This is a dokra crafted maa Durga brass figurine. Dokra or Dhokra is an ancient Indian brass art and tribal craft which has been living through over 4000 years. This art form started in the period of one of the oldest societies, Mohenjo- Daro. The simplicity of this primitive Indian handicraft has always attracted people. Dokra is principally a non-ferrous ornon-iron grounded casting of essence using lost- wax casting. Dokra is a very rarely found and high demand craft nowadays. This award-winning room is unmistakably French - whether in Directoire, Empire, or contemporary style... The Directoire reproduction bed from Paul M. Jones Inc. is made of brushed steel with polished brass trim; it is outfitted with a simple linen from Alan Campbell.

Oof, this one is brutal: brass figurine from Southern Ghana or Mali depicting a leopard attacking a man (20th c.).
It comes from the Manchester School of Art Collection on JSTOR, which includes 400+ additional images open to everyone.

Tiny war hammer! I had to make the rivets myself from 12g house wire. This is going to be part of a gallery showing about tiny things, what should I make next?

NIVEN'S GARDEN GAME
Virginia slate, fossiliferous Indiana limestone, Georgia foliated serpentine/talc, sandblasted glass, brass, stoneware
10"x 14½"x 1½"
What I imagine the game might be like in the metaphorical interstellar garden of author Larry Niven . . . an homage.
Larry Niven is an American science fiction author whose best-known work is Ringworld, which received Hugo, Locus, Ditmar, and Nebula awards. His work is primarily hard science fiction, using big science concepts and theoretical physics (see Freeman Dyson for the genesis of Ringworld). The creation of thoroughly worked-out alien species as protagonists in his novels is recognized as one of Niven's main strengths.
