okay, i recently made a post about why i'm okay with the knight of dawn's design, and just now i made an addition to it that got me thinking about how like... people say that lilia may just think of the knight of dawn looking identical to silver in his dream because it's been hundreds of years so he can't actually remember his exact appearance, but the knight of dawn was a famous and respected knight who dueled against briar valley's queen and married into royalty, so is he not an important historical figure? are there not pictures and/or paintings of him that lilia may have seen, especially considering that one of NRC's own history books apparently has a picture of lilia himself in it (malleus mentions this in one of his lesson lines)?

but then i remembered this dialogue from book 7 and now i'm losing my mind thinking about what all of this is supposed to mean. like, okay, i guess some of this could have something to do with the desire to hide silver's parentage from him as well as just reluctance to talk about the tragedies that occurred in lilia and baul's pasts, but can that really be the entire reason behind this? behind silver and sebek, who are from briar valley, knowing so little about its history and its royal family, and there seemingly being so few books about it, and NRC just not teaching about/having any information about the history of such an important place? and also, if it's the case that so little is known or taught about briar valley, then how or why is there a picture of lilia in one of the history books they use in class? lilia himself was also the one to point out in the story that history often gets told differently across different cultures and can easily become twisted from the truth, and now i have to wonder if briar valley's history is being deliberately twisted or obscured. and also if crowley has something to do with that considering all of the theories surrounding him being malleus's mysterious missing father.

it was really funny in canto iv when I was looking at the credits and then went “demian?? but he wasn’t in this canto” and then boom post-credits jumpscare but it was even funnier when it happened AGAIN in canto vi that he showed up in the credits but not in the actual story so instead of being surprised it was an “oh you little shit are you really doing this a second time” moment

I’m not really a fan of the very likely Crowley= Levan theory but that’s just personal opinion, I’ve never liked the whole ‘Surprise! I’m your parent’ cliche. However, Sleeping Beauty isn’t the only twst adapted Disney movie with a raven so they still have the option to do something really funny. It’d change my opinion on the trope forever if they wrap up book 7 by revealing that Crowley was actually Vil’s mother.

Acotar HOT TAKE. Bc prythian is like recoloured Great Britain I present to you all LORE ACCURATE/ AREA ACCURATE ACCENTS!!!

Feyre: London/Cockney Dialect

the mortal lands are literally on the bottom and kinda where Feyres village is on the map SO SHED HAVE A VERY ENGLISH ACCENT. It’d be thick and she’d use alot of slang.

Nests and Elain: London BUT THE POSHER KIND.

Because they were richer? for longer? I think they’d have that Rosamund pike sound, but it’s still abit cockney because of their time in the smaller village.

TAMLIN: WELSH OR BRUMMY.

THE SPRING COURT, STRETCHES ALL ACTOSS THE MIDLANDS WHICH INCLUDES WAYELS!! He’d be Welsh!! Mid Welsh.

Or! Because he sucks so bad and the spring court stretches along that whole point if we imagine him being somewhere in the middle of it all, he’d be a brummy.

LUCIEN: South Yorkshire accent

It’s abit of a stretch but the idea of a Yorkshire accent on Lucien is very funny and I’m well into it. It’s kinda where the autumn court is on the map.

RHYSAND: Scottish / Inverness Scottish

The whOLE OF THE NIGHT COURT. IS IN SCOTLAND. HOW CAN YOU TELL ME, THAT HE IS NOT ScotTISH!!

HYBERN: Ireland

Do I really have to explain myself it’s Ireland.

Anyway here’s the reference I used to figure out the accent locations I’m here to advocate for British Acotar and if the series comes out and they’re American I’m rioting.
