"Hey, look at this creepy illustration in this old book" (Jean-Michel Nicollet, from "Draw Me a Monster," an abominable library setting and mini-scenario for Call of Cthulhu, in Casus Belli 34, autumn 1986)

Machete could never be anonymous he's so uniquely pointy. Like for real no one else is drawing dogs like him. His snout looks like it came from a gargoyle of some kind and not Generic Dog Artist #7 and i mean this in a very very positive way. He's really distinct and that's a big part of why I like him so much
Aaaa shucks, thank you! ;_; It means a lot to me to hear that.

Saw the Inktober Prompt for Day 1 (Gargoyle) and immediately thought of my boy, Bartimaeus. Made this, even if it’s completely out of my usual comfort zone in terms of lineart, since i wanted to keep with the spirits of Inktober. Probably not gonna do any of the other days, because life is too stressful but still.
Bart!

this is partially related to my last rb but just like op i will never stop thinking about jason todd being a teenager when he comes back to gotham as the red hood. there is something so comedic about jason being like nineteen when he comes back to his home city because a good portion of the conflict between him and the batfamily can also take on this added dynamic of a teenager growing up and struggling to figure out his independence and his identity while not wanting to cut ties entirely to the people who raised him.
…and then there’s the comedy of dick “i can be my OWN hero in my OWN city fuck YOU dad” grayson noticing that aspect of it first. like “sure he cut off some drug lords’ heads once but bruce, i followed him to a rooftop after you two had your argument and he started blasting ribs by lorde and then perfect places by lorde and then the archer by taylor swift and i think he has a spotify account. i asked him for his username and he decked me but still. bruce. bruce i checked his netflix account and he’s watched the mitchells versus the machines three times in four days can you Please apologize. bruce i bumped into him at the supermarket and he got his ears pierced is it to spite you or is he leaning into the punk look. bruce he “borrowed” your credit card and charged a tattoo and fourteen new books to it and i think stephanie was over at his place yesterday teaching him about how to make a book haul tiktok do you want his username it’s actually really funny” give me jason todd being stuck between kid and grownup it makes EVERYTHING funnier

I have been re-reading Martha Wells' Books of the Raksura for comfort reasons and with the perspective of another half-decade since I first read them, may I present a proposition: these books are to Stargate Atlantis as Shards of Honor in the Vorkosigan series is to Star Trek, to wit, it's nothing like as simple or boring as "filed off serial number fanfic" but the underlying vibes are very, very real

Gargoyles Needs Our Help!
There is currently a Kickstarter for reprints of the Marvel and SLG comics (as well as some other goodies), and though it has blown its target goal out of the water, we need to send a strong message to Disney that people love this property and want to see more of it.
To help, we need to run up the backer numbers on the KS! If you were on the fence about backing, consider getting the TPs, or if you don't want anything, consider backing without a reward. You can donate $1 and it would still count towards the number of backers!
Don't wait, don't sit on the sidelines and hope these get published later. If you can afford it, please vote with your wallet and back the KS. Let's tell Disney loud and clear that Gargoyles is still a viable property!
