Map of Six Duchies (The Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb) — b/w clean vector version and charcoal edition with some color accents. 2021 year. Personal project.
I recently did a reread of In Other Lands by @sarahreesbrennan and got really inspired so I decided to attempt to draw up a map based on the book! I tried to take as much as I could from the book and include it in the map, but it doesn’t clarify a lot about how things are located in relation to each other so I had to make up my own interpretation. With that said, this is how I envision The Border Land and The Other Land in the book and I’m pretty happy with how it came out!
For a closer look at some places where events from the book happen, keep reading!
The Wall/Border and the Human World (Aka any random field in Devon, England.
The Border Camp where most of the book takes place and the surrounding areas, including the infamous lake, the nearby farming community and The Elvern Tavern.
The Sunborn Tower, home of Luke Sunborn and his family!
The Forest of the Suicides, where the harpies reside, and the nearby Troll caves.
The Aegle Woods, where dryads live and also where Elliot went (sneaked) on his first campaign.
The village and lake where Elliot first met mermaids(!!!).
The area from the new short story, including the two fortresses and the Dwarven Kingdom of the Diamond Clan!
Just out of curiosity, If I decided to post my combination of every map of Narnia and Adjoining Lands + the Eastern Sea, how many people would be interested in seeing it, because I would like to share it because I have spent a lot of time on it. It is not yet finished and won’t be for a few months but when it is…
Ban crayons and they'll find something different 🤷♂️ book info below!
Do you like book maps?
I adore them! Something about them adds to the worldbuilding and makes it even more 👌
Of course, I had to commission cartographybird on instagram for my sequel's map! Because, let's be honest, when you have that many rebels fighting in a world like the 100, you've got to keep track of them. Didn't she do amazing??
Praise for the series:

Sooooo, Russian edition of Babel: An Arcane History by R.F. Kuang is almost here, and I've made maps for endpaper of this book. More about this project on my behance.
Color tests:
This was my first attempt with such plans, so I heavily used map of Oxford by Spencer Hoffman (1929) in many aspect, and Google Earth 3D for understanding how historical building is looks like. Some of my references and inspirations:
I've made a couple maps for my 2nd book, Child of the Forest ^_^ They are the same map but showing different information. This first one shows the 8 provinces of Manena and their capital cities.
This second one shows the traditional route for Brothers and Sisters going on Tour and Pilgrimage to all 8 Order Keeps, the route Hemi decides they should take instead, and the detours they have to make along the way or will have to make in the future.
If you notice there are two towns not on the top map because they are two towns they detour to. Riverton because Vivia gets cranky and Neoma convinces Hemi to let them spend one night not on the road and Riverton because of an emergency.
Child of the Forest only covers their trip from Cape Eastcliff, to Crater Port, Westshore and then Starkeep. Child of the Sun will have Nightwood and beyond!
