Beloved is a masterpiece 💎. I’m my opinion it’s really something different. I just love how the book is written in flashbacks.

The book works brilliantly with it characters and the story is so well made. I think that I won’t be the only one when I say this is one of my top 10 reads of all time.

Q: What is one of your top 10 reads? Please let me know. 😄

When you want to read beloved, then you will always get some fresh and interesting inputs from the book. On every page there is something new to discover, you won’t regret it. 😁

Don’t Look For Me by Wendy Walker Book Review

Don’t Look For Me by Wendy Walker Book Review

“Where there is love, there cannot be danger.”Excerpt FromDon’t Look for MeWendy Walker

This novel was the first one I have read from this author. I am not familiar with Wendy Walker but I decided to give it a try since this novel has been there on my shelf for a long time.

Synopsis from Amazon:

They called it a “walk away.” The car abandoned miles from home. The note found at a nearby hotel.…

The books I plan to read in March are listed below.  Only have four planned for this month but that’s because two are rather long.  Also feeling a tad cautious after a bad reading month.

1. There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins

2. Beautiful Redemption  by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

3. Silent Witness by Richard North Patterson

4. The Originals: The Loss created by Julie Plec based on The Vampire Diaries

Hello again!  This post will review the books I read this February.  I had planned to read five books (please refer to my Books I Plan to Read Post) but I only read three and another I dnf’d (did not finish).  It was not a good reading month for me.

I do have to add another rule of mine about reviews.  I will not review a book I didn’t complete.  In my opinion it’s not fair to post a review for a book that I did not complete.  Number one if I didn’t finish I clearly didn’t enjoy it but I can’t say what was wrong or right about a book I didn’t finish reading.

With that said let’s hop into the reviews.

1. Into The Darkest Corner  by Elizabeth Haynes.  This book is about a woman who meets a man who she thinks is the man of her dreams.  Their relationship begins to go downhill and none of her friends believe her.  Years later the main character is trying to build a new life which with the help of a new acquaintance is going well until her past comes back into her life.

This is the book I did not finish.  I honestly could not stand the main character.  I got 37 pages in and was just like nope….can’t do it.  I understood the character’s behavior but it made the book a very unenjoyable read for me.  I won’t discourage anyone from reading it though.  The book did have fairly favorable reviews on GoodReads so it may just not have been my cup of tea.  Since I did not finish this book I will note rate any stars to the book.

2. Beautiful Chaos by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl.  This book continues to follow the story of Ethan and Lena as they deal with the consequences of Lena’s decision from the previous book in the series.  Their town is plagued by strange and impossible events as the world seems to move closer and closer to the apocalypse.  Both the Ethan’s and Lena’s world is effected.

I did not enjoy this book as much as the previous two books in the series.  This is mostly due to personal preference.  The book did have an apocalyptic type storyline and those just aren’t my thing.  I also felt the plot wasn’t quite as tight as the previous two books and it felt to me at points that the story didn’t know where it was going.  I also felt this trope leaned heavily into tropes.  The previous books did two but they bothered me in this book.  I don’t like it when I can tell where a plot or sub-plot is going a few lines into it. I did still find the characters to be really enjoyable and I am still impressed by the authors’ ability to keep me interested and entertained for the length of the books.

My objective rating for this book is 3 stars.  I thought the characterization remained strong and the writing style flows very smoothly.  Although overall there was a clear plot I did sometimes feel the story didn’t know where it was going and a plot point seemed out of place or not needed.

My personal rating for this book is also 3 stars.  I’ll just come out and say it…I don’t like apocalypse story lines.  The moment I realized that’s what the storyline was for this book I already knew I wasn’t going to love it.  I really struggled reading this book.  I was tempted to rate this lower, however, I don’t find that fair because it is entirely based of personal interest.  This is a good book and many readers would find it enjoyable.

3. My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult.  This book is about a young girl who was conceived to be a perfect match donor for her sister who suffers from a blood cancer.  She has undergone many medical procedures for the benefit of her sister and now at the age of thirteen is hoping to find out who she is separate from her sister.  The book centers around a decision she makes that affects the whole family.

This is my favorite book of all time.  I read it for the first time in 2008/2009 and I’ve read it at least once every year since then.  I love this book because it makes you think about big questions that are hard to find an answer to.  The book is so emotional.  If you like books with a huge emotional impact I would seriously recommend this one.

My objective rating for this book is five stars.  The book is wonderfully written.  The plot is very clear.  The characters are so realistic.

My personal rating for this book is also five stars.  I know my remarks on this book are pretty short compared to others but if I let myself go on and on about this book this post will never be finished.

4.  The Originals: The Rise created by Julie Plec based on the Vampire Diaries.  This book is about the original family’s rise to power in New Orleans.  I was a huge fan of this show so I did enjoy the book.  If you were a fan of the show I would recommend it to you.  If you weren’t then I would say you’re not missing much.  Though a fun read it really isn’t anything spectacular but as a fan of the show I loved revisiting the characters and did find it enjoyable.

My objective rating and my personal rating would both be three stars.

And that wraps up this post.  I promise to be a bit more informative next month  This post is a tad rushed because I will be busy this weekend and won’t be able to post then.  I
