I got my flu and covid shot today. So I figured I would go visit the park and few restaurants near the cvs.
Walked around Branch Brook Park for about 30 minutes.
I had an Italian style hotdog at a small cafe called Dickie Dees.

I’ve been slowly brewing up little One piece canon compliant head canons. These could be used to write little stories if I or someone else wanted. But I just want to get them out of my head so here you go.
Just an FYI. I’ve only finished pre-timeskip so spoilers for till the end of marineford ig and if something is proven different by Oda or later on in canon. I want y’all to know I really don’t care.
1. When Shanks was visiting Foosha village he had never actually heard of bug fighting neither had almost any of the crew. To little Luffy that was essentially a hate crime and he ran out of the bar so fast all of them thought they had upset the boy. He returned around an hour later with two large bugs in his hands and the crew got to watch them fight. Thoroughly smashed and here to enjoy Luffys interests they got WAY too into the fight and started placing bets and were screaming, cheering for their chosen bug. Never had the town seen so many grown adults so worked up over two bugs on a bar table.
2. Nami helps Usopp with his hair care. Back at Syrup village he normally had the kids help out when it finally needed to be washed. But now on the Going Merry he didn’t exactly trust a man with three swords or Luffy near his hair. And Sanji wasnt much help either. He was scared to ask at first but after Arlong Park Nami agreed and it soon become tradition for them to kick Sanji out of the kitchen for Usopp’s hair day and spend the whole time talking and gossiping. Sanji was and still is jealous about it but it’s completely platonic
3. (continuing after 2) Chopper was the next member to join the ‘hair care club.’ While his hooves aren’t the best for helping out with washing or braiding, and his human form’s hands were too big. He liked hearing about what went into caring for different hair textures. And he just liked to be helpful. However it was through being in the hair care club did Chopper realise that being part human because of his devil fruit meant his fur needed to be washed way more often than it did. And after some trial and error with wash frequency and products, they found the perfect combo that leaves him adorably soft.
4. (also continuing after 2) Robin was the fourth member and was invited to join before the events of Skypia. Nami asking if Robin could braid her hair while she did Usopp’s. But Robin just quietly confessed she had no idea how to braid hair. Seeing as no adult in her life wanted to sit down and teach her at Ohara. Seeing that as an atrocity, the hair care club had their first offical meeting. Where they showed Robin all sorts of braids on both Nami’s hair and Usopp’s
5. (continuing after 4) Robin quietly found herself very proud of the knowledge of knowing how to braid. And on quiet hours on the ship while she was reading and everyone was doing their own quiet things. She often used extra hands to add little braids to Luffy’s hair while he either fished or napped. Luffy is completely aware she is doing this yet never thought to bring it up. He loves little acts of affection from his crew and waking up to braids in his hair never fail to make him smile.
6. (continuing after 2. This is the final one I swear) Brook is the last member of the hair care club. While he lets Chopper check his ‘roots’ and general hair health he actually knows how to do different hair styles for Usopp’s hair texture and happily teaches him as well as the others and now Usopp can finally branch out in hair styles
7. one of Luffy’s favourite pass times is to listen to his crew mates talking about their dreams. He sits at the table listening to Sanji tell tales about the all blue. Or listen to Franky and Robin ramble about work. He listens to Zoro talk about people he wants to fight, and the islands Nami wants to visit. He’ll listen to Chopper’s doctor mumbo jumbo and Usopp talking about plans for new weapons. He loves listening to Brook’s songs but he’ll also hear tales about the skeleton’s old crew and stories of Laboon. He tries to ask questions to sound interested but it normally just gives people the idea he’s not paying attention. So instead he gives them encouragement. Because his favourite part, is seeing the way their eyes light up talking about something their truly passionate about, and the shameless smile they give him knowing their captain would never once make fun of their dream.
8. Robin quickly found comfort in Luffy after joining the crew and for a while she couldn’t figure out why. Until she realised his ‘shishishi’ laugh sounded just like Jaguar D. Saul’s, the giant she met growing up. And when she realised it was the first night she slept soundly on that little boat.
9. After loosing his arm Shanks went through a really annoying yet hilarious adjustment period of getting halfway through a task before realising he needs two hands. His crew always laughed when Shanks did his ‘wait how am I gonna do this’ pause. And while they always help him out when he needs it. They know he will figure out how to open things himself. Hopefully without his teeth.
10. Ace very proudly has a scar on his arm from where Luffy accidentally bit him once way too hard while fighting. When Dadan patched him up and told them it was probably gonna scar Ace was pissed, Luffy was wailing in apologies and Sabo had been dying of laughter that Ace’s first ‘cool fighting scar’ was his brothers teeth mark. Now though? Among the other battle scars Ace’s skin bares. That scar is his favourite story to tell. And all of the Whitebeard pirates know to. Never let their fingers near Luffy’s mouth.

The second apprentice
He looked up with a defiant expression. Too much insolence for such a young boy. I twisted his arm a little more. It wasn't necessary, he was defeated with several of his bones broken, but I couldn't help but test him.
I was going to foster him whatever was his reaction. He was strong enough to be my apprentice. Making me bleed wasn't easy and we're talking about a seven-year-old boy. To be sincere, he was in before we started this battle, but I had to know with what I was working.
"I'll let you go if you apologize," I said, holding his broken wrist. He stayed silent looking into my eyes. I could see a small bright in his eyes and I squeezed again before he could shapeshift again.
Werewolves are taught but easy to handle. They don't have distance attacks and only a few of them can do magic, which isn't combat-oriented. Let distance and with two or three attacks they're yours. A cambion, for his part, can be a true pain in the ass at any distance but with one good blow is over. However, the unexpected offspring of a werewolf and a demon had the worst part of both, well the worst part for me. I was the one who had to fight with a gigantic wolf who could breathe fire and heal at superhuman velocity. If I hadn't squeezed his wrist, it would have been recovered in a few minutes.
"C'mon, Cosmo, apologize," I said. The eyes of the boy soften for the first time. Probably for the unexpected revelation that I knew who he was. I could use his birthday name but his pack had been truly cruel when they named him. Zatrello, whose meaning was who was contaminated. This kind of name was a burden for anyone. I quite understood why he wasn't using it anymore.
"Yes, I know who you are. I was searching for you when you decided to attack me," I said.
"You brook into my home," he finally said. He used his high-pitched childish voice which he tried to make look rough and mature, not getting a good result.
"This's a public park, to be exact the third biggest from the biggest city in the world."
"No one is using it." He shrugged.
"Yes no one is using it because they're terrified of the big black wolf who barks and breathes fire at anyone who enters," I said raising my voice.
"I said that no one was using it, not the reason why." I had to avoid laughing because if I was going to raise that kid, I could reward that kind of behavior. But I must admit that this stubbornness mixed with his lack of worry about the situation was getting my heart.
"You don't feel remorse, do you?" He didn't answer, he didn't need to do it. "I'm here to speak with you and make you an offer. Can I set you free without fear that you attack me again?"
He narrowed his eyes and nodded. I put him on the ground and let go of his wrist.
"Well, my name is..." The sudden sound of a branch breaking drew my attention. My eight-year-old silver-haired apprentice was passing through a bush. His long pointed ears and nose were red due to the cold of the winter. I must have been very slowly fighting Cosmo if the elf could reach me so fast.
"He's gone," he said.
"What?" I looked around noticing that Cosmo wasn't there anymore. I sighed in despair. Finding him had taken me two hours the first time when he didn't know that someone was behind him. I was going to need all night to catch him again.
"You should have broken his legs, not his wrist," my apprentice said passing by my side.
"Thanks for the advice. It would have been unnecessary if someone had waited at the park's entrance as I asked him."
"Waiting is not my style," he said.
"Fantastic, now we have to waste all the night sear..." A strong whimper from some meters ago interrupted me. "What was that?"
My apprentice started to walk towards the sound. "I prepare some bear traps before coming here, just in case."
"That's a pretty good idea." I hadn't discarded any kind of trap because I thought that a more gentle approach would be better with a child. "I taught you well," I said with a proud smile.
"Please, don't overestimate yourself," he said breaking my bubble that I was starting to connect with the silver-haired kid.
The state didn't pay me enough to raise such a brat, and not enough to add the aggressive stubborn wolf to my dysfunctional family.
"Let's go, it's high time you knew your new roommate," I sighed.

Copenhagen Travels - Part II
When you wake up you hear the tinny spidery voices of the girls again
Down the hotel corridor. You like the noises, though they make you lonely;
You’ll never translate what they just said, and yet, the sounds of the tongues
Are brilliant. Up, you get, hot and dehydrated. The bottled water doesn’t taste
Like water as you slug it down. … What shall we do today? Let’s head up to
The military fort, surrounded by water: sounds wacky, intriguing.
When you get outside the air is white and brittle and the flags alongside the
Canal side vibrate in the breeze. … You turn west, taking a new road, turning
Grimy, and loud, with native men in their vehicles and fluorescent workclothes,
Repairing the roads with their tools, yammering back and forth in Danish and
Smoking cigarettes, drinking steamy foam cups of coffee. Ordinary men, non-tourists,
Starting their day jobs. … At the end of the street is some gargantuan building
Resembling something like a mammoth white tent, with a jumbo logo MAERSK
On the tall side. As you venture you hear an apocalyptic boom booming of some
Kind of machinery that actually scares you even though you’re on civilian land.
As you pass the innocent stalls with their magnets and glitter globes; and dotted
By these are the seafood cafes, wherein, through the back windows you see
The young folks gearing the kitchen up for the long dreary shifts ahead. …
They’ve turned what used to be the army fort into a tourist attraction: though
There are still army folks that reside there. Nearby the premise there is a museum
Of the Danish Resistance Movement, from World War Two. And close by it
The statue of a man holding a stone rifle in weatherbeaten cyan, looking crestfallen.
It’s crazy how often this particular war crops up in Europe. And, how you can
Feel the aftermath of the Nazis even in a barren oceanic place such as this.
Seventy five years back those rancid tyrants would have been here, marring these
Very docks … But it’s also a fair thing to know that there were men & women
Who stood up to those fiends. Even if it took other powers to fully end their fantasy.
You walk through the park, where the blossom trees are in a confetti pink against
The straights of water which reflect the grey clouds a few miles upwards.
On the far distance are the other hulking factories with their chimneys and rapt echoes.
You get to the famous Den lille Havfrue statue, stranded on a boulder a few metres
Above the water height. It’s a tiny affair, and nice ornament. And though it’s
Early in the morning, is already surrounded by folks snapping on their phones.
Good to know that literary icons still inspire attraction. Even though the
Fairy Tales that we all know are as mucked up and perverse and violent
As anything else can be in global storytelling. ... Stuck on the banisters
Nearby the statue are all kinds of stickers in a meddly of pop art; a range of
Rock bands and music venues up town and there are soccer badges and motifs
Of social movements too. ... You head on from the Little Mermaid and come across
This other statue, of a nude woman nursing her baby. You don’t know the story there.
Is it a monument for the woman, or her infant? The name on the front of it doesn’t
Connect with you. Onwards you go, climbing up the hills of the park. Inside the hills
There is a hexagonical moat. And, on the side of it, an Anglican church that, as you
Approach, ding dangs out the clanky tune when the Hour strikes on point.
The building is half depressed and half handsome in the sombre light.
And by the kirkyards and slinking onto the moat water are these tall willow
Trees that draipse their branches into the mini abyss in quiet drowning.
There is a willow that grows aslant the brook, indeed. Though you doubt
Ophelia will be making much appearances in tourist land, except perhaps
By night and when the castle lands have closed down. ...
Atop the mounds of the fort you can see out for some distance across this
End of the city. And then one of those navy ships hurtles down the port water.
The sailors scurry about the flanks of the vessel in minature mania.
You go to take a short film of the boat on your phone bit it moves real fast
And your lens doesn’t capture the focus well enough. Hey ho.
Walking down to the land-fort, you pass another group of soldiers.
They’re holding real guns. You really don’t know anything about guns
Aside from in movies, and it’s always tantalising when you’re that close
To them in the flesh. The soldiers are babyfaced and probably younger than
You are ... but, they’re all clad in camoflague, and hold these weapons,
And so you get a little prickly by being near them, and you head out of the
Security gates, expecting some kind of dodgy thing to happen to you.
Alls well, though, and you exit safe and then head back into the city.
A few times, at length on the horizon, you’ve seen the dome of a church
In pulsating note, a handful of times. So you reckon you’ll head over there
To see if you can go in. Along the streets, the cyclists fizzle by, and the sun
Comes up in brief spurts of loud yellow, and you get to the church in short
Time and, yes, you are allowed to go in. Many other folks have had the same
Idea as you, and when you enter the atrium there are maybe thirty folks
Scattered about the long benches leading up to the podium, and all under
The planetarium-like dome reaching apwards 200 ft. Watercolour artwork
And alabaster masonry align the perfectly circular walls, and you wonder
The architectural feat of the people who made this place so long ago.
And what’s more wondrous is how hushed thirty strangers in a huge
Room can be when inside the vicinity of a mighty church – for – you
Can barely hear anything save the silent ticking wonder of the crowd
Spanning their eyes around the innards of the dome. Seems like religion
Still has a little relevance, in terms of peace, amidst the wrath and confusion
Of the modern age elsewhere. ... A building to respect. You leave after a
Short while. And head out exploring unto another district of the town.

Hey Chatte hope all is well! I saw your special Narusakra comic and your most recent post on IG showing off the Crown of the Sun for Sakura. Can’t wait to read & see how she gets there. I saw a lot of awesome pieces for NarSaukra day so I want to thank you and the rest of the community for keeping it alive.
I have been rereading Kaika and the chapters 11-13 so far are my favorite. I’m excited to how you are going to make the aliens/gods work and to be honest you have done a better than the canon. As for everyone’s favorite snake sanin I’m interested to how he ends in the plot. While personally I didn’t care for him be a “good” guy in canon in the present. He will always be a creature of habit and self serving. So I’m excited. Also a headcannon I thought of regarding him and Shina’s Gen. He would be interested Shina the most compared to the U twins probably feed up with Uchilas in general. Also given the fact that he probably shoot’s himself for overlooking Naruto and Sakura originally for the more polished product in Sauake. Shina also looking and sharing personality with Minmato would be funny because he would take as Minmato ghost coming back and trolling him. Best part is Shina would have no idea how much his presence would be triggering for him lol.
One last point it’s a little something I wanted to share with you. So I used to live in this suburb next to Newark NJ, USA and in Newark there is this section called Forest Hills. This neighborhood is famous for two reasons one is its old fashion mansions and Branch Brooke Park, which has over 5,000 Japanese cherry blossoms trees planted there. They have their own cherry blossoms festival and everything.
Hiii dear, welcome back again to my inbox!
Glad to hear you liked the NaruSaku special and Sakura's Crown of the Sun art.
To be honest, can't wait to get there myself. I have sooo many interesting ideas about how she gets it. Too many even, lol. I finally got to understand what other writers were meaning when they said you will get to discard some ideas at some point.
In the beginning I was like naa, I won't be doing that. But with time the ideas developed so much, that I see no other way than to drop a few from the beginning or better said, reform some of them to fit the new, updated idea lol.
Also thank you for your kind words. It is my pleasure, and many other artists, I'm sure, to keep the community alive.
After all, it's just pure love for them and that's it. We're free of the shackles of canon, so yay for us!
Now, to get back to Kaika.
First of all, thank you once again for your compliments! I'm so happy to see you liked what - at least - I'm trying to do there with the Otsutsukis.
I believe that the idea with them was not bad. It's the execution that's problematic, imo. That's why I tried to take a different route with them, while still referencing the canon element. I will be referencing a lot of elements from the OG franchise, because I do like the idea. I just don't like the execution.
As for Orochimaru well... We have a here saying in my country that says the wolf changes its fur, but not its habits.
What I can say is that, that's what I'll follow. Narratively as well.
Because like you said, deep down, he's a creature of habit. Habits are our second nature. That's why it's not that easy to change one self and you first gotta change your habits.
In OG it is shown to us that Oro didn't actually changed his habits at all, he is just being let loose. Which narratively makes so little sense?
You tell me that the man who basically put in motion everything that we've been witnessing along the path of Naruto manga, is just going to be left to do whatever he wants because... he's a necessary evil?
That's not how you act with the necessary evil. You don't let it loose and just barely keep him under supervision, imo.
If anything, he's a "joker" type of character. You never know when he's gonna pop off the box to scare ya away with some machiavellian ploy.
As for your headcanon of him and Shina, well, there is a common element in there that we have. I can't say that he's fed-up with the Uchihas (after all, Uchihas were his obsession), but...
I have a certain idea in mind about the path I have with him and him overlooking Naruto & Sakura's family, generally, because well, Sakura Haruno doesn't come from any prestigious clan that could benefit his pursuits, right?
And yet, surprise-surprise, the ones you least expect are the ones who get to bring the biggest turnarounds.
The thing is, I have two routes I want to take with him in terms of his eventual demise and I'm undecided on which side to go with, lol.
One involved him and Tsunade and was kinda dramatic, and the other one involves NaruSaku family, ironically. So I really don't know which way to go.
Because all this will be happening in Kaika Shinsei's timeline, which I am yet to settle.
I guess I'll see after I finish writing Saisei how things evolve until then, so that'll probably help me decide.
And WOOW, thank you so much for sharing that piece of info with me?! I ADORE cherry blossoms.
I grew-up with them and other types of blossoms, so for me, spring blossoms, especially cherry ones, are very special.
Actually the city where I moved has some parks filled with
I dream of travelling to Japan one day and live the original cherry blossoms season experience. But until then I enjoy the wanna-be one from here haha.
ANyway, thanks once again for the ask. Hope you have an amazing rest of your time today/tonight. <3
