you gasped and visibly stiffened. You managed to lose him in the crowd and stuck close to the group. It wasn’t until Tatum gave you a ride home and you realised that you’d left your bedroom window wide open all day that you thought back to the creep. There was a sick feeling in your stomach as you rushed to close the window and peered out. You were sure that every shadow was some masked murderer coming for you. Slowly you check each room until you hear the sound of your bedroom window sliding open. You yelled as you grabbed at something leaning against the wall and ran to your room, swinging at whatever it was.
“Ah! Hey! It’s just me!” Billy yelled. You stopped and realised that you had closed your eyes in fright and that you were brandishing a broom. Looking at Billy you could see the bump on his head where you’d managed to strike him.
“Sorry! I’m a bit on edge.” You said breathlessly. Billy finished climbing into the room and glanced behind him. You saw something move but didn’t think anything of it as Billy turned back to you and reached out a hand, gently putting it on your shoulder as he stared at you.
“You aren’t going to beat me up again?” He joked and you scoffed.
“I only hit you because you snuck in through my window. Why are you even here?” You asked and Billy sighed.
“I was driving over to Stu’s. Saw that creep hanging around down the road. Figured I’d make sure you were ok.” Billy said quickly. You nodded slowly and gestured to the living room.
“Well… thanks. To be honest I was a little nervous. Bing out here on my own.” You answered. He accepted a can of pop from you as you fetched one from the kitchen and sat in the living room on the sofa as you fiddled with the TV to get it to work. “You… you don’t have to stay if you had plans.”
“Oh… I could stay for a while. Till you feel better? I just need to make a call if that’s ok?” Billy asked. You nodded and pointed out where the phone was. Billy headed into the kitchen to make his call as you flipped through the channels to find something interesting. Billy came back after a few minutes and sat awkwardly at the end of your sofa. The two of you weren’t really used to spending time one-on-one. After a few reruns of old shows, there was a banging at the door. You jumped and leapt up while Billy slowly went to see who it was. The door burst open and you screamed as Billy was knocked backwards. You stopped and took a slow, sharp breath in as Syd forced her way in.
“You! You! Get away from (Y/N)!” She yelled at Billy who scrambled to his feet. “You murderer!”
“What?” You asked as you got between them and stopped Syd from throwing one of your mother’s vases at Billy.
“Someone down the road was killed. He did it! I know he did.” Syd accused. Tatum ran into the house behind her, her brother following.
“Well, he couldn’t have done that…” You said quietly. Syd shushed you which made you turn furiously to Tatum and fill her in on what had happened since you last saw her.
"If I’m the killer why didn’t I kill (Y/N) when we were alone together?" Billy snapped at Syd who scoffed at him.
“Syd he’s been with me almost the entire time I’ve been home. He must have shown up… maybe five to ten minutes after me.” You explained. Dewey cleared his throat and stepped closer to Syd.
“If that’s true then Billy couldn’t have done it.” He said quietly. Billy smiled smugly and raised his eyebrows as Syd growled out a noise of frustration under her breath and stormed out of your house.

The police had finished with their questions not long before your shift at the video store Deciding that you didn’t want to go home with your parents and watch them argue about when the police would let them back into the house you headed to work.
“Hey!” Stu said as he leaned his head on the shelves. You looked up to see him leaning over the shelves that you were stocking. He watched you for a moment before smiling.
“Yeah. Apparently, it was lucky we weren’t home.” You muttered sarcastically. Stu pulled a face.
“Really? They got in your house?” He asked curiously. You huffed and nodded, slamming the tape in your hands onto the shelf.
“Yeah, they were in the house.” You said and grimaced as he pulled another face that almost looked amused. "They were in my room! I bet they went through my stuff and touched everything with their creepy serial killer hands."
“Probably went through your underwear drawer.” Stu said and laughed as he rounded the shelves. You pulled a horrified face and jumped as Billy seemed to appear out of nowhere behind you.
“No!” You gasped. Stu’s face went slack as he copied your expression and Billy chuckled.
“Oh yeah. Probably jerking off to it right now.” Stu joked.
“With his creepy serial killer hands.” Billy commented.
“Ew… Will you guys come with me after work? My parents might not be back home in time. What if he’s back… looking through my stuff.” You said and made your fingers into grabby claws. Stu wrapped an arm around your shoulders and pulled you along as he walked down the line of shelves.
“Yeah. Sure thing. We’ll be around.” He said with a laugh.

Request: Anonymous asked: halloween2023 Hi there! I was wondering if you could do a Kol Mikaelson x reader with the prompt: "AHHHHH! The black cat I was holding turned into a person." (reader being the cat? 👉🏼🏼) Love your writing <3

Kol had been looking for you for days. His siblings kept telling him that he was worrying about nothing and that you would show up any day now. Which, given all of the monsters and creatures in the area did not fill him with confidence. He only became convinced that they weren’t involved themselves after searching the Mikaelson house twice.
He had, however, befriended a rather nice black cat during his search for you. At first, the creature had followed him around, annoying him as he tried to shoo it off and then scare it off but no matter what he did not only did it find him again but it rubbed up against his legs and yowled.
“I can’t find (Y/N). Someone has to have done something!” Kol snapped as he stomped into the room. Elijah had been inspecting several magical items that you had left behind and was beginning to come to the same conclusion as Kol.
“You’re being paranoid.” Klaus said with a smug smile. Kol went to argue with Klaus and pointed an infuriated finger at his brother while Revbekah hurried to intervene. The commotion caused Elijah to drop that cat-shaped charm he was looking at which shattered onto the ground as Kol stormed out of the room.
“AHHHHH! The black cat I was holding turned into a person." He yelled and hurried back into the room and pointed.
“It’s me you bloodsucking idiot.” You grumbled and stretched. Revekah held out a jacket for you which you snatched up and shrugged on.
“Took you lot long enough. I’ve been stuck like that for months! And you!” You turned to Klaus who raised his eyebrows in amusement. “Run off! I’ll show you running off!” You threw a candle stick that was on the edge of the table at Klaus who caught it. Kol reached for you and rushed you from the room before Klaus could throw it back.

“I suppose we could go and see what’s in the area again. Maybe we missed something.” Emily was saying as Hotch hurried in. He sighed, looking at his phone as Emily paused and gave him a moment to speak.
“(Y/N). You should go with one of the officers. David, JJ I need you dealing with the press.” Hotch explained.
“What happened?” Rossi asked as he got up and fixed his jacket, smoothing the creases with a flick of his hand.
“The chief thinks he found the UNSUB.” Hotch muttered.
“Do they fit the profile?” JJ asked quickly.
“No. They also seem to have an alibi and witnesses… (Y/N) go back over what we might have missed. Derek, Emily. Continue working teh profile follow up with the suspects that Garcia found. Reid work with Garcia to narrow down her search.” Hotch instructed. The group agreed and all rushed off to their different spots. You waved to Emily and Derek as you hurried out to the carpark. When no office came out to go with you, you decided to go alone.
****************
“What did (Y/N) find?” Hotch asked. Emily and Derek had left to chase up some leads and returned, sitting down to find Hotch and Rossi grimly sipping mugs of the bad coffee from the pot in the staff room.
“(Y/N)? We haven’t heard anything from them.” Derek said quickly. Emily frowned and checked her phone. She decided to call your phone buzzed between the table leg and the wall. Rossi reached down to grab it and stared at it.
“I don’t have a good feeling about this one.” He said ominously. The room went silent. A heavy silence that weighed everyone down as Hotch gathered everyone and led the way to the cars. It was getting dark when the search began.
“(Y/N)!” Derek shouted. Emily winced but listened carefully for a response. Shaking her head Derek yelled again. “Wait!” Nothing. Then. Something. Quiet but there.
“I hear it too.” They rushed towards the quiet noise and came across you. “Oh my…” Emily trailed off, finding herself speechless and rushed to see what she could do. Derek rushed a few feet away yelling that they found you. There was a rustling and moving to the side of you, Derek followed. Emily shouted at the others to go after him while help came for you. She rode with you to the hospital and left the team to deal with the UNSUB.
“Hey.” Reid said as he approached the hospital room. It was very small but it was a small-town clinic. As soon as you were stable you’d be airlifted to a hospital nearer home.
“Hey.” Emily said awkwardly.
“We got him. He urm. He wasn’t as fast as Derek.” Reid said in a half-hearted attempt to make a joke.
“Well yeah. Guy like that. Waits for someone to be alone and gets them from behind. They don’t stand a chance with Derek after them.” Emily scoffed out and hoped she sounded enthusiastic as if the doctors had given her good news. There was an awkward silence as Reid looked at you all bandaged and covered in cables.
“I can stay for a while if you need a break.” Reid offered. She eventually agreed and left him reading to you. He was reciting a book you liked for memory. Emily headed back to the station and sat down with the others.
“How is…?” Derek asked nervously. Emily nodded and sighed.
“It looks promising.” That was all Emily said until she looked out of the office. Hotch and Rossi were arguing with the officers. “What’s going on?”
“We don’t have enough on him.” Derek’s voice was dangerously angry and Emily frowned.
“WHAT!” She said loudly enough that JJ rushed to shut the office door. “How could we not have enough?”
“He had none of (Y/N)’s blood on him. They want to let him go. Prominent member of a small town, happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.” Derek snapped and shook his head as he yanked another file Garcia had faxed over off the pile next to him on the old office table, almost tearing the cover of the brownish-yellow folder Rossi had put together.
“We know he has a hideout in the woods. If (Y/N) had found it he would have had more than enough time to get changed. He would have heard us coming with all the yelling.” Emily snapped. Before JJ could intervene Emily was storming out of the office towards Rossi and Hotch who excused himself and grabbed Emily’s arm pulling her away.
“I understand that you care a great deal about (Y/N). But we have (Y/N) safe." Hotch said quietly.
“How can you just let them do this? How can Rossi let them?” She asked and Hotch sighed.
“Because there are four more missing women. We don't know which of these officers are involved.” Hotch replied. Emily sighed and shook her head, leaving with the intention of heading back to the hospital.
“Wait up!” Derek called. She paused at the door of her car and waited. “Garcia narrowed down the location of (Y/N)’s watch. Before it was broken. She thinks she’d be able to guide us to the location of the hideout.” He explained and held up a satellite phone.
“The others aren’t coming?” Emily asked as she got in.
“Hotch wanted us to wait till morning. I’m not doing that.” Derek said firmly.
“Neither am I.” She decided and said firmly to him as she pulled out of the car park. JJ had hurried after Derek hoping to stop them but quickly realised she was too late.
“Good. We need to be here to keep an eye on these guys.” Rossi said as she came back inside. “One of them is our other UNSUB.”
