A Jesus account on tumblr?
With Brian May on it's header?
With an ask page called "consult the rabbi"?
With a pinned post "in case of zombies"?
👍 😎 Sounds legit!
... well, I kinda caused the zombies, sooo......
Look, can I confide something in you?
I have never felt remotely qualified for this job.
Brian May is one of My favorites and when his vessel passes I'm gonna snatch that soul right out of its body and bring it to Heaven with me. No Death, no Judgement, no Purgatory, he's perfect already.
That, and we have no good guitarists up there. I even got Jimmy Page out of Hell recently, and I had to send him back because he got unnerved and missed Robert Johnson. (Who is a huge celebrity down there btw.)

Announcing Maycury Week 2022
Tumblr media
It's Brian's birthday again and this time he's turning 75! 35 he's totally turning 35, really. We love him very much here, and so it's time to give him the very best we can imagine - meaning Freddie of course!
Maycury Week this year will run from Freddie's birthday, Sept 5 - Sept 11. We've prepared four prompts for each day: a quote, an AU, a situation, and a song.
Rules! It's Maycury Week, so the central pairing should be Freddie and Brian, whether you want that to be Platonic or Romantic. No word count requirements, poetry music and imagery are as welcome as stories, and the prompts are only for inspiration - if you have an idea that doesn't match any prompt, we will be thrilled to see that too!
There will be a collection on AO3 which will go live the weekend before, as well as a round up of Tumblr posts at the end. Please tag everything “#Maycury Week 2022” so we can find it.
Let's get to it! Here are this year's prompts!
Monday - Moon - themes: emotions, instincts, habits, mood, unconscious
Quote: “I’m sorry, I think this was actually yours.”
AU: Soulmates AU
Scenario: Brian and Freddie mirror one another's behaviors
Song: Soul Brother
Tuesday - Mars - themes: action, desire, aggression, motivation, sex, competition, courage, precision
Quote: “Look, I know you said you wanted to tear it up, but I didn’t think this was what you meant!”
AU: Pirates AU
Scenario: Injury recovery
Song: Seven Seas of Rhye
Wednesday - Mercury - themes: communication, intellect, reason, language, intelligence
Quote: “But do dreams ever end? Haven’t you found yourself in a dream you had seen before?”
AU: Detective AU
Scenario: Rubberducking (Brian explains a problem he’s stuck on to Freddie and figures it out on his own by the end of the explanation.)
Song: White Queen (As It Began)
Thursday - Jupiter - themes: expansion, optimism, abundance, good fortune, luck, growth, understanding
Quote: “I don’t have a reason for it, but everything just seems a little better now.”
AU: Gilded Age
Tumblr media
Scenario: Sheltering from the rain in this restaurant when the sun comes out
Song: Back to the Light
Friday - Venus - themes: love, beauty, art, attraction, relationships, harmony
Quote: "If we can find a place we actually belong, where we're at peace, who's to deny us?"
AU: Solarpunk
Scenario: A rooftop garden walk
Song: Bijou
Saturday - Saturn / Pluto - themes: restriction, pessimism, structure, goals, ambition, responsibility / transformation, obsession, power, control, death, rebirth, evolution
Quote: “You either surrender, or you take over, make a change.”
AU: Willy Wonka
Scenario: Chocolate Factory Tour (doesn't have to be connected to the AU)
Song: Is This the World We Created…?
Sunday - Sun - themes: self, main concerns, vitality, personality, ego
Quote: “Well, that’s the fear, isn’t it?  Losing yourself, to have someone.”
AU: Runaways / Escape
Scenario: Helping one another cross difficult terrain
Song: Living On My Own
General rules: Everyone is welcome! But hate is not, so please: Don’t Interact With Trolls. If you feed them they just come back for more! Stick to Freddie/Brian for romantic or Freddie&Brian for platonic as the primary relationship, and let’s give Brian the best possible 75th birthday! no it's totally his 35th
(Please bring any questions you may have to our ask box.  Thanks to @plainxte for our header, and @freddie-mercurial for starting this glorious tradition!)

@callmethehunter tagged me to do this “get to know my blog” kinda thing, and I love this stuff so here we fuckin goooo!
Tumblr media
Header: 1970 Rob and Jim being handsome devils and gorgeous angels all at once 🥲
Icon: 1982 Robert entering his ultimate daddy era🔥
Description: A place where I can live my 60s and 70s fantasy with others who have the same tastes and interests in music as I do!
Content: Fanfiction. My master list is pinned. I also talk about any kind of media, predominantly from the 60s and 70s, but also British comedy from the 80s and 90s. I talk a lot about Led Zeppelin, Queen, and Aerosmith, along with other bands of the same genre. But I also enjoy later stuff such as Guns n Roses, Nirvana, Marilyn Manson… as well as some current artists I really enjoy like Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish.
I’m also a film fanatic, and have recently obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Film and Television Studies, so occasionally I might post about my favourite films and Dustin Hoffman, who is my favourite actor.
I sometimes post updates on the book I’m writing on growing up undiagnosed with autism, and my Brian May series. But 95% of my content is focused on Robert Plant and fanfiction about him. (I also post my singing occasionally)
Background colour: an earthy orangey kinda colour(?)

URL Meaning: bijouxcarys comes from multiple sources. Bijou comes from two: the first being one of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard in my entire life, which is Bijou by Queen, where Brian May offers a captivating landscape of enchanting melodies with his Red Special guitar. It also comes from my days of partaking in the art of drag when I was 18. My drag name was ‘Lola Bijou.’ Carys is pretty self explanatory… it’s my name :)
Blog Title Meaning: …if you know, you know. Paraphrasing The Lemon Song by Led Zeppelin, where Robert wails about his lemons… and a woman squeezing them so hard he falls right outta bed. Hehe. 🍋 🍋
I tag: @celestial-dragoness @jimmysdragonsuit13 and @whothefuckisanja + anyone else who wants to do it! Create your own post to avoid an unnecessarily long reblog thread💕

Quick Strikes Down Highlanders
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bearden 6 at Gatlinburg-Pittman 2
Monday, May 1, 2023 6pm
GATLINBURG—Bearden had to work a bit harder than expected to shake off a stubborn Gatlinburg-Pittman 6-2 Monday on a rare trip to the Smokies.
The first period saw a spirited and swarming Highlander squad hold their own against the top-ranked Bulldogs for twenty-five minutes, before Lucas Nordin, Daniel Kinney, and Hayden Tate all struck within a two-minute span to suddenly take a 3-0 lead to halftime.
Kinney’s goal was extra special, as the sophomore midfielder celebrated his birthday with his first varsity goal, in addition to a scintillating slide tackle steal resulting in an assist on fellow sophomore Lucas Ford’s emphatic second-half blast.
Hustling midfielders Chandler Donohoe and Jack Tirgrath, plus Captain Harrison Schwall all had assists, while Hamid Djouadi and Omar Hewezi had second half goals to aid the victory.
Steadfast junior defender Shepard McMurray showcased his skills in the second half with a nice defensive header, a crucial settle and clear inside the eighteen, and two timely clears from the backfield.
Bearden dominated possession throughout, and outshot G-P 34-9 (19-5 on goal) in securing the victory, but still surrendered two goals late in the game for the first time this season. The Bulldog Defense is still on track, however, to set the season record for fewest goals allowed—they have given up a stingy 10 on the year, versus 16 by the 2016 State Championship team.
Goals: LUCAS NORDIN (31’ assist-Hamid Djouadi); DANIEL KINNEY (32’ Hayden Tate); HAYDEN TATE (33’ Jack Tirgrath); HAMID DJOUADI (65’ Harrison Schwall); G-P (66’); LUCAS FORD (72’ Daniel Kinney); G-P (77’); OMAR HEWEZI (77’ Chandler Donohoe).
Shots/Shots-on-goal: BHS 34/19 G-P 9/5. Corners: BHS 7 G-P 1. Fouls: BHS 3 G-P 3. Cards: none. Conditions: artificial turf FB field, windy, cloudy, 55 degrees. Attendance: 177.
Outside the box...the game was officiated Monday by a two-man crew...a big ‘Woof!’ to Brian Ford and his Elastic Pictures for letting me hitch a ride to the ‘highlands’ for Monday’s game--Brian and his able assistant Connor do a magnificent job video recording all the Bulldog games...upon further review, Hamid Djouadi has been credited with the assist on Bearden’s second goal back on April 13 at Hardin Valley. This now gives the senior midfielder 5 assists on the season...Woof!

Lumen’s Dividend Cut Highlights Effectiveness of Valuentum’s Dividend Methodology and Uniqueness of Dividend Cushion Ratio
Tumblr media
By Brian Nelson, CFA
The Dividend Cushion ratio considers the company’s net cash on its balance sheet (total cash less long-term debt) and adds that to its forecasted future free cash flows (cash from operations less capital expenditures) over a five-year period and divides that sum by the company’s future expected cash dividend payments over the next five years.
At its core, the Dividend Cushion ratio tells investors whether the company has enough cash to pay out its dividends in the future, while considering its debt load (capital structure). If a company has a Dividend Cushion ratio above 1, it can cover its dividend, but if it falls below 1, trouble may be on the horizon.
The Dividend Cushion ratio is found within each company’s Dividend Report on its respective stock landing page, which can be found using the ticker search function at the top right of Valuentum.com (in the header of the website). We update our Dividend Reports on companies regularly, and we encourage members to check the Dividend Cushion ratios on their dividend growth and income investments periodically.
Even subtle changes in the Dividend Cushion ratio could reveal the trajectory of dividend health.
Lumen Is a Quintessential Example of the Differentiation and Effectiveness of the Dividend Cushion Ratio Relative to Dividend Payout Ratios and Even Cash Flow Coverage Ratios
Lumen Technologies (LUMN), a provider of cloud storage and IT solutions as well as IP and data applications, announced in its third-quarter press release November 2 that it will eliminate its stock dividend and that there would be no dividend paid in the fourth quarter of 2022. Lumen’s Dividend Cushion ratio, a measure we calculate to assess the likelihood of a dividend cut (the lower the ratio, the worse) stood at -3.9 (negative 3.9) at the time of the cut.
Tumblr media
Image Source: Lumen’s stock page on Valuentum’s website.
A lot of times investors only focus on the dividend payout ratio – dividends paid per share divided by earnings per share – or free cash flow coverage of the dividend, but the balance sheet is so very important to the sustainability of the dividend, too – something that the Dividend Cushion ratio embraces but other dividend health metrics do not.
For example, Lumen’s dividend payout ratio was 50% ($0.75 in dividends dividend by $1.50 in earnings per share during the first three quarters of the year), and its free cash flow was enough to cover its cash dividends paid during the first nine months of 2022, too. Free cash flow generation was $1.7 billion during the first three quarters of 2022, while cash dividends paid came in at $780 million.
However, the company held a massive ~$25 billion net debt position at the end of the quarter, which pushed its Dividend Cushion ratio deep into negative territory, raising a huge red flag with respect to the sustainability of the payout. Ignoring the balance sheet both with respect to intrinsic value and dividend analysis could be a recipe for disaster. Other metrics are lacking when they ignore the important analytical information contained on the balance sheet.
Concluding Thoughts
Shares of Lumen have languished this year, and the firm authorized up to a $1.5 billion, two-year share repurchase program, but even that may be ill-advised as the firm retains a mountain of net debt, which should be pared down. The company doesn’t need any more leverage.
The writing was on the wall with respect to concerns over the sustainability of LUMN’s dividend payout, not only with respect to its tremendously weak and deeply negative Dividend Cushion ratio, but also as it relates to the company’s share price action. We will be dropping coverage of LUMN in the coming quarters, but what a great example that showcases the effectiveness of our dividend methodology.
Make sure you are paying attention to your Dividend Cushion ratios >>

About Our Name
But how, you will ask, does one decide what [stocks are] "attractive"? Most analysts feel they must choose between two approaches customarily thought to be in opposition: "value" and "growth,"...We view that as fuzzy thinking...Growth is always a component of value [and] the very term "value investing" is redundant.
-- Warren Buffett, Berkshire Hathaway annual report, 1992
At Valuentum, we take Buffett's thoughts one step further. We think the best opportunities arise from an understanding of a variety of investing disciplines in order to identify the most attractive stocks at any given time. Valuentum therefore analyzes each stock across a wide spectrum of philosophies, from deep value through momentum investing. And a combination of the two approaches found on each side of the spectrum (value/momentum) in a name couldn't be more representative of what our analysts do here; hence, we're called Valuentum.

Harnessing the Art of Dark Magic… Ink (Creating Generative Value)
Tumblr media
Note: Pictured above is a piece made by myself. It serves as the header image for my Tumblr website and Twitter profile account. It’s likely the first thing visitors will see besides my avatar right underneath it. It suggests themes surrounding fantasy and gives visitors the idea of it and what to expect from me. I realized the heavy amount of ink used for this one and thought it would’ve been perfect for Inktober, and Halloween season in general. Too bad I drew this one way early to match any of this year’s prompts.
We are well underway into Inktober, where those who dares brave and endure the month-long challenge of drawing 31 given prompts while honing their artistic minds to a razor’s edge. That might have sounded a bit too dramatic but not as dramatic as this recent news article I found. The Digital Journal says that American artist Allan Linder just produced 10 pieces for Inktober in advance using artificial intelligence. The fact that he’s also selling them on the side as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for a dollar per copy convinced me that he’s probably making thousands by now.
I’ll attempt to personalize myself with this particular area of art that I’m honestly not that familiar with. Seriously, using pen and pencils is simple enough, but taking it further by assimilating it with advanced technology that’s possibly capable of consciousness is just intimidating to me. It’s not that I’m completely against the overwhelming impressiveness of AI art processes, I find this topic hard to ignore. It forced me to research further and I came across another fresh article that is just as disturbing as the first. Brian Jackson discusses the likelihood of a future where visual artists working at various creative fields would become nearly obsolete. That’s enough to confirm one of my worst fears. Could you imagine the majority of artists, new and old, depending mostly on AI to create their masterpieces for them just to stay relevant? It’s still technically art but also more like a trend. The traditional way of working with your hands and knowing the struggles around it would soon just be seen as a hassle. And now, how will people naturally get better at drawing by themselves? There’s less cause to get motivated since drawing can be programmed instead! I’d calm myself down by chuckling at how Bob Ross would probably be rolling in his grave right now.
I suppose an issue like this is inevitable, similar to the controversies behind copyrighted art materials. Apparently, the art community that’s supposedly a safe progressive environment to express ideas can also fall victim to controversies. For example, Inktober is great for anyone to practice their drawing skills plus the support you get from others to keep going but back in December 2019, foreign parties began claiming the decade-old Inktober for themselves to which the creator himself Jake Parker ultimately copyrighted it, consequently disappointing half the art community. At least this was socially recoverable since many continued with the challenge even today.
I understand that whenever technology is involved in the world of art, a lot of people may not be able to comprehend the complexity of the situation. So, to put it bluntly, I think that traditional art is dying and deliberately getting replaced by automated computers. I’m not just talking about Faber-Castell going bankrupt or graphite pencils ending up forgotten in museums one day (don’t be ridiculous), I’m saying that the cultures around the world that involves traditional/cultural paintings is going to struggle to survive throughout the digital era unless proper intervention, awareness, preservation, and people who are either too stubborn or determined steps in. Thankfully, achieving fresh ideas is the common aim for both human and AI with basic mind-producing creative instincts and insufferable algorithm learning respectively.
Otherwise, these cultural and potentially sacred representations of art would be recreated by AI by everyday programmers or digital artists who do it for money. The value and social connections of teachings/legacies of these knowledges on traditional art techniques would soon be lost or extremely rare. Apologies for forecasting such a gloomy atmosphere. I know that with technology in hand it should serve us well and I think many would say it brings prosperity to the art community and the visual aesthetics people will keep on generating for years to come. So that’s why I’ll befittingly end this post with a very touching and relaxing scene from Detroit: Become Human. In it, the elderly artist encourages his android assistant to paint whatever it wants. One thing that I believe everyone can agree on is that both people and AI can paint beautifully.
