God I can’t tell you how much it bothers me when other progressives are too lazy to vote or make it into a moral grandstanding issue. I’m especially worried about these coming midterms.

I get it. The Dems fucking suck. But to claim they’re “just as bad” as Republicans is so fucking laughable and outright false. Democrats aren’t trying to criminalize being trans. Democrats aren’t passing laws denying healthcare to women and trans people. Democrats aren’t trying to strip away environmental protection laws (or at the very least not as badly as the GOP is). Democrats aren’t propagating hoaxes and misinformation about things like Covid and climate change. Democrats aren’t calling queer people “groomers” and fear-mongering about BLM and immigration.

God it burns me up so fucking much when I see some white Reddit brogressive brag about how they’re not going to vote in the midterms because “the Dems haven’t earned my vote, maybe this time will convince them to change” when things like women’s reproductive rights are actively under attack right now. Also, I’m convinced there must be some astroturfing going on that’s trying to convince leftists/progressives not to vote. Iirc one of the Bernie subreddits ended up being a right-wing recruiting place (with lots of bot messages like “I used to be Bernie or bust, then Trump won me over and I voted for him”).

But I keep thinking about how Bernie turned his WHOLE campaign to focus on Rogan saying something nice about him like it was an endorsement from idk who, God? and then defended the move and Rogan himself when even the most loyal Bernie foot soldiers, who weren't white men, felt uncomfortable with it

Bernie will never say "sorry" even if Rogan goes full Q-anon, and I suspect the warning of that moment, that the Progressive (brogressive) leftist movement is dangerously in love with white male grievance politics, will never be owned by the young people who worshiped Bernie
