Did you know Chicago’s Cornelia Street leads to the heart of “Boystown”, our famous queer neighborhood. Peep the rainbow crosswalks at Cornelia and Halsted.
June 2nd, first show during PRIDE month, I think calls for Cornelia Street for surprise song in Chicago.
Let’s go! 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

Matteo Lane reminisces about his adventures in Boystown, Chicago.
I also lived on Barry, and while I don't have all the same memories, I have MANY adjacent ones. This was fun to watch as a former "Northalsted" resident.

Sleepless in Chicago
One of mine, February, 2020.
The city doesn't sleep, nor does it intend you to:
North Halsted pre-eminent in this civic whoo-hoo.
One Airbnb bed creaks worse than my own frame;
lesser bed – adjacent – proves, by nature, the same.
First it's the bars, loud-thrumming gaily,
then it's closing time: Goodnight Bill Haley.
Jaunty Ubers 'parp, parp', bidding their fares
but soon turn insistent and begin growling like bears.
Cheery farewells then give way to (some few)
intemperate shouts of 'Yeah? Well, fuck you!'
Red, full-throated, harpies caw en route to a blaze.
Police sirens arrest stragglers, diminish their days.
Try a brew and book? Inadequate rejoinder.
A nocturnal fumble is a ship sure to founder.
The white noise machine proves to be no more puissant;
droning like a hairdryer - making me weep, and
then here come the buses, and the people that forage:
so I give up, get up, and make myself porridge.
Damian: February 2nd, 2020

X-Series
Driven by passion and inspired by night. Made from premium Modal, which is naturally soft on the skin and exceptionally ecological. It is smooth, soft and breathes extremely well. Luxurious and cooling to the touch with same feel qualities as silk. It is also absorbent and less likely to shrink or fade.

pride
Something I think the homophobes get wrong is that pride and the LGBTQ community is all about sex. When having a heated argument with my brother and father about the target pride section that angered them so, I realized that they really believed being proudly queer was all about who you could have sex with. And while there is some truth to that, to diminish the decades of work that queer people have done to increase acceptance and exposure of the queer community is asinine.
While at my best friend's apartment bordering Boystown in Chicago, there was a festival that we didn't know was happening last Saturday evening. We were walking to Wrigleyville for dinner and we heard Lady Gaga blasting from blocks away, and with it, we saw hordes of people of every color of pride walking the streets of Boystown with confidence only found in a community so strong that any lack of such would be considered an inaccurate portrayal of your true self.
Gay couples holding hands, giving each other a peck on the lips, so simple yet so polarizing across the country.
This is what I mean when I say that sexuality isn't all about sex. It's about existence without persecution. It's about leaving us be and allowing whatever identity we settle on to be met with a smile and an "okay, thank you for sharing that with me".
My best friend is as straight as can be, and a true ally, but I don't think she understands the overwhelming happiness I felt at seeing people so comfortable in themselves.
Every day in this godforsaken country queer people are targeted and are murdered, raped, assaulted, and stalked and sometimes it feels like there is no hope for a harmonious future.
But then, I walk through a drag festival in Boystown, and two men hold hands and smile-no fear behind their eyes. Contentment radiating from their bones. And I think, there is hope yet.
