Since today is Emmy Day here’s a friendly reminder that two years ago at the Emmys when the cast of Game of Thrones presented together one final time, Gwendoline Christie got the loudest and biggest reception out of the whole cast. ☕
FYI, Gwen's part starts at 1:35 for those who want to skip ahead.
Come on people! It's 2021! Enough with these bullshit fix-its! You should be moving on now! Show!Jaime didn't love Brienne! She deserves better than him and it's incredibly insulting to imply he has a chance after the bullshit he did... shitty prophecies and groveling won't undo the bs he did!
In the parallel universe of my mind where GOT was adapted the way it should have been (which means j/b arc wasn’t butchered to serve the twincest fetish fanfic d&d are so fond of and the characters would have been properly adapted from the beginning, which means book rights for Bri and JayLan), there’s a “spin off” that happened between seasons where it’s about Lady Stoneheart, the brotherhood without banners, j/b, quiet isle and everything pertaining to that arc. So it could be told properly while the other arcs remained in the main show. It would be a one season only, maybe 5 or 6 episodes, in between GOT seasons, and then this part of the story would be dealt with and the characters would come back to the main show to continue the story as it should.
The spin off would be a success, HBO would get a lot of money, and we would have j/b as the main focus of six wonderful episodes and lady stoneheart would get the arc she deserves. I am very happy in this parallel universe actually

“Why?” Lord Rowan asked her. “Look at them. They’re young and strong, full of life and laughter. And lust, aye, more lust than they know what to do with. There will be many a bastard bred this night, I promise you. Why pity?”
“Because it will not last,” Catelyn answered, sadly. “Because they are the knights of summer, and winter is coming.”

Illustrated one of my favourite Brienne and Catelyn moments :) Loved that one so much that one my first read that i put an ear into the page…
I don’t think I can fully articulate where this is coming from
but it is very important to me that Brienne of Tarth is no-doubt-about-it, capital-U Ugly
AND it is very important to me that she wants a stereotypical, fairytale romance
AND it is very important to me that she wouldn’t know what to do if she ever got that stereotypical, fairytale romance, because she’s so used to wanting what society says she can’t have that she’s convinced herself she doesn’t want it
AND it is very important to me that she gets what she wants anyway.
