EDIT: I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT I MEANT REGIONAL DEX. AND DIDN'T REALISE UNTIL 6 DAYS LATER
!POSTGAME LIKE THE SINNOH UNDERGROUND DOES NOT COUNT!
Let me know what your favourite Pokemon is!
Also please share if possible, I kinda need large results for the point I'm making with this (that some of us have been cursed to never be able to use our favourite Pokemon in a playthrough lol)
Say whatever you want about BDSP as remakes...but at least we can agree that they really enhanced that creepy red-eyed staring portrait at the Old Chateau right?
Minor Spoilers for Scarlet and Violet, plus theory.
There is a lady who will you rotom phone cases corresponding to your past lives. By reading save data from other Pokémon games on your console. She even gives you a phone case that looks exactly like the Arc-Phone commenting how we explored a place called Hisui. Despite her not knowing where/what that is, Past-Lives lady has this phone case related to it on hand.
Game-wise this gives another Easter egg for the Legends Arceus game. The other is found in history class and I will leave for you to find. But from an in-universe perspective this must be very confusing. Can you imagine being told you have past lives where you saves various regions from evil teams messing with Legendaries? She would seem crazy… until you start having dreams about being other people. Having different names and building different teams to journey across various regions. Not to mention you are a pretty talented battler who popped up over night. Talent bleeding over to this life?
Florian/Julianna seem to be from Galar given their mother’s slang. Which doesn’t have the best tract record remembering their legendary Pokémon. Let us assume the events of the main series games happen at least a year after each other. Besides Hoenn and Sinnoh happens between the two year time skip of Gold + Silver. The player character knows how to evolve certain Pokémon like say Malamar who’s evo method is turning upside down. Would that be obvious to most people in the Pokémon World? Probably not since the species is rumored to have shaped history through mind control.
Past lives could translate to us, the player, living through these various adventures controlling the main character. A little creepy given we are apparently puppeting ten-year-olds in some… It would be amazing if this was an in-game confirmation that reincarnation exists there. Makes the whole ghosts being a type thing even more spiritual in a way. All I have to say on the matter while I write another snippet.
yknow the more i think about it, the more im pretty sure the last 3 or 4 games are leading up to something. they’ve all tied into space or time in some way.
kalos? the old pokemon war, AZ being immortal and wanting to bring something back to life, while lysandre wants to remake the world with a god pokemon
alola? the whole wormhole thing, but also usum having the confirmation of alternate timelines with original design maxie & archie and no mention of mega evolution, not to mention several characters being pulled through the wormholes from different dimensions
galar? eternatus coming from space in a meteorite a long time in the past, the plot being about figuring out a hidden past, and rose wanting to avert something that will happen a long time in the future
legends arceus? do i need to explain? volo, being set in the past and directly about time travel, having a bunch of ancestors even though some of their descendants are in entirely different regions, the fact its specifically in sinnoh home of The Guy Who Wanted To Remake The World With A God Pokemon (before lysandre did)
paldea? its whole Thing is that there are pokemon from different time eras falling into the present, roaring moon’s dex entry confirms at least Scarlet is set in the mega evolution timeline, theres also this underlying thing about mortality with arven’s story
it might span back further to older games but i dont know the plots of the older games aside from diamond and pearl, which are obviously tied in.
interesting how they decided to remake a gen, and out of all of them, they picked diamond and pearl, directly before legends arceus was released.
there’s definitely a tie here, and it feels like its building towards something, i just dont know what
Hi sorry I need to do some more Pokemon posting bc this is the funniest shit. the cute-looking Pokèmon TCG series is making "TM10" part of its branding. Like, TM10 from the games - its the TM for the move Hidden Power, thats cute! Its reflecting the main character discovering herself in the same way the move works in the game, what a cute little detail!
Except uh. Just one problem.
Game Freak in all their brilliance removed Hidden Power from the franchise four years ago in Generation 8* and its still not able to be used in Scarlet and Violet. Its not just that you cant teach it to Pokèmon anymore, you straight up cannot use the attack even if you trade in Pokèmon from older games who know it. Its like a banned technique.
So then that begs the question – if the TCG show is gonna be referencing TM10 this much, but TM10 *isn't* Hidden Power anymore, surely that means TM10 is another similarly inspiring attack - Stored Power, or Calm Mind, or Smart Strike?
Well, depending on if its Gen 8 or 9, I hope the kids will have fun Discovering Their Own Magical Leaf and/or Discovering Their Own Ice Fang. Truly inspiring words. love how well managed this franchise is
Ever since the pokemon company announced the dex cut back in 2019, I've been worried about certain pokemon going multiple generations without being included in any games. So today I've decided to take a look back through all the pokemon switch games so far, to see which pokemon are the most in need of a come back.
