Invasion (RWBY AU Snippet)

Yang wasn’t sure what possessed her to brandish her newly acquired cat like a protective charm, but the results were undeniable. The demon closest to her evaporated in a cloud of sparks and smoke, and the demons further away recoiled as though they had been physically struck.

“What happened?” Ruby murmured as she clutched at the chair leg she’d been using as a makeshift club. “Yang?”

“I don’t know,” Yang replied. “But I think the demons are afraid of Blake.” Another demon advanced toward them only to reel away as Yang lifted Blake up over her head and waved the feline around in the air. “Yep. They’re definitely afraid of her.”

“But why?” Ruby asked. A hissing, winged… thing swooped out of the air only to veer away with a terrified screech as Yang swiftly jabbed Blake in its direction. “Okay… never mind. Who cares why it works so long as it keeps working.”

“Yeah.” Yang gulped. “But where did all these demons comes from? I mean… I didn’t even realise demons were a thing, and then pow… demons coming from everywhere.”

“I think we can talk about that later.” Ruby pointed. There was another horde of demons headed their way. This particular horde was led by an especially large and menacing demon, a scaly fellow with three horns and what appeared to be blades for arms. “Right now, I think we should be running.”

Safely held in Yang’s arms, Blake sighed. This whole mess was probably Weiss’s fault.

Weiss, Göddes of Bureaucracy, frowned. Someone had filled in the wrong paperwork. Even worse, she’d accidentally stamped it for approval. Brows furrowing, she read through the paperwork again, eyes widening as she realised what she’d just accidentally approved.

Apocalypse Plan 12-B: Destruction of the Mortal World via Demonic Invasion.

“Oh… crap.” Weiss raised her voice, so one of her assistants could hear her. “Could you tell Nora that she needs to go down to the Mortal World? I need her to handle a few things while I try to fix this.”

As her assistant scurried off to summon Nora, Weiss covered her face with one hand. She’d begged the Council of Gods to approve a more streamlined procedure for dealing with accidental approvals. They’d refused, stating such procedures were unlikely to be necessary. Now, instead of simply stamping the paperwork with an ‘Unapproved’ stamp, Weiss had to file at least fifteen other forms, all of which would, at some point, end up on her desk anyway.

“Maybe now they’ll listen when I recommend a change in procedure,” Weiss muttered. “But I wonder how Blake is doing. She is down there on holiday, after all.”

With their faithful feline as a shield, Ruby and Yang continued to make their way through the ruined city. Blake had appeared in their apartment a few weeks ago and had made herself right at home. At the time, Yang had wondered if the cat would prove more trouble than she was worth, but Blake was more than pulling her weight now.

At first, Yang had thought that maybe the demons were afraid of cats, but some passersby had seen the demons recoiling from Blake and had attempted to copy the strategy. It hadn’t worked. Instead, they’d been horribly mangled while their cat ran for its life. Apparently, the demons only feared one cat: Blake.

Yang was still pondering why the demons were so afraid of Blake when a massive hammer crashed out of the sky and flattened the biggest, scariest demon they’d run into yet. With a single blow, thirty-feet of giant, man-eating demon, was turned into bloody pulp. By some miracle, the gore managed to miss Yang and her sister, and the blonde could only stare as an orange-haired woman appeared atop the hammer.

“Behold the power of Nora, Goddess of Thunder, Smiter of Demons, and Incarnation of Awesomeness, mortals!”

“…” Ruby tapped Yang on the shoulder. “Did some lady just drop out of the sky on a bolt of lightning after crushing a demon with a giant hammer.”

“Yes,” Yang replied. “But considering the fact that the only reason we’re even still alive is because demons are afraid of our cat, maybe that’s not too weird.”

“I guess.”

The self-proclaimed Nora, Goddess of Thunder, Smiter of Demons, and Incarnation of Awesomeness, hopped off her hammer and then slung the massive weapon over her shoulder with casual ease. “Fear not, puny mortals, Nora has come to save the day.”

“Uh… thanks,” Ruby said.

“Ahem.” Nora cleared her throat.

“Uh… thanks, Nora?”

“AHEM.”

“Uh… thanks, Nora, Goddess of Thunder, Smiter of Demons, and Incarnation of Awesomeness?” Ruby tried.

“That’s better, puny mortal.” Nora patted Ruby on the head. “Now, run along, I will deal with the demons plaguing this city.”

“How?” Yang asked. “I mean… you crushed that one demon with your hammer, but there are a lot of them…”

“How else? With thunder and lightning!” Nora cackled, and the skies above them began to fill with dark clouds. Lightning crackled through the sky, and the boom of thunder filled the air. “Trust me, mortal, there’s no problem in the world that can’t be solved with enough thunder, lightning, and a really, really big hammer.”

Bolts of lightning began to rain down on all of the demons in the city until the sky was so bright that Yang could barely see.

“Here.” Nora handed Ruby and Yang each a pair of sunglasses. “For your puny mortal eyes.”

“Thanks.” Ruby grinned. “Nora, Goddess of Thunder, Smiter of Demons, and Incarnation of Awesomeness.”

“I like you, puny mortal.” Nora ruffled Ruby’s hair. “I’ll be sure not to accidentally smite you while I’m smiting all of the demons.” Her eyes narrowed as she finally noticed Blake. “Nice cat you’ve got there.” She poked Blake with one finger. “Stop being lazy. The mortal world needs saving.”

Yang yelped as Blake, her cat, leapt out of her arms and transformed into a dark-haired goddess with cat ears. “What… the…?”

Blake, who was apparently a goddess not a cat, sighed. “I’m on holiday, Nora. I thought you’d be happy to do all the smiting yourself.”

“Normally, I would be, but Weiss can get so crabby when I accidentally blow up a continent. You’re much better at not, you know, turning half the world into collateral damage.”

Blake made a face. “Fine. I suppose I can help.”

Yang jabbed one finger at Blake. “You’re a goddess?”

“Yes.”

“I… I fed you tuna.”

“And it was good tuna.”

“I caught you trying to eat our goldfish!”

“They looked tasty.”

“I let you sleep in my bed!” Yang cried.

“And it was a very comfortable bed.”

“Oh?” Nora nudged Blake with one elbow. “Planning to get your claws into this mortal, Blake? Well, she’s not bad looking, I’ll say.” Nora made clawing motions with her hands. “You know, there’s nothing to get a lady’s blood racing like saving her world.”

“Nora…” Blake shook her head. “Can you not?”

“Nope.” Nora chuckled. “Remember how much you teased me about Ren? Well, now it’s my turn.” She threw one arm around Yang’s shoulders. “Don’t let Blake’s tendency to wander around as a cat put you off. She’s most definitely a woman although some say she can be quite the tiger in - OOF!”

Blake punched Nora in the gut with enough force to shatter every window in the street and send cracks racing along the ground. Behind Nora, several building turned into dust. “Stop talking.”

Nora shook off the blow and laughed. “Heh. You’ll have to hit me a lot harder than that to get me to stop talking.”

“Uh… guys?” Ruby pointed. “Maybe you should, I don’t know, go back to fighting the demons? There’s a weird portal thingie appearing in the sky.”

There was indeed a fiery portal into the depths of the Demon Realm appearing in the middle of the sky.

“Keep heading that way,” Blake said, pointing down the street. “Nora and I will handle things here.”

“But what if we run into more demons?” Ruby asked. 

“It’s not like I can brandish my cat at them,” Yang pointed out. “Since you were my cat.”

Blake whistled sharply. A corgi appeared beside her.

“This is Zwei. He’ll protect you.”

“He’s not going to turn into a person, is he?” Yang asked. 

“No. Zwei might not be a corgi all the time, but he definitely won’t turn into a person.”

“So what will he turn into?” Ruby asked. “A dragon?”

“Not quite.”

Zwei bared his teeth. There was a flash of light, and the cute and adorable corgi was now a massive hell beast of a canine the size of a house.

“Okay,” Yang said. “That should do the trick.”

“Don’t worry,” Blake said. “He’ll get bigger if he needs to.”

Sometimes, even a small mistake can have big consequences… like accidentally causing a demonic invasion. Ruby and Yang might be okay for the time being, but where is Ren? Takut karna aku takut kamu cape sama aku sama rutinitas pjj kita, terus kamu pelan-pelan ninggalin aku. Gamau, maunya sama Pandu terus. Kalau kamu deket udah kusamperin pasti, kayak di Bandung waktu itu. Ga pengen ngomong apa apa ko, diem aja tapi deket deketan gitu udah seneng.

Bener yaa, sekarang kita lagi masanya bosen bosenan PJJ. Lagi masanya renggang, gapapa renggang, namanya kan relationships kalo ga ups and downs, ga masuk akal, yang penting aku tau kamu masih Pandunya aku.

A rewrite The theory of connectivity To start my theory off connectivity I have to go to the start off what is true and move on to the imaginative side off it to capture excitement, i theories that it was a microwave that randomly in a cosmic natural way started the Big Bang, why is that because if you bring all you know out there together wither it's small or not all that would and must have been some sort of mass in one way or another, so I think frequencies have always existed to me why well it must be the first and only frequency, they know this now as the microwave frequency, and from that came the microwave, so as they say the Big Bang booms, but me I know they think this was a Big Bang but I think it was on an awesomely epic massive explosive cosmic scale, that to me that was an infinite explosion so massive we can't comprehend, so in this I theories that a massive ionisation effect had happened as well, and also I theories that this crated a sonic boom so massive it carried with it everything you know to be true, but I think this sonic boom that came was traveling at a speed we will never comprehend because we can't comprehend the explosion, so what I am saying is at some point at this sonic boom a part off that ring around the boom picked up that right frequency and enough particles and the speed we can't comprehend, and in that moment on that point on that sonic boom, thats was this dart like affect, that opened what you call the fabric of space time, the black hole you know now, being ripped open and I say this is the equal and opposite reaction to the Big Bang, also with a bit off an open mine you can say this was the start off the cosmic gravitational AND magnetism dance the start off astrological life, to me that is were all that gravity and magnetism cook up this cosmic soup mix of biology, this to me is natural selection on a cosmic scale, we see this everywhere I don't think we can calculate how simple it is, some off this is true with all the scientific knowledge they know, and all those particles and electrons and chemistry they understand So this far some is true some is not I now go to the planet, what planet, earth, what I have learnt that the planet in it's crazy out off control spin I would imagine that all those metals and minerals being spun at an uncomprehending speed because off that unimaginable bang, this to me would say that cosmic spin was cooking up biological life and in this mix as I say that's were the magnetic field came from So we know the earth has a magnetic field that helps the planet spin on a sis axis motion to hold it in place, and it all spins in an anti-clockwise motion as does the system, so when I look at the planets doing this same action I got to believe that they have this magnetic field to because they do the same anti-clockwise spin even if the don't spin in the same way they still spin in an anti-clockwise motion, this to me say magnetism has a big part to play in the Ying and yang of push and pull off gravity, I am not saying the math or science is wrong it's is RIGHT, but when you go out the and show me this space ship you call a shuttle, I do not see any gravity affecting the shuttle from the moon and earth, this makes me think that magnetism is the push off gravity I think this is miss understood, the magnetism give this feel off weightlessness, just a theory. So as I think the magnetic field is round the earth I would also imagine that it is round every planet why because they all do the same dance with metals and minerals crating you got it magnetism so to me this sings in harmonies cosmic song, yes this sounds funny but when you get your head round that you can see magnetic communication (the connection). What is magnetism nothing but frequency (ping the sub goes and ping goes the morse code and ping go all those frequencies that have come mostly from that horrendous noise PING the connection PING the Big Bang So this also makes me think that everything is held together with magnetism and so it lets make this theory, I am saying that all those rings the plants spin on this a harmonious song of magnetic dance and gravity, yes gravity is a big thing but I think they just forget about the magnetism and don't know if they put that into the equation So my theory goes onto say that I think this because of the online connection not to say we are going to be a race of computer biology cosmic beings, hell no but I think with a open mind we can travel the stars with unlimited fuel if you can push out of that gravity that mucks up all the math, so if you see it this way then you will be free to travel anywhere why we'll just sit down and read some more So I say from the outside plant this harmonious commutation through magnetic song they contact each other not in the sense off hello my friend No chance, it's a communication in a cosmic and magnetic and gravitational dance so since I don't always see it dance it must sing, so for my theory to connect everything and everyone From that outside planet think this way it is connected by a frequency to our planet that then sings to the sun in return the suns say here this is what you need to get on your way boys and girls (the mother and father affect). So think now that the sun is now connected to each other suns in this epic cosmic communication we don't understand yet, so if you can take this and digest it, it may sound crazy but so did everything, i.e. The wheel, the cart, the steam engine electricity and so on So because off all this I now theories that we have always had the contact with our cosmic crater we just misunderstood it because we are biological and don't believe anything till we see it but we believe in time and we can't digest that, so I now theories that we can now and always been able to why because we speak to our parents so we can talk to it like I say, but also not in the sense to shake there Hand I don't believe that, if you could prove this, this will answer all the questions off how we did what humanity built in the past that modern human kind can not, let's say like Egyptians moving big massive block because when you look at this. The Egyptians made a battery with this epic knowledge there creator gave them like it give everyone, because that is mummy and daddy really, this battery did not need to be strong they new this from the big instant teaching from mum and dad. So back in 2013 my friend and I decided we wanted to make a TERRIBLE FANFIC and we did here it is lmao Forbidden Love: Chapter One. I really haven't meant to make everyone so mad at me, I've just been far to stressed out at work, constant missions, everyone flipping shit on everything. Keyholes, hearts, completing kingdom hearts. Nag nag nag, never enough time to sit and play my sitar, so again I was sent off to do bitch work in the store rooms. Storing shit, taking inventory on their supplies. At lest I mused with a wary grin, I had time to myself to fuck off, Why doesn't anyone like me? Why does everyone think I'm stupid, I just just try so hard to please their majesties. I sat down on a box of organization 13 matching coffee mugs, for the employees to boost moral! I didn't even want the stupid fucken coffee mug, they made me pay 6 whole dollars for a cheap piece of breakable china shit that probably wouldn't even last a week. Well, i'm tired of their ching-chong China Shit. I'm gonna..... I'm gonna DO something about it! I edged store room, sneaking past the office thingy, going all double 007 on those hallways looking over my shoulder I felt SOOO bad ass had it in my sights the break room! Doing a cool ninja somersault behind some unsuspecting GIRLS!!!!11111 I quickly opened the door and snuck in shutting the door behind me uiet as a mouse. I opened the fridge door an looked through my eyes lazily jumping shelf to shelf until I saw the powered doughnuts. I LOVE DOUGHNUTS!!!! A satisfied sigh flowing past my lips at finding the thing I so wanted. Delicious powered doughnuts. grinning I lifted the bag out of fridge and opened it i ripped off the stupid tag that read "Axel" These straight to my ass, reclining back on a box of stupid employee plates, and dug into my stolen snack reveling in how naughty it was and how someone would have my balls in his mouth if he found out I was eating his doughnuts. As I was deep within the bag I could hear someone walking towards the break room, I looked up with an air of panic and quickly stuffed the bag of doughnuts down my cloak, wiping my white powdered hands off on the bottom of my cloak, Uh-oh. A quilty look fills my face as none other than Axel walks in, Him the owner of the doughnuts I had just devoured, Quickly I tried to hide only ending up tripping over myself breaking the special employee mugs in my haste. Oh shit. Axel walked into the room looking angry as ever. "You fucken little bastard, you better not be eatting MY powdered-" His green eyes widen as he takes in the white powder all over my face and hands. I stood up quickly my hands rising palm side out in a warding gesture . "DON'T SHOOT!" The words came flowing out of my mouth, before I could even think about something clever to say. The bag of doughnuts fell out of my cloak and fell upon the ground in a burst of white powder. He grinned slowly and walked towards me menacingly. "Well I'd hate to kill the suspense." he whispered in a low scary voice. I picked up the bag and started doing a SUPER OMEGA NINJA STAR ATTACK with the doughnuts, each one that hit him leaving a white mark in in its place. He stiffened for a bit taking the onslaught before a smile quirked up his lips as he picked them back and started flinging them back, before i got in a lucky hit and got him right where it counts throwing with enough force to double him over right in the vital regions. Axel doubled over "Oooh my mommy and daddy buttons." he groaned I started to laugh and he grabbed some doughnuts in his hand and pounces upon me driving me to the powder covered ground rubbing doughnuts into my face. The floor was covered in scuffed up footprint marred white, our wrestling covered our cloaks and hair in white powder I got up to my feet and shoved him away giggling. Axle shoved me up against the fridge pinning my hands above my head getting all up in my face grinning and panting slightly covered head to toe in white. " Hey, I just kicked your ass. Got it memorized?" He leaned in a little closer pushing against me harder, I tried to lean back, and BANG! CRASH! POW! BOOM! We knocked the fridge over, Axel landing on top of me briefly before someones voice yelled out "WHAT THE FUCK!?" and the sound of many feet. Running into see the shit going down in break room. Axel scrambled off me and yanked me to my feet. Xiomes WALKED IN seeing the destruction and mess. his eyes widening before he yelled "YOU TWO! MY OFFICE! NOW!!!!!!!!!!" CHAPTER 2: As we followed Xemnest down the ugly ass hallway Axel and I tried to figure out how we were going to get out of this fucking mess. "You fucking idoit!! If you didnt have to go do something stupid we wouldn't be in this predicament!" Axel whispered. As we walked, I could hear people whispering and laughing at us because we were covered in powder. We went from black to white like ying and yang or something else thats totally stupid and DOESN'T MAKE SENSE! "Oh yeah? Well if you didnt have such a wierd ass cold doughnut fetish this wouldnt have happened you moron!" I said in response to his stupid stupidity!! "WHAT?!?!! That was my lunch and nothing more!" Axel looked at my with angry green orbs. "Yeah! Ive seen you after work with your 'lunch' before, Axel! Ive seen what you have done to those poor doughnut souls!" "Oh my god... If you say anything to ANYONE im gonna--" Axel grabbed my cloak forcefully but was interrupted my Xemnas. "Shut the hell up back there!" We arrived at his office and walked with our heads hanging low like an old man's balls. We sat in the two chairs in front of his desk and mine made a gross farting sound when i sat. Xemnas glared at me while I looked as sorry as I could, even though it wasn't me. He sat there in front of us nonspeaking, his eyes narrowed and stormy, the silence that stretched over us deafening, I could see Axel uncomfortably shift in his seat sinking a little bit, his shoulders slumped and his eyes slowly narrowing trying to escape to whatever dumb place inside him that made the since not seem as terrifying. I looked back up at Xemnas his eyes still narrowed, his lips a tight hard line, god couldn't this prick ever fucken smile? I shifted and looked away from him, it was quiet enough I could hear the blood pounding in my ears and the sound of mutted combat out in the training grounds. Finaly Xemnas shifted straighten up and opening his lips to speak. "Do you two have anyting to say for yourselves?" He said quietly Axel opened his eyes and glared at me before turning his head back to Xemnas his fiery hair shifiting a bit "Well, this fuck ass decided to go out and eat my lunch then proceaed to attack me with the doughnuts." Axel's voice was rough with anger. Xemnas turned back to me raiseing his eyebrows in disbelif. I looked down at my feet. God, am I stupid, no wonder no one likes me I just fuck everything up. "Well, Demryx is this true?" I simply nodded unable to speak past the lump in my throat. Xemnas nodded at me "I see" he turned back to Axel. "And you decided to attack back? You couldn't just walk away and come to me? You are just as much at fault, now don't you think?" Axel stiffened and opened his mouth but, thought about it and closed his mouth with a click and glared at me out of the corner of his eyes and mouthed "You are so dead" Xenmas got up and paced around behind us. "So, now. I think it is only fair that the two of you clean up the break room Yes? Yes. And since you two can't seem to be getting along. You are now shareing a room, doing missions together, everything. Until further notice. Now get out of my sight." He turned his back to us and walked back to his window and stared out of it silently bidding us goodbye. Axel turned on me his eyes flameing, he got up and stalked out his fists clenched tight. I got up to my feet and quickly walked out fearfully. I started to walk past him and he grabbed my cloak and yanked me back clenching his fists in the front of my cloak his face inches from mine. he hissed out quietly and quickly so no one would over hear his threats "You stupid fucken little prick. I will make your life hell, do you understand? Every wakeing moment of your life will be hell. Got it memorized?" I mewed softly and nodded quickly grinning up at him "Y-yes sir." He grinned wickedly at me and shoved me a bit "Get walking" I nodded and started quickly walking to the break room the white powder still on my cloak and a new fear greater than the one of Xenmas filled me with a bitter taste. Axel was far more terrorfying than Xenmas by far. I hurried along to the breakroom every now and then looking over my shoulder to see if Axel as still following me, he was. Little whispers and snickers could be heard comeing from the other people as we were still white as freshly driven snow, or as a fucken virgins pure untouched body, I walked into the breakroom nearly tripping over osme stupid thing, I turned around and watched Axel walk in and watched him shut the door. I grabbed a mop and broom and started to clean I knew he was watching me, so I turned around and threw the broom at him " Why aren't you fucken helping?" I all but yelled at him The broom lands at his feet and he picks it up and starts to sweep glaring at me from under his stupid bangs. We swept for a little bit in silence until I accidental hit his thigh his with my broom. "you stupid shit!" He turned around and glared at me "We wouldn't be in this mess if you didn't like have some fucked up romantic love for doughnuts" I yelled at him throwing down the broom and balling my fists. He fucken punched me in the shoulder as he hissed out "And I wouldn't have to deal with you if you didn't FUCKEN EAT MY LUNCH" Where he punched me started to throb. "Ow! What the fuck Axel!?" I Shoved him back a bit and glared up at him putting all of my hate of him into one look " Why do you hate me so much Axel! What did I ever fucken do to you !" I whispered out dragging the back of my hand over my eyes ridding them of tears I didn't even know were there. He grabbed my shoulders and pushed me up against the wall tilting my head back so he could see my face,he leaned in closely and spoke softly " Do you really wanna know why i dislike you Demryx? Do you even know WHAT you do to me?" I stared into his green orbs and shook my head quickly feeling slighty naked under his gaze, like his eyes could stare into my soul and know all of my secrets. He grinned at me and his hands slip down off of my chest to rest on my chest like what the fuck. He glanced down at my chest for a momnet before he looked back up, grinned and spoke. "Because, Dem, you are so oblivious to everything that happens when you are around me. Fucken blind" He grabbed my hair with one hand and FUCKED IT UP!| "WHAT THE FUCK AXEL!??" I glared at him and hit him softly in the chest. he only chuckled at me and swiftly leaned in and kissed me. my jaw dropped as he walked off to finish cleaning chuckling darkly, leaving me in my stunned silence. What the fuck. My mind was reeling . What. The. Fuck. Axel fucken kissed me. OH MY GOD. I started cleaning silently, unable to believe what just happened. What the fuck No homo dude. My god....Axel. FUCKEN. KISSED. ME! I dragged my hand across my lips and glared at his back, what the fuck is his deal? I am SO going to bring this up with his pretty boy ass later. I picked my broom back up and started sweeping up broken glass, my mind still in shambles I knew I was blushing, I just refused to acknowledge that fact. I could hear him humming in his dumb ass voice, god Axel is probably Bi-polar he needs meds or some shit. I could feel his eyes on my back as I swept; but I didn't give him the satisfaction of seeing me turn around, I just kept cleaning silently for awhile trying to work out what was on my mind. Him. As I finished cleaning I knew he was leaning against the wall like the stupid fuck he is because he already finished, I hope he wasn't fucken getting off on watching me cleaning.

*cough* The only snippet I have is the first paragraph of chap 18 of Amour phew, I'm not particularly proud of it ^^. But here it is:

Xue Yang fucking knew it. After Jin Guangshan had died for real, thankfully, and in such a spectacular way one should give Wen Chao a medal instead of a bullet in his head (he actually had good minions who were able to make it look like some gas accident), no force in this world would stop A-Yao from dragging him to Venice. Xue Yang was a bit mad that Su She got to shoot the guy, and he had to be here, on another too long flight that gave him lots of time to look forward to the holiday.

actually, no, this was the only longer fic I had planned from the beginning, and if I am ever able to finish it, *cough cough*, I don't think I will make any changes

You really want me to choose between Xue Yang and Meng Yao?!?! XD No, it's Xue Yang, obviously, he's the main character, he's a murderous little gremlin with a hilarious crush, what's not to love <3

writing: hm, the good thing with one-shots is that they are finished :P But one can't tell every story in one part, so I don't have a preference

reading: I barely read fics, and most of the time I prefer one-shots - otherwise I will read a multi-chapter fic over a longer time

I watched Jaune wheel Qrow away. They said they were headed to the Malachites' bar first without any real direction afterwards. I suppose they'd start turning up stones there and see where that led.

I really needed to work up the guts to tell Qrow about Jaune. Qrow trusted him, he even liked Jaune. I really was just stalling on that front but family was hard. I'd never brought a boyfriend home before. Not that I was bringing Jaune to my house. He'd already been there though, before we were dating. The point was I wasn't sure Qrow would object to Jaune at this point. They were like two peas in a pessimistic pod. Qrow even shared his flask with Jaune after Jaune got roughed up that day.

I wanted to go to him so badly, then. He came back soaked in blood and we really hadn't had the chance to talk about it, even. We hadn't had the chance to really talk since the Gold Saucer when I told him how much he meant to me and how I truly felt.

The real trouble was Yang. I wasn't really sure how she would react to the news. I mean she knew Jaune was a good guy. He was trustworthy and wore his heart on his sleeve. Now she sort of knew the alarming competence that he had developed so she couldn't even complain about that. Jaune was a man now.

Pyrrha's and my work. I could be proud of that.

On the other hand, Yang certainly wouldn't handle the news we were sleeping together well. She was my big sister. That pretty much said it all but she'd done so much to raise me, too. She wanted to keep me safe and small. That's what she still saw me as but I was too big for that now. She'd learn, we just needed baby steps first, probably. Maybe a kiss on the cheek around her to start.  

I sighed.

I missed being kissed by him. I pressed my fingers against my lips as I imagined him taking them again. All passion and want. Heat flushed my face as I thought of the last time we were together in the shower here. His body pressed against mine and quiet gasps leaving my lips. Steam and need between us and nothing else.

It sucked having to hide things. Jaune hadn't complained since I'd told him what I wanted but I'd like to believe he was suffering a little too. It wasn't cruel, it just showed what he was just willing to do for me. He was willing to do a lot for me.

He'd killed with me in his heart thrice now, I knew. He was willing to get his hands dirty and when things got ugly he was right there up front with it.

I needed to prove I was like that too. I needed to show that I could lead with that same force of will that he had.

"What's the plan Ruby?" Weiss asked me. Like I was supposed to know how to infiltrate a brothel. Just because I knew some things now didn't make me an expert on brothels!

"Ren goes in." I said. "And gets a lay of the place." He didn't look happy about it. "How many exits and entrances? That sort of thing." I was quick to try and reassure him.

"Outfits?" He asked.

"If you can get your hands on some, sure. Shoot for something Yang's size. Or any of our sizes, really." Anything was better than nothing.

He glanced around at each of us, as though taking a mental stock of each of our outfits one last time. He was looking like each of us like we were sending him off to die much more than he was checking us out and his gaze showed it.

"Not Ruby's." Yang interrupted.

"Yes. Even mine." I ordered over her. I shot her a glare. And she shot one right back, slightly incredulous. I never said out loud that I would do it but I would. This is important. Jaune would do the reverse, not that that thought was nice to have. I had to be willing to go the miles I had to be willing to go. "If you can get your hands on it, yes absolutely. We cover a wide range of heights and sizes so if you get one thing it might just about do it." Yeah, I'd prefer if Yang did it, but if I had to...

Ren gave a single slow nod. "Do we, uh know where this place is?"

"Jaune said it was on the lower levels, right?" Nora brought up. "How big could the lower levels be?"

"Well it's the biggest of the levels." Weiss corrected lightly.

"Uh guys. Jaune left directions and an address." Oscar waved a hand behind our little pow-wow. He had a sticky-note in his hand. "So you don't have to guess about that."

"Oh uh." I stammered. Here was Jaune covering for me again. Thinking a few steps ahead. "Good. That's good. We don't have to guess about that, that is."

"I don't think they'll just have a box of outfits by the door." Nora chipped in again. "How do you suppose he gets some? Past sleeping with one of the girls I doubt he'll be in position to get his hands on their clothes."

"Plus wouldn't they keep the outfit on? Isn't that the whole appeal?" We all turned to look at Oscar. "I mean…" He trailed.

It was too late for him to save any measure of bright red face, but he may have had a point. Nora, for one, didn't look happy about Ren going so far. I wasn't super comfortable with the idea, either. Even those of us going to seduce the Don were only doing it to get into position.

None of us intended on going through with the deed.

"We'll just improvise. We'll wire you up." I said. I grabbed the wire and gear Qrow had put together. "Put this on." It was basically earbuds that hooked up to his scroll and we'd just be mid call with him while he was in. Bing, bang, boom. He was wired up. Ren threaded it under his outfit and plugged it into his scroll. They had modified a microphone next to his ear. Something subtle but it would ensure whoever was wearing it could be heard by those of us outside. It wasn't unusual for someone our age to walk around with one headphone in.

Not even suspicious.

"Improvisation is not my strong suite," Ren sighed.

"Do we just stay here while he goes in or…" Weiss asked.

"Maybe..." I thought for a moment. "No, better to be close. We'll find a restaurant or hang-out. We'll be nearby," I assured Ren.

He breathed in and out meditatively but said nothing. I thought maybe he was relieved but it was hard to tell with Ren.

Nora seemed to actually know and reached out and touched his sleeve. "You'll do fine." It was a small sign of affection but was made larger by Ren's silence. Yang even looked away from the two of them.

He gave her a single martial nod.

"So this is what the lower levels are like?" Nora wondered. "Bit of a mess, isn't it?"

"Jaune's been hanging out down here?" Weiss asked. We watched a dust bomb get sold over a counter like a candy bar. "Alone?"

"Qrow's been with him. For the most part," I defended. It wasn't like Jaune had been waltzing around by himself. He'd been pushing my handicapped uncle around. Which, okay, I saw Weiss's point.

In a fight, Jaune would have been basically alone. I suppose he had been, too, that day he killed someone again. My uncle wouldn't have been able to do anything other than watch.

I really needed to talk to him.

He'd acted comfortable down here in the lower levels. I knew he had some criminal background but as I watched weapons freely exchange I couldn't help but wonder what I'd been consigning him to. Had he really been relaxed down here. I know Yang looked like she was feeling fine but I could tell her skin was crawling from how much she was looking around. Jaune would get an entirely different kind of attention than Yang would, I knew that, but still.

I'd just been relaxing above and never knew. Never even gave it much thought. I'd been baking cookies for God's sake and Jaune had been here with people baking bombs. I wasn't sure I wanted to think about what Malachites' bar was like and beyond.

I mean he had killed somebody in a bar fight.

I really, really wanted to talk to him.

We found the Honey Bee Inn. A multi floored white building with many bright signs and neon hearts near the entrance. We tried not to stand outside and gawk at the place we'd be infiltrating in all our own bright colors.

We found a bar across the street and Yang walked in with a confident look. She lowered her shades and looked around and no one asked us for our IDs. I mean Nora, Weiss, and I were short enough that I was sure the guy behind the counter had questions. On the whole though, he didn't seem to mind so long as we paid upfront. Which we did.

I meagerly sipped the alcoholic drink Yang had ordered for me with a grimace and tried to keep a clear head. Ren marched into the Honey Bee Inn with his wiretap turned on and connected to Nora's scroll set to the speaker which sat in the middle of the table.

"I'm in." Ren murmured. "There's a bar inside and… and a bunch of girls. They're not wearing much."

"Well you're in the right place." Yang reassured dryly.

"Eyes to yourself sonny." Nora warned. I was glad she was at least having a good time. Or having something.

"Get yourself a drink, look casual," I advised.

"Roger that." Okay well if he kept saying 'roger that' outloud his cover was blown. "What should I order? I've never been in a bar before."

"Just a whiskey or vodka. You're a big guy," Yang informed him.  

"Is prostitution even legal here?" Weiss asked the table. That seemed like a fact worth knowing.

"Probably not," Yang enunciated each syllable slowly.

"The girls are just acting like waitresses," Ren muttered. "Vodka." He said a little louder.

"On the rocks." Yang continued.

"On the rocks." Ren echoed. He figured that she was giving him instruction awfully fast for somebody who professed to not think fast on their feet.

"No one would order one dry," Yang went on. "Just relax and trust me."

We heard Ren sigh through the microphone and I could imagine him nodding. Yang had street smarts that would help with this. There was a reason we wanted to get her alone in a room with Corneo.

"Do you have a plan to get their outfits?" Weiss asked.

"Maybe." Yang's gaze flickered over to Nora.

"Well don't leave us in the dark, spit it out already." Nora exclaimed.

"Ren, when a waitress comes up to you tell her you like the outfits but that you have a girlfriend. Tell her you have a fetish for it or whatever."

"What?" Nora wondered.

"You can't be serious." Weiss wasn't in either.

"I don't know that I can do that." Ren told the microphone.

"So what? That he just wants to, like, buy one?" I asked. The concept seemed so foreign.

"Why not?" Yang wondered.

"Actually…" Weiss weighed in. "This could work."

"That's what I'm saying. He likes the outfit just not any girl in there in one. It's the perfect excuse. It's shady, it's kinky, and he's willing to pay cash. That should be pretty normal."

I wondered for a second if Jaune ever wanted me to dress up like something. We were so fresh into things that it wasn't like we needed to spice anything up. I felt my face flush slightly at the pleasant memories. Thoughts for another time.

"Okay." Ren breathed. "Okay. I'll give it a try."

"Well we really only get one shot at it. Don't mess up." Yang gave him the business. "And try to get more than one. Tell them you have more than one girlfriend."

Weiss gave her a look.

"What? Being poly isn't as rare as people make it seem. Especially here in Mistral. People are pretty open minded in this part of the world."

"I-I suppose." Weiss stuttered out. She got this way about stuff like this. Weiss was somebody I could talk to about anything, we were besties like that, but that doesn't mean I'd actually talk to her about anything, we were besties like that, I suppose.

"It's not like that in Atlas, then," I asked.

Weiss shook her head.

"Sounds uptight, ice queen. You don't need any of that." Yang stretched her bionic arm over her head, getting at her back a little.

"Hey!"

"How are you doing handsome?" A woman's voice crackled through Nora's phone. "Can I get you anything?"

"Yeah, um you see the thing is I have some friends, who are girls, girlfriends, even." Ren stuttered out. "And we were wondering if we, well, I was wondering, anyways, if I could buy a pair off of you guys. See I'm sort of into the look, if you understand."

"I see…" the girl's voice came through. "How many girlfriends a guy like you have? The good looking huntsman type."

"Ah…" I could practically hear Ren thinking furiously. "Four? Four."

I mean we'd told him to go for as many as possible.

"How much money you got?" The woman whispered conspiratorially. "I think I can help you out."

"Tell her we'll pay a hundred fifty for each outfit." Yang pumped a fist.

Ren did some quick math. "Um I'll pay you six hundred Lien."

"No, no, sweetheart. How much money do you have? "

I heard Ren swallow through the mic.

"She made me open my wallet and everything." Ren bemoaned. "I'm out two grand!"

"Easiest money she ever made." Yang laughed. Ren had delivered with a box full of these honey-bee costumes. They had fuzzy bras with bright blue wings on the back. They came with these black and yellow striped bottoms which did not leave much to the imagination. The outfits left the midriff exposed, Ren was right, the girls inside were not wearing much.

The two pieces weren't that much more exposing than a swimsuit, I supposed. I held one up to my own body.

We were back in our hideout rental, and digging through the box Ren had made out with. He was holding his face in his hands while Nora patted his shoulder.

"I gave her your heights and I think she just guessed, I'm not sure how well they'll fit unless there's something about girls I don't know about."

"Oh. There's a lot you don't know about girls." Nora kept pating his shoulder. "That isn't one of them, though."

"I think she did decent." Yang said holding up the largest set to herself. "These bras are a bit on the one-size fit all kind. No matter if you show some underboob, sideboob, or cleavage. Kinda the point, even. Just need the important bits to be covered up. Y'all might have to do some switching, though."

"What did I miss?" Oscar came around a corner. He saw Yang holding up the fuzzy cups and round bottoms and said aloud. "Oh my Gods."

"Oh please." Yang threw the bra and bottom over her shoulder, she flicked her waist-length yellow hair back at the same time. "I'm not even wearing it yet. I will rock this."

I thought Oscar was about to burst a blood vessel, his face went so red. I giggled a little at his awestruck look.

Yang's hair went with it better than mine and Nora's would but I thought Weiss's would do fine. She cheated though, her hair looked nice in everything. Especially something like this where the white would contrast with the black.

I imagined it now, looking more silver than white, petite breasts covered with the little fuzzy cups and felt heat climb up my neck.

I shook it off as Jaune walked in. He was wiping his face off with his shirt, forehead sweat, mostly. His shirt went up and the heat came back, riding all the way up my face as I got a good look at his stomach and a bunch of warm pleasant memories rushed me.

I sighed when I saw the beginnings of the massive scars and his shirt lowered.

I felt like slapping myself awake. Maybe that alcoholic drink had left me more dazed than I pleased but the warmth felt nice.

"Jaune!" I shouted, holding the outfit up still. I watched his eyes go wide and an adorable blush ride him up. I grinned which only faded slightly as Qrow rode up behind him.

"Where," Jaune enunciated, "did you guys get your hands on those."

"The Honey Bee Inn of course!" Nora exclaimed.

"Right. The bee stuff should have tipped me off."

"What do you think?" I asked, holding the outfit over me.

"Yeah Jaune?" Nora bullied. "What's on your mind?"

"Um…" he managed cutely. Yang was right, I wasn't even in the thing. I already felt… powerful in a way. I kinda liked it.

"Eyes to yourself kid." Qrow grunted. "That's my niece you're looking at."

"I'm getting a good look, too." He was still staring. He was staring hard enough to make me blush some more and when someone looked away it was me. He looked at me like he was hungry. It had been a little while. I suppose I sort of invited it on us with how I'd gotten his attention.

"Yeah?" Qrow asked. His gaze flickered between us, like he was figuring something out, he rolled his eyes and muttered about kids. "Well we learned some shit about the Don you're probably not going to like."

"He likes new girls. They hire on new staff every time he visits the Honey Bee Inn. He gets bored fast and he likes virgins," Jaune said.

"Wow, who'd you have to beat up to learn about that?" Nora asked.

"Some guys. They were obstinate," Jaune said. He looked his knuckles over and I noticed the skin was rolled like he'd been punching something hard. Probably skin over bones. "And over what was basically gossip, no less. Still it should help with the plan. Slipping some of you girls in next time he's around. You'll go unnoticed if you mix with the new staff."

I had to wonder what he had been up to while this time I was out with the gals drinking. It seemed he'd outdone me again in his commitment to the cause.

I fumed silently and lowered the clothes.

"It's as good a plan as any." Weiss folded her own brassiere and bottoms over one arm.

"You're going in too, Weiss?" Jaune asked.

Weiss said, "I suppose I am. The plan was to get as many of us in as possible, right?"

Jaune just nodded and shot me a sideways glance. His concern did him credit but I needed to be in there. Boots on the ground, so to speak. Good thing the getup didn't come with heels or I'd be screwed.

They came with these fuzzy shoes.

"Well this is better than just Yang and I going in, and you boys get to see us in these." Nora leaned back. "Win, win."

Jaune shot a look over to his comrade in testosterone on the couch. "What did you guys do to Ren?"
