Honestly, I like Black Pearl/Caviar if it's done right. Like, if you give Black Pearl like a mini redemption arc and Caviar is helping her through it, or Caviar being like 'Stronk women is strong and I want to treat her like a God' with BP chilling there, just doing her thing and having no idea he exists.

I find those kinds funny.

But I have seen people make it really toxic or just kinda gross, so I understand why people might dislike it.

I am so fucking happy that the story didn't make pearl out to be irrational

I was terrified that it would be a case of misunderstanding [like abalone stole the pearl or smtn] but no, loyster KNOWS what he did and white pearl is justifiably livid with him.

I originally when bpearl just came out, made a theory as to why she was the way she was

And I'm surprised that while I was right, some extra factors made it all the more heartbreaking to see her get corrupted

But I love that her sisters at thw end still loved her, they didn't think she was a monster or that anything was her fault. Esp crimson, she accepted that their sister was now this giant force and she simply wishes the best for her. A bittersweet ending for their dynamic

On an unrelated note Blue and Yellow Pearl need more love. I mean, they’ve discovered personality. We get a short of their own little logo??? In the movie??? And yet nobody is talking about it, these two are legit. And sassy as hell.

The Human zoo arc was full of bullshit and shouldn't have only been 5 episodes. Everything went against what we were given about Homeworld. There is no lesser opinion between gems bout flaws (ie famethyst). Homeworld has song meaning Peridot is either a social recluse or just plain shit at music and was playing dumb. The gem caste system is really loose. If it was a genuine quad bomb 20 episode arc where Steven lived in the zoo and the gems were left planning a full spring instead of just Steven and Greg it would have been much more satisfying. A slow build up to a big thing like Blue and Yellow showing up acting as a point of exit. Instead at the end we get the Amethyst squad going against everything and just helping spring two humans for no reason except "they're dumb duh". Fuck. Imagine how fucking HYPE "What's the use of feeling blue" would be if it was at the end of a dark trip into space and a human zoo. Imagine that whole arc Pearl posing as one of Whites new Pearls, hanging out with Bpearl and Ypearl. Ruby and Sapphire getting to play forbidden love. Amethyst getting to know the Famethyst over time. All four making friends and getting inside info on Homeworld's progress over the year. Leading up to meeting Yellow and Blue face to face and maybe even giving Topaz and Aquamarine soft intros.

great chapter! wasn't Bpearl reckless in going near the crystal gems base? also i fell that it was rushed steven meeting the crystal gems so soon, but i like the chapter very much!

Yeah, I felt the same. However, the drafts we have where it took longer to meet them were very boring. We chose it well, I assure you.
