I'm laughing at how jealous and possessive Eddie is when it comes to Buck. When Buck and Taylor first start flirting Eddie cuts in without remorse or subtly, the anger at Buck making that reckless promise to Abby to get her fiance back regardless of the danger to his personal safety, his hurt at Buck already forming a team with Taylor for the treasure hunt, and then my personal favorite, his passive aggressiveness during the dinner episode.

I can't recall any other moments, but I am cackling at Eddie. At this point, he should just tattoo his name on Buck's ass and be done with it. 😂

Eddie being a possessive and jealous little shit when it comes to Buck is by far one of my favorite things about him. He literally met Buck and got to know him and within days, he was like “that tall blonde is mine”. There are so many cute and funny moments where Eddie’s jealousy really shows!!!

Eddie interrupting Taylor and Buck trying to flirt in 2.06. The way he strutted towards them with his hands on his hips & his little eyebrow raise. As if he’s looking at Buck all, “What do you think you’re doing?!” He wanted Taylor to know to back off bc that one is taken.

How about when Eddie found out Buck had slept with his therapist in 3.09 and his immediate reaction to that was jealousy. He’s all, “You slept with your therapist?!?” All eyebrow raised and annoyed bc how dare Buck sleep with anyone other than him?!? I love his sassy response so much 😂

Before we even get into the whole Abby of it all in 3.18, let’s not forget in 3.17 when they’re in the truck talking about hot air balloons. And Buck was all giving facts he knew bc of Abby and Eddie’s all “Maddie tell ya that?” With an eyebrow raise. The man knew Buck was most probably talking about Abby and Buck was so quick to change the subject after that bc he lowkey knows how Eddie can be about the Abby subject.

Then the entire Abby of it all in 3.18. That man’s jealousy was radiating off of him. Since the moment he realized who she was, he couldn’t keep it out of his eyes. My favorite part is when he spit out her name in the train and tried to get away from Buck, IN A VERTICAL TRAIN 😂

The crossover episode where Eddie was clearly jealous and bothered by Buck staring at Marjan. His entire body language was closed off with his arms folded and his little attitude when he tells Buck, “You’re staring.” Not only that but his little punch to Buck’s shoulder before he walks off was nothing other than jealousy in my opinion.

Then before he was blatantly jealous about Buck working with Taylor, let’s not forget his petty “Your girlfriend” comment he made to Buck beforehand. And then his little, yeah sure, facial expression.

Then the man used his pretty face and sad eyes to convince Buck to work with him too on the treasure hunt. My favorite was the whole “Go team” moment. He really did so much research to impress Buck with his little facts and Buck’s attention was on Taylor instead 🥲

And of course season 5 where we have the lovely dinner at the Diaz household where Eddie literally looks like he poisoned Taylor’s dinner and is waiting for her to drop dead. Meanwhile the meal he cooked his husband was being completely devoured by him. Eddie dead ass was thinking, “Why is she in my house?!?” Look at his face man that clearly shows how much he dislikes her lol.

Finally, my favorite part is in 5.14, where they’re at the equestrian place and Buck explains to Eddie how he found the place. Buck was all, “I was doing some research with Taylor.” And Eddie rolled his eyes and was all, “What kinda research 🤨?” Even though Eddie was literally the worst he’s ever been mentally, he still can’t help but be jealous at the mere mention of Taylor. His mind probably jumped to a horrible conclusion and he couldn’t hide his jealousy and disdain for that idea. Like how dare Buck mention her name while they’re having a lovely family outing?!? Oh Eddie 😂🥰🥰🥰

In conclusion, Eddie Diaz is in love with Evan Buckley and he really should just put a ring on it already 🫶🏻

Is it me or does it feel like Buck and Eddie were each other's first best friend? Like they've had casual and childhood friends but it feels different with them. They are so devoted and open with each other that it makes them unable to be soft and vulnerable with other people even though they try to. And like the instant they met, they knew their trust would be well placed.

This makes me wonder if they're aware, even partially, that they're friendship is certainly deeper than most, and that there is a possibility for them to become more somewhere down the line.

Oh, I full on believe that they’re each other’s first best friend. I think it’s completely supported by everything we know about their history in canon.

For Buck, we see him in ep 405 at the age of 20, a football star, and yet who does he go to when he’s in need? His sister. When he wants to leave, who does he want with him? His sister. Not for a second do we see him being sad about leaving anyone else behind, or feeling like there’s a best friend he has to at least say goodbye to. Then after he leaves, we see him bouncing around between places, never mentioning any significant friend to Maddie in his postcards. Nor do we see anyone like that featured in any of the flashbacks to the key moments of his journey. The one other person we see is some guy who's ready to ditch Buck for a hookup, and who’s only featured in this trip down memory lane because he unintentionally put Buck on the right path to find the 118, his first real family outside of Maddie. But does Buck have a best friend there? In s1, we don’t really see that. He has a dad figure in Bobby, a great friendship with Hen and Chim, but best friend? No. We never see him choosing to hang out outside of work with any of them one on one, just to hang out and fill each other on stuff. Not like we see Hen with Athena, or Chim and Bobby during that season, or Hen and Chim in later seasons. Edmundo Diaz, Buck’s first ever best friend, confirmed.

In 315, we don’t get to see Eddie before Christopher’s birth, but we still can deduce a few things. We know that he’s becoming a father, but no best friend is in sight at the hospital, nor is one even mentioned. Since Eddie at that point still lives where he grew up, that would imply he doesn’t have a best friend from high school he still hangs out with. And again, one isn’t mentioned either, not even when Eddie decides to leave. We also don’t see Eddie, while he’s serving, talking to a best friend about his issues in his home life, not in a phone call to a friend in the States, and not to another soldier in his unit. We know from his interview in 206 that he did enjoy the camaraderie he had in the army, but it seems like that didn’t develop into having an actual best friend at any point. We don’t see one from the army when Eddie is lying there, injured, after he saved the other soldiers from the helicopter, and we also don’t see a best friend when he returns home. Again, not even a mention of one. Evan Buckley, Eddie’s first ever best friend, also confirmed.

So yes, I have no doubt that a part of the reason they’re so oblivious isn’t just that they’re morons, it’s also that they sincerely don’t get how special what they have is. They cared about and trusted each other almost immediately, which is a profound kind of connection. Then they form this beautiful friendship where they’re there for each other right away, and it’s especially lovely since neither one of them has any experience with being another person’s best friend. But you can see how naturally they fit into that role for each other. But then they become fully partners, they share with each other everything, including a kid! They do that in a way none of the other good friends on the show do. Think of Athena going through her divorce from Michael in s1 and becoming a single mom. Hen’s there for her, but at no point does she become May and Harry’s other parent, or Athena’s partner in raising them, unlike what Buck becomes to Chris and Eddie. They’re fully a family. And they don’t even realize that their bond is so much more intense than a normal friendship. I just love them and I can’t wait for them to realize what they have isn’t simply friendship, and what more they can have as official boyfriends...

What if Seb was a little overworked at some point, and Chris was like, "hey Seb, wanna come hang out at mine in Massachusetts for a couple of days? It’ll do you good to get out of the city for a while and fall in New England is somethin’ else, I promise..." So Seb agreed and they went for long autumnal walks with Dodger and Seb couldn’t help but notice how cute Chris was in his grandpa cardigan, gushing about the trees and their changing leaves and Chris suddenly couldn’t stop noticing how gorgeous Sebastian looked in those cosy knit sweaters and with a healthy flush on his cheeks from all the fresh air, and sometimes their hands would brush while they walked and sparks flew... LOVE THIS 🥺❤️🍂🍁

Fall is absolutely my favorite season - I actually have some autumn-scented candles coming today, so I can pretend it’s not 100 degrees out. And I can imagine Chris and Seb cuddling up on a hayride, or sharing hot apple cider...both of which will happen... :D :D

What do you think the catalyst for Buck and Eddie talking about the shooting will be? I know they touched on it briefly after Eddie's breakdown but I really want them to talk about the moment between Eddie getting shot, Buck covered in his blood, and the eye contact before Eddie's collapse. That felt huge, for both of them, and I just want them to acknowledge that just a little bit.

Oh, it's not just you, I think the whole fandom wants Buck and Eddie to go back to that moment, realize what it meant to them and finally use their words. TBH, there could be so many ways to approach it! Many more than we could possibly hypothesize about, because I think right now, most of our guesses would be based on the events we know had happened between them, but the actual catalyst might be an event we don't yet know will happen in s6. Kinda like how we wanted Eddie to address his trauma, but we didn't know what would get him there would be a combination of being shot and then months later, being taken hostage. Like, even people who guessed one or the other wouldn't have guessed both, right?

But I agree, it did feel huge, and I think sooner or later, they will have to go back and address it. However they get there, though... I just know it will be painfully soft. Like. They will be so tender with each other talking about it, scared to hurt the other guy, that their love for each other will just radiate even just from that...

There's only a few things Steve is good at, art being the best. He can't do much else but he can immortalize scenes, dreams, thoughts, and can bring them to life with a line here or a shade there. His favorite thing to draw though is of Bucky dancing. There's just something about the way his best friend moves that imprints itself in Steve's mind, and if sometimes he draws Steve himself dancing with Bucky, well, no one has to know.

Even after the serum, the Valkyrie, being catapulted into the 21st century, and Loki's invasion, Steve draws Bucky dancing gracefully, his hand reaching out as if asking Steve to join him, and when the ache in his chest is suffocating he draws his hand clasping Bucky's.

He can almost hear Bucky's voice whisper intimately close to his ear, his lips millimetres from his skin, "I'm with you till the end of the line," before seamlessly leading Steve in a dance that keeps them pressed together until Steve feels strong enough to go back to the real world where Fury, Hill, Romanoff and SHIELD await with secrets and the disconnect of being a man out of time.

He stuffs the drawing of Bucky's hand reaching out to him into a shoebox with all the others. He presses a kiss to the lid, as if saying goodbye, and hides the box in the back of his closet. There's a mission Fury has him pairing up with Romanoff and STRIKE to look forward to. Something about the Lemurian Star. He'll draw Bucky again after the mission, maybe he'll be brave this time and sketch him entwining his fingers with Bucky's.

Dayna...... 😭😭😭😭 This kicked me right in the feels. Stabbed me right in the heart. This is so utterly gorgeous and unbearably sad, oh my goodness... If I didn’t know Steve would get his Bucky back soon enough, I’d be crying myself to sleep right about now. Thank you for sharing this beautiful headcanon with us, darling. I love your brain and your writing ❤️
