Daily Spells: August 1st

Bread Baking for Spell Abundance

You’ll Need:

Your favorite bread recipe and ingredients

A pastry brush

Melted butter

The first day of august is celebrated as Lammas, which is modern translation of the Old-English phrase blaf-maesse, which means loaf mass. As the grain is harvested, bread is baked and blessed, and there is a sense that home is of crucial importance. Grain has become associated with the concept of life, death, and rebirth, and bread itself represents the harvested grain being baked so it can feed our families. Bread ties in perfectly with magic for good health and abundance.

Prepare your bread according to the recipe. Before you place it in the oven, dip the brush in the melted butter and paint the word ABUNDANCE along the top of the loaf. Bake as directed and allow your bread to cool. As you slice it up, say “Abundance for you and abundance for me. Abundance times two, abundance times three. Slice it up and share it around, blessings for everyone shall be found.”

Serve it with your dinner that night, and know that abundance and blessings are heading towards your family.

So don’t tell them! - Monsters are still made of dust in my AU, but they are more physical than their Undertale counterparts, only slightly… - Both Humans and Monsters cannot do magic freely. They would need to go through extensive training to get…a Wizard license! :O - It’s strange, but the Monsters seem more human than the actual humans in this world…huh…

Prosperity Bread

note: bread in general is good as an offering and for grounding. However, you can add toppings such as sigils and herbs depending on your intent.

you'll need:

3 cups warm water

2 1/4 (1 pkg) dry yeast

1 tbsp sugar

6 cups flour

3 tsp salt

for topping:

melted butter

rosemary; blessings, positivity

basil; happiness, money

garlic; protection

shredded cheese (opt)

in a large bowl, combine water, yeast, and sugar. let sit until bubbly (5 min)

add flour and salt. mix until combined into a slightly sticky dough. cover loosely with plastic wrap and a towel. let rise for 3 hours.

preheat oven to 450 degrees. melt butter and combine with other toppings (leave cheese out if using)

divide dough into 2 loaves. cover with butter mixture (sprinkle on cheese if desired) and cut X into centers of the loaves.

Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.

use as an offering, share with friends, or enjoy as a snack :)

Purple Family headcanons

(Warning for domestic violence)

• Cherry was the main bread-earner in the family,

in the avm ep 29 we see how Cherry cares about Purple and disapproves of Navy's actions, yet, only later she steps in. Personally I think that Cherry didn't know that Navy's training escalated, which is why she didn't get involved sooner. Navy however was shown predominantly in Purple's childhood which is why I assume that he was mostly at home, training and teaching Purple. We barely know how stick-society works, but it seems similar to ours. Cherry was a busy and hardworking stick earning the money, which is why she didn't find out about it. (Also because Purple was too afraid to tell her about it and lied about how they got the bruises and all)

• While Navy was the house-spouse,

Since he is shown to "prepare" Purple for the world, he taught them a lot of other things to be self-sufficient like basic cooking, cleaning, sewing and so on.

• Other thing is that Navy is a minimalistic utilitarian

And is also very strict with the resources, the type to use something till it's completely useless. So, slowly annoyance from little Purple being messy and sloppy with work because they're literally just a CHILD turn into frustration and then to aggression to the point of getting verbally and physically abusive towards Purple, which both Purple and Navy considered "normal" because it wasn't like Purple wouldn't get hit in training.

• Cherry completely cut off contact with Navy to protect Purple

While Navy left on own accord, it was Cherry who after finding out how Navy treated Purple who more or less forced Navy to do so. She was afraid of Navy too because she now knew of what he was capable of. And even though Navy raised his hand in the heat of the moment, he then realised what he was doing and decided to leave. Not only because he almost hurt his loved one but also because said loved one rejected him and that left Navy heartbroken. Cherry made sure that Navy wouldn't ever come close to Purple with what he had done to them but didn't tell Purple anything about it. We only see their backstory through Purple's POV. Because of that Purple believe it was all their fault for the falling apart of their parents and how heartbroken Cherry was, though, it was because she believed to have failed Purple as a parent.

Note: While I use she/her for Cherry and he/him for Navy, it's not because I think of them as female and male but to have it be easier to understand. Personally, I don't see them being any gender because it doesn't matter.

its actually criminal that born of bread has only like 5 fans. Im in shambles that game is everything to me it has so many characters that tumblr would love this is insane

Its a paper mario inspired rpg where you play as a little bread boy who was literally just born a few days ago

theres a raccoon whos also a writer who was stuck in the woods for months and you need to help him find his family

theres a goat who will take any opportunity to beat the shit out of people. Also he and his rival are in love and are going to open a dojo together

theres a little autistic girl whos special interest is mysteries and crime solving and she throws her lantern at things to light them on fire. This isnt the only character who can get away with committing arson regularly

Theres a cool ass bard girlie that starts out as one of the main villains but switches sides near the end of the game because she realizes her friends plan is absolutely insane. Also her guitar doubles as a grappling hook. GRAPPLING HOOK. GUITAR. How fucking cool is that

The main villain of this game is just a little boy who has daddy issues. Like he commits various crimes to fulfill his dads plan of restoring their empire but the spell his dad wrote to do that LITERALLY INVOLVES KILLING THE KID. LIKE HE HAS TO GIVE UP HIS LIFE TO RESTORE THE EMPIRE AND HIS DAD LITERALLY REWROTE THE FUCKING SPELL FOR IT TO DO THAT. Game please give him a break pleasw
