Summary: Reader has a heart defect where you have a hard time breathing whilst running with your siblings.
Tumblr media
Chatter filled the park as the Bridgerton’s arrived. Anthony in the front, looking over his shoulder to reply to Colin’s remark. Francesca running past him with Gregory. Eloise and Benedict walking side by side in silence. Francesca with mama as Daphne had her arm around you. Some gents and ladies turned their heads at the sudden disturbance of peace. – “Gregory! Hyacinth! Stay close!” – Violet called out seeing they were running off.
Hyacinth giggled loud, turning around to run up to Anthony. Anthony paused, blocked her way and picked her up to her dislike. She called it out when she got lifted up. Her complaints ending in laughter as Anthony set her back down. Gregory ran up to the tent, claiming the first chair as his by letting himself fall into it. Benedict jogged over to him.
Whistling loud with a nudge against his leg to get off. – “This is my seat.” – Gregory said stubborn. Benedict set his hands on the arms of the chair, leaning in. – “Go help mama.” – he replied with a cheeky smile. Gregory stared annoyed at him as Benedict kept nudging him to get up.
Gregory got up going over to Violet as Benedict sat himself down smiling. Francesca rounded him with crossed arms. – “You are the worst.” – she commented with half a smile. Benedict shrugged his shoulders, glad he had a good chair. Daphne saw another one of the folding chairs leading you to it. She sat you down happily.
She then went over to Colin to assist him into spreading out a blanket. Benedict grabbed the arms of his chair, hopping his chair closer to yours so that he could face you. – “Comfortable sister?” – he asked. You nodded. Benedict held his hand low with a luring smirk. You slapped your hand down on his with a laugh.
Benedict grabbed for you, tickling you. You squirmed against his grip, already feeling it come up. Feeling how hard your heart was pumping to get the blood flowing around your body. Your breathing becoming deeper, getting worn out. Anthony noticed it, running over. He slapped Benedict against his back to stop.
Benedict moved his hands up, looking questionable at Anthony’s glare. It gave you the time to seat yourself better and catch your breath. Immediately you were worn out. Anthony knelt before you, laying a hand on your knee.  – “Are you alright Y/n?” – he asked. You hummed loud, still trying to steady your breathing. It always took a while to do so. – “I’m not fragile.” – you said to your big brother with a smile.
Anthony took your hand, looking fondly up to you. – “No, but you mustn’t forget your limits.” – he reminded you. Benedict felt a bit guilty. He just wanted to have fun, like he did with Hyacinth or Gregory. You saw the sudden silence and guilt on his face. You moved Anthony aside to get to Benedict. Wrapping your arms around him. – “Thank you for not treating me any different.” – you whispered to him. Benedict hugged you back.
It wasn’t easy being different from your different. A heart defect they called it. A default in the heart that made it easier for you to get worn out. Your heart needing to put in that little extra effort to get the blood flow around your body. Gregory came over, tugging at Anthony. – “Come play!” – he said, pulling Anthony away. You waved him away, letting him know, you would be alright. – “I’ll just settle with my notebook.” – you told him.
Benedict re-arranged the chairs so that you were sitting beside each other. He took out his sketchbook and pencil. You opened your notebook scribbling down words. Poets. Little stories you loved to write out. Colin joined Anthony, Gregoy and Hyacinth by the tent for a game. Violet was sharing tea with Daphne and Francesca. Eloise laid down near them, trying to catch some more sleep.
Hyacinth and Anthony stood before each other. Gregory and Colin to the side. Hyacinth signalled to Anthony that she was ready to throw. She threw the hoop at him. Both Gregory and Colin trying to grab it. They missed as the hoop hooked around Anthony’s arm. He pulled his eyebrow cheeky up, making Hyacinth laugh. Anthony threw the hoop back as Colin shot his hand forwards, hitting the hoop with his fingers as it landed against Gregory’s head.
“Au, what was that for.” – Gregory called out, rubbing his head. – “Sorry.” – Colin apologized. Gregory picked the hoop up from the ground, giving it back to Anthony for another try. Benedict moved his head to the side, trying to peak at your notebook. – “Writing a poem about me?” – he asked teasingly.
You busted out in a laughter. – “You have to admit I am very interesting to write poems about.” – he brought his hands behind his back, stretching his legs out. His comment made you roll your eyes in a sarcastic way.
“If Y/n wrote about you it would make people scream.” – Eloise commented with one eye half open. Benedict looked behind him to her on the blanket. – “Scream with terror.” – Eloise filled in with a loud laugh. Benedict moved his hand behind him to playfully slap at her but he couldn’t reach her. Gregory came running over to you. – “Y/n do you want to play with us?” – he asked.
“I would love to.” – you answered putting your notebook away. – “Be mindful Y/n.” – Violet called out as you went after Gregory. – “Yes mama.” – you responded getting pulled away by Gregory. You joined the others. – “Let’s play tag.” – Hyacinth suggested. Anthony looked over to you. – “Suggest something else Hyacinth.” – he spoke.
You immediately knew he referred to you. – “I can handle it. Let’s play tag.” – you expressed not wanting to give your family limitations. – “Y/n are you sure?” – Colin spoke as you didn’t want to hear any more pity. – “Yes! Now let’s play.” – you said a bit annoyed. – “I’ll be it.” – Anthony moved his hand up, his other pressed to his chest.
Hyacinth and Gregory started to run away. Colin waited for you. You started easy, jogging off as you immediately felt it. Your breathing becoming shallow and loud. Anthony started to run as you staid still for a moment to catch your breath. You saw your brother run over to Gregory as he made his way over to you. With Gregory nearing, you had to run as well. You kept going feeling the pounding of your heart in your head.
Your legs feeling like it carried sandbags. The immediate feeling of tiredness in your legs as you knew you couldn’t hold it out any longer. You needed a moment to stop. Anthony noticed it slowing down. He looked around, going after Colin as he deliberately left you alone. – “Hey you could’ve tagged her!” – Colin called out taking a run for it.
“I choose whom I tag!” – Anthony breathed out. Anthony was able to tag Hyacinth as she was bummed out by it. You were near Colin, standing a bit still as Colin was shielding you a bit. Hyacinth came running over. Colin darted to the side as she focused her tag on you instead.
Squealing loud, you leapt aside, starting to run to avoid her. Hyacinth kept running after you. You weren’t a quitter so you kept running. Feeling your body tire out from the exercise. Breathing loud that it was more like panting. Your head turning a shade of red as you felt warm. Heart pounding in your head. – “Tag you’re it!” – Hyacinth called out touching your back.
The moment she tagged you, you stopped. Legs feeling sloppy as you let yourself fall to the ground. – “Y/n!” – your brothers called out. Benedict’s eyes widened, jumping out of his chair to run over. You laid yourself on your back, panting loud to catch your breath. Anthony and Colin rushing over to kneel at each side of you. – “Are you alright sister?” – Anthony asked worried. – “I’m fine.” – you answered out of breath.
“I just… need to catch… my breath…” – you replied, feeling your heart pound loudly in your chest. You noticed your siblings looked frightfully at you. – “I’m alright. I just need a moment to recover.” – you reminded them. Colin helped you sit up straight as you were still breathing loudly through your mouth. – “How about a game of cards?” – you suggested with a laugh. Benedict shook his head playfully. Anthony and Colin helped you up to your feet. Leading you back to the tent for some calmer games.

Kate mini version
Anthony Bridgerton x Kate Sharma x sis!reader
summary: Kate's sister is sent to live with Kate and Anthony by her mother who had to travel to India and couldn't take her. Feeling that she was unwanted and intruding on the Bridgerton couple's lives, Y/n starts acting distant. When Anthony and Kate realize this, they try to make Y/n see how much she is loved by everyone
requested: yes
Tumblr media
Y/n was sitting in her carriage for 5 minutes, not having the courage to open the door. She was outside the Viscount and Viscountess Bridgerton mansion, in other words her sister and her brother-in-law. Her hands trembled in her lap as she took a deep breath to try to calm her anxiety and her irregular heartbeat.
Her mother Mary had to travel to India and decided to not let her youngest go with her. As Y/n was still too young to consider it safe to keep her at home alone, even with maids, Mary asked Anthony and Kate to welcome her into their home.
Ever since Mary's older daughter found a husband and went to live a new life, Y/n felt that her relationship with her mother got worse.
The house was quieter, both of them no longer had the usual company of the other sisters. It made Y/n realize how she couldn’t hold a conversation with Mary, at least not like Kate and Edwina. It also didn't help that Y/n was extremely similar to their father, who had already died. It seemed like Mary was grieving again for her late lover, and Y/n was the cause of it.
So, like a snowball effect, Y/n couldn't help but think that Kate and Anthony were just taking her in out of obligation, since they were family, but that she was actually considered a burden for them.
"Would you like for me to open the door, Miss?" the maid who accompanied her asked with a gentle smile.
"There is no need for that, Anne. Thank you." she replied, snapping out of her thoughts.
With a last deep breath, Y/n opened the door just as Anthony and Kate were leaving the house. As soon as she saw them, Y/n bowed slightly. When she lifted her head again she found the two of them with a smile directed at her. But even so, she had doubts, after all, in this society, everyone had learned to master the fake polite smile. Kate hurried to her, pulling her into a tight hug.
"Y/n! It's so nice to have you here. The house can get so quiet when the Viscount is working. It'll be great to have our conversations like we had before." Kate whispered in her ear, Y/n only responding with a small smile.
Anthony approached the younger Sharma to greet her, Y/n bowing again. "Lord Bridgerton, thank you for your hospitality. It was very kind of you."
"By all means, Miss Y/n, you are family. Now let's come inside, Phillip can bring your belongings to your room." Anthony said, linking his arm with his wife and starting to head towards the room where the maids were setting the table for the tea.
Y/n followed behind the couple, her steps cautious. She looked at the huge mansion and sighed, her fears continuously running through her mind. This was going to be a very long month.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
It was still quite early, the sun's rays barely illuminating the mansion. However, Y/n was already awake and ready for the day. She went down to the kitchen, wanting to help the cooks and maids. It was the least she could do, since now they were cooking for one more person and the day before they had brought her a rather late meal since she didn't eat all of dinner.
The maids were surprised to see the youngest Sharma in the kitchen, tying an apron around her waist. However, with a lot of resistance on Y/n's part, they let the girl help. Y/n had a lot of fun, the maids had a good relationship with each other, throwing in some jokes from time to time that made her laugh.
Y/n was placing the last dish on the table. She had to admit that everything looked great. The food varied from fruit to various cakes and breads. Just in time, Anthony entered the kitchen, stopping in surprise when he saw Y/n there.
"Miss Sharma, I wasn't expecting you to be awake already. It's quite early."
"I'm a morning person, Lord Bridgerton." Y/n chuckled, running her hands down her dress nervously. She then pointed to the table, desperate not to remain in an awkward silence. "Breakfast is ready."
"I see that, everything looks great." he sat at the end of the table. Y/n remained standing, looking around, causing Anthony to hesitate before asking, "Aren't you going to sit down to eat too?"
"Oh! I already ate with the maids, thank you. Hm, is my sister awake?"
Anthony clears his throat, looking down. A frown appeared on Y/n's face when she saw the man's cheeks start to turn pink. "Your sister is still sleeping. She was not feeling well last night so she couldn't sleep much."
"Very well..." The girl nodded slowly. "I shall bring her tea when she wakes up. Until then, I was hoping I could go on for a walk in the gardens? Please?"
"Of course, Y/n, you don't have to ask." Anthony nodded, wiping his mouth with a napkin after drinking some orange juice. "Do you want me to ask a maid to go with you and keep you company?"
"No, it's okay, I prefer to go alone."
"No problem. In the afternoon we should go to my mother's house to play pall-mall. It would be lovely if you decided to join us."
"Oh, I'm not sure yet. I wouldn't want to interrupt your family time." Y/n looked away so as not to show the sadness she felt.
She had never even met Anthony's family properly, only meeting them briefly at the couple's wedding. Either way, with all the stories she'd heard from Kate, she doubted she'd be able to fit into the family dynamic. She was afraid that Anthony was only extending the invitation to her out of obligation to now be living with them, after all, she had never been invited even when her two sisters were.
However, with all these thoughts, the girl did not see the frown that appeared on her sister's husband's face. What do you mean she didn't want to interrupt family time when it was part of it?
Although his family never spent much time with Y/n, it was just because since she was younger, they thought she would feel more comfortable with her mother instead of being dragged around with Edwina and Kate to every event. She had lost her father and moved countries, they didn't want to overwhelm her. However, Anthony's siblings really wanted to meet her, especially Francesca and Hyacinth, who wanted to have a new friend.
"Y/n, you are family. My siblings would love to spend more time with you, especially my sisters." Anthony finally said.
"I will think about it." Y/n offered him a small smile out of politeness. "I will be heading to the gardens. Let me know if you need me. Excuse me, Lord Bridgerton."
When Y/n finally left the dining room, Anthony rubbed a hand over his face in frustration. He really needed to talk to his wife about this.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
Y/n was lying down on the grass, enjoying the sun's rays that warmed her skin, when Kate found her. After Anthony told her about what happened at breakfast, Kate knew there was something wrong with her younger sister.
Anthony's wife lay down beside Y/n, alerting her to her presence. Y/n lifted her head, offering her sister a small smile. "Are you feeling better?"
"Pardon?" Kate frowned, not understanding the question. Her mouth opened in realization as she remembered what Anthony had told her with a light blush. "Oh, yes, I'm fine. Nothing that a few more hours of sleep couldn't solve."
"I'm glad." Y/n closed her eyes again, enjoying the sunny day.
"Are you enjoying your time here? Lord Bridgerton told me that you cooked with the maids today." Kate said after a few moments of silence.
"Yes, they were lovely. I wanted to help."
"If you had a good time then there's no problem. But you know you don't need to get up early to cook for us. I want you to have fun and be comfortable while you're here."
Y/n remained silent. Her hand started messing with the grass, a way to distract herself. "I know." she replied with a small voice.
"Do you?" the elder Sharma raised her eyebrows teasingly.
But Y/n remained silent, a small frown forming on her face as she thought about what Kate said. In turn, Kate felt her heart tighten with guilt. As she looked at her little sister, she remembered when she was a baby and made exactly the same face when she thought. A sigh escaped her lips, missing having Y/n's company all day.
The three Sharma sisters used to spend every waking moment together, strolling around the garden or simply relaxing in silence. But now, with Kate married and Edwina being courted by the prince, they didn't think about how it would affect Y/n.
"Tell me what is really wrong." Kate asked with sad eyes. Y/n sat down, opening her mouth to start speaking, but nothing came out. "Y/n, I'm sorry I haven't spent much time with you. But I love you, and I want you to be comfortable being here with me and Anthony."
"You didn't just let me stay out of obligation?" the younger sister asked shyly, refusing to look into Kate's eyes, who had also sat up and was trying to lift Y/n's chin with her hand.
"No! In fact, I was the one who asked mother to let you stay with me instead of considering you going with her to India. We wanted you here. I miss seeing my little sister every day. It can get lonely when Anthony works, and I love having you here."
"Really? But when you're bored, don't you visit Lord Bridgerton's siblings?"
"Yes, but no one can replace you. And I'm always talking about you to them, from all the stories I've told, I think they like you more than me!" Kate laughed, her smile widening when Y/n also chuckled. "I'm sure they would be delighted for you to go with us to play pall-mall."
"Hmm, I'm not sure. What if they don't like me?"
"Oh!" Anthony's wife gasped as if it was the most ridiculous idea. "That's impossible! With your heart and your kindness, they would be fools to not like you!"
"I really missed you." Y/n admitted, resting her head on Kate's shoulder.
"Me too. And after mother comes back, our house is still open. You can come here whenever you wish."
"Thank you, Kate. I'm glad you found Anthony, you seem very happy."
"I am happy." Kate assured her. "And just because I am married now, nothing changes between us. You are still my priority."
"Thank you. And I believe a game of pall-mall is not the worst thing in the world. I will join you." the younger girl nodded with a smile, gaining confidence from her sister's words.
"Great! Then you'll also get to see Lord Bridgerton be a sore loser when I win."
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
She was already starting to regret her decision when she saw Anthony's family in the garden, already bickering with each other. She and her sisters were competitive, but not at this level.
"Dear siblings, if you could please just listen to me first." Anthony caught their attention with a sarcastic smile. "This is Miss Y/n, Kate's younger sister. She will be joining us today."
"Another Sharma? We are going to lose!" the younger boy, who Y/n assumed was Gregory, said.
Two other girls came to her, introducing themselves as Francesca and Hyacinth, Anthony's younger sisters. As they excitedly talked, Y/n's nerves began to disappear. Kate watched them closely, relaxing when she noticed that her sister was smiling, looking happy to be making friends. Her husband joined her, letting her lean against him and kissing her cheek.
"I told you it was going to be okay."
"Yeah, I know. But I was so sad that she thought we didn't want her here with us. It's my fault." Kate whispered sadly, feeling Anthony put his arm around her waist in comfort.
"It's not your fault, my love. We have to make her feel welcome, but for now, I think she's having fun." Noticing that Kate still wasn't convinced, he added. "What if the three of us went for a horse ride tomorrow? You once told me that Y/n always wanted to ride a horse, but she never got to learn since your father died. What if I taught her?"
"You would do that?" his wife smiled in delight. "Oh, Anthony, thank you. I'm sure she would love that."
"Anything for my wife and her little sister." Anthony smiled, giving her a chaste kiss on the lips. "I love you."
"Are you being this lovely just so I won't be so competitive in the game?" she laughed teasingly. "Forget it! Prepare to lose, my dear husband."
Kate turned her back on him, going to the others so they could start the game. Anthony enjoyed the view of his wife, wondering how he got so lucky. "I love my life."
While they were playing, Eloise told Y/n how women deserved to go to college and not live just for their husbands. Benedict appeared later, declaring that he was going to save her from her sister's obsessions, making Y/n hide a giggle behind her hand. In turn, he and Collin were extremely funny, especially when Anthony made a bad move and Kate beat him.
Y/n also had time to meet Daphne's son, who seemed to like her and demanded with a cry that she pick him up. She didn't complain, the baby was too cute to refuse anything.
She and her two new friends got tired of playing, preferring to sit under the shade with the baby and play a little with him. Meanwhile, they talked about everything and got to know more about each other. They only realized how much time had passed when Lady Violet Bridgerton called them to drink and eat something.
By late afternoon, Y/n was exhausted but happy. Her family was more complete, and she loved being part of its dynamic.

summary: four times Anthony protected his sister and the one time she protected him (albeit it was from the ton)
Tumblr media
After Edmund Bridgerton, the 8th Viscount Bridgerton, died, his son, Anthony, made a promise. He sat at his father's death bed, staring down at the cold corpse that had once been his beloved father, and promised to look after his siblings - all eight of them - and to try, in any way possible, to guide them as an elder brother and as a father figure.
Whilst his siblings did not make this promise an easy one to keep Anthony kept trying. But right now, at this exact moment in time, Anthony wanted to throttle his sisters.
He vaguely wondered if anyone would find their bodies at the bottom of the lake, only to be yanked out of the thought by a pillow smacking him in the chest, the intended target oblivious as she glared at her twin.
"What is so wrong with wanting marriage?" Y/N yelled, throwing her hands up at her sister.
"It shackles you for life!" Eloise yelled back. "It silences you and your dreams."
"Oh, not this conversation again," Y/N groaned. "El, not everyone wants the same things as you. Is it so wrong for me to want to be married and happy? There are plenty of things you can still do when married."
"Not if you marry some old man who treats his women like objects!"
"Nope, absolutely not," Y/N said, getting up from the sofa, throwing the cushion she'd been hugging at Eloise, "I am not having this conversation again. Marry, do not marry, I do not care. But I am not going to sit here and listen to you call me an unintelligent woman simply because I dream of being married one day."
The door to the drawing room slammed shut. Eloise huffed, sitting back down on the sofa, crossing her arms.
Anthony pulled back a page of his newspaper, eyeing Eloise. "Is it so wrong for your sister to want marriage?"
"She does not understand what it can do to a woman, brother," Eloise replied. "The consequences, the silencing..."
"It can be a positive thing, El -"
"I have heard far too many horror stories of women being treated like cattle to view it as a positive thing. We all saw what nearly happened to Daphne when she came out."
"That was entirely my own doing -"
"This is what I mean!" Eloise exclaimed, sitting forward. "We do not get to choose our husbands. Our husbands choose us or our fathers and brothers choose them for us. Not once does a woman get a say in who she marries."
Anthony exhaled through his nose, seeing that he clearly wasn't going to get anywhere with Eloise. He folded his newspaper shut, setting it down on the coffee table beside him.
"I'm going to go check on Y/N," he muttered, standing up from the sofa.
Whilst Anthony knew Y/N and Eloise were devoted to one another, he also knew that when they argued, it got mean, very quickly. The marriage argument had been one they'd had many times before and it never ended well.
Eloise could never quite seem to understand why any woman would want to willingly be married. Y/N never quite understood why Eloise was so opposed to even the idea of marriage. What was so wrong with wanting a future for herself where she was ostracized to the edge of society?
It took him fifteen minutes and five servants to work out where Y/N had gone. As much as he adored Aubery Hall, he did curse its extensive grounds, especially when his siblings ran off.
Another ten minutes later and Anthony was finally down in the woods of the grounds, walking through patches of bluebells and snowdrops, peering behind trees and bushes.
He looked behind a fairly large oak tree and stopped, casting his eyes down. Y/N looked back up at him, her face blotchy from her tears.
She didn't say anything, turning her head away and looking straight ahead at where the river cut through their lands.
Anthony crossed his arms, leaning against the tree. "This is an argument you have had before. We all know how it goes."
"I know. Does not stop it from upsetting me or being infuriating."
"It reminds me of the argument I so often have with Colin about travelling," Anthony replied. "If he had it his way, he would be gallivanting around every corner of this world, spending as much money as he likes. I am the one who has to bring him back down and tell him that whilst we have money, we do not have enough money for that."
Y/N gave him a small smile. "It is utterly exhausting. I have tried to explain to her multiple times that marriage can be a good thing. If you find the right person."
"I can attest to that."
"Five words I never thought you would say, brother," Y/N said, looking up at him.
"This argument is not worth your tears, Y/N."
"Oh, I am aware, I was not crying about that." She looked a little sheepishly at Anthony's raised eyebrow. "I was so angry I did not look where I was going and I twisted my ankle, falling down a rabbit burrow."
Anthony stared at her for a moment. Then, he burst out laughing, leaning back, putting a hand on his chest.
"Yes, yes, laugh away," Y/N muttered, rolling her eyes.
"Are you alright?"
"No! I fell down a rabbit burrow!"
Anthony snorted. Y/N reached over and pushed her brother's leg, knocking him off balance. He stumbled to the side, catching himself.
"Are you going to just stand there and laugh or will you help me up and back to the house?"
"Alright, come on then."
Anthony held his hands out to Y/N and she placed her hands in his, letting him help her up to her feet, hopping awkwardly. She put her foot down and winced, pain shooting up from her ankle.
Without uttering a word, Anthony turned around. Y/N, snorted but climbed onto his back, using her good foot to propel herself up.
"I feel like I'm ten again," Y/N said as Anthony gripped her legs.
"I don't," he grunted. "When did you get so heavy?"
"Don't be rude. Come along then," she said, nudging him with her foot.
Anthony rolled his eyes. "If I fall down a rabbit burrow, it'll be your fault."
Tumblr media
"Bloody hell."
Daphne whacked her sister with her blue mallet. "Language."
Y/N shot her a withering look. "It's just family, we are quite safe." She tilted her head up, looking at the tree. "How on earth are we to get that out?"
It was a well-known fact that Y/N Bridgerton did not know what gently meant. Especially when it came to pall mall. One well-aimed hit later, her purple ball was stuck up in the tree, nestled amongst the branches.
"We'll have to climb."
"No, Y/N, do not -"
Daphne trailed off as Y/N dropped her mallet and put her booted foot on a stump next to the tree. She pushed herself up, pulling her dress up over her knee and climbing up onto the lowest branch.
She could see the purple ball wedged between the fork of two branches. If she climbed up another branch and crawled forward, she could definitely grab it.
The panting of breaths came from below as Colin, Benedict and Anthony rushed up to Daphne, all looking up at the tree.
"Is she climbing the tree?!" Colin exclaimed, both delighted and slightly concerned.
"Of course she is!" Anthony snapped. "Y/N, get down at once!"
"Let one of the boys get it, Y/N," Daphne added.
"I'm up here now!" Y/N yelled down, climbing onto the second branch. "I might as well get it!"
Y/N crawled forward again, the leaves shaking at the sudden movement.
"Someone should get her down," Benedict muttered, following Y/N's movements. "Knowing our dear sister, she will fall down. She's not exactly gentle."
"Y/N!" Anthony yelled, moving to the bottom of the tree trunk. "Mother will kill me if you fall!"
"I've almost got it!"
Y/N leant forward, her fingers brushing against the purple ball. Instead of the ball falling into her grip, she lost her balance entirely and teetered forward and off the branch.
Her arms flailed as she struggled to find anything to grip on, her sibling's yells of panic from below silencing her own yelp of surprise.
Y/N was falling until she wasn't. Arms wrapped around her just before she hit the ground, her body smacking into Anthony's. The force knocked them both to the floor, Anthony taking down Benedict at the same time.
The three siblings hit the ground, hard. Anthony's head smacked against Benedict's chest as Y/N knocked her own head into her older brother's chin.
"Oh, my go - are you three ok?" Daphne exclaimed, crouching down beside Y/N and helping her sit up, a concerned hand on her back.
Y/N rolled off her elder brother and to the side, coughing slightly, winded from her collision with her brother.
"Anthony get off me," Benedict grunted, pushing his brother off him.
Anthony stumbled to his feet, swaying just a bit. "I'm fine," he muttered, dusting his jacket down. "Just another victim of Y/N Bridgerton."
Something landed on top of Anthony's head with a fairly loud thud. It rolled off him and bounced onto the floor, rolling down to Y/N's feet.
"Oh!" She said, bending down and picking it up. "I did get my ball after all!."
Tumblr media
Y/N looked behind her frantically, desperately trying to find an escape as Cressida Cowper walked towards her, her friends walking alongside her.
She was not having a good day and she did not need Cressida Cowper to make it any worse.
"Y/N!"
Bloody hell. "Cressida," Y/N said, curtseying politely.
"You look beautiful. As ever," Cressida added snidely. "Anyone asked you for a dance yet?"
Y/N gritted her teeth. "No, not yet."
"Oh, shame. Mr Patrick, Sir Carter and Mr Norris have all written their names in my dance card."
"Well, I hope you enjoy all your dances."
"Hmm, I suppose I will."
Cressida brushed past Y/N, tipping her glass of lemonade onto her dress and down her chest. Y/N gasped, the cold liquid startling her. Cressida sniggered and sauntered off to another corner of the ballroom.
Y/N inhaled shakily, closing her eyes. She turned her back to the rest of the room, feeling her throat closing as the tears threatened to fall all over again.
A jacket sleeve brushed against her arm and Y/N knew instantly it was Anthony. He shielded her from the rest of the room as he unbuttoned his jacket and put it around her shoulders, handing her his handkerchief.
"Come on," he said quietly, taking her hand and pulling her along with him.
Anthony walked out into the corridor outside the ballroom and then into another empty room. He shut the door behind them and Y/N sat down heavily on the sofas, hanging her head low.
"I have half a mind to go yell at Miss Cowper," Anthony muttered, walking over to her.
"Not that it would solve anything," Y/N replied, straightening up. She dabbed under her eyes with her fingers, shaking her head. "Thank you."
"Whatever for?"
"Getting me out of there before I made a scene."
Anthony smiled softly. "If anyone made a scene, it was Cressida." He sat down next to her on the sofa. "We do not have to go back. We can leave."
Y/N shook her head, pulling Anthony's jacket tighter around her shoulders. "No. I do not want her to win. Give me five minutes and I'll be fine."
"Very well, then."
Y/N dropped her head to Anthony's shoulder, closing her eyes momentarily. "Thank you, brother."
Anthony kissed her forehead, wrapping an arm around her shoulders, squeezing tightly. "Anytime."
Tumblr media
The rain lashed against the windows. A loud boom of thunder sounded from directly overhead and Y/N flinched, digging her nails into the leather of the chair she was sat in.
She didn't know what it was about storms that frightened her so much - whether it was the loud noises, the bright flashes of lighting, the sound of trees being felled - but this was the worst one they had had in years.
Anthony glanced up at his sister, pausing his writing. "Alright?"
Y/N nodded tightly, clutching her book in one hand. "Fine."
Another boom of thunder and she closed her eyes, jumping in her seat. Anthony set his pen down and pushed his chair back, walking over to his sister. He snatched up her book, putting his thumb on the page she was on, and closing it to look at the cover.
Pride and Prejudice was written on the front, each letter covered in gold foil. "Would you like me to read to you?"
"If it means distracting me from this god-awful storm, yes."
Anthony smiled, sitting down in the chair opposite his sister. He opened the book again and found the start of the new chapter. "Colonel Fitzwilliam's were very much admired at the Parsonage, and the ladies all felt that he must add considerably to the pleasure of their engagements at Rosings."
Y/N leant back in her chair, closing her eyes. Anthony's voice was calm and didn't flinch once, even when lighting struck almost outside his study window. His mere presence had calmed her down from the panic building inside her.
As Anthony reached the end of the chapter, he glanced over at his sister. He smiled softly upon seeing that she was fast asleep, her head drooping to one side. He concluded the chapter, gently tucking a piece of paper in between the pages and closing the book.
It had been many years since he'd last carried anyone other than Hyacinth and Gregory to bed. Even then, they were beginning to get a bit too big and a bit too old.
Anthony gently lifted Y/N up into his arms and crept through the corridors of Bridgerton House. He laid her down on her bed and pulled back the blankets and duvet, placing them on top of her, smoothing the edge down.
"Night, Y/N," he whispered, standing in the doorway, a soft smile on his face.
Tumblr media
Anthony did not regret marrying Kate Bridgerton neé Sharma one bit.
He just regretted his mother's penchant for big ball's and extravagant celebrations. Anthony had hardly had time to take in his new wife and admire her as viscountess - it felt as if the entire ton had been invited to the ball.
Almost an hour later, Anthony finally found his wife again, walking up to her and taking her hand in his, squeezing it tightly.
"I missed you," he murmured, leaning into her neck and sniffing.
Kate shoved him gently. "Anthony, behave."
"Apologies."
"Your mother seems very determined to introduce me to every member of the ton tonight."
"Again, apologies."
Kate chuckled, smiling widely. "I forgive you, my lord."
The string quartet began readying themselves for another dance, couples moving into position on the floor with practised ease. Anthony held his hand out to his wife, smiling.
"Care for a dance, Viscountess Bridgerton?"
"I would adore one, Viscount Bridgerton."
They danced three times in a row. Which was preposterous for any courting couple but unheard of for a married couple. But Anthony and Kate were so in love with one another, that no one seemed to really mind.
In fact, both were so enamoured with one another, that they did not seem to realise the line of people wanting to talk to them slowly dwindling down to nothing.
"Is it me," Kate said quietly, "or has no one been over to talk at us for a while?"
Anthony sipped on his lemonade and looked around, raising his eyebrows. "No, I do believe you are correct in that statement."
It was suspicious, Anthony thought, that they had been left alone for as long as they had. His eyes scanned the ballroom - he spotted Daphne and Simon, both pretending to look interested in a conversation with the Cowpers, and suddenly realised.
"I do believe my siblings are deflecting anyone that comes our way," Anthony murmured to his wife.
"Whatever do you mean?"
He pointed over to Daphne and Simon. Then he guided Kate's eyes to the left, where Colin and Eloise were listening to Lady Trowbridge.
"Oh," Kate said, understanding. She looked around the room, her eyes latching on to one Bridgerton in particular.
Y/N stood with Mr Dorset, pretending to be engrossed in Lord Lumley's conversation. She was surrounded by numerous other gentlemen, all waiting for her attention.
"Oh, Lord Bridgerton!" Portia Featherington crowed.
"I knew it couldn't last," Anthony muttered, turning his back.
"Lady Featherington!" Y/N exclaimed, pulling Mr Dorset with her as they walked over to the lady. "I have been meaning to ask you all night about your stunning dress."
"Oh, really? It's new in from Paris -"
And just like that, Portia Featherington forget entirely about the newlywed couple she'd been marching towards.
Kate caught Y/N's eye as she walked back to the wall. She mouthed a thank you to the younger girl, smiling when Y/N winked back at her, blowing her sister-in-law a kiss.
"I do believe, we have Y/N to thank for a bit of peace," Kate said, leaning into her husband. "She seems to have gathered an army to distract the ton."
Anthony looked over at her, a fond smile taking over his face. "Of course she did," he muttered. "Well, I suppose, annoyingly, I'm in her debt now."
"Is that such a bad thing?" Kate asked, letting Anthony wrap his arms around her waist, resting his head on her shoulder.
"No," He replied, sniffing Kate's scent and pressing a kiss to her bare skin, "no, it is not."

Hi! Could you do a Bridgerton sibling reader (youngest) where she has like ADHD and she’s like 7 or 8 and during an important dinner for the adults she comes down because she has something very “important” to show her mother and everyone just finds her adorable
A/N- This is such a cute request I love it!
Warnings- None
Pronouns- She/Her
Word Count- 663
Summary- Anthony has gathered the adults of his family to hopefully win over the Sharmas for a proposal when his younger sister interrupts.
Lightning Bugs
Tumblr media
“I am soooo boreeeed” I cry out throwing myself dramatically on the floor.
Eloise rushes over excitedly “We can always discuss some Lady Whistledown theories!”
I roll over onto my face and let out an even bigger groan.
Colin hushes me “You do not want Anthony to come out and scold you, do you? He is very busy trying to win over the Sharmas with Mother and Daphne. ”
“Ugh, you guys are no fun! Come on Gregory and Hyacinth!” I say grabbing their arms and dragging them outside.
“Please do not stay out too long it is getting dark!” Colin tries to yell out to us but I am too busy to hear.
“What are we doing out here Y/N?” Gregory groans out.
“Going on Adventure of course!” I say with a huge smile causing Hyacinth to giggle.
I gesture for them to both follow me and we march off. Hyacinth is picking flowers for Mom as we go and Gregory and I are splashing in puddles. Then I make them follow me to the biggest tree in the yard.
“This tree is perfect! If we climb it we will see everything and find the best place for adventuring!” I yell out.
Gregory seems excited to be climbing the tree, Hyacinth sighs but still follows us to climb the tree. As we all climb the tree there are tons of lightning bugs gathering!
“We have to show the lightning bugs to the whole family!” I exclaim jumping from the tree and crashing to the ground. “I’m okay” I shout raising my hand up. I begin running to the dining room as Gregory and Hyacinth shake their heads.
I bust through the family room very violently catching all my siblings' attention.
Colin runs up to me “Are you okay Y/N?” He says quickly assessing my body for injuries.
I swat Colin’s hands “ I must speak to Mama it is urgent!”
“No, no, no we can not interrupt Anthony’s dinner,” He said scooping me up.
I have to quickly think of a way to get out of his grasp so I do the most logical thing and bite him. Colin shouts in pain dropping me and Eloise is on the floor laughing. I take this opportunity to run past them and barrel into the dining room.
The whole room stares at me but I have to focus on what's important. “You all must come outside it is urgent!” I shout.
Anthony quickly stands up and rushes to me “Why is it urgent is everyone okay?” He asks very anxiously.
“Everything is fine you just got to see this!” I groan grabbing his hand and dragging him outside.
The rest of the Bridgertons follow us outside as well as the Sharmas.
“See look isn’t it beautiful!” I say gesturing smiling widely.
The guests and Bridgertons all look at the lightning bugs with aw.
“They are quite beautiful Y/N,” Anthony smiles and messes up my hair with his hands.
Eloise nods “I must say they are beautiful but I much preferred when you bite Colin.”
Benedict laughed very hard at that but mom gave me the “you did what” look causing me to laugh. Benedict picked me up and dance me around. The Sharmas were smiling quite widely and reaching their hands out to the lightning bugs.
Gregory quickly ran inside and came back with a jar to try to capture some while Hyacinth tried to stop him.
“The lightning bugs belong outside Gregory!” She shouts waving her hands.
Anthony steals me from Benedict grabbing me into his arms and tickling me while I try to escape him. Benedict grabs onto Eloise and forces her to dance causing Francesa to get jealous and pull Colin to dance with her.
It was a wonderful night full of dancing and laughter and I really hope Anthony marries one of the Sharmas because they fit right in with our family plus you can never have too many sisters!

Bridgertons x sister!reader - you’re not a burden.
Summary: the reader is the Bridgertons sister and is a year older then Eloise (so 19) and she gets really sick and starts coughing up blood but she doesn’t want to tell anybody because she doesn’t want to be a bother and a pain but then one day she faints in front of Anthony and Colin and then the whole family has a talk.
——————————
I groaned as my stomach started to churn again. I was sitting in my room and was sick.
I had been coughing a lot and throwing up.
I felt another tickle in my throat and sighed. I started coughing trying to keep it quiet. I laid my face into my pillow and coughed in it.
When I was done I sat up but noticed a red stain on my pillow. I put my fingers to my lips and pulled away. There was blood. I was coughing up blood.
My eyes went wide as I quickly cleaned everything up. But I’m doing so I started coughing up more blood. I got so tired. I feel into my bed and everything went black.
_____
I was now with Anthony and Colin in the lounge room. I have kept my sickness from everyone so far. It has been a week since I coughed up the blood and it hasn’t stopped.
I was sitting in between my two older brothers and had my arms folded over my stomach.
I felt that familiar tickle in my throat and felt my lungs lurch. I didn’t want to cough, not in front of my brothers.
I tried to suppress it. I tried everything but it wouldn’t go away. Finally I couldn’t take it anymore. I started coughing violently and I leaned forward and spat the blood into my hands. I was crying now and Anthony and Colin were worried sick. Colin pulled out his handkerchief and wiped the blood from my hands and lips and held it under my chin as I coughed up more.
Anthony was rubbing my back. I got tried again. Very tired. I kept coughing but I started to lean back. Like I had no control over my body. I felt my body go numb and it was dark again. I could hear yelling and could feel someone shaking me but I wasn’t awake. I couldn’t interact.
———
I opened my eyes slightly and winced as my stomach was sore along with my throat.
“She’s awake.” I heard someone say. It sounded like Benedict.
I looked around and saw my whole family sitting around me. I tried to sit up on my own but failed miserably. Anthony came to my aid in a flash and helped me get comfortable while sitting up.
“Why didn’t you tell us you were sick y/n?” My mother asked.
I shrugged and could feel tears well in my eyes. I looked at my hands and replied, “I did not want to be a bother.”
“Y/n you will never be a bother. Your health is important and we want to make sure you stay healthy.” Anthony said from my right side. His hand was grasping mine and he gave me a small smile.
“We love you y/n, I was so scared when you started coughing up blood I didn’t know what to do.” Colin stated from my left side. He was sitting on the edge of my bed with his hand resting on my leg.
“We can’t loose you y/n, you are the glue to this family. You support us and make sure we don’t rip each other apart.” Benedict said. He was sitting on my right beside Anthony. He had his hand on my leg as well.
By this time tears were falling from my eyes. Colin was quick to wipe them away with his thumb.
“Y/n you are very important to all of us and we hate when things like this happen to you.” Daphne said. She was also on my right side. She was beside my head and she was running her fingers through my hair.
“Y/n you are so beautiful and kind and caring and I don’t know what I would do if you were not around.” Eloise said. She was sitting on my left beside Colin.
I sucked in a breath and let more tears out of my eyes.
“Y/n you will never burden us if you are sick. I’ve been sick many times and you have always been there to take care of me.” Gregory said from his spot at the foot of my bed.
“I look up to you y/n, you are my role model and I want you to know that you will never ever burden us with anything.” Hyacinth said. She was sitting next to Gregory.
“Y/n what we are all getting at is, you are an amazing young woman and we all love and care for you. We want you to tell us if you are sick so we can help you.” Francesca said.
“Thank you. I love you all.” I said through my tears.
“We love you too y/n” scattered across the room.
Soon Colin climbed into my bed next to me and wrapped his arms around me and brought me into his chest.
Anthony sat on my other side with his head on my shoulder and arms around my torso. Benedict was next, sitting at my legs, rubbing his hand up and down.
Then Gregory climbed on the bed and sat in a small area between me and Colin. He had his arms around my left one.
Then Daphne climbed into bed beside Anthony and she wrapped her arms around his waist and laid her head on his back. Hyacinth laid in front of Colin with her head on my lap. Eloise sat next to Benedict and she had her arms wrapped around him. Francesca was the last and she laid at my feet. Her head resting in Gregory’s.
I felt so loved in that moment.
I felt Anthony kiss my cheek and I smiled.
Then we all fell asleep like that.
______
For the next couple days that I was sick everyone would visit me and take care of me.
It usually went, Anthony and Daphne.
Then Benedict and Eloise.
Then after that was Colin and Hyacinth.
Then last was Gregory and Francesca.
They had a schedule for who would watch me at what time.
Usually at night Anthony and Colin would stay in my room with me. They would lay with me or cuddle with me until I fell asleep.
Most of the time when my siblings were in my room, they would sit on my bed with me and get me anything I needed.
With all of their help I was back and healthy in three more days.

If you enjoy Bridgerton sis fics, you will like this too - Sickness and Siblings
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
● You will never get bored having eight siblings around.
● Your sisters practicing makeup & hairstyles on you and vice versa, there are maids, but still.
● Playing all sorts of games with your siblings from hide & seek, tag, to pall mall.
Anthony still remembers when you and Hyacinth were just toddlers, he and Benedict, Colin would throw you and your twins sister up in the air and catching you both, talking turns in doing so, almost giving Violet a heart attack. But you were an absolutely happy, giggling baby.
● Playing in the garden with Daphne and Francesca. Eloise is not interested in playing outside much, she prefers a book. So you make flower crowns for all your siblings.
● Forcing Pleading Anthony to wear a flower crown with your puppy eyes.
"No"
"Please, brother!"
"No, Y/n/n"
Cue your puppy eyes. How can he say no to that?
Benedict doesn't mind, in fact he loves it beause it makes you smile and happy.
Colin acts he is too cool for that but lets face it, no one is immune to your puppy eyes. Then he demands he looks better than Daphne with it. Leave them to bicker among themselves.
Daphne rocks it looking like a princess straight out of a fairy tale.
Eloise doesn't even notice you placed a flower crown on her head, her face buried in the book.
Francesca is already wearing it cause you and her made the crowns in the first place.
Gregory. He protests at first, but after little persuasion, he wears it.
Hyacinth absolutely loves it.
Your mother smiles to herself, her eyes set on the sight of all her children wearing the flower crowns, light hearted teasing comments and laughter surrounding them.
● Giving Violet flowers whenever you can and melting her heart, "My sweet child" she tears up.
● Ganging up on Gregory with Hyacinth when he pulls the 'I'm the oldest' card with 'well, we are taller than you'
● "Mama, Gregory pulled my ribbon! Again!"
"She started it!"
"Children, quit it!"
Tumblr media
● Often get called 'TTT' (The Troublesome Trio alias The Triple Threat), a moniker Gregory, Hyacinth and you earned.
● Annoying your siblings (affectionate) whenever you can, because you are bored and you can.
"Benedict, I am bored!" you drawl out, lying down on the canapé and resting your legs on his lap.
● Following around your big brother Anthony, mimicking his gestures behind his back, he doesn't realise it until the maids giggle. He turns around with playful glare & you run away giggling with him chasing you.
You run past Daphne, Benedict, Colin and almost crashing into slightly exasperated Violet yelling, 'Y/n Bridgerton, do not run inside the house!'
And hiding in Colin's room, and him playing along saying he didn't see you when Anthony asks. There is a reason he is your favourite brother. But shh, don't let your other brothers hear that though.
● First one to genuinely show interest in Benedict's art and encouraging him whenever he shows you his art reluctantly , you can be quite persuasive when you want.
"I don't understand why keep saying it is not enough, brother" you say, picking up yet another scrunched paper with his art.
"It's the hands" he let's out an annoyed sigh, "I can't get them right"
"Oh, you will" you say, resting your head on his shoulder peeking straight at his sketche as he draws. "What are you sketching now?"
"Do you mind?" he leans forward, closing his sketch book, making your head jerk in the process.
"Hey!" you don't give up yet. You move over and sit next to him, making yourself comfortable.
"If i were to show you, will you stop pestering me, Y/n/n?"
"Perhaps, no promises though"
He let's out a sigh. Why do you have to be so stubborn again?
"My word! Brother, this is amazing!" you exclaim with wonder, eyeing his art.
He smiles at your words, he wouldn't say it loud exactly but he very much appreciates your support.
● "Mama, might i be able to learn horse riding now?"
"You are still too young for that, dear"
"I'm taller than Gregory"
"Not old enough" Colin ruffles your hair, you swat his hand with a glare and cross your arms.
● Tearing up when Daphne leaves after marrying Simon.
Tumblr media
Every fondest memory with her flashes in your head.
"Daphne, wait!" you yell, right when she is about to get on the carriage, startling everyone, including Simon.
She pauses with 'what's wrong Y/n' look at you?
You don't wait, you practically sprint towards her wrapping your arms around her waist. "I will miss you terribly" you admit honestly.
"Oh, Y/n/n" her face easing into a bittersweet smile. She can't cry in front of you.
"I will miss you too, sweetheart" she hugs you back.
She is the one you go to when you get nightmares after reading a horror novel, despite your mother, Daphne, Anthony advised you against it.
And when you knock on her door in the middle of the night. All her 'I told you so' speech slips her mind when she sees your scared self. Without a question, you hop into her bed cuddling her and relaxing in her comforting presence. You instantly fall asleep listening to her singing, forgetting your bad dreams.
Despite the situation, she smiles at your curling form next to her and sleeping to her singing just like you used to when you were a small child.
"Promise you will write?"
Your voice brings her back to the present.
"Every month" she promises you, kissing your head and letting you go.
Your family watches the scene with a warm smile of their own, your mother dabs her eye with a napkin.
You run back to them and Benedict immediately pulls you to his side, putting his arm around you, pulling you in for a side hug and muttering, "It will be alright, Y/n/n"
You nod at his words, very much welcoming his comforting words and gesture, and smiling at your sister once again, bidding her farewell.
● Being the constant subject of teasing and the victim of their pranks.
They did try to prank you that one time and that did not end well for them.
One fine breezy morning, you took a nap in the morning when your family had planned a picnic near Thames after few hours.
An hour later, you woke up disoriented and mildly annoyed.
"Oh, Y/n, you should have seen it, it was so fun!"
What was fun? You rubbed your eyes.
Anthony bought us so much sweets Hyacinth gushed excitedly.
"You missed all the fun" Eloise joined in.
"I don't believe you"
Then it clicked. Did they really went without you? Surely, it can't be true. They would not leave you.
Francesca entered the room, grinning happily. "Y/n/n, you slept for too long!" she said, followed by Colin.
"The sleeping beauty is finally awake!"
Were you sleeping that long?
"You are all lying" you half hoped, your voice mix of anger and sadness. Your eyes almost tearing up.
Did they really ignore you and went to the picnic without you?
Colin shrugged, "Why would we?"
He was always so convincing and good at lying.
Francesca averted her eyes, if she were to look at your face one more time, she would burst and confess the prank.
"Mama!" you called out your mother, rushing to her, your sleepiness long gone, eyes now full of tears, your voice shaky.
Uh oh.
Your siblings looked at eachother in panic and regret. It was just meant to be a harmless prank.
"Y/n/n!" they ran after you to stop you and confess, each of them feeling bad when they saw your face.
Only for them to meet with Anthony's angry eyes.
"My dear sister, we would never ever leave you, you hear me?" Anthony bent down to your height. "I would never leave you"
His words was about the picnic but you both knew it was more than that.
A promise.
You nodded as he wiped your tears with his thumb.
● Being sad again when Colin leaves for tour.
You are going to miss his teasing and jokes even though you act like you hate it.
"Do not forget to bring me a gift" Gregory told Colin.
"It is not a gift if you have to ask" Hyacinth turned to him before looking at Colin. "I would fancy anything blue or white" she added.
"Oh, I would love anything green or sweets!" you chimed in, making everyone chuckle.
● Going to Benedict's room when you have nightmare after Daphne leaves, cause he is the most calm one and wouldn't lecture about you reading those horror books. He would simply welcome you into his arms.
● And at one night, not even Benedict would calm you, you thought. You needed Anthony.
He is the only father figure you had all your life.
He could still hear your mother's words that day, years ago, yet sharp and painful etched in his mind now.
"I feel sorry for baby Hyacinth and baby Y/n. Because they would never know Edmund's laugh"
His eyebrows furrows, his eyes so distant.
"Or the way he smiled or what is to be hugged in his arms"
He hugs your shaky form tight, her words still ringing in his ears.
He made a vow to himself that he would be the father Gregory, Hyacinth and you needed.
And now you needed his arms, and he pulled the blanket up, making sure you feel warm and safe.
You begin to calm down, finding comfort in the thought you are safe in your big brother's arms and the knowledge he would protect you from anything. He was your hero.
"Good night, Y/n/n" he whispered, a small soft smile eased into his face as he watched you calmed down and sleep cuddled next to him. He pressed a light kiss on your head before drifting off to sleep.
● Sure, your siblings can be quite troublesome at times but they are also absolutely wonderful and love you nevertheless— the baby of the family. And you would never trade them for anything in the world. You love your family with all your heart.

A sister needs her brother
Info: Y/n bridgerton is dealing with the commitments that come to joining the season to find a husband, but when things are said about the 6th Bridgerton, she runs to the place only her brother knows.
Tumblr media
Y/n Bridgerton, Eloises younger sister by a year, smiled politely at those who passed the Bridgerton family during the pomegrade around the grounds. Her arm was linked to Colins arm who occassionaly tickled his younger sister to help ease her worries. The two were always close and Colin always made sure that he was the one to comfort her when needed. Daphne may have Anthony and Eloise, Benedict, but everyone knew that if they wanted to speak to the 3rd girl of the family, they had to get through Colin first. It had always been that way since she was a little girl, Coling looking out for her, caring for her while his mother grieved the loss of their father.
The two Bridgertons followed their mother and oldest brother as well as Lady Danbury and he Sharma's to their tent to retire for some refreshments. Sighing happily, y/n accepted the glass of lemonade her mother offered her, sipping it delicately before turning her attention to Colin as he scanned the men who looked at his sister, rolling her eyes playfully.
"You know, I do find that young Duke Heathing fello quite handsome." Y/n mocked, waving gracefully at the young Duke who smiled and looked down.
"I do believe that he would not suit you dear sister, far too sensitive." Colin replied, glaring at the boy his sister was speaking of.
"Perhaps I would like someone who cares and shows emotions."
"Emotions and sensitivity can be two very different things in life. No no he is not fit for your hand in marriage, and should he ask I shall see that he never speaks to you again." Colin stated causing y/n to giggle at her brothers reaction.
"I do pray for the man who should become my husband." Y/n stated, a tone of seriousnes present.
"So do I, if he dares try it."Colin spoke, causing y/n to roll her eyes.
Y/n glanced around at those who surrounded the grounds and smiled, seeing Colin distracted by her mother who was speaking to him about y/n's future, him disagreeing about her marriage possibly being this season. Seeing his irritation, an idea comes to her head causing her to stnad up. Immediately Colins attention turned to her.
"Where are you…"
"Though shall not catch me dear brother." Y/n laughed, interrupting her brother, as she moved away from Colin who smirked at his sisters playfulness.
"Sister." Colin called out, excusing himself from the conversation with his mother to follow his sister.
Those surrounding them watched the two Bridgertons as they messed around, some smiling at their silliness while others watched in disgust. Y/n giggled, not seeing the people watching as Colin grabbed her arm, pulling her to him to tickle her continuously. Anthony went to get up after his brothers only for Violet to place a hand on his arm.
"Anthony, leave them be." Violet stated, watching with a fond smile.
"This is no place to be running around like children." Anthony defended himself, not pleased with the way his siblings reacted.
"Y/n is young, let them have their fun, Colin needs this too." Violet stated, watching as y/n pulled away from Colin, allowing him to wrap an arm over her shoulder as the two laughed.
"They are quite close, are they not." Edwina asked, glancing at Violet as she watched her children fondly.
"They are, he cared for her when I could not." Violet stated, turning her attention to the Sharmas as they smiled softly.
"I do believe that people crave for the bond that they share with one another." Kate stated, laughing gently as y/n sighed, out of breath.
"Yes, there bond is one that I know will never break." Violet stated with a smile before knocking out of her trance, "Anyone for more tea?"
The following day y/n gracefully walkeddown stairs to see Benedict and Colin siting at the table, eating their breakfast. Smiling, she sat down beside Colin and thanked the maid as an egg was placed in front of her. Colin gave her a side hug before continuing to eat his breakfast. The three of them engaged in light conversation as the rest of the Bridgertons slowly came into the dining room to have their own breakfast when Eloise, the last one to come down, rushed in with Lady Whistledowns edition of the day.
"Eloise come have your breakfast before reading the gossip of the day." Voilet stated and Eloise sulked at her mothers comment.
"But y/n is mentioned in it." Eloise stated, gaining the attention of everyone.
"What?" Y/n asked n confusing, putting her hand out to Eloise for the piece of paper.
"Y/n, please, eat first." Violet asked, sighing as she was ignored, with y/n already reading the gosip from yesterday.
Suddenly, she got up and fled the dining room, not saying a word to anyone as she passed them. Colin looked in the direction his sister went in confusion before looking at the piece of paper Eloise picked up in her hand.
"What on earth is in that segment." Benedict asked, confused on what just happened.
"The one that confuses me most, is how Y/n Bridgerton acts. Her ability to act like a child has made it clear to me that maybe she should not have been brought forward for this season. The giggles and animal antics of the third Bridgerton daughter is one that suggests to me that she would not be wife material for unlike her sister Daphne who perhaps should give tips on the etiquette of being a lady. Should y/n Bridgerton want to marry this season, I suggest she breaks her child like behaviour with her brother and starts acting like the woman she craves to be." Eloise read out before looking in confusion.
"It seems lady whistledown has seen her behaviour yesterday." Anthony stated, looking at Violet.
"Come Anthony, she is entitled to fun just as the rest of yous are." Violet stated, defending her daughter.
"There are other women out there who have done a lot worse than her." Benedict stated.
"Perhaps I should speak to her, get her to down play her child like altributes and…."
"Perhaps you shall stay. I believe you are not the one she will speak to." Violet interrupted her oldest son before looking at Colin who was already moving to stand up.
"I shall go to her, see that she is okay." Colin stated before leaving the dining area where the rest of his family located.
Y/n ran through the back garden and started climbing the tree that lead to her treehouse. Colin and her made it one day when she was only a little girl, and they had gathered little bits and pieces to make it into a comfy area to rest. It was at the back of the garden where no one really went to, so no one really knew of the house, only her and Colin.
Rubbing her eyes to avoid the tears she lay her head onto the pillows that surrounded the walls, turning to face away from the door. She closed her eyes and allowed her emotions to get the better of her before opening them, sniffing when she heard the sound of the door opening. Colin Sighed as he heard his sister crying and sniffing softly in the treehouse that the two of them made, not liking to see his sister upset. Carefully closing the door he moved closer to the young girl, and y/n ignored him as he sat beside her.
"You know, I do believe that this place needs a bit of an upgrade, don't you?" Colin asked jokingly, waiting for a reaction from his sister.
"I believe you should leave me alone." Y/n replied causing Colin to tut in disagreement.
"If I did that then I wouldn't get to see you smile." He stated.
"Pity." Y/n commented causing Colin to sigh and move to a lying position, placing his head on y/n's shoulder.
"Come on y/n, I need my best friend to be smiling so we can have fun. That's how we go."
"Yeah well, not anymore, Now I've grown up, no time for fun." Y/n muttered, pushing COlin away as she sat up straight.
"Are you really going to listen to what an unknown person says." Colin asked, sitting up properly beside her.
"That unknown person has millions of people reading what she says everyday, so yes, I am. I need to grow up if I want a husband, and if I don't have a person then my life isn't going to be easy."
"Do you really think I would let that happen to you?" Colin asked and y/n looked down, not sure of hat to say. "You are my sister, I will never let you get cast aside if you don't have a husband. And as for wanting a husband, your 16, plenty of time to find your partner in life."
"I suppose."Y/g agreed.
"Right now I am yours, and you are mine. It doesn't matter what anyone says you are my sister, adn I love you."
"I love you too." Y/n smiled, leaning on her brother as he placed an arm over her, kissing her head softly.
"Now, how about you and I, go play a game of pall mall, I believe that I was the winner last time." Colin stated, causing y/n to smile childishly.
"I believe that was because I let you win." Y/n stated and Colin mocked hurt.
"We shall see dear sister, we shall see." Colin smirked and opened the door of the treehouse.
Y/n giggled and made her way down the ladder before Colin before heading off to the greenery where they usually played there small games of pall mall. Violet looked on from the living rooms window as her second and sixth children played amongst themselves, occasionally cheering when they got the ball through the hoop. Anthony watched on from his office area, where Benedict followed him.
"Sometimes brother, all our sisters need, is their brother." Benedict stated, placing a hand on Anthonys shoulder before moving out of the room to go paint.
"Yeah," Anthony spoke, "A sister needs her brother."

Random Bridgerton thought! Potential for AU fics.
I haven’t read the books so I don’t know how Lady Whistledown continues after her identity is revealed or how it all ends for her writings, but I’m imagining a fic that can take place in any time period post-Regency/after the canon timeline.
Reader is a member of the Bridgerton bloodline and is a writer who has taken up the mantle of Lady Whistledown, using it as his/her/their pseudonym. It’s become tradition and runs in the family. The name gets passed down like a torch, to keep the mystery of “Who is Lady Whistledown really?” alive. The only people who ever know the true identity/identities of the author(s) behind Lady Whistledown’s works are kept within the family. So it’s a big, protected secret - forever an unsolved mystery to the public. A situation similar to how “Carolyn Keene” is multiple unidentified people. Either Reader and his/her/their spouse are both writers, or maybe Reader is working with his/her/their cousins and/or siblings to publish new works. Either way, Reader is collaborating with others to create new stories.
This has been continued throughout generations and eras, passed down to any writer who enters the Bridgerton family. Whether through birth, marriage, or adoption, Lady Whistledown is a pseudonym for anyone who holds enough creativity and talent to bring pen to paper. Whether they be screen writers, playwrights, journalists, novelists, etc. Any man or woman within the Bridgerton family, regardless of surname changes due to marriages or other reasons, is welcome to be a part of it. As time keeps moving forward and the world changes, Lady Whistledown remains to witness it all.

did she have a cookie?
requested by anon: I would like to request a Bridgerton!sis imagine in which the reader drinks the tea that Benedict had mixed the powder thinking of it as ordinary tea. And Colin and Benedict try to keep her out of trouble. And she gets emotional at the end. A fluffy ending. Thank you
a/n: just like editing, i cannot make a just happy fic
summary: Don't drink the tea unless you want to have a trip of a lifetime
Tumblr media
Summer at Aubery Hall was always enjoyable. The late nights spent outdoors, playing games until the sun had long gone - being able to gallop across the fields without stopping.
It all brought Y/N so much joy and excitement. But, naturally, her mother had to ruin it with the mention of suitors and marriage and all the grown-up things Y/N didn't want to think about.
Since she'd woken up that morning, she had been avoiding her mother. Y/N had skipped breakfast, hidden in the library, and was now up near the nursery, searching for anyone to free her from her bordem.
She could hear Colin and Benedict in the nursery and approached the door, wanting to know what they were on about.
"What are you two doing?"
Colin turned in his chair to face the nursery door. "Talking, why, what are you doing?"
"Avoiding our mother," Y/N grumbled, walking further into the nursery. "She will not stop talking about suitors and marriage and it is driving me insane."
Colin pulled out the chair to his left and Y/N sat down in it with a huff, crossing her ankles. "You look like Eloise when you do that."
"Of course I do, she is my twin," Y/N snapped. Coline raised his eyebrows and Y/N groaned. "Sorry."
"Is she truly that awful?" Benedict asked, pouring Y/N a cup of tea before leaning back in his chair.
Yes. "No. Well, yes, but I know she means well. I just want to enjoy our time here before we return to London and society and -"
"All the joys that come with it?" Colin suggested.
Y/N nodded. She sat up in her chair, leaning forward. "She does not pester you two."
"Probably because we are men," Benedict replied. "Besides, Colin is not here enough for her to pester him."
Colin smirked, bringing his tea to his lips. "That was my plan all along, dear brother."
Y/N sighed, reaching for her tea. "I understand that this is my entire future but," she sipped the tea, "would it truly be so awful if I became a spinster? I hate society anyway."
Benedict looked thoughtful for a moment. "It would be lonely, I think. Always on the outskirts of events. From what I have seen - and been told - there is not really any place for an unmarried woman in society."
"That seems like society's problem," Y/N muttered. She blew on her tea and took another sip. "Not mine." Y/N hesitated, holding her cup close. "Marriage scares me."
Colin and Benedict shared a look.
"Not like that you idiots," Y/N hissed, catching their look. "I know enough about that. I meant in the way that I have to spend the rest of my life with this one person - unless they die of course... we can always hope."
"Where are you going with this, Y/N?" Benedict asked wairly.
"What if the person I marry starts off lovely but then turns into a horrible human being?" She asked.
Colin sighed softly. "Then, we would sort something out. There is always a solution, one way or another."
Y/N drained her tea, grimacing at the aftertaste. "Urgh, Benedict, you need to work on your tea-making skills, this is disgusting."
"What are you own about?" Benedict asked, frowning. "You love my tea."
"Well, not this one. It was disgusting," Y/N said, setting the cup down and pushing it away.
Benedict looked at the cup. His eyes slowly widened as he realised that there was another cup directly next to it, still full of steaming tea. "That was my tea."
"Oh. Sorry."
"Colin, she drank the tea," Benedict said, slowly, looking at his brother.
Y/N frowned. "It is the same tea. Is it... not?"
Colin opened his mouth and then promptly closed it again. He turned to his sister. "How do you feel?"
"Fine. Brother, you are scaring me slightly."
"No, no, it is nothing to worry about," Colin replied quickly. "I think," he added quietly. "It is just that I gave Benedict this new tea I brought back from my travels and it has a certain... effect on an individual."
Y/N blinked. "Colin Bridgerton, did you just drug me?"
"No, no, no, I drugged Benedict."
"And inadvertently drugged me!" Y/N exclaimed. "Oh, my god, we have dinner with the Sharma's and Lady Danbury tonight. Colin, is there a way to reverse it?"
"Well, I assume throwing up would work, but I fear it might be too late," Colin replied, trying not to laugh.
"Colin, don't you dare laugh," Y/N snapped. "This is not funny!"
"Alright, both of you calm down," Benedict said, holding his hands out. "Y/N, you will be fine. Will keep an eye on you and stop you from making a fool of yourself."
"That does not reassure me in any way," she grumbled. "Fine. But do not tell Anthony or mama, I am embarrassed enough as it is."
"If they find out we shall simply blame Colin," Benedict told her, patting her hand sympathetically. "I blame Colin a lot, it makes my life easier."
"I am still in the room!" Colin exclaimed.
"Fine," Y/N grumbled. "But if I start going mad, please just knock me out or something."
Tumblr media
High Y/N was not something Benedict nor Colin had been prepared for.
It had taken about twenty minutes for the drug to actually start working. At first, it had just been like she was a little tipsy. A stumble here, a giggle there. But then the tipsy turned to drunk and soon it became clear that Y/N was high as... well, a high person.
"Mother is going to kill us," Colin muttered, holding Y/N's arm tightly.
Benedict nodded. "As is Anthony," he added. "Why does this house have so many stairs?"
Y/N missed a step and both brothers lurched forward, catching her before she lost her balance entirely. Their younger sister just giggled, swaying happily between them.
"Benny, you have such pretty eyes," Y/N said, her voice unusually high-pitched. "Oh, look, that's gorgeous."
Y/N freed herself from her brothers and dashed down the final few steps, rushing over to a bronze statue. Benedict winced, fully expecting her to fall flat on her face as she jumped the last step, but Y/N kept her balance.
"Y/N, do not," Colin swooped over and took the statue from her, "touch the statue."
Y/N crossed her arms and looked grumpily at her brother. "You have gotten meaner since you came back."
Colin gaped at his sister. "Excuse you!"
"What, it's true! You are incredibly annoying!"
Y/N turned on her heel and flounced down the corridor, heading towards the dining room. Benedict took one look at his brother - who still looked incredibly offended - and snorted.
"Don't take it personally, brother," he said, clapping him on the shoulder.
"Does she actually mean that?"
"Everyone means it."
Colin shot his brother a withering look. "Come on, before she breaks something."
Somehow, Benedict and Colin managed to arrange the seating so that Y/N was sat in between them, opposite Eloise and Miss Sharma - but far away from Anthony and Miss Edwina. They were both hoping it would minimise the chaos caused and mean that Anthony was none the wiser.
"Peas make me sad."
"What?" Colin asked, turning his head sharply to look at his sister. "Peas?"
Y/N nodded, gently prodding a pea with her fork. "They are such a sad vegetable. It must be quite lonely to be a pea."
Eloise stared at her twin across the table, utterly confunded. She looked at Benedict and Colin, reading their shared glance in an instant. "What did you two idiots do to her?" She whispered.
"We didn't do anything," Benedict whispered back. "She drank the wrong tea."
"Please explain," Eloise said, raising her eyebrows.
Benedict sighed. "Colin had this tea -"
"That makes you feel like you're floating on a piece of grass?" Kate cut in, keeping her voice quiet.
Colin blinked at her. "You know it?"
"I tried it once. I ended up floating on my back in a river because I thought I was flying."
Eloise turned from Kate. "You drugged my sister?"
"Our sister."
"At this moment in time she's mine," Eloise told him. "You two drugged her."
"We did not -"
"Miss Sharma, you look very beautiful tonight," Y/N said dreamily, resting her chin on her hand as she stared at Kate.
Kate pressed her lips together tightly, trying not to laugh. "Why thank you, Miss Y/N."
"I wish my brother would just admit he lo-"
Benedict leant over and clamped a hand over Y/N's mouth, drowning out the rest of her sentence. He knocked his knife off his plate and onto the floor, the noise temporarily silencing the dining room.
"Everything alright, Benedict?" Violet asked warily, glancing over at him.
"Fine, mother," Benedict replied, quickly letting go of Y/N. "I knocked my knife."
After a few more wary glances their way, everyone eventually went back to their conversations.
"Our dear sister evidently does not have a filter," Colin muttered, picking up Benedict's knife and handing it to him.
"I only hope dinner ends before she talks to Miss Edwina," Benedict replied, slapping Y/N's hand gently as she went for his potatoes. "Otherwise Anthony may murder us."
Luckily for both brothers, Y/N's dream-like state was beginning to wear off. Instead, they were faced with an overly-emotional Y/N whose body was trying to detox from a drug she'd never had before.
The rest of dinner passed uneventfully. Anthony made a speech which Y/N didn't so much as acknowledge - she was too busy staring mournfully into a candle - and then everyone excused themselves, almost all deciding to retire for the night.
"She looks so sad," Y/N said softly.
Benedict turned, seeing that his sister had stopped halfway up the stairs. "Who does?"
Y/N pointed up at a painting high up on the wall. "She looks so very sad."
Benedict looked up at Colin, who just shrugged. With a sigh, Benedict pivoted and jogged back down the stairs, standing next to his sister.
He looked up at the painting, one he hadn't necessarily realised was there before and squinted slightly. "I suppose so, yes."
"I always see her when I leave my room," Y/N continued, her voice small, "yet I never asked who she is." She looked up at her brother. "Is that what will happen to me?"
"What will?"
"I'll just be... forgotten about? No one will ask who I am when they look at my portrait?"
Benedict stumbled over his words for a moment. "I... Y/N, I don't think -"
"If you think about it, I suppose that's all we are," Y/N said quietly, her voice catching occasionally. She sat down on the steps and pulled her knees up to her chest, wrapping her hands around her ankles. "All that is left of our father is a painting in the study."
And suddenly, the amusement of the night vanished. Benedict felt like the air had been sucked right out of him. He looked up at Colin and cursed quietly when he saw his brother had vanished.
"Y/N..." Benedict sighed, sitting down beside her. He clasped his hands together, glancing at the signet ring on his little finger. "Father is not just a painting. He is in this house, he's in all of us... he's in Anthony's infuriating pocket watch -"
"But the image of him is gone. All we have is an artist's impression that probably is not even that accurate," Y/N countered. "I know he is still here but I do not remember what he looks like. Because the painting is just that - a painting. Someone's depiction of him as Viscount Bridgerton. Not my dad."
Benedict closed his eyes. He had nothing to say to his sister because she was right - as always. Memories are fleeting and the mind can warp things in many different ways. How his sister remembered their father was possibly entirely different to how Benedict remembered him - how Anthony remembered him.
"I would like to go to bed now," Y/N said softly, lifting her head up and looking at Benedict.
"Of course."
Benedict stood up and held out a hand to Y/N, pulling her to her feet. They walked up the rest of the stairs, side by side, in silent company. Y/N only spoke once - and that was to utter a small night to Benedict as she headed to her bedroom.
Utterly stumped, Benedict exhaled slowly, putting his hands on his waist. He dropped his head, looking down at the floor.
"Where is she?"
"Well she was - oh."
"Oh?"
"Well, she was here!"
"Colin Bridgerton, I swear -"
Benedict leant over the bannisters. "What are you two doing?"
Anthony and Colin both looked up at him. Colin had evidently found Anthony in his study for his older brother was wearing nothing but his dress shirt and trousers, looking utterly exhausted with a slight hint of concern. Benedict stared at them expectantly.
"Where's Y/N?" Anthony asked, taking the stairs two at a time.
Benedict glanced at Colin. "Did you tell him -"
"Of course, he told me!" Anthony exclaimed, raising his voice only slightly, not wanting to wake the rest of the household up. "Y/N is his soft spot - of course, he buckled and told me. Where is she?"
Benedict nodded at the door behind him. "She went to bed. Anthony, I didn't say anything to bring it on -"
"No, it's fine. I've been expecting someone to have a moment about father whilst we're here - grief is unpredictable." Anthony wanted to add I would know but decided against it. "I had mine this morning."
"The grave?" Colin asked softly.
Anthony nodded tightly. "I am still incredibly pissed that you two drugged her."
"We didn't -"
"You were going to drug him," Anthony snapped, pointing at Colin and then at Benedict. "You, shush." He softened slightly, adding, "but thank you for looking after her."
Benedict gave him a tiny smile. "She's not asleep," he said, pointing at the door.
"I know, she's not."
Anthony brushed past his brother and knocked quietly on Y/N's door. He waited a few seconds before he opened it, stepping inside with gentle footsteps.
"They told you?"
His sister's voice was quiet. She was curled up on the top corner of her bed, hugging a pillow and looking out the window. Her dress was still on and she'd had a half-hearted attempt at taking her hair down. Anthony slowly walked over to her, perching himself on the edge of her bed.
"Colin has a soft spot for you."
Y/N smiled half-heartedly. She picked at the tassels on the corner of her pillow, looking out at the grounds. "I knew coming back here would be hard," she said quietly, "because it always is. I just did not expect this year to be so difficult. I suppose being high does not help."
Anthony nodded. He crossed his ankles, exhaling softly. "When we first returned here after... after the incident, it was incredibly difficult. His presence is still here - I can almost feel him watching me, sometimes."
"I went into your study earlier, looking for you," Y/N said quietly. "That's when I saw the portrait. I have seen it before - there's one back in London as well. But it just occurred to me that... it is simply a depiction of him. Of him as a viscount, not him as a father."
"I see." Anthony sighed. "That portrait looks down on me every single day of my life and I have studied it until my eyes went blurry. I sometimes look to it for advice - asking what would you do? But I know that it is not our father. It is simply Viscount Bridgerton. Our father smiled, for one."
Y/N ducked her head, smiling at that. Anthony pushed himself further back onto the bed and laid down next to her. Y/N rolled into his side, still hugging the pillow.
"I remember when Daphne first began to learn the pianoforte," Anthony continued, his hand absently tracing circles on Y/N's arm, "he used to dance around the room with you. He would lift you up and let you put your feet on top of his shoes and then you would do a waltz around the room together."
Y/N closed her eyes, a few tears escaping down onto her cheeks. "I wish I had something, so I knew what he looked like in those moments."
Anthony reached down to his waistcoat and pulled his father's watch out. He grabbed Y/N's hand and gently placed the object in her palm, folding her fingers over it.
"I carry this with me everywhere I go. It reminds me of him and it reminds me that he is still here - in the little things we all do. He had this on him every day of his life, up until he died. So, whilst it is not a painting, it is still something of him when he was our father."
Y/N rubbed her thumb along the back of it where EB was engraved. She sniffed softly, carefully dabbing under eyes. "Thank you. For this and for not getting mad at me for being high."
Anthony let out a breath of laughter, resting his chin on top of his sister's head. "Technically, you were not to blame for that."
"I thought the tea tasted weird."
He laughed, pressing a kiss to her hair. "You should get some sleep," he said, preparing to move.
Y/N grabbed his wrist. "Can you stay? If you are busy, you do not -"
"Of course, I will stay," Anthony said firmly, lying back down. Y/N smiled tiredly at him and his heart ached as he caught a glimpse of eleven-year-old Y/N, clinging on to him when he returned back after being away.
"You are the best brother," Y/N told him, reaching down and pulling her duvet up and over them both.
"Well, I am the only one who did not get you high."
"Gregory had no involvement but I am sure if he had been old enough, he would have been the instigator."
"Oh, of course, he would. You know, Greg actually shares father's love of pranks."
Y/N lifted her head, looking at Anthony. "Really?"
"Mmhm. He once put glue, in Benedict's shoes. Benedict was furious, naturally..."
Anthony proceed to tell Y/N all the stories he could of their father until her eyes could stay open no more and his voice was hoarse. He knew he was never going to be his father - but he hoped that he was close enough.

Bridgerton reader where she’s 10/11 and really close to Benedict and Colin but she’s scared of Anthony because ‘he’s no fun and mean’ and reader was in her mothers room because she fell outside and hurt her arm so mama was taking care of her but Anthony comes in and reader gets shy.
A/N- I am so sorry this took so long! I am in the process of moving so I have been very busy. Hope you like it! :)
Warning- None
Pronouns- She/her
Word Count- 567
Summary- Young Y/N Bridgerton gets injured gardening with Mama and Anthony is very worried.
Careful
Tumblr media
I was helping Mama tend to the garden when there was a slight incident. As Colin and Benedict remind me every day I am not the most graceful. That fact probably contributed to me tripping over the tiny garden shovel and falling into the thorns of a rose bush.
Mama quickly pulls me out of the bush and checks me over. She lets out a gasp at my covered in thorns and already developing violet bruise.
“Come quickly darling let me fix you up,” Mom says kissing the top of my head and directing me towards the house.
Benedict and Colin were sitting on the couch but once they see my state they quickly rush over to me.
Colin practically suffocates me by squishing my face “Are you okay! What on earth has happened”
Benedict swats Colin's hands “Let the poor girl speak!”
I giggle at their antics even though my eyes are still watering from the injury. Mama quickly starts ordering the two to do things.
“Benedict get the tweezers and call the doctor, Colin get a cold rag for the swelling!” Mama says sternly.
Benedict and Colin both salute her “Anything for precious Y/N!” They say in unison.
They both make me giggle and they look very proud of themselves. Mother sighs at their antics and has me go to her room while they gather supplies.
As I wait for Mama to come in with the supplies and the doctor Anthony enters the room.
“Are you okay Y/N I heard you were injured!” He rushes out anxiously.
“I’m fine” I stutter out playing with my hair nervously.
“Come on Y/N. You really have to be more careful you are always getting injured and worrying Mother.”
I roll my eyes and go to cross my arms but remember the injury and hiss at the pain.
“This is what I mean Y/N you have to think before you do things! You have to stop worrying everyone.” He says upset.
I had just enough of Anthony being rude to me I get up and storm off to my own room and slam the door. I assume Anthony immediately rushes after me because almost immediately I heard a knock at my door.
“Leave me alone Anthony you are mean and no fun!” I shout through the door.
“Please let me in Y/N you are going to get worse if you just ignore your injury.” Anthony pleads
“You only ever care about me when I get hurt and worry the family you never care about me!” I shout
I can hear Anthony slide down the door and sit “That is not true.”
It almost sounds like Anthony is struggling to get the words out when he says “It's just that you look and act so much like Father... I get so scared I am scared we will lose you just like him. I am sorry I push you away I am just scared to lose you I should not have put that on you.”
I open the door and frown at Anthony holding back tears. “I'm sorry Anthony I may not know Father well but you all describe him as a hero and I’m glad I remind you of him. I will try to be more careful from now on.”
Anthony smiles and wraps an arm around my shoulder. “Thank you, sister. Now let's get that arm took care of.”

paring: Benedict, Colin x sister! reader
warnings: none
requested by anon
"helloooo, requesting for the domestic drabble thingyy <3
Maybe a Benedict and Colin x Bridgerton sis with the scene either from that iconic pall mall scene or just with Benedict being high and stuff!! 💙🤍"
a/n: Hey, first of all, I love this request. I decided to go with pall mall scene. I know it was supposed to be a drabble, but I got carried away and it turned into an one shot, I hope you like it anon <3
I also added a song in the middle, listen to it while reading this for better experience ^^
gifs are mine, give credit if you use
summary: while playing the game, Y/n stumbles upon her childhood hideaway. She is not the only one who reminisces her childhood fondly, her older brothers realise how fast she is slipping away from their grasp.
--------------
"Let's toss a coin" Colin proposed.
"Last year we promised to let the youngest pick first", Eloise chirped in.
"Not fair", Y/n added.
In any other time, Y/n would have accepted and pulled the same 'I'm the youngest and I shall get my way' card, but she was a year older than Eloise and she did not agree to her proposal and showed her disapproval by nudging her younger sister's side.
"We pick based on alphabet order" her oldest brother demanded.
Thus the siblings began to bicker, until Daphne cut them off, sharply. "Everyone, please, now. The only fair thing to do is to let our invited guests choose their mallets and strike first" she declared with gracefulness, proving her title of a Duchess.
Anthony's demeanor changed, seemingly everyone mutually agreed to it.
The game proceeded in fast pace, many entertaining moments between the Bridgerton Siblings and the Sharma sisters taking place.
Tumblr media
"Aw so close!" Y/n let out a whine when the ball didn't pass through the iron hoop.
A teasing laugh from Colin didn't make her pout vanish. She swatted his hand away when he ruffled the top of hair.

At that precise moment, to Benedict she seemed like the five year old who would tug at his hand with the same pout, asking him to get her more sweets when she knew she wasn't allowed to, not the nineteen year old who had her debut this season.
She wasn't the diamond of the season unlike his other sister, but that didn't seem to faze her one bit.
A clap on his shoulder tethered him back to reality from his reverie. "It's your turn, brother" Anthony said.
After a while, however, Miss Edwina chose to retire back to the stands and have refreshments with their mothers.
Y/n's next shot went too far to her liking.

"No way! I'm not quitting" she marched bravely towards the trees following the direction of the ball went.
When she did not return after few minutes, Benedict and Colin got worried and decided to check on her.
.
The worried expression on Benedict's face eased into nostalgic one when he witnessed what his little sister was upto.
Her mallet layed carelessly on the floor next to dried ground to the mud puddle where the ball was.
She was perched on the swing that was attached to the sturdy old white oak tree. Upon hearing footsteps, she turned her neck to glance back, "Look brothers!" she moved legs, pushing the swing.
Her hair flowing in the wind, her soft blue dress swayed along the movement of the swing in gentle motion, the fabric coated in dirt. She was sure she would get an earful from her mother for it, which she choose to ignore.
The sweet, innocent smile she had on her face made Colin stop in his tracks.
He mentally swore it was the same seven year old girl Benedict and Colin used to push in the swing when they were younger. This was their place, their own little thing.
Her little legs could not reach the ground sitting on it, and sometimes Colin would perch her on his lap, holding her tightly with one hand and pushing the swings with his legs. He could still hear the echoes of her laughter.
It is as if he could see the ghosts of their sweet childhood in that moment.
"Are you alright, brother?" she asked Colin.
"Huh? Yes! I mean, yes"
She got off the swing. Grabbing her mallet, she made her way past them. The forlorn look on their eyes didn't go unnoticed by her.
When none of them moved, she called out, "Are you both coming?"
To that question, they nodded dumbly and followed her back to the game.
.
"Yes! Yes!" Y/n cheered excitedly when she got a clean shot, right through the hoop.
"Lucky one!" Anthony commented.
Y/n stuck her tongue out at her oldest brother.
"Your head is elsewhere, brother. Otherwise, you never would have given me such an easy shot" Colin said, hitting the ball easily through the iron loop.
"I will admit. My thoughts are far from the field" he admitted honestly.

Colin gestured for Benedict to talk, although he had a sure guess on what was on his brother's mind and he himself was mulling over it.
"It's Y/n" Benedict wasn't sure if Colin would harbour same thought as him or he would brush him off.
But that was far from the reality, Colin too, felt it, realised it, but was hesitant to admit it openly. To admit the truth that their kid sister is not a kid anymore.
The odd melancholy.
The realisation dawned, weighed on them like a heavy iron rock had been placed over their chests.
.
.
Even after the game, they could not focus on anything else.
Every step inside the Aubrey hall reminded them of it.
Sure, of course Benedict and Colin had more young siblings to hold on to, and coddle, but that wasn't the point now. Y/n always had a special part in Benedict's heart. Soon, both of them began to reminisce fond little moments.
He remembered the very first moment she came into their lives. It was a sweet spring morning. Fragrance of Violet's fresh roses wafted gently in the air.
The sun rays greeted them pleasantly warm through the window. Violet laid on bed, her brown hair cascading down her shoulder. Edmund cooed at the baby in his arms.
Nine year old Benedict and four year old Colin's feet padded into the room, their eyes wide in excitement and curiosity.
"She is so tiny, papa" Colin made a comment.
Edmund chuckled. "She is just a baby, my boy"
Benedict's eyes never left the baby. His baby sister. "What's her name, papa?"
Edmund gave Violet a knowing look before answering, "Y/n"
"Do you wish to hold her, Benedict?" Violet's voice was soft.
Thus baby Y/n was placed on Benedict's lap. She looked up at him with her wide, baby eyes.
He leaned over and placed a gentle kiss on her head. She scrunched her tiny nose, sneezing adorably. Hearty laughs of Violet and Edmund filled the room.
"I don't know if you remember this, brother, but my name was Y/n's first word". Benedict knew it was silly but he was proud of that.
It was in this drawing room one year old baby Y/n uttered her very first word.
Anthony, Benedict and Colin fought over it. Constantly around Y/n, prompting her to say her first word. Her first word was not 'Anthony' or 'Colin' or 'Ma' like Violet had hoped.
When baby Y/n attempted to say 'Benny' in her adorable baby voice, ten year old Benedict's heart warmed. He swore to protect this little girl. His baby sister.
A bittersweet smile bloomed in his face at the memory, her cherub face was still clear on his mind. She was wearing an orange and white dress, matching her bright orange bow, adorning her soft baby hair.
"Oh, I remember" Colin shook his head with a fond smile on his face. "But you do know that I'm her favourite, right?"
Now, Colin loved all his siblings equally but Y/n was his little angel. Daphne got along well with Anthony, Eloise favoured Benedict more and Y/n was his little partner in crime.
As soon as she leaned to walk, she mirrored Colin. She was his partner in crime when he pranked his other siblings.
Both of their brothers got pulled out of their track of their sweet nostalgia by baby Augie's laughter. Y/n was bouncing her baby nephew in her arms, making silly faces and making him giggle with a wide grin plastered on her face.
Y/n was not the girl with her hair tied up in pigtails and an adorable tooth gap who wanted a piggyback ride, or the little girl who wanted to play swords with paper swords or the little girl who enjoyed tea parties.
She was a lovely young woman; she would be another man's wife and leave their family to start her own.
Benedict did not realise his eyes welled up until he felt a tear rolled down his cheek. Before anyone could notice, he turned away and quickly wiped his eyes. But Colin didn't fail to see that, but chose not to comment on it.
When did she grow up?
Time is dual.
It was both a friend and a foe. This time, it was their enemy. Oh, how they wished to keep time at bay, so they would make her linger in sweet childhood just for few moments longer.
But alas, it was inevitable.
And they decided to cherish the moments they had till she marries into another family this season.
.
When her brothers approached her with an amusing proposal, Y/n was surprised.
"You want to play in the swings again?"
"Just like we used to when we were kids" Colid said.
She knew. She knew what prompted her dear brothers.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" she chirped.
Of course she remembered the longing look on their faces earlier. If this could make them happy, she would do it.
"Last one to the swing is a rotten egg!", with that, she sprinted outside with a grin.
Colin took few seconds to register, soon, he followed her. "Feeling too old, brother?" he yelled out as he ran after Y/n.
On that calm spring evening, playing in that old, family swing, they were little children once again.
Benedict followed his siblings outside and beat them to it.
