People keep saying that Superman and the Regime were right at the end of Injustice 2 and unfairly villainized. That Superman moved to kill Brainiac and Batman flipped out over it, but you have to consider what the story is saying.

Batman has apologized for not being the friend Clark needed after the Joker nuked Metropolis, and is trying to work on that flaw. Superman… isn't. He's still claiming he did nothing wrong, that he killed the Joker to save people rather than him acting out of anger. Superman says he took over the world to keep people safe, but also ordered the destruction of Metropolis and Gotham because people were speaking out against him over executing his friend Lex Luthor. There will never be another indicdent like Metropolis being nuked my ass. He claims he doesn't hurt children, but Billy Batson would disagree with that. Brainac only came to Earth because of his actions, namely depowering and imprisoning the Green Lantern corps. He was excited about being a father because he thought he wouldn't be the only Kryptonian anymore and wouldn't be alone, yet when his actions drive his cousin Supergirl away from him his solution is either to mind control her into serving him or that the threat of doing so would be enought.

Superman does not accept any responsibility for his actions, and he was going to continue from where he left off. It's always Batman's fault for not killing the Joker sooner, or the Joker for making them do this. Never themselves. It's telling that in his perfect world from the comics, Batman would kill the Joker for him and go to prison for it. Either he wishes Batman would have gotten his hands dirty and is punished for it in place of the IRL Batman, or Superman on some level knows that killing the Joker was wrong and he should have went to jail for it but doesn't care.

Yeah. Maybe Brainiac was too dangerous to keep alive but at the moment he's neutralized, and Superman is posed to kill him when he can't fight back. Unlike Harley, he hasn't reflected and reformed. He's just going to do the same shit again and again, giving Batman reason to lash out. The fact the game makes it out that he intends to take his regime to other planets and UNIVERSES, the player picking Absolute Power over Absolute Justice, shows where his actions will lead to.

Which, in turn, leads to him being defeated by He-Man in the comics.
