Have you ever terminally extubated a child ridden with cancer & watched them pass into the afterlife? #heartwrenching #bringonthetears I have. Have you ever hugged the sobbing parent(s) that has just made the decision for the Healthcare Team TO allow their child to pass into the afterlife? #breaksmyheart #moretears I have. Both instances (on many occasions) have pushed me to a private place (typically it's the closest bathroom) & have made me question everything I know about faith, all while ugly crying over the loss of an innocent life that left this world too soon. #uglycrying #questioningfaith Why!? Why does a CHILD die from cancer? What have they done to deserve this?? What can I do to prevent this from happening to one of my own??? #cancersucks #punchcancerintheface These questions drove me to look for answers. I have been reading, listening & learning for the past year & a half. I have learned that 1 in 3 cases of cancer in the US are directly linked to poor diet, physical inactivity, weight or chemical exposure. The American Cancer Society states that only 5% to 10% of all cancer cases are from gene defects. This means that more that 95% of cancer cases are PREVENTABLE! #prevention #cancerprevention #anounceofpreventionisworthmorethanapondofcure 🥗 Poor diet is something that we have been changing on the daily. When you grow up with certain habits they tend to die hard, but it is something that is being diligently changed in our household. #poordietpoorhealth #healthyfoods #breakingbadhabits 💪🏻 Physical inactivity has already exited our doorway. I am guilty of this. I live a very busy life. I mark up my being on the go all the time as physical activity. However, this is NOT what the body needs. Six weeks ago we made the decision to join a gym. All four of us go and have given physical inactivity the boot.
