There was a deleted scene where Cesare said Lucrezia was his one weakness?!?! WE WERE ROBBED!!!
Also, if you’re still interested in a rewatch, I would TOTALLY do that with you. :-) I’ve just got to get through this stupid crazy month. 😭
oh yes, anon. the writers chose to delete so many pretty moments from show finale.
the exact quote goes something like, "my one weakness. . . my one chink in the armor is YOU."
now i'll forever be bitter for that one.
( yeah, these two pictures are related to that scene but that's all we have now. )
as for the rewatch, of course i'm still interested. let me know whenever you're down for it.

Defenestrate my morals, because I just watched The Borgias. My brain has turned into a poisonous sin flavored soup but I do not care because I am an atheist and Lucesare is now my religion

cesare + lucrezia || not everyone can love like that...
Another video inspired by all of the Cesare and Lucrezia discourse on my blog lately, this vid specifically focusing on the theme of weddings and marriage and how emotionally at least, any marriage cesare and lucrezia would have would be doomed to fail. song chosen by @gemleilou hope you enjoy it!

"Maybe our love has to be more of the soul" she says
"Like brother and sister?" he asks
And she, remembering how just last night she fucked her brother, says "no, not like that"
.
I'm perpetually screaming at this show and will be until i finish it

Problematic Ships Map
Most of my ships and how they connect. I’ve tried to begin with the first ships I had and how their tropes shaped my taste.
For instance, Wuthering Heights made me notice I loved childhood friends or lovers torn apart.
Hades and Persephone was not personally a first for me, but historically it was the beginning of an common archetype, which is a cruel, possibly supernatural male figure trapping a young maiden into a world of darkness and wonder.
Unfortunately I could not display all the possible connections because there would be too many arrows. For instance, Narkik started a war like every other roaring rampage of romance ship.
Just assume the closer the ships are in branch, the most likely they are to be similar. If you want to know about an specific ship and recommendations of other ships based on it, I’ll gladly answer to you in box ;)
Some things might not make sense as to why does Spuffy comes from Dolores/MiB when the former was not a case of ex-lovers. That’s because sometimes the child-branch doesn’t relate to the main trope from it’s parent, but the dynamic of one ship reminds me strongly of the other because of aspects not mentioned.
Meaning of some tropes is here.
Find the tag for your ship here.
Hope this helps you all find new ships.
See ya! <3

“What does it say of us, Brother, that you promise me this and I would accept?” -Lucrezia
“Do you accept?” -Cesare
DO.YOU.ACCEPT.?!!?!
Tell me WHY no one talks about this part and how important it is? To me, it is vital.
Cesare killed Ursula’s husband and she abandoned him for it.
Cesare killed Lucreza’s ex-husband and he must know of her response.
Now, this is gonna be long but stick with me here:
I’ve always believed that Ursula was a replacement for Lucrezia. On Lucrezia’s wedding day, soon to leave, he meets another blonde curly haired beauty that night. She happens to be in an unhappy marriage with an abusive man, and asks that Cesare “liberate” her.
Cesare makes it his duty to free her and claims to love her, and she claims to love him back, but she’s scared of how intense he is and so on. They don’t know each other that well and I think the fierceness of his affection comes from him projecting Lucrezia onto Ursula.
When Ursula discovers her husband was murdered by Cesare, she’s upset and cuts ties with him. He goes a bit psycho stalker there, claiming they are like the forbidden lovers Eloise and Abelard.
How.Ev.Er., once Lucreza returns back home and their relationship rekindles, his affection for Ursula gradually dwindles. When he finds Ursula’s dead body, he isn’t distraught as a lover would be. Instead he’s like, “Whelp, this is what happens when you choose God over me.”
Whereas anything hurting Lucrezia mentally or physically makes him loose his shit.
Like him killing her ex-husband for hurting her and bringing her the knife as proof.
Now, when Cesare killed Ursula’s husband, he knew he was in the wrong. If he thought he was right, he would’ve told Ursula what he had done as soon as he could or even told her he planned to kill her husband even before he had done so. But he didn’t. He truly used her. He needed a replacement for Lucrezia.
VS.
But with Lucrezia, he tells her the news as soon as he sees her and her accepting the kill matters. The savage murder of Giovanni was much more...emotionally changing to Cesare compared to Ursula’s husband.
Ursula’s husband may have been his first kill, but they were hand-to-had fighting. In this case, it was cold-blooded murder. After the murder, Cesare spent some time alone and stared at his hand in awe and went to confession as soon as possible. This kill mattered to him much more. THIS whole sequence of events mattered to him more. So the fact that Lucrezia accepts the knife or not is important. Because if she doesn’t accept the knife, she doesn’t accept him and the sacrifice to himself that this murder cost him.
But this is Lucrezia. She loves Cesare at even his darkest and she, herself, is turning pretty damn vengeful. If Cesare didn’t kill Giovanni, she would have eventually done so herself. (Remember the falling-off-horse incident? Also the falling chandelier on her own brother?)
BUT, it’s not even just those words. It’s the whispered SOUND of them. The desperate, deep, pressure from Cesare as he stares down at Lucrezia with this seeking ache of the need for assurance. That stare of his pierces my heart, the way he stands close to her makes me tense, and I am so flustered.
Do you accept?
Do you accept?
Do.You.FUCKING.accept?!
Also, side note: What do you think Cesare did with the knife?

sometimes I just think about cesare and lucrezia borgia, not all the time, but just enough that a small tear comes down my cheek because I think of those two beautiful people and how they never were meant to be together but they were, it was beautiful and it was short but then you would remember they weren’t supposed to do the things they had done but who tells a borgia what they can and can’t do especially cesare when it comes to lucrezia and then I think just “wow”
they were powerful...

My elevator pitch to watch The Borgias:
If you want to fall into a pit of indulgent and decadent sin and laugh in the face of all that is holy as you’re falling.
