This WAS Botham Shem Jean. He was killed by a female Dallas police officer last night because she, “walked into the wrong apartment thinking that it was her own”. I've been seeing a lot of trash floating around about how awful it apparently is that police searched the man's apartment after he was murdered by the female Dallas officer, criticising how some outlets are reporting that officers found weed in the apartment of the dead man.

So are we at the point in society where we no longer investigate murders and just automatically believe what the guilty party says as truth? It might have been no accident that the woman shot him.

That is not to say that race played any part in her killing him. If it was dark enough that she apparently couldn't tell she was not in her own apartment, it's reasonable to assume she did not know what race or gender the person in "her" apartment was.

Police officers keep odd hours, maybe her upstairs neighbor was a little too noisy for her liking and she snapped like a psycho bitch. Maybe she thought she could get away with it and play it off like it was a total freak accident. Maybe there is evidence in Botham's apartment that proves the two actually did know each other. Maybe his murder was hella premeditated.

The investigation is pretty much just getting started so how about we stop acting like we know the whole situation based pretty much solely on the murderer's testimony?

Literally for all we know this cop lady could have been stealing and dealing drugs from evidence and her neighbor was actually one of her clients and had threatened to turn her in after she did something shady? WE LITERALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON IN THESE PEOPLE'S LIVES SO LET'S STOP PRETENDING WE DO AND WAIT UNTIL THE INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN COMPLETED TO MAKE ANY JUDGEMENTS AND NOT JUMP ON THE "HE GOT KILLED FOR BEING BLACK" BANDWAGON WHEN THE SITUATION IS LIKELY FAR MORE COMPLICATED AND NUANCED THAN THAT.
