ADHD AWARENESS MONTH QUOTE 12 OF 12
Wednesday, October 25, 2023
Support is the number one thing when it comes to fighting a mental illness. And the ones who have walked in the same shoes as you are the very best support system. There is no stigma in this group. There is no judging. We aren’t here to judge. We are here to understand and to let you know you aren’t alone in whatever battle you are facing. And that is why we started this group called You Matter. –…

🥰🥰🥰 Yesterday I woke up to receive three boxes of books on my doorstep and we spent a few fun hours signing each book one by one in pajamas x our friends behind Magick.com ✓
These signed copies are blessed and charged with magic for all and each one of the beautiful readers waiting for them.
Note Aside // Thank You for sharing and sending me photos of your books arriving everywhere 😍🥰❤️
YOU'RE MY REASON 🖋️
PS: DREAM WITCHERY is available now and not just in virtual bookstores such as Magick.com. AMZN. Indiebound. BookShopOrg. And B&N between many many others. But also is arriving right now in multiple physical bookstores and shops everywhere.
Stay wild, safe and kind.
Be nice with everybody and be nicest with Yourself.

Changes in the Schedule
As one would expect, events for the paperback release of LIGHT FROM OTHER STARS are cancelling or moving online. I'm updating my appearances info as often as possible.
It’s difficult to process all the feelings one has around this. This is a pandemic. Obviously we stay at home and do everything we can for those who *can’t* stay at home. Not touring is the smallest sacrifice. It’s a bummer, truly. But. Bookstores being closed, typical media outlets running nothing but virus-related content, the lack of venues--it’s not just axiety making. It marks the end of careers for many in the book world and many in the writing world.
But not cancelling isn’t a question.
I’m not immune to the anxiety. It’s difficult to hold all these feelings. The non-writing work around writing has increased tenfold. That’s trying to reschedule things, trying to find other writers to band together with to form book groups, trying to find book clubs to talk to, podcasts, finding ways to support closed bookstores, searching for grants and funds to tide us over, raising funds for those in distress, bailing each other out, and then, *then* maybe trying to write. The unseen labor around books is enormous, and everyone is taking a hit at the moment.
In the meantime: I promise you will *still* need reading material on May 5th. I would ask that you pre-order through bookshop.org.
This the independent bookstore’s answer to that site.
Bookshop.org directly benefits independent bookstores. These shops are being heavily impacted by the pandemic and closures. These are places that host authors like me, places that make community. They're not an algorithm. If you're looking for small ways to be kind to communities, order from here rather than that big internet-based place with a bajllionaire owner.
Bonus: If you send proof of your order from bookshop.org to erikaswylerwrites[at]gmail, I'll send you a signed bookplate and a note. I’ve been using sparkly tape to seal the notes too. I’m ~crafty~
And now. Now I must try to sit down and generate words.

Ever heard of Bookshop.org?
Tumblr media
Greetings loves! I wanted to let you all know that if you are searching for a website that sells books and isn’t Amazon, you can look no further than Bookshop.org! Visiting this wonderful website is a great way to not only support authors, but also local book stores nation-wide. And you shouldn’t just take my word for it. Go to Bookshop.org right now and help support independent book stores during this difficult time.
But wait, there’s more! Not only do I personally love this website, but I am also a Bookshop Affiliate, which means I run a virtual “shop” where you can peruse my lists of books that are available on Bookshop.org. And if you purchase any books through my Affiliate shop, SallyIsABookLover, I will earn a 10% commission from the purchase! (Because let’s be honest, these are real shitty times and most of us are looking for ways to make a quick buck to survive, so why not do it selling something you love more than life itself?) So if you’re at all interested in that, and want to see what I’ve got on my shelves, just click the link below and peruse to your heart’s content:
https://bookshop.org/shop/sallyisabooklover
So next time you think about buying a book on Amazon, DON’T! Bookshop.org has all the books you could ever want and you can purchase as many as you like without feeling lazy or morally compromised. Believe me, I know it’s hard these days not to go straight to Amazon for what you need, but consider that there are other, better places out there on the Interwebs that have the best interests of struggling businesses at heart, and you can start by helping Bookshop.org support them. Because who wants to live in a world where quaint, dimly-lit little bookshops on corner streets don’t exist? Make it so that indie book shop employees everywhere don’t have to risk their health every day just to keep their businesses running and check out Bookshop.org right now!
And here are some extra sources that sing Bookshop.org’s praises way better than I can:

ADHD AWARENESS MONTH QUOTE 10 OF 12
Wednesday, October 25, 2023
You have to take a leap of faith and believe that living an authentic life of personal power and pride is more important than the fear and pain that have been holding you back. – Sari Solden, A Radical Guide for Women with ADHD: Embrace Neurodiversity, Live Boldly, and Break Through Barriers
