I watched last night ... she was amazing!! ...
"It’s my understanding that MSNBC’s leadership did not object to Ronna McDaniel being hired by NBC News when the matter first arose, but when the hiring was announced, and MSNBC staff essentially unanimously and instantly expressed outrage, our leadership at MSNBC heard us, understood, and adjusted course."

WB’s Coyote Vs. Acme fiasco attracts congressional attention
"After last week’s public relations fiasco, during which Warner Bros. Discovery alienated filmmakers, film fans, and industry leaders with its anti-art decision to shelve its completed Looney Tunes movie Coyote Vs. Acme, the company reversed the course. The concession: WBD would allow the filmmakers to shop the movie around, giving another studio the opportunity to release a film featuring one of WB’s most beloved and seminal characters. It’s like if Disney allowed Netflix to do a Mickey Mouse movie, or a studio removed the words “HBO” from a streaming service, or a social media company changed the name Twitter to “X.”
The fallout from Warner’s hunt for some sweet tax write-off money isn’t over yet because Texas Representative Joaquín Castro is asking the Justice Department and the FTC to look into the matter, comparing WBD’s “tactic” to “burning down a building for the insurance money.
“The WBD tactic of scrapping fully made films for tax breaks is predatory and anti-competitive,” Castro tweeted. “As the Justice Department and @FTC revise their antitrust guidelines, they should review this conduct. As someone remarked, it’s like burning down a building for the insurance money.”
Per The Hollywood Reporter, this isn’t the first time Castro has gone after WBD with what he calls “anticompetitive practices.” In an April 7th letter signed by Castor and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, which was a follow-up to a 2021 letter of the initial merger between Warner Bros. and Discovery, the two senators accused WBD of “hollowing out an iconic American studio” by canceling Batgirl, Scoob! Holiday Haunt, and the HBO series Whistleblower, which WB purchased following an intense bidding war and canceled after the merger.
“The damage to content creators whose projects are canceled in deep development and post-production cannot be overstated,” he wrote. “Such cancellations stain these projects, making them less appealing and marketable to other buyers — consumers will likely never be able to watch shows purchased then canceled by WBD. WBD’s conduct amounts to a de facto ‘catch and kill’ practice, vastly limiting consumer choice.”
The difference between Coyote and the other canceled projects is Coyote is done, in the can, and people have seen and praised it. In the days since the cancelation, members of the film community have begun championing the movie as well as reportedly canceled meetings with Warner Bros. Discovery. Meanwhile, despite its attempts to blow out the lit fuse, Warner Bros. Discovery’s face is covered in ash, making for a grotesquely humorous punchline to a deeply depressing situation."
Zaslav is counting on bringing back merchandise juggernaut, Harry Potter. In the meantime, WBD fired most of it's diverse staff, gutted the Art departments, ruined CNN. People don't even admire Anderson Cooper, anymore. It's pretty clear, Zaslav and peers are anti-art. They put Honey Boo, on TLC. Anyone else feel like supporting product from Warner Bros Discovery? Jason Momoa supported Amber Heard and her role in Aquaman, even after petitions were sent, asking for her removal. Also...Momoa would never have gone after Oprah and the Rock unless he had been ordered to. Whether they were being shifty in that instance or not, the Hawaiian people will never know.

being a young american is so exhausting. i boycott and protest and write letters to delegates and nothing changes. a portion of my tax money is going to killing palestinians. my options for voting are two guys who only want blood money. i’m going to throw up
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: you can have much more influence at the local level. Federal officials are far removed from reality, and the more local you get, the more those officials have a stake in hearing what you personally care about. Don’t give up. We’ve seen in recent days the power of collective action through unions. You can have similar impact with direct action in your local community.
And one more thing: if people like yourself weren’t speaking up about important issues, like Palestine right now, the media would still be completely silent. But the narrative is slowly tilting. Even outlets like MSNBC have started calling out Israel’s war crimes.
Keep using your voice; it’s a powerful weapon.

Elon Musk has turned Twitter X into a haven for hate speech as well as bots from Russia and other malevolent countries.
Musk himself promoted an antisemitic tweet – probably to show his far right pals that he's just one of the guys. Because of that, he's losing his few remaining respectable advertisers and is coming under scrutiny by governments in the US, UK, and the EU.
An advertising boycott of social media platform X is gathering pace amid an antisemitism storm on the site formerly known as Twitter. Apple, Disney, Comcast and Warner Brothers Discovery have all halted advertising on X, US media report, following hot on the heels of IBM. The European Commission, TV network Paramount and movie studio Lionsgate have also pulled ad dollars from X. It comes after X owner Elon Musk amplified an antisemitic trope. The corporate boycott has also been picking up steam in the wake of an investigation by a US group which flagged ads appearing next to pro-Nazi posts on X. A spokesperson for X told the BBC on Thursday that the company does not intentionally place brands "next to this kind of content" and the platform is dedicated to combatting antisemitism. Mr Musk came under fire on Wednesday after he replied to a post sharing an antisemitic conspiracy theory, calling it "actual truth".
Yeah, "actual truth" as the type of stuff you'd find on Truth Social. 🙄
The White House denounced Mr Musk's endorsement of the post. "We condemn this abhorrent promotion of antisemitic and racist hate in the strongest terms," said spokesperson Andrew Bates.
The Washington Post has a list of major advertisers who have suspended their ads on Musk's platform.
IBM IBM pulled its advertising from X on Nov. 16 after the Media Matters report identified it as one of several blue-chip companies whose ads had appeared next to tweets promoting antisemitism. [ ... ] Apple The maker of iPhones and MacBooks decided to pause all advertising on X on Friday after Musk endorsed an antisemitic post on platform, according to Axios, citing unnamed sources, and the New York Times. Apple was reportedly the platform’s largest advertiser, spending nearly $50 million in the first quarter of 2022. [ ... ] Lionsgate A spokesperson for the entertainment and film distribution company told The Washington Post it suspended advertisements on X on Friday afternoon, saying the decision came after “Elon’s tweet.” [ ... ] Disney The entertainment giant suspended advertising on the social media platform Friday, a company spokesperson said. [ ... ] Paramount The media, streaming and entertainment company is suspending all advertising on the platform, a spokesperson said in an email to The Post on Friday.
[ ... ] Comcast The global media and tech company is pausing ads on X, company spokesperson Jennifer Khoury said in an email on Friday. Philadelphia-based Comcast, with a market cap near $171 billon, provides a range of broadband, wireless and other services.
The European Union has also stopped all advertising at MuskX.
No more ads on Elon’s X, EU Commission tells staff
Truth Social is having HÜGE financial problems. Perhaps the two ought to merge; a lot of people wouldn't notice the difference except for the logo. 😆
Chris Hayes at MSNBC put Elon Musk's antisemitism in historical perspective.

To people still on Twitter/X: How do you explain to others why you remain on a platform associated with vile hatemongers?

CNN is becoming Fox News Lite before our very eyes since Chris Licht recently took over. Every segment all day long criticizes Dems and promotes RepubliKKKan talking points. Any accusations, talking points, propaganda, or conspiracy theories that appear on the twitter feeds of Cruz and other oligarch henchmen now appear as valid and unchallenged “news” on CNN.
If there isn’t a movement to boycott CNN and drive away their sponsors then we’ve lost another network. A network that’s in every cable package in nearly every home in America. CNN is a global powerhouse and MSNBC reaches only a fraction of homes that CNN does. We’re losing the battle for the hearts and minds of America.
We’re losing the culture wars and we’re losing the political wars and we are already a defacto fascist state. We just lack the dictator at this point.
America as we knew it is over and unless RepubliKKKans lose big and lose immediately then we will not regain our freedom or safety.

The double standard with Israel and Palestine leaves us in moral darkness
Moustafa Bayoumi
Biden and Zelenskiy support a war they say was ‘unprovoked’ but a defenseless population will pay for media misinformation
Wed 11 Oct 2023 12.00 CEST
Tumblr media
A close-up of white vigil candles tied with black ribbon, with white paper disks at the ends, in the darkness.
I always dread watching US news coverage of wars, and now is no exception. After Hamas’s deadly attacks in Israel and Israel’s hellish bombardment of Gaza, I checked in on MSNBC. Before long, I heard one of their reporters talk about “the violent history between these two nations” – as if Palestine were a country – and had to turn off the TV to get a break. Palestine is not a country. That’s the whole point. Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel all live under various regimes of organized discrimination and oppression, much of which makes life nearly unlivable, and if the US media can’t even frame the issue correctly, what use is there in even covering it?
It’s not just laziness either. The reflexive identification with Israel, by both US media professionals and politicians, always obscures the fuller picture of what’s happening between Israel and the Palestinians. On 7 October, the National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson stated that the US “unequivocally condemns the unprovoked attacks by Hamas terrorists against Israeli civilians”. Every one of us must stand up and denounce the killing of every civilian, Israeli or Palestinian or otherwise. But Watson’s use of the word “unprovoked” is doing a lot of work here.
What exactly counts as a provocation? Not, apparently, the large number of settlers, more than 800 by one media account, who stormed al-Aqsa mosque on 5 October. Not the 248 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces or settlers between 1 January and 4 October of this year. Not the denial of Palestinian human rights and national aspirations for decades. One can, in fact must, see such actions as provocations without endorsing further murderous violence against civilians. But if you watched only US news, you would be likely to presume that Palestinians always act while Israel only reacts. You might even think that Palestinians are the ones colonizing the land of Israel, no less. And you probably believe that Israel, which holds ultimate control over the lives of 5 million Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza and yet denies them the right to vote in Israeli elections, is a democracy.
To be considered a political being you must at the very least be considered a human being. Who gets to count as human? “I have ordered a complete siege on the Gaza Strip. There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel, everything is closed. We are fighting human animals and we are acting accordingly,” Israel’s defense minister Yoav Gallant said. Human animals? How can such language and an announced policy of collective punishment against all the residents of Gaza be seen by Israel’s supporters in the United States or elsewhere as defensible? Let’s be clear: Gallant’s language is not the rhetoric of deterrence. It’s the language of genocide.
There’s the nagging hypocrisy of the war in Ukraine. So many around the world support Ukraine’s resistance to foreign occupation (as they should) but blithely deny Palestinians any way to resist their occupation. Even non-violent methods of resistance like the boycott, divestment and sanctions campaign is vilified and even criminalized. Why the double standard? Unsurprisingly, such stances go all the way to the top. The Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskiy has twice voiced unilateral support for Israel in recent days, saying that “Israel’s right to self-defense is unquestionable”. Would he say the same for Russia on his territory? Of course not. Zelenskiy ought to see how his invaded and occupied land is more akin to the situation of the Palestinians than the Israelis. The obfuscations are everywhere.
So are the double standards. We will certainly hear a great deal in the United States about the Israeli Americans killed or abducted by Hamas, as we should, but will those same voices rise to the same volume for Palestinian Americans threatened and killed in Gaza? Did they also demand answers when the Israeli military shot and killed the Palestinian American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in May 2022?
The double standard may be expected considering how the plight of the Palestinians has been discussed in the past, but that doesn’t eliminate its moral darkness. It’s also particularly dangerous and tone-deaf at this moment, when we’re on the cusp of a government – Israel – using unprecedented violence on a largely defenseless and penned-in population, in part to cover for its own fatal mistakes and embarrassment.
One fundamental way this double standard operates is through a false equivalence, a two-sides-ism that hides the massive asymmetry of power between the state of Israel and the scattered population groupings that make up the Palestinian people. They’re not equal. One dominates while the other is dominated. One colonizes. The other is colonized.
At least since the Oslo accords of 1993, we’ve been sold various promises that the way out of this injustice was negotiated settlements; after generations of enormous human sacrifice, Palestinians would finally achieve their national aspirations. It was already clear to many of us that this had long ago become a necessary illusion maintained by the powerful. Today, a negotiated peace seems farther away than ever.
This both saddens and frightens me. We are very likely entering another long and painful era where armed struggle and violent domination become increasingly and mutually dependent on each other for survival. Yet neither can win. The Palestinians will remain. They cannot be eliminated. Israel too will continue to exist. The future is full of unnecessary and horrific bloodshed all around. Desperate western attachment to morally bankrupt double standards bears a large portion of the blame.

Ronna McDaniel OUT at MSNBC As NBC News Attempts Democrat Damage Control (RONNA RINO)
Tumblr media
As Twitchy readers know, Ronna McDaniel quickly picked up a political commentator gig with NBC News in the wake of her exit as RNC Chair.
McDaniel received a quick roasting from the right, most of whom were glad to see her go. Not to be outdone, leftists went all-in on what they saw as a betrayal by NBC News to hire the Republican. The media doesn't pick sides … or so we've been told.
The wailing and gnashing of teeth from enraged Democrats was apparently too much for NBC News to ignore.
LOL.
We're frankly a bit shocked by the backlash. Ronna McDaniel has been much more successful at engineering Republican election losses than either NBC News or their fringe wacko outfit, MSNBC. We thought they'd welcome her with open arms.
Ha! She hasn't even made an appearance yet.
This gem, from fake pastor, John Pavlovitz, is a good example of the kind of criticism being lobbed at NBC News from the loony Left.
The only acceptable Republican to these folks is a Biden-voting, Lincoln Project, RINO who spends their days resisting Trump. The rest of us on the right are evil fascist Nazis.
It's just funny at this point. Point and laugh … point and laugh.
Speaking of the Lincoln Project, check out this winner.
Steve, you might want to take a break from trying to blacklist political commentary to research what a fascist is.
They're calling for a boycott. LOL.
'Internal backlash'. Well, yeah, MSNBC is the Star Wars bar scene of cable news. The hiring of Ronna McDaniel probably resulted in hordes of MSNBC pronouners angrily snapping their fingers in defiance while seeking employer-provided counseling services.
Like we said, it was a cacophony of crazy.
Meh. RICO isn't a crime. Just ask AOC.
'Vile thing'. The dehumanization of one's political opponents is awfully popular among leftists these days.
We'll have to see how this all plays out for McDaniel, but we know one thing: It's fun watching the Left wig out because a media outlet that features Jen Psaki hired an unpopular Republican to provide Republican commentary.

I can't believe what I just witnessed on YOUTUBE▶️.
Tucker Carlson is interviewing John Daly telling some golf stories. One of those stories was about Clinton cheating his golf scores and dropping the ball without a stroke added to the card and what a good golfer Trump was at the tee. After the interview I flipped through YOUTUBE▶️ home and ran across a couple of 4 year old streams from MSNBC news and CNN. Indicating what a cheater Donald Trump was at golf. The exact story in the Tucker Carlson interview told by John Daly said about Clinton. Were now the claims that Trump cheats in his golf game. Guess what network made these claims? MSNBC and CNN.
Trump was right again! Fake News!
BOYCOTT WATCHING THESE NETWORKS TO STOP AND SHUT DOWN MEDIA CORRUPTION AND CENSORSHIP!
