† Było ekstra! Muzyka na żywo, karaoke, kolorowe ledy, krakersy i wino dla wszystkich, tylko repertuar bym zmieniła. A tak serio to było sympatycznie. ;) Megaotwarci, pomocni i przyjaźni ludzie! We wtorek idę na grupę.

» Dwa nowe nabytki, tego Sosnowca nie mogłam sobie odmówić. M4 zresztą też, mimo że taki lichy ten długopis xD A z książkami obiecuję, że to koniec. Wystarczy mi na 3 najbliższe lata. :D

» Wagowo przytyłam 2 kg. Albo bardziej prawdopodobne to kwestia tego, że ważyłam się na dwóch różnych wagach, bo wymiary takie same. Wciąż takie same xD Trochę smutno, że w coś się jednak wkłada wysiłek a to nie działa. Ale nie spędza mi to snu z powiek, póki jestem ze swojej figury i tak zadowolona. Poza tym brzuch coraz ładniej się rzeźbi, muszę tylko pozbyć się jeszcze tego nadmiaru tkanki tłuszczowej. W domu zaczęłam ćwiczyć w samym staniku sportowym i leginsach oraz polubiłam się z crop topami.

» Rezygnuję z kick-boxingu, bo nie wyrobię z hajsem na wahę, hajsem na zajęcia, poza tym i tak w soboty, gdy odbywają się zajęcia mam inne aktywności. Od nowego roku rozważam Krav-magę, bo bliżej mi do tego niż kick-boxingu (choć było super).

Dates Read: 07/27/23 - 07/31/23

“A dragon without its rider is a tragedy. A rider without their dragon is dead.” • This will probably be one of my top reads of the year, and I’m upset with myself for not picking it up sooner! I loved it so much, I finished my library ebook then went out to buy a copy because I had to own it. This book tapped into a reading frenzy that I haven’t experienced in some years.

Violet Sorrengail was meant to join the scribe quadrant of Basgiath War College, but her general mother forces her to become a rider despite her weakness. I found her to be such a determined, fierce, and funny MC. I love when a character’s observations can make me laugh, and her dynamic with Tairn and Andarna had me cracking up. The dragons by far were my favorite part of this book—their ruthlessness, their humor, and specific powers were captivating. However, mysterious shadow master Xaden Riorson was a close second.

Everything about him was intriguing from their very first interaction. The enemies to lovers trope is alive and well, friends. It’s so intriguing how all actions and motivations can be viewed through a different lens after that ending.

In the sequel, I hope we learn a bit more about the political landscape and the true stakes. I’m looking forward to a touch more character depth now that secrets have been revealed. And hoping for more POVs! 🤞🏼🐉 • E’s rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

July 4th Bookhaul volume 2: BMV

Within Toronto there are three BMV locations. BMV is a cross between a used bookstore and a chain (Chapters/Indigo for my fellow Canadians). This specific one consists of three floors. First floor is Literature, mystery/pop lit and horror. Second is all the non fiction categories and children/ya. Final floor is Comics, Fantasy and Sci-Fi.

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

“It’s just the kind of story that catches fire.” • I absolutely devoured The Hunger Games trilogy when I was in high school. So when this prequel was released with Snow as the protagonist, I was a little skeptical. Then the film was announced and I decided it was time to finally read it. But life got in the way (as it does) and it slipped further down my TBR, until now!

Being in Snow’s head for so long was as challenging as I thought it was going to be. He is one of those rare characters that you love to loathe. I think that’s why it took me a while to get through this book—or it at least felt that way. In the end, it was easy to see how he developed into the infamous, ruthless, power-hungry president Katniss took on.

In addition to the swamp potato, there are so many brilliant callbacks to the original series. No shortage of parallels and foreshadowing that put me right back in the mentality of my teenage self. I can’t wait to finally see the film adaptation! Maybe I’ll even bring back the iconic side braid. • E’s rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

- loving Dave Grohl's audio book, probably going to jam out to the Foo Fighters at work tonight. Has me wanting to pick up my guitar 🎸
