The BBC went out of their way to spread misinformation about Scotland’s hate crime laws.

They did this deliberately alongside right-wing billionaires Elon Musk and JK Rowling whipping their fans into a frenzy over it.

They apologise now, but the damage has been done. A sizeable portion of online discourse for the past few weeks has been on Scotland becoming a police state with a lot of Islamophobia directed towards Scotland’s first minister.

Scotland’s media should be absolutely gutted. It need a complete clean slate. There are far too many people with ulterior motives running the show.

What I want to know, is where are all these jobs magically meant to come from that thousands of people might be pressured into taking, having had their benefits taken away

For starters, companies already don't want to hire enough people because it eats into ~profits~ and so many places are purposely understaffed beyond belief from that

Are pointless non-jobs gonna be invented for the sake of it? Even more pointless crap that doesn't need doing just for the sake of numbers, like work from home cold calling jobs and other awful times

Like a surge in gig jobs, which are already brutal and fucked up enough that anyone working like that usually burns out a couple weeks in - if they even get any work after forking out money for the shit needed to do the work

What happens when shit hits the fan and there's actually not enough jobs (or companies willing to pay properly) to support everyone, and half the country has no way to stay homed

not nearly enough people are fuming about the cass review. do you understand the eventual implications? trans people in the uk will be considered children up until the age of 25, and denied HRT/surgery/even basic measures like legal name change and social transition. all owing to a biased and largely unscientific study. you know what “treatment” for gender dysphoria is recommended by the review instead? conversion therapy.

this will kill people and they know it, because they prefer us dead and out of sight. the government, the NHS and even the opposition have made this clear again and again. a twenty-five year old can have sex, get married have children, join the military, earn a living, be halfway up the corporate ladder or highly successful in their chosen career field by that age, but they can’t transition under NHS rules. this is a death sentence for trans teenagers and they are going ahead with it. it’s trans genocide, same as across the pond.

i’m so afraid for my trans siblings and our futures. i’m so scared for myself. what are we to do if not even the party that is supposed to be on the “left” gives a shit about our safety and mental health as long as they get voted in? labour have become tories with a red coat of paint. it all feels hopeless

Head of UK’s leading anti-monarchy group arrested at coronation protest

Republic’s Graham Smith held at protest on King Charles III’s procession route in central London

The head of the UK’s leading republican movement has been arrested at an anti-monarchist protest on King Charles III’s procession route.

Graham Smith had been collecting drinks and placards for demonstrators at Trafalgar Square when he was detained by police on the Strand in central London.

It is understood Smith was detained after bringing a megaphone to the demonstration. The Met police had tweeted earlier this week that they would have a “low tolerance” of those seeking to “undermine” the day.

Harry Stratton, a director at Republic, who arrived as Smith and the others were detained, said: “They were collecting the placards and bringing them over when the police stopped them.

“The guys asked why and they were told: we will tell you that once we have searched the vehicle. That’s when they arrested the six organisers. We asked on what grounds they had been arrested but they wouldn’t say. It is a surprise as we had had a number of meetings with the police. They had been making all the right noises”.
