I have this ultra silly head canon that at one point Nile asks Nicky if he’ll help her improve her aim because he’s been shooting stuff since before guns were invented and also owns like. So many firearms, some of which Nile didn’t even know existed. and Nicky, being the epitome of learning through trial and error (error being accidentally shooting yourself in the dick and making Booker swear a life oath to keep him from ever mentioning it to the others) but also not a fucking sadist, is like “give me two days to prepare”

and a couple of days later he approaches a slightly nervous Nile and says, very seriously, “from now on, we are enemies. no one is safe. no time or space is sacred, there is only you, your weapon, and your target. god speed” and then hands her a fucking nerf gun. Nile gets to stare at it for about a second before Nicky shoots her point blank with his own nerf gun then sprints off

and this begins what will later come to be known as the Infamous Immortal Nerf War (that only ends when Joe finally has had enough after being woken by taking yet another nerf dart to the ass because Nile tried to get a sleeping Nicky from an improbable angle. turns out garden hose is as formidable a weapon as the nerf gun)
