pick a pile: "How can you get more clarity/leave this rut? -career/studies"
take a breath and choose the photo or number that calls you the most to read suggestions and guidance in regard to your current work/school/studies situation. this reading is especially supposed to help those who are confused about what's ahead for them or how to reach their goals, so that they can maybe find some clarity about the next steps they should take or at least make them think about and see their situation under a new light.
don’t take the reading too seriously. only take what resonates with you and leave the rest. if you're not called by any pile, let this reading slid as it may not hold messages for you. if you're called by more than one pile, there may be messages in each of those piles. remember that is a general reading and some things may not resonate with you. energies can change and readings are based on present ones (as you read); you're always in charge of your life.

pile 1
I think there's something you need to overcome, some type of obstacle or something you need to learn from your present situation, before you can move on onto the next stage and leave this rut you may find yourself stuck into. I'm also hearing "ascension" so it may be something related to your spirituality too and how you live it or see it, or if you have any insecurities related with it (could be a dark night of the soul/tower moment). You may need to study more about it, about tarots for examples or learning from more other/ancient cultures (it could be either from books, online or travelling for example). Ofc, if it's not regarding your spirituality (which you may actually work with), it could be something you need to realize from your confusion, maybe a change in approach or perspective. Or it could be about communicating more your needs (or even listening to them for real and working to meet them: if something doesn't make you happy, you can do the basic and then move onto something else -I'm talking about a job you don't like anymore or school: just work to get outta there). I think you probably went through a huge blockage or a pretty tough situation that kinda made you worry about your abilities as well (eg. an exam gone bad). Try to reconnect with yourself and analyze what went wrong, see it as a lesson from which to grow instead of something that is blocking you. Things are changing (maybe you're palnning a change in your job or school or where you want to live), and this sometimes really brings in big doubts about ourselves. Try to always stay connected with yourself. Beautiful flowers can blossom after the darkest and coldest times. Let yourself do the same. Clarity will very likely hit you after you give yourself a break/take things easier (don't worry/overstress) and understand patiently the reasons behind this blockage you're experiencing. In conclusion, the main point in your pile is about learning something important that will help you move forward and maybe pass to a different level (practically, eg. by moving position in your job or even just personally, eg. by gaining more knowledge about yourself or something).

pile 2
You are probably embraking on a new path, be it a new career or school. It could also be your first job (and it could be you starting your own business) or you're trying to apply somewhere specific through a competition (for a few; maybe you even got that position you always dreamt of). What is blocking you and causing you to not be able to really move forward and start this new thing, is probably fear. You may be having doubts about your abilities or think things may be going in a specific (not so positive) way while that's not true. You have all you need to make it, and even be successful at it. You have learned a lot in your past and prepared for this a lot, so that's just something you need to check within yourself: why are you blocking yourself/self sabotaging yourself? Why do you fear really trying and making it? You're enough and even if things won't go exactly as planned, they won't be as bad, and anyway you have the right mindset to adapt and make the best out of any situation that will come to you. I also think the Universe is going to help you somehow. For some of you, you probably fear having to leave something behind or close the door with something (eg. you need to move abroad which means you'll have to leave family and friends, maybe even a partner behind) but it's not necessarily so. These days, communications are so easy with the internet, there's no need to worry. You can still be present with them too and find solutions/compromises, if you (both) really want to commit to what you have. You don't have to close any door if you don't want to: no matter where you'll physically be, your heart can be anywhere, and you can always have days off/vacations to spend with whom and where you want. Have a real chat with yourself (and your person/people) to see what you really want for yourself (and your relationship/s). Sometimes we only need to give things a try and see if they can work or not. Sometimes we only need to communicate our fears and doubts openly to find out what to do.

pile 3
You're probably trying to find your call or road. You may have a dream career or you're envisioning something about how you want your future to be like, but... it's like it stops there. You're not really taking any real step towards it, it seems. Maybe you're still young and in school, so obviously you can only daydream about what you want to do (still, preparing yourself and planning future studies is good). Maybe you're just clearing your mind about this matter. Maybe you're just living day by day hoping this torture (school, yeah) will end soon so you can do something you really love. I think you're kinda bored with your life now, you don't even want to study, and daydreaming about your future is helping you trying to find a spur to go on. For some of you, no matter if you're still in school or not, you may have a dream career but it feels so unreachable that you can only imagine or daydream about it: you consciously decide to not take action about it, either to not disappoint someone else (probably your family/society) or because you don't feel good or prepared enough. Here's the thing: I understand for some cultures is hard to do it and disappoint your parents (sometimes it's also a matter of triggers you get like you need to be what they want and have their validation to live well, while you actually don't but that's what they made you believe even unconsciously), but tbh you're not living for anyone's pleasure nor to realize any of their unfulfilled desires. You're living just for you and to fulfill yourself and your wishes. As for being good or prepared enough... honestly you'll never be prepared enough for anything in this life. You just learn on the way what you need, you adapt, you change, you transform... that's a continuos work so you feeling not being good or prepared enough is basically just your mind's excuse to not let you leave this known and comfy place where you're sure of what's ahead of you and what's around you, even if you don't really like it or don't feel it's for you. Listen to your soul: if it's not a desire born just for fantasize or to escape a difficult situation but it's something you really want and need to do, then you probably should at least listen to yourself and maybe give yourself a chance. And if right now you need to give yourself a break, do that for real. You have time to plan things and even to study.

pile 4
I have the feeling that there's something you don't wanna check, and it may be something inside of you or related to your feelings/emotions. Maybe you're just having a hard time understanding what to do but... I feel there's also something you're avoiding. Maybe cause it just hurts too much, in some way. Maybe you're closing off from your creativity? You probably fear not making it if you chose any creative endeavour so you're opting for an "easier" career. I understand your reasons ofc, but I'm not sure your soul does. I think you may fear that others are better than you or there's a lot of offer in your creative field so you're just trying to apply for 9-5 jobs. Maybe, actually, you're just competing with yourself and you feel like your art (I almost wrote heart, perfect) is not able to give away what you really want to give, or that you cannot do what you want the way you want to. It's like, you're moving away from what you really want to do, just because it constantly turns out to be not exactly how you want it to be. What if it has to be different from how you want it? What if it's so just to teach you, and maybe your audience as well, something important? Like... maybe you just have to appreciate yourself for who you are, the way you are. You don't have to be better, you're already perfect, and so is your art (again, almost wrote heart). What if there's nothing more you need to do or give, cause you're already giving your all? It's okay, we cannot send our mind a signal to stamp what we envision (I mean, I don't even wanna know from where'd you stamp that), and it's okay if our hands/bodies cannot translate things into reality as we are seeing them in our mind. We're not a scanner, fr. Think that, in the process of moving from your mind to your body, you put into your reasult/art all you are, all you've seen, all you've been into, all you've practiced (but not what you can still practice and do, cause you can get better too here and there, you can smooth things over, if you don't give up and keep working with yourself). And these things are things that only you, with your own life experience, can give to your art and the people looking at it. So maybe, MAYBE, you can try to give yourself another chance and more time, and the ability to even make mistakes and change. If you want to, ofc. If not, you're ofc free to go to your 9-5 job and have it "easier" (not the right expression, but still): maybe you'll come back to art in a different time (maybe when it's the right time and you have made up your mind about it and all the issues you perceive around it and yourself), in a different way and form. And add even more to it, after this new experience.
[I channeled about an artistic career, but honestly it could also be any other endeavour for some of you: the focus of the reading is about how you see yourself in relation to what you want to do, how you may be trying to escape what you want to do so to not having to deal with your block/self issues and find an "easier" and/or "faster" road to success -whatever it is that you consider success, maybe getting a good amount of money and not having to worry/being too much in charge of decisions -if you work as an employee, it's your boss deciding most stuff-. You have time to deal with this, btw, if this is what you fear].

Happy 28th! Here are all the fics I read and enjoyed this month. this could either break my heart, or bring it back to life | anditsonlyforthebrave | [18k] Harry never really cared for love: he has two children he needs to care for, and a Country to rule. Love is just not in his cards. Enter Louis, who spins his children's lives but most importantly Harry's. In Shining Armour of Trackie and Trainers | LadyAJ_13 | [9k] Online dating isn't exactly working for Harry. In fact, it couldn't really be going much worse. But then the door of the bar opens, and the pack of friends walking in parts and - that’s Louis Tomlinson. Louis fucking Tomlinson.
Angel Baby | brightgolden | [51k] “You’d be a MILF,” Louis teases, squeezing Harry’s love handles. Harry smiles, dimples deep in his cheeks as he hums in agreement. “I would, wouldn’t I? Your MILF.” OR When Louis’ sugar-baby-turned-mate suddenly wanted a pup, he simply couldn’t say no to his bright-eyed omega. After all, who didn’t want a mini Harry running around the house? He should have known that it wasn’t all wonderful in the wonderland of baby making. It's Fine To Fake It 'Til You Make It ('Til It's True) | sunflouwerhabit | [141k] Harry Styles @HarryStyles_KE hi again! so, i wanted to apologize one more time for the whole “helogogjs good gksdjid” thing, and also say that i didn’t just accidentally open your DM’s when i wasn’t paying attention earlier. i sort of had a question about a tweet you posted yesterday? like. the whole “rent a boyfriend” thing? is that something you were serious about? and if so, how does one come to hire you to be their boyfriend? i’m, um, asking for a friend ***** Harry dreads an impending visit to his hometown, where he’ll be forced to reunite with a newly engaged ex-boyfriend, a childhood best friend turned near stranger, and a family who never understood just how desperately he needed to leave. In the midst of it all, a ludicrous Twitter proposition brings him to Louis.
It’s Only Sunny Cause the Planet’s Dying | LetTheMusicMoveYou | [14k] The man leans back in his chair and looks down at the tarot cards in front of him. “Wow, that was really impressive. How long did it take you to memorize all this bullshit?” He raises a brow and that challenging look is back on his face, but he’s not even bothering to mask it this time. It makes Louis’ blood run cold. “I beg your pardon?” The man chuckles, but there’s no humor in it. “If you take a peek in my wallet that you just stole, you’ll see there’s a detective’s badge in there. Why don’t you come on down to the police station with me and you can explain your methods to me there?” (Or the one where Louis is a thief and a con-artist who’s used to getting what he wants, using any means necessary. And Harry is is the straight-laced detective who might just be tired of always doing the right thing). Running Over Thoughts That Make My Feet Hurt | enchantedlandcoffee | [5k] Louis is the little league coach of 'The Ducklings', the team that Harry's daughter plays for. Whilst she tries her best, she doesn't quite have the skills so Coach Tommo steps in. He offers private lessons to try and help her, and if he gets in her dad's good books? Well that'd just be a bonus. Save Me (from myself) | Imogenlee | [159k] The problem with being friends with Liam Payne was that he had a lot of friends... and forced them to be around each other. When they finished high school, both Louis and Harry were equally relieved that they wouldn't have to tolerate each other constantly or whatever it was that they did. For five years, it worked out perfectly. They'd only had to see each other a handful of times. Unfortunately, Liam had to go and get engaged, ask them to both be groomsmen, and then go full groomzilla on their arses. With just twelve weeks to plan the 'perfect' destination wedding and throw every ridiculous pre-wedding celebration Liam and his fiancée stumble across, it was safe to say they were firmly back in each other's lives. And no one could have predicted that was exactly what they needed. Fight For Us | FallingLikeThis | [11k] Louis isn’t okay. It’s beyond wrong, the way they’re held in a cage waiting to be chosen for mating. It’s the way it’s been all Louis’ life, but he never wanted to end up like this. He’d hoped against hope that he’d present as a beta since they don’t have these same restrictions on them. They don’t have to adhere to their biology. And one dark night, long after all of the other omegas in the pen have fallen asleep, biology comes calling for Louis. In The Name of Being Honest | sunflouwerhabit therogueskimo | [124k] Back at his desk, Louis closed his eyes for a moment, trying to settle into the reality of this. He was leaving the UK for only the second time in his life. Suddenly, the holiday he took to Spain three summers ago felt like it paled in comparison. He was going to the U.S. - for work, it was true, but still - alone. He’d been all for seizing the moment when his boss had been looking at him with a gaze of steel, but now he felt vaguely nauseous. Louis took several shaky breaths, feeling like the air was being sucked from the room, and opened the manila folder, laying it flat on his desk. His breath caught as he saw the destination, centered in a large, block font at the very top of the first page: Robinson Publishing - Chicago, Illinois, United States of America. ~~~ After two years of living in an everlasting cycle of work, sleep, and regret, Louis finds himself wandering brand new streets perpetually haunted by the ghosts of his past. The Chicago Fic.

Tarot is an Abstract Art
The tarot is an enigmatic and intriguing tool that has captivated people for centuries. With a history shrouded in mystery, this ancient instrument is composed of 78 cards that are divided into two distinct groups: the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. Each card holds its own unique meaning and symbolism, making the tarot a rich and complex system that can be used for divination, self-reflection, and spiritual exploration.
To fully unlock the secrets of the tarot, it is essential to engage with all of its material. This means exploring and understanding the meaning and significance of each of the 78 cards, and how they relate to one another in the context of a reading. Through this process of deep study and contemplation, one can begin to grasp the intricate web of symbolism and meaning that underpins the tarot.
But the tarot is more than just a collection of cards – it is a reflection of life itself, with all its joys, struggles, triumphs, and challenges. The journey of the tarot is a journey of self-discovery, of facing the unknown, and of finding the courage to move forward in the face of uncertainty. As we delve deeper into the mysteries of the tarot, we begin to see how its insights can help us navigate the complexities of our own lives, and gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
The Tarot Structure
The tarot is a fascinating and intricate system that consists of a specific and traditional structure, which includes a total of 78 cards. This structure is divided into two main groups: the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. The term "Arcana" means "secrets," which alludes to the hidden and esoteric knowledge that is contained within the cards.
The Major Arcana is composed of 22 cards, numbered from 0 to 21 (Sometimes from 1 to 22). These cards are considered to be the most significant and powerful cards in the deck, as they represent major archetypes and universal themes that are present in human experience. Each card in the Major Arcana has a distinct meaning and symbolism, and together they form a kind of narrative or journey that reflects the human condition.
The Minor Arcana, on the other hand, consists of 56 cards, which are further divided into four suits: swords, cups, wands, and pentacles (also known as coins or disks). Each suit has 14 cards, with the numbered cards ranging from ace to 10, and four unnumbered court cards: the Page, Knight, Queen, and King. The suits are associated with different aspects of human experience, such as intellect (swords), emotions (cups), creativity (wands), and material wealth (pentacles).
The structure of the tarot is significant because it provides a framework for interpreting the cards and understanding how they relate to one another. By understanding the structure of the tarot, one can begin to grasp the underlying patterns and themes that are present in the cards. This, in turn, can lead to a deeper understanding of the human experience and the mysteries of the universe.

Picking your first Tarot Deck
Choosing a tarot deck is an essential step in starting your study of the tarot. While there are many different types of tarot decks available, it is often recommended that beginners start with the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck. This deck, which was created by Arthur Edward Waite and illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith, is perhaps the most well-known and widely used tarot deck in the world.
One of the reasons why the Rider-Waite-Smith deck is recommended for beginners is because there is a wealth of information available on the symbolism and meaning of the cards. Many books, online resources, and courses are focused on this particular deck, making it easier to find information and guidance when starting out. Additionally, because it is so widely used, there are many interpretations and perspectives on the cards, which can be helpful for understanding the different layers of meaning that can be found within the tarot.
Another advantage of the Rider-Waite-Smith deck is its clear and easily recognizable imagery. The cards are designed with simple, clean lines and colors, which make it easier for beginners to understand and interpret the symbolism. However, it is important to note that everyone may have a different connection with different decks. For instance, some people may find a tarot deck with more abstract or complex images to be more resonant with their own personal experiences and interpretation.
Ultimately, the choice of which tarot deck to use is a personal one, and there are no hard and fast rules. While the Rider-Waite-Smith deck may be recommended for beginners, it is important to choose a deck that speaks to you personally, and that you feel comfortable working with. Whether it is a mermaid tarot, Marseille tarot, or another deck, the most important thing is to choose a deck that inspires and resonates with you, and to approach the study of the tarot with an open mind and a willingness to learn and grow.
For example, my first tarot was a gift, and it was inspired by Waite's Tarot and the first one I bought was also inspired by Waite's tarot too, but with a mermaid theme.
How to Study Tarot
Studying the tarot is much like learning a new language. In order to become fluent in the language of the tarot, one must become familiar with the symbols, archetypes, and meanings associated with each of the 78 cards. There are many different techniques and approaches that can be used to improve your fluency and understanding of the tarot.
One of the most effective ways to study the tarot is to create summaries of the cards and their meanings. By summarizing the essence of each card, you can develop a deeper understanding of its symbolism and how it relates to the other cards in the deck. Additionally, interacting with the tarot community and seeking out resources such as books, blogs, and online courses can help you to gain new insights and perspectives on the tarot. An addendum, summarizing is not picking up keywords for each card.
Another key element of studying the tarot is to put your knowledge into practice by doing tarot readings. By practicing your skills and experimenting with different spreads and interpretations, you can hone your skills and develop your own unique approach to reading the cards.
It is also important to see the tarot in the world around you. By observing how the symbols and archetypes of the tarot manifest in everyday life, you can deepen your understanding of the cards and gain new insights into their meanings. For example, I love to compare breaking the eggs as The Tower and cooking it Death.
Finally, one of the most enjoyable and effective ways to improve your fluency in the tarot is to consume as much content as possible. This can include reading books, watching videos, listening to podcasts, and attending workshops and classes. You can also learn a great deal by watching other tarot readers in action, whether it be through online videos or in-person readings. By immersing yourself in the world of the tarot, you can develop a deep and intuitive understanding of its language and symbolism, and become a skilled and confident reader.
Don't Stop at the Major Arcana
It is essential to recognize that the tarot system is composed of 78 cards, and not just the 22 Major Arcana. While the Major Arcana represents the major mysteries and archetypes of the universe, the Minor Arcana is equally important and represents the everyday aspects of life. Just because they are called "minor" does not mean that they are less significant than the Major Arcana. In fact, the Minor Arcana is often referred to as the "lesser mysteries," representing the subtle nuances and complexities of our daily lives.
It is worth noting that in the past, many tarot readers focused only on the Major Arcana due to a lack of information and instruction. However, with the wealth of knowledge and resources available today, it is vital to explore the full potential of the tarot system by utilizing all 78 cards.
By incorporating the Minor Arcana into your readings, you can gain a deeper understanding of the everyday experiences and challenges that people face. So don't limit yourself to just the Major Arcana - embrace the full potential of the tarot system by exploring all 78 cards.
Extra: Now I am going to be honest, I will try to write about all the cards... I had already started but got discouraged once but I will try again. So I just ask you to be patient..

Hey Pinnie I've been thinking, what do the Clergy men do outside of work? Hobbies and stuff
Someone I can't imagine having a life outside of work is obviously Belo. I don't think he'd want to leave Krulu's side anytime soon so he's always on duty.
If I recall you did say Fank-E practically lives in the Clergy but I can see him going to raves (or making them). Maybe settles down to play some video games or messes around the internet. Hangs out with Vinnel too.
Vinnel probably also lives in the clergy. He's always doing something crafty with his clown dolls/dolling up or terrorizing his bobble or poppet. Hangs out with Fank-E.
Patches is always doing his nerdy research stuff, he probably spends days up in his lab and practically lives there. Maybe he indulges into his horse girl fantasies when he truly has time.
Morell is another one I can't see much outside of the kitchen. He forages for ingredients and tries to perfect new recipes. Visits his folks back home too.
Gallon is a bit hard to pin point but I can imagine him at some fancy café drinking a coffee and reading a book or scrolling through social media. Maybe goes to parties
Nebul is always taking care of his pets so he always has something to do. Also settles down with a book
You've talked about what Grimbly and Santi do before. Grimbly is either going out shopping, watching TV/scrolling through social media, going out with friends, planning his next outfit, doing hot girl shit.
Santi is always mingling with others. Goes to parties and stuff.
(Sorry that I spoofed it at the end, got tired. I also wanted to say that I know fucking hot monster men is the main focus of your blog but I also really really like the way you create and write for stories/lore/characters)
[The best part of this whole blog for me is to attribute lore to said monster sluts. And I'm glad to hear you say that. :>]
Belo definitely lives a very co-dependent lifestyle. If he's not begging for work, he's usually aimlessly ambulating in the garden. He'll eventually start picking up an instrument or two. Perhaps a harp or a something softly melodious. Krulu would enjoy it if he learned to play an organ.
Fank-e spends a lot of his free time online. He's got a widespread reach online in spite of TCE policy being that staff remain outside of social media. Fank-e's everywhere. And I mean everywhere. A shitload of profiles exist wherein he converses and games with strangers, he prides himself in his ability to make so many online friends and administrating several pages. When he's not immersed in his digital life, he does eventually go to random stores or party locations, yes.
Vinnel, as a creative sort, enjoys collecting dolls and customizing them. He's also a bit of a painter, but not on Shags' level. He spends a lot of free time collecting/altering items for the escape game floor.
Patches has a green thumb, as plant magic is one of his most favored types of magic. It's not uncommon to see him fucking around with garden plants. When he truly has time for it, yes, he does indulge the horse girl urges.
Morell whittles. He's not professional at it, and he usually doesn't take on very complex projects, but it's a little hobby. He's also a trapper, he likes working with different materials to make all sorts of set ups, definitely the type of guy to set traps everywhere. Although his hunting is beneficial for work, it's mostly just a hobby.
Gallon is not that much of a reader, surprisingly. He enjoys puzzles however, anything that's fascinating and takes a lot of thought to crack at. He enjoys sometimes putting together small models of sceneries, which is something Martin learned from him.
Nebul is an astrology bitch. He enjoys tarot and is very into learning about people's behavior. He definitely reads about social sciences, it's very useful to him. Naturally, he does spend a good part of his free time with pets.
Santi is probably the biggest reader here. I think I've said that before. I find it funny that you guessed everyone else reads except him.
You didn't mention Sybastian, but I will. It may look like the mimic doesn't care for hobbies, and honestly providing for the little ones takes a considerable chunk of free time. He does have a tendency to collect rare coins, having no recollection of how it started.
Krulu has a lot of art projects that would probably blind you if you looked at them raw. When he eventually starts creating again, that'll be the focus of his routine.

They get along surprisingly well
Probably because she was so persistent in getting to know him
And she's very accepting and caring
Opposites attract i guess
She bought a blue chicken from him and let's it live free-roam in the house
Haley hates the chicken
It pecks her when Emily isn't around

General Witchcraft: Living in the Broom Closet
Note- Please make sure you do your own research, not everything is for everyone!! On top of that, please make sure you put your safety above everything else, if you think doing something could potentially put you in a dangerous situation, don't do it!!
Tumblr media
We live in a modern day and age where different beliefs are being embraced and supported. However, there are still people who aren't as accepting as you'd hope them to be, so if you're stuck in the broom closet, then this can be hard. Luckily, there are many different ways to practice and learn about witchcraft while keeping it on the down low. So with that being said, here are some things you can do for when your stuck in the broom closet.
✨ (◍•ᴗ•◍) (・∀・) (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) (ㆁωㆁ) (◡ ω ◡) ✨
1. Altars
You don't need an altar in order to practice witchcraft, but if you do want one but aren't in an accepting household, you can create digital altars with Picrew or in different games such as Minecraft or Animal Crossing. You can also create a shoebox/tin altar and store it in a place nobody but you will find it. You can even turn your whole room into your personal altar! You can add discreet objects that represent the elements or the different aspects of your craft all over your room and just say it's decoration.
2. Sigils and Chants
If you're stuck in the broom closet and can't do any spells/rituals openly, you can just use sigils instead! Sigils are easy to make and because they're a discreet form of magic, you can put them just about anywhere and come up with an excuse if anyone asks about them. You can also create your own chants and say them to yourself or in your head.
3. Book of Shadows/Grimoire
If you can't keep a book of shadows/grimoire that'll make your craft obvious, you can create a books of shaows/grimoire online! You can also use a regular notebook and hide it in a place only you can find it. This work especially if you speak more than one language or can create your own language.
4. Divination
Can't own any tarot cards or practice divination out in the open? You can use substitute regular playing cards for tarot/oracle cards, or you can other discreet forms of divination, such as biblomancy (finding answers in books).
5. Research
If you're in the broom closet and you're worried about owning physical books on witchcraft, you can download e-books straight from the web! There's a ton of websites that allow you to download e-books about witchcraft for free, and there's also websites with articles about witchcraft as well.
6. Devotional Acts
Do you work with deities/entities but need to be discreet about it? Devotional acts will be your best friend. Participating in certain activities that correspond with the deities/entities you work with can help you form a closer bond with them while keeping your craft on the down low.
Tumblr media
Thank you for taking the time to read this post! Once again, please take the time to do your own research and please put your safety first!! Your well-being is more important than your craft!! I'll be leaving the comments/reblogs open, so please feel free to add/expand on anything I may have missed!

Hi there, do you have any tips/advice for young women who are starting to explore witchcraft/wicca?
Everyone is going to tell you to read everything you can get your hands on, but the single most useful book I own is an encyclopedia type book about the metaphysical properties of herbs and plants, many of which you can get in a grocery store (I found the book in a free box too). When I first built my altar, it was basically bare except for some candles and a little incense dish where I burned herbs. When you have a solid understanding of herbs and start building your collection, you can do a lot. You can use them in almost any spell as long as you have the right ones. If you have a collection of fifteen different herbs, you could probably do almost any spell that you might need for everyday life.
I’ve also found that spells that I craft myself are far more powerful. Familiarize yourself with the components. I mentioned herbs but there’s also the phases of the moon, the best day of the week for a certain spell, color correspondences for candles (you can make up your own—you do not need to follow someone else’s), and the actual writing of the spell (if you have ever been good at writing poetry it comes fairly naturally. I do like mine to rhyme but they don’t have to.) There are a lot of spell books out there but I’ve gotten to the point that I don’t use mine anymore because I feel that a spell that only I have used is more powerful than something widely published and used by many.
Shadow work, to become comfortable of the aspects of yourself or your past that are hard to accept. Shadow work could be journaling (lots of prompts online specifically for this purpose) or even just therapy if you’re into that. I think a lot of us turn to witchcraft as a way to heal as well as to affect our surroundings. So heal! Tarot cards are good for this too as they can make us examine different aspects of our life, or make us see a situation differently.
Keep detailed records of your spells so you can reference them later. I’ve actually found that a binder works great for a grimoire because you can move pages around, take them in and out, etc. For me it was difficult to use a big leather book because I was scared of messing up, didn’t know how many pages to allocate to each section, etc. I still make my pages aesthetically pleasing and if you don’t want to hole punch them you can always slide them into a plastic sleeve and put them in the binder that way. It’s been a game changer for me, not gonna lie. Especially as someone with ADHD, it’s been dope. Mine has a section for general information, a section for spells and rituals, and a section where I discuss the results of the spell if I feel it’s important.
Do not fall into a toxic positivity mindset or learn from those who have. The world is not “love and light” and as individual humans, neither are we. Whether we are spiritual people or not, we are driven by ego. Maybe a Buddhist monk somewhere has transcended (maybe), but we have not and never will. Witchcraft *is* about power and about manipulating our surroundings with our intent. I’m not saying you have to hex people (although you can), but when we put our intent out into the world, even if not for personal gain, it can always have unintended consequences on the universe or another individual. (As an example, if you do a job spell or a housing spell, we live in a capitalistic society—when you take that job or apartment for yourself, you are taking it from someone else.) Witchcraft generally is for personal gain, and we don’t need to pretend it’s not, because taking our power is not a negative act.
The idea that a deity has to “reach out” to you is just not true. They’re generally not going to reach out if you have done nothing to grab their attention in the first place. If you are interested in one, just go for it. I believe that each deity is simply one aspect of the divine, so just pick an aspect even, and see which deity resonates.
Hope this helps! 🕯

hi! im mae!
well, my name is actually macey... but i like to go by mae online. i don't really care if you call me either. i thought id make a little intro post given i recently created this blog (it is actually a copy of an older one, but i wanted a fresh start).
my bio states most of it, i am 21 years old, i live in the united states, i identify as female, those are pretty much the basics. i consider myself a bit of a hobby collector and a gullible hyperfixater. some of my main hobbies include but are not necessarily limited to:
photography (i adore film, but due to no access to a darkroom anymore, i am primarily digital)
reading (mainly fiction, romance, fantasy, although i do enjoy an article concerning my special interests or mental health)
music (i play guitar, uke, and bass, as well as write my own music and lyrics, im a subpar vocalist though)
music listener (i am very passionate about the music i listen to, if it has resonating lyrics, i will listen to it, some of my favorite artists are mcr, coldplay, billie eilish (altho i think shes been a little iffy lately), eminem, $uicideboy$, brand new, and lana del rey)
crochet (mainly clothing, bags, and plushies)
doodling (i used to want to pursue art career wise, however was very burnt out and scarred by art teachers in high school and decided i couldn't use that for grades or income)
journaling (this is my most recent hobby picked up, however I've stuck with it decently strictly for over a month now and i am adoring it)
cd collecting (this is a passive hobby for me due to costs of CDs and a general life on spotify, however i do love collecting my favorite albums)
tarot and crystals (this is another passive hobby for me. i do not consistently practice tarot nor crystal meditation, however, if given the time and inspiration i will practice them. i wish i was more consistent, but i find these two to be moderately daunting)
I am currently pursuing an ASD diagnosis and am working with a clinic and insurance on finalizing testing, if anyone has gone through this process you know just how exhausting it is. I am diagnosed with ADHD. I believe these two things to be the driving forces in why i am the way i am and if not who i am. i strongly dislike statements such as "you are not your diagnosis" or "its just in your head." i am my diagnosis. it affects all aspects of my life. invalidating or denying that is invalidating me and ignoring a majority of my life and struggles. regardless, i may update here on how that whole process is going, tips i learn along the way, or further revelations that may occur during said process.
that being said i am a huge fidget toy enthusiast and am always looking for new fidget recommendations, i adore tangles, and these little edamame poppers, but id like to have more one-handed quiet fidgets.
some of my special interests are:
mental health and some disorders, i generally love learning how our brains work, both neurotypically and neuro-divergently
currently journaling its my main special interest and i adore looking for new spreads (ik a hobby sh)
crocheting (ik another hobby)
whales and whale sharks!!
collecting things, such as yarn, books, stickers, games, candles, skincare, and makeup (ngl most of it is purely collection)
japanese culture and foooooood
the northern lights
lake superior (i have always loved her and spent a year living a 15min walk from her)
i am a university student as well as working part-time, so the amount of activity on this page may not be consistent, as i already have an ever-changing life with variability in intensity from week to week.
i finally think that is all. if any of this resonates with you, maybe consider following! id love to have you as a mutual if we are alike, and i definitely do not consider myself someone to have many friends, i certainly do not have a best friend, so i am always open to chatting with new people :)

Ask meme: character edition! For Juni, Pearl, and Loch! Background, Secret, and End!
Background: Does your PC get up to anything that you don't narrate often? Any background habits, activities, plots? Do you share these through other avenues (e.g. a group chat, table cross-talk, posting online)?
Juni: Definitely - they are always doing something in my mind. A lot of quiet drawing in the background of scenes, a lot of cooking or reading cookbooks, a lot of restless tidying and organizing. I think when she was living at home, she was much more often relaxed and not feeling this restlessness and need to be Doing Things, but living in the wizard tower has brought out that compulsion in them. Pearl: I don't bring it up super often in sessions but Pearl has teacher's pet/star student syndrome, which means she is BANGING OUT color-coded class notes any time they are sitting in class or studying while at Strixhaven. Since her mane grew in after getting a belt of dwarvenkind, I think she also runs her claws through it/fidgets with it a lot, sometimes making messy lil braids too. Loch: This man is OBSERVING. CONSTANTLY. I might not mention it often but if he's in a scene you've gotta assume he is watching the fuck out of people, gathering intel and storing it away, trying to put together the puzzle pieces of people and relationships around him. He's also fiddling with his deck of tarot cards a lot, even outside of combat where he uses it as his spellcasting focus.
Secret: Is there anything that you know about your character but your character doesn't know? What is it? How did you come up with this secret?
Juni: I know that they're fucking STRESSED meanwhile they REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS!!! Otherwise, I don't really have any secrets I'm keeping from Jun about THEMSELVES; there's some things about other characters that I know while she doesn't, but that's different. Pearl: Previously, it would be yes, and it would be that her father is Nobanion, a beast god from the upper planes, but she discovered that during the campaign! Proud of her. Now she's pretty much an open book. For the moment...;) Loch: There's some things I know, but actually a lot of the stuff he's investigating are things I only have vague knowledge of because I'm leaving details up to Jill to taunt me with. >:3 I know someeee info about a specific person he's searching for but mostly we are both playing a little whodunnit side game within the campaign.
End: What's the ideal ending for your character's story and the game? Are these the same, or different?
Juni: I want her to find self confidence, inner peace, and her uncle! Also maybe a romantic partner! Being adored might fix her! Pearl: She deserves to find her own ways of impacting the world, to come out from the shadow of her older sisters, and also to continue having two very anxious partners that she can pepper with kisses and soothing words until they become less anxious. Long Live The Pearlycule. Loch: For him to find what he's looking for and get closure. Even if it's not the closure he thought he was seeking.

Hello! I go by chuchi, I'm new in studying about witchcraft so... I'm a baby witch? But I'm still not committed to it as much since I cannot get proper tools (herbs, crystals, and such) and I'm still living with my family. So I only read about stuff instead of actually doing them.
I'm wondering if there's good free tarot card books I can download online that you can recommend because I do not have money to buy a physical copy hehe. Oh, and I bought a tarot card since my family don't mind about it.
Oh and any advices? Would pretty much appreciate it <33

keep in mind, I know nothing at all about this guy and I've never even watched him act (I had to search his name online)
ace of cups - he has never dated them before, probably younger than him too. this person has childlike energy, they're positive and influential in a very cute and lighthearted way. this may be a person that works with children, teenagers or babies, if they're also an entertainer, may be the type of art they interact with, like teen movies, comedy, ya books, fantasy, things like that. this is probably someone on the smaller side, they may be very feminine in their look, curvy, not too thin, not too big (whatever that looks like for him). they're probably a celebrity, and a big one, at least where he lives.
4 of cups reversed - an extrovert for sure, someone on the more natural side, not very flashy, gets along with everyone but doesn't let their own standards or morals go away with ease. they don't change for hollywood or anyone, minimal to none plastic surgery. he doesn't like those that a night lifestyle (partying, casual sex, etc), this person may be sober and have some sort of celibacy. this is someone more impulsive, but not in a harmful or dangerous way, it's more cute and funny, harmless indeed, it's just a quirky personality trait. may be a manic pixie dream character or type of person.
4 of wands - someone that hits close to home for him, like lives in his country, in his town, maybe someone he meets through family and/or friends, maybe a family friend, even. they'll get married quickly, he'll immediately see them as a future partner and will waste no time. they may meet in some sort of celebration, a wedding, even, or work event they both have to attend. they'll become friends, immediately getting along, it'll be easy as if they're meant to be. this person is a family person, through and through, may have many pets and younger siblings.
5 of wands reversed - may be someone he works with, they'll be friends with his friends and they'll easily share the same opinions and goals, things will just easily fall into place. he may think it's too good to be true, but this person will be so real with him, it's not a worry that'll stay for long. this is someone who loves people, very grounded, a community person, charismatic, giving, helpful, knowledgeable (may know different languages or skills).

hi i was reading the post about the book! and i was wondering do you recommend or know any books about divination? or maybe books that are open to male witches?
i honestly only do divination (tarot, oracle cards, pendulums, runes, etc) and some sigils or charms here and there so most of the beginners books have a lot of spells and things that i just dont practice?
and also im trans and sometimes books assume the reader goes by she/her pronouns? and it can be a bit difficult to read through those being constantly misgendered
srry if this ask is out of place pls ignore it (english isnt my first language)
Oh boy get ready for a long answer, my friend~
As for book requests, if you're looking for info on divination but want to avoid books that are filled with spells and such, you have a few options:
Look past the spells, don't feel pressure to do spells just cuz there are spells in your books. Practice your magic however you like <: Btw, if not wanting to spend money on books that you'll only read parts of is the issue then I highly suggest checking out online libraries or popping over to your local library!
Look online. There are dozens of great sources for learning divination online that don't even require reading books. I honestly learned most of my divination from online sources as well as leaning on my intuition.
Book rec: As far as tarot, I love the book Tarot: Connect With Yourself, Develop Your Intuition, Live Mindfully by Tina Gong!
Oracle cards are a bit easier because they come with their own booklet most of the time. If you want to try connecting with your cards and you have the energy to do so, go through your deck and give the oracle cards their meanings based on your personal correspondence.
As for runes and pendulums, I don't practice these so I can't really say. Though I'm sure there are online resources for these as well that are just as good!
If anyone has any book recs on these topics that don't include a bunch of spells and such then please add them in a reblog or comment for our anon!! <3
Onto the second part of your message:
I'm also trans (he/him) as are most of my friends who practice witchcraft and almost none of them use she/her pronouns. So basically, I feel you, bro.
Any book written for witches, regardless of the pronouns the author assigns to the reader, should be open to male witches as well. There may be a scant few that are strictly for women but those are likely ones you wanna stay away from anyways (they can be TERFy sometimes).
The best books, in my opinion, don't assign the reader a gender. Those that do are still fine to read, you may just have to push past them and understand that the author is probably using those pronouns as a reflection of themselves; they are the ones writing the book after all. So know that they are not trying to misgender you, they are likely projecting their own experiences onto the reader. Your concern is still valid, obviously, it gets incredibly tiring to always see witchy or magical stuff marketed solely toward women. (,:
This is something the witchy community seems to be working on, though, as the recent books I've read don't add gender into the book or they bounce around with pronouns which is still a step in the right direction!

Howdy! 🤠 I’m a big fan of your work have a few questions about TSN and CAAG:
1. While these characters are already fleshed out and have established personalities, do you take any creative liberties from those around you or perhaps your own characteristics when writing them?
2. Are there any traditional and/or fanfiction authors that inspire your passion or writing style?
3. As a reader, do you prefer one-shots or multi-chapter fics? Or does it depend on your mood?
4. Choose: tooth-rotting fluff or merciless angst? Why?
5. Challenge! One-sentence summaries of TSN and CAAG that would confuse non-readers?
Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us! ❤️
Well howdy there! Thank you kindly for this lovely ask ☺️
1. I do take some creative liberties, for sure! For instance, I tried to keep Enid’s mom somewhat realistic with her passive aggressive remarks by drawing from real experiences that either I have had or people I know have described dealing with people in their lives so that she didn’t become untethered from reality like the Evil Mother Character of Media Past. I do also include my own ways of thinking about things and little details about my life that I feel like I could convincingly describe (for instance, having a house filled with odd taxidermy and preserved framed insect specimens, or my interest in tarot cards). We write what we know, right?
The storyline around online fan culture and digital footprints is also based on my own personal wariness of the internet, and my academic interest in the subject, so those are also sort of drawn from my life! Mostly I would say that Wednesday’s internal characterisation draws the most from how I experience the world in terms of filling in the gaps from what we see in canon and how characters needed to be fleshed out for the story 🔮
2. Hmm fanfiction wise, my favourite fanfic I have ever read is by an ao3 author named sablesheep, its a beautiful long-form multi-chapter fic with a lot of original worldbuilding within the scope of the canon, and a lot of characterisation work for some figures from the series that didn’t get a lot of direct description. So I have always been super inspired by the idea that fanfics can take the story from the canon and expand it into this whole new universe where the characters stay recognizable but are changed by the setting and story in their own (believable) way!
In terms of Wenclair fics I appreciated while writing CAAG and TSN, I enjoyed ao3 authors lucozaddy (especially for their excellent characterisation work), overnights (love the writing and story), and Eggplant_Crusader also has a beautiful writing style! And we can’t forget @adorasbuttcheek who has an amazing collection of Wenclair fics of various lengths and prompts 🤟
For non-fanwork authors I am inspired by, I feel like Lemony Snicket was a big influence when I first started writing. More recently, I have been totally inspired by the writing style of Jen Beagin in her book Big Swiss. Funnily enough I don’t actually read much fiction, but I found Big Swiss to be totally captivating and refreshingly weird. Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado is also a fiction piece I find myself thinking about a lot!
3. As a fanfic reader, I prefer extremely long multi-chapter fics. I have definitely been known to enjoy a good one-shot or shorter piece, though! But, I am a bit of a media escapist, so my general preference are the types of stories that let me continue living in the little world of that series or book or whatnot for as long as possible at a time!
4. Merciless angst, all the way. I like stories that draw blood and then kiss it better 🤭 so some fluff to break through the heaviness usually feels like a strong writing choice to keep the tone varied, but I prefer angst overall because I find it lends itself to plot a bit more than pure fluff. That’s not to say that fluff can’t have plot, but in terms of its function in fanfiction I tend to prefer plot-driven things overall because I like playing the long game 😈
5. Okay, challenge accepted 💪
CAAG: Enid’s face card never declines (am I supposed to know what that means?)
TSN: Penguins might be evil, but they have nothing on Reddit.
BONUS TSN: Hit the breaks, Enid. No, the breaks. ENID—
