The best way to keep yourself from spiraling out of control was to keep busy, but sometimes, when you felt awfully exceptionally lonely, it was best to keep busy while in the company of friends. Hudson wasn’t quite sure he could call anyone other than Gideon and Yves his friend, but Yves was someone who was best consumed in very small doses. The son of Deimos finds his way to the training grounds, watching the spars and training sessions from the sidelines until that wasn’t enough to keep his attention from trailing to darker thoughts.
“Hey!” Hudson gives the demigod a stiff, singular wave of his hand as they make eye contact. “So, uh, you doing anything special for Dexter’s trial?” he asks, figuring it would be best to focus on preparing for that than personal matters. “Training wise, I mean.”

Gage was the closest to see Doc unravel. The tank, Boreas’s own, watched Julian’s decisive facade fade and crack into despair, then wrath. The wraith knew his weak spot and his past without another blink. How, why? It didn’t matter that it’s slain and the quest’s over.

Julian tightened his grip on his mug of tea, balancing it with a shaky hand. He’s wandering to the Aspida house, a growing refuge for himself. The men in there, most anyway, were on good terms with him. If not? Only due to not properly meeting. Julian knocked at the door and his blue gaze shifted. Soon enough it opened and he found himself face-to-face with the young tank.
He tried to muster a smile, but it faltered. Waned. “Thank you for being there,” he said, an effort to keep his tone as smooth as possible. But just like the marble of Greek ruins, it, too, crumbled.

it had barely lasted minutes but gideon feels exhausted. maybe it’s the come down of the adrenaline surge that pulsed through his body. maybe it’s that feeling of accomplishment. maybe it’s somethign else entirely. he’s not sure. he combs his fingers through his sweat-damp hair and makes his way toward the pali house to drop off his things. he grabs a towel or two, changes out of his clothes into a pair of swim trunks, and makes a b-line toward the hot springs.
he’s almost there when he sees a familiar face and a half smile blooms over his mouth. “gage!” he calls out, jogging over to him. “wanna join me at the hot springs? got an extra towel if you need one.” he remembers their last conversation and gage’s decision on not playing nomiki’s game. he understands, but maybe with more familiarity he’ll be able to make sure that he wants to join in on the next one. crazy witch or not.

The demigod of time slowly crept through the hallways of house Apida, clad in nothing but a pair of low hanging gymshorts. After a rather late night with an Aspida friend, who had since been passed out asleep, Asher made his way through the house as quietly as possible. It was abundantly clear that after the attack, so many of the demigods and citizens alike were working to avoid being on their own, especially at night. Asher had noticed just the previous night that the Mageia house had been twice if not three times as crowded as usual. It made sense on some level. The mage’s house had protective runes and wards up the ass, it had to be one of the safest places at camp. Asher however, opted for staying in his second favorite house on camp, built undergound, and filled with big, beefy demigods with protective powers.
Through process of elimination, he managed to creep himself to what he assumed to be Gage’s room. He hadn’t seen much of Gage since the night of the attack. After realizing the son of Boreas had come out of it unscathed, he had let his attention drift other places, though obviously as he moved through the Aspida house that night, he hadn’t planned on staying away for long. He leaned against the door frame, feeling the cool chill of the subterranian house brush his bare skin, he knocked firmly on the closed door, leaning in close to stage whisper, “Hey, Hollywood? You up?”

@boreasbae asked: Before making his trip out to Alaska, there was one more place Gage had to stop by. Come to think of it, he’d never actually stopped by Agathys’ shop so this would double as a first time experience. He knew the woman didn’t like anyone wasting her time so he made haste in approaching her.
“Heya, Auntie Aggie. Can I call you that?” She seemed like that weird but cool aunt. “…Eh, well! Regardless. I’m on my way out to seek….I don’t even know what. But I’m doing it solo. Do you think you can give me some healing potions? I think four should be enough.” he smiled as he slid her 300 gold. “And a 100 for a donation? I appreciate what you do for us.”
"no,” she deadpans without looking up from the scroll she was transcribing. she glances up, as if to commit the demigod’s face by memory in case he turned up missing on his adventure into the unknown. “bring me a few more of these and we’ll see about that nickname,” agathys mentions and tucks away the coin into a hidden reservoir, then hovers four potions into gage’s possession. “don’t hurt yourself.”

Early hours of the morning and you couldn’t see another soul around their ruined camp aside from Yves who was poking the ashes of the almost dying fire in the middle of their tents. Sleep evaded him all night, unlike the thoughts of Gideon. He was so deep in his head that he didn’t hear Gage until the man stepped on a twig and snapped it audibly, the sound echoing around them but waking nobody. “Oh. It’s you.” Yves rubbed his eyes, too tired to get scared properly. “Christ. Even my fight or flight mode is broken. Everything moves like it’s lagging. Why are you up?”

Half the day had gone by, and Gage was the last house mate Snow had managed to run into. Since the son of Artemis was starting to wind down after soaking up some rays and going for a run, he descended into the lower half of the house in search of the younger man. Dane’s door was still shut and so was Gage’s, one worried him more than the other. Stepping up to Gage’s room, he wrapped his knuckles to knock against the natural wood.
“Gage.” When there was no answer for a solid minute, Snow tried his luck with the knob and carefully opened the door, “It’s me, Snow. I’m coming in.”

“Knock knock.” Yves leans against the open door, a barely there smile on his lips and a pink t-shirt under his hoodie. “Baby slut, reporting for duty.” The salut is lazy and incorrect, but it gets the message across. “Can’t believe you had something that reaches past your belly button. No wonder you wanted to get rid of it.”

“Gage! ‘glad you decided to join me.” It had been an all day venture; seeking a bottle of bbq sauce, so Snow made a few sacrifices while grilling up the boar meat. Spiced it up with veggies and fruits he managed to find between the forest and villagers willing to trade. After spending a few nights with the guys on this amazing porch, it seemed like a waste to not get up to some community cooking. “Number 1 rule: you don’t have to like it, but you do have to try it.” He shot out the disclaimer before wiping his hands off with a towel. “Also... are you good at making lemonade?”

After collecting his tent and belongings, Snow left the pack at team one’s campsite. He planned to trek about in search of comrades that could use his help or attention. It was still too early though, most tents were still full and cookware a mess around long dead fires. However, one other demigod seemed to be up--but not so much about like Snow.
The blond discovered Gage, sat alone, appearing deathly still. A similar, chilling, position he’d found his housemate in once before. He took strides toward Gage, but didn’t appear too quick or eager, he just had to get to him. There was no telling what took place on each boat, what horror’s and tricks that lay beyond what they could fathom. Books couldn’t teach you everything after all. “Gage...” He carefully announced, “you feeling alright? ‘have me worried, man... my homemade veggie stew couldn’t have been that bad.”
