A tutorial for making an origami heart, something that I do not remember ever learning how to make and simply believe I was born knowing how to do.
The pocket on the back of the heart can be hooked onto the corner of a page in a book, so you can use it as a bookmark.
Little freak paper by me!

Today was a good day. I feel like it was in the true spirit of what ai said in one of my last post of having a chill hobbit summer, enjoy everyday things day to day. I started my day very slowly by drinking my tea and reading a bit, and then I went in my garden to water the plants and I just sat there a while looking at the bees around my lavender and it gave me a feeling of internal peace I really needed. I think I'll start doing that more often. I also worked on my garden, enjoyed the sun on my balcony before it turned way to hot to even think. In the afternoon I went to buy suppliest to repaint my bedroom. I won't be changing the colour because it would take way more work, but it's a nice lilac shade it's not too bad. I have never done this myself but I asked my dad if he could teach me, because I like learing this kind of skills. I am actually pretty excited to do this.
Chill hobbit summer activities of today (I am embracing the labeI randomly created and using this for my productivity and self care in the next couple of months):
Read first thing in the morning as I drank my tea
Watered the plants in my garden and did some working too (I cleaned up some weeds that grw around my berries and we decided to cut down another plant that was getting too big and was also a bit sick)
Sat in the garden and looked at the bees for a while
Continued crocheting my picnic blanket while enjoying the weather on my balcony

How does one make a book mark, I too am now interested in making a Neil Gaiman bookmark
I’m glad you asked.
Step 1: Pick an image and print it out. You’ll need to make it so that the image only takes up a small portion of the page otherwise when it prints it will be too big (I use Canva to do this). Also, if the image has a background, it’s best to erase that and print it on a plain white background. You can erase it on digital drawing apps or really any editing app.
Step 2: Once you’ve printed your image, cut out Neil, very carefully. If you behead Neil Gaiman, there won’t be a Season 3 of Good Omens.
The following steps are for if you would like to laminate him and do not have a machine to do so, like me.
Step 3: Get packaging tape or any other transparent tape that is wide enough to cover Neil Gaiman. Cut a piece that is long enough to cover the height of him and place it on a flat surface, with the sticky side of the tape facing up.
Step 4: Place Neil down on the sticky side of the tape. You want it to be smooth so it is best to put down one end and then slowly smooth down the length of your cutout.
Step 5: Cut off another piece of tape that is around the same length as the first one. Try to line it up as best as you can, with the sticky side facing down. Smooth it out as you place it, as you did with Neil, otherwise you will get bubbles or crinkles in your bookmark.
Step 6: Trim off any excess tape. I like to leave a small space of tape on the edges because it looks nicer and will be more waterproof, tear proof, etc.
Step 7: Put him in the book and either suffocate him between the pages or leave his face peaking out the top of the book so he can watch your every move. (I suggest you don’t suffocate him as he is a national treasure.)
Also! This can work for making stickers as well if you put the first piece of tape facing down on a piece of parchment paper.

Ayoooo komaegi week may be over but I wanted to close it off with these free printable bookmarks I made awhile back!
The link below will take ya to a google drive with the pdf and instructions! There's two version you can print: one with the cut out lines for the inside of Makoto's bookmark and one without. It just depends how much cutting you want to do.
I also wanna give a big thank you to @substantive-eclectica, @austajunk, @lizaxcxsblog, and @chirpos-pencil who all made such amazing art for the week and brighten up my days immensely! And a big thank you to @komaegis who so nicely co-hosted the event to make it possible! 🥰 Here's to another finished ship week! 🍀

Book jewelry!
Tumblr media
My daughter@winifredrose made these bookmarks for my Sarah J Mass, A Court Of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) set! Each one has things to do with the characters and other things found in the books.
They make my bookshelf look extra pretty.
Tumblr media
The best part about it was the time sitting at the table together, putting our heads together, going through all of the findings she gathered for this project. I don't make jewelry, so I watched her as she worked on them and picked up some tips along the way.
Tumblr media
I love spending time with my (adult) daughters, especially when art and crafts are involved.
Thank you for spoiling me, Dawn!

Also picked up my bookmarks order yesterday! Ft. Sora and Riku and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet designs.
The Sora/Riku designs were originally going to be available last year but I May have accidentally left the design off the pdf I sent to the printers.... but it worked out in the end, cause originally I was going to make them one double sided bookmark, but I think they work better as individual bookmarks.
Especially now that, as you can probably see, I've started adding ribbons to them too! I'd been mean to for a while, but I ran out of time to do it for my last con, and didn't want to bother otherwise, but this time I finally had the time to actually order a pack of assorted ribbons and a fancy hole punch to attach them all.
Here's the existing designs I've done as well:
Tumblr media
They turned out quite nice, esp after I discovered they do in fact make square/rectangular hole punches, which do look Very Nice with the hard rectangular look of them. Makes it look like an actual intentional design choice and not me just being to lazy to figure out how to do rounded corners lol
(I do also have a couple standard round hole natsuyuu bookmarks I did as a test, one of which I (accidentally) included in the photo above so you can see the difference)
Will have these at Wellington Armageddon, and then on my shop later.
