Last week I had a situation at my job that made me feel bit sad… It is just me that can’t learn some subjects alone and need someone that teaches at least the necessary to go forward? Of course I need to have my experiences with the subject, but it is like learning to drive, you can’t just seat and drive to have the experience to say ‘Driving is like this’ first you need someone to tell you what the things inside the car do to try or at least a manual to consult, am I wrong? It’s not like I don’t want to try doing things by myself it is that I want to know the bare minimum to start, if don’t know what a car is how can I drive?

Beside that I’m happy with my studies I reviewed some “authentication methods”. And the Twice’s TT Vocabulary that posted was well received (I think?) so I’m considering to post all my music vocabulary studies here maybe…

Long time not posting here, my life is passing for some changes right now… Listened Day6 new song today Zombie and felt some kind of.. I don’t know.. related (?), but just for some aspects of my life work routine. Maybe is just the feeling of not doing something meaningful, but everyday doing the same things, really don’t know, but this song talk to me in some kind of way, with just one listen I was humming the chorus already lol.

Anyways I’ve been faithful to my studies routine on April, hope I can be on May too. So let’s be happy this month too!

Studyblr Introduction

I’ve had this blog for a while, even posted some original content. But I’ve been away and it’s been some time that I’ve wanted to get into it properly again. So here’s my introduction.

What I’m currently doing:

Since Brazil is fully quarantined and my university opted for suspending all classes instead of replacing them for online education, for the past month I haven’t been able to be productive at all.

So, to fix that (since not being productive takes a tool on my mental health) my friends and I decided to write a review article that is going to be published on Latindex! The general theme is cardiology. And the specific theme is clinical implications of myocardial bridging.

I’m also on a never ending battle on learning French. It’s been difficult, but I’m getting the hang of it! Are any langblrs out there willing to teach me? I’ll teach you Portuguese!

E pra iniciar, a minha queridinha, UFMG ❤️

Like & reblog são bem vindos <3

A) Black Mirror
Filosofia, Sociologia.

B) A 13ª Emenda

C) A Onda

E) The Crown

F) O Show de Truman

G) Muito Além do Jardim

H) A Origem

I) Sociedade dos Poetas Mortos

L) Que horas ela volta?

Today I studied Portuguese grammar. That was the only thing I could kind of absorb, but the truth is, it wasn’t much work, as grammar is my strong point. I had planned to study grammar + literature and practice for the essay, but with all the stress in the atmosphere, I spent most of the day in bed, again.

What I studied today:

Portuguese

  1. Use of relative, undefined and interrogative pronouns
  2. Cultured norm and spoken language
  3. Linguistic variations (diachronic, or Historical; diatopic, of a Geographic, Regional, or Dialectal nature; of Social or Cultural nature; diaphasic, of a Situational or Expressive nature)
  4. Figures of speech (metaphor, comparison, metonymy, catachresis, periphrasis, synesthesia)
image

I spent about 40 minutes focusing on English content. English is the language I use most to write, mainly because my girlfriend is American and does not speak a word of Portuguese, but also because I prefer to write poetry in English, so taking an exam in English is really not that difficult. But as things can get so natural that we end up forgetting “technical terms,” it’s good to review stuff for the exam. Also, I spent a couple of hours focusing on History (answered 20 questions and got 18 right!), before finally, finally practicing for the essay! (Didn’t turn out too well, but OK…)

Anyway, I’m so happy that I somehow managed to get out of bed at 10 a.m. today! Feeling quite productive all day, even if still quite frustrated/anxious.

What I studied today:

English

  1. Countable and countless nouns in the English language
  2. False cognates and nominal groups
  3. Present perfect

History

  1. Cultural heritage
  2. Prehistory (Paleolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic)
  3. Mesopotamia

idk how it works in other countries, but in Brazil you need to do an undergraduate final project. I need to start mine now and finish in the next year or I will graduate even later than I planned. But now the teacher who was my advisor in my undergraduate research/scientific initiation project and was going to help me through the damn final project left my college and I’m in panic because I need to find a new one like… Next week. I will need to restart in a whole new area because we don’t have another professor in the area I worked before and I’m panicking oh god help me
i probably wrote everything wrong but i’m too tired to think sdjfhsakdfhasldfhuifsk

025/026: Work Hard, Play Hard!

For a picture of me and my best friend being happy and drunk, see above!

The past couple of days have been awesome! Mostly socializing and making new friends, strengthening my bonds with old friends, and all that good stuff! Being up all night and running out of battery on my phone is why last night there was not post on this blog, but I suppose that’s a valid reason, given my goals!

Tonight I was at a party with other economics students and we had a blast! Lots of drinking games, innuendo, giving and receiving advice, just the kind of social interaction I was looking for!

Hoping I can get some coursework done tomorrow. See you then!

022: Free, At Last!

Finally took the final Real Analysis test, and I’m pretty sure I aced it, so all that’s left is preparing some assignments in LaTeX, and then I’ll be done.

During the afternoon, I alternated between trying to implement the Gale-Shapley algorithm for stable matchings (in a very simple setting) and reading the book above, which is by my beloved Stephen King!

From now on, since I’ll have some extra time to devote to my side projects (including this blog), I’ll try to make printables, or review books more in-depth, or just make posts with study tips and things of the sort!
