Si hay algo que siempre amé de Watford, es el picnic de bienvenida que se celebra cada año, un día antes de que inicie oficialmente el curso.

Es cierto que nací dentro del mundo de los hechiceros, pero no siempre me siento cómoda dentro de él. Me sentí así durante todos los años que estudié aquí. En este día era diferente, pues el ambiente era tan cálido que era difícil no sentirme como parte de algo.

Ya no soy una alumna. Pero al vivir aquí en Watford, como cuidadora de cabras,tengo tanto derecho de asistir como cualquier otro de los que trabajan aquí.

Ebb venía algunas veces, la llegué a ver en un par de ocasiones. Aunque ella era diferente a mi en ese aspecto, realmente no le gustaba convivir demasiado con otros magos. (Salvo Simon, claro.) (Es difícil librarse de Simon Snow; aunque ya no me molesta como solía hacerlo.) Es irónico como las últimas palabras de Ebb para mi fueron “Corre por tu vida” y, aún así, terminé viviendo como ella. A veces quisiera haber sido más amable con ella.

No viene al evento sola. Niamh, que viene a revisar a las cabras y a visitarme, está conmigo. Ella y yo… no sé que somos. Pasamos bastante tiempo juntas y nos besamos y actuamos como una pareja, aunque no hemos hablado al respecto. ¿Nos podemos considerar novias? Ni siquiera estoy segura de poder considerarme lesbiana.

Cómo sea, ahora el punto es que estamos sentadas en una manta, tomadas de la mano y observando la ceremonia con el Crisol. La directora Bunce lanzó un hechizo para que se puedan ver fuegos artificiales en el cielo, pero no tienen sonido. Es un lindo espectáculo

El otoño está iniciando y yo decidí usar uno de mis vestidos de verano. Mala idea. Suelto la mano de Niamh y me rodeo a mi misma con ambos brazos.

—¿Estás bien?—dice ella.

Me derrite un poco por dentro como siempre nota cualquier cambio que tengo.

—Si, es solo que está refrescando, y olvidé traer un chal.

Ella está usando un overol de mezclilla y un suéter verde debajo, lo que hace que su cabello resalte bastante. También está usando una chamarra de piel. Se ve guapa.

En un movimiento rápido, se quita dicha prenda. Estira un brazo y la pone a mi alcance. Creo que sus mejillas están un poco rosas.

—Ten, usa mi chaqueta. No quisiera que te enfermes.

En el tiempo que llevo de conocerla, me he dado cuenta de que los actos de servicio son su manera de demostrar que alguien le importa. Siempre está tratando de ayudarme de una u otra manera. Es bueno.

—Gracias Niamh.

Su ropa me queda bastante grande, pero es cómoda. Y tiene su olor impregnado. Me siento protegida por ella. Recargo mi cabeza en su hombro y ella a su vez me abraza con suavidad.

Niamh se inclina y me besa la frente. la gente a nuestro alrededor canta y baila, y los fuegos artificiales siguen iluminando todo. Esta ceremonia siempre me gustó, pero es la primera vez que en realidad me siento parte de ella. Mis ojos se cierran, fácilmente podría quedarme dormida aquí.

—Los de Octavo están bebiendo.—dice Niamh de pronto.

Abro los ojos y miro a dónde ella está apuntando. Es cierto, hay un grupo de estudiantes que beben directamente de una botella de lo que parece ser vodka. Sin embargo…

—No te preocupes por ellos, no es nuestra responsabilidad. Y la resaca que van a tener mañana será suficiente castigo.

Ella se ríe, es un sonido hermoso.

Empujo con suavidad su hombro hasta dejarla recostada de espaldas en la manta. Yo la sigo y me acomodo de lado, para poder verla. Mi mano encuentra la suya y nuestros dedos se entrelazan.

—Eres hermosa Agatha.

De alguna manera, suena como si eso la frustrase. Cómo: "Oh, eres demasiado hermosa y no se que hacer al respecto" Siempre he sabido que soy bella, pero hay algo en la manera en que lo dice que me estruja el corazón.

Me inclino a besarla. Estoy en donde pertenezco.

Wip Wednesday!!

i mean... kinda

thanks @angelsfalling16 and @wellbelesbian for tagging me for WIP Wednesday! its technically Thursday because its after midnight but 🥲 here we go!!

first of all, i wanted to show a bit of the process of my (one and only, i know, i'm sorry) brodylove / brobelove piece for the @carry-on-sapphic-week ! we're all so excited for it, i can feel it in the air! this piece is turning out wildly different from the sketch so i wanted to show this before i post the finished product so i can see how much it changed 👀

as for writing, ive been trying to work on some ficlets to grow a habit of writing and not making a big deal out of short fics and stuff like that; so one project ive focused on is my bigass polycule au, because i love some good old polyam shit. here's a snippet from one of my hurt/comfort pieces! i honestly hope it will be less hurt and more comfort this time, but with my writing... you never know

— I always say no. Every single time.

— Yeah, I know.

— Then why do you keep asking if I want to talk about it?

Shepard shrugs – Simon’s habit is rubbing off on him. On both of them, really.

— I just think… sometime… you might want to talk about it. Need to talk about it, even. And I don’t want you to feel like you can’t come to me just because you’ve said no so many times.— he takes a moment to look up at them, but Baz doesn't say anything – they just look surprised.— You can always come to me if you want to talk. And if you don’t want to talk, too. I know you’re softer than you let on, Baz- It’s okay to seek comfort. It’s okay to want this kind of intimacy.

— Ugh, you sound like my therapist.— they roll their eyes.— It’s so annoying.— but there’s a soft smile on their lips, so Shepard knows they don’t mean it.

and i mean, i did write this today while i was high on anesthesia from my procedure, and now im way too sleepy to have any idea if it's good, but i thought it was worth sharing

last but not least! i don't think i share a lot of devotional pieces and polytheism-related projects on this account, so i wanted to change that for this WIP Wednesday. here's something i've been working on for Helios!

i think its really pretty, even if the sunflowers still need some good work and i havent done basically anything on the winged horse and Helios Himself!

i was tagging a post and something hit me- i hope this event brings us some light on our minor sapphic shipnames! i've only ever seen brobelove/brodylove and pegatha/bunbelove (for side characters, kerixie and ebbiona) with established shipnames but i have no idea what the minor ships (like.... mitlucy??? and lucy x ebb?? the bearwomanholebear x penny?? or something) are being called 🥲

i know, there aren’t really any established ship names, but at least that leaves us free to make up our own and hopefully expand the tags for these ships!

I like both Mitlucy and Lucali for Lucy and Mitali, and i believe @dreamingkc came up with Deshenny for the bearwomanhole demon, Shepard, and Penny. so, when you remove Shep you get… Denny? hm. maybe not 😂

i’ve been trying to figure out a ship name for Ebb and the dryad, either by mixing those two (e.g. dryebb) or by giving the dryad a name (@otherpeoplesheartachept-2 named her Osmunda, which i love, so Ebbmunda!)
