mischief members cast in starkid shows part 8: a vhs christmas carol
not influenced by accgw, even if the actors may line up with the characters they played in it (which i think only happens twice).
ebenezer scrooge: niall ransome
my habit of casting niall as the main character strikes again. i simply think he has the range.
jacob marley: bryony corrigan
i don't know, marley's kinda mischievous and i think she can pull that off, as well as the more serious moments.
ghost of christmas past: ellie morris
i just think it's a super fun part for her to play and she'd be really great at it.
ghost of christmas present: dave hearn
yeah it's because he's the best dancer of the group, who am i kidding. i also just think he has the fun party vibes.
ghost of christmas future: susan harrison
may seem like an odd choice but i can really imagine her in "the final ghost". i think she could pull off the creepy, mysterious vibes.
bob cratchit: jonathan sayer
he can definitely do the nervous energy (dennis vibes) and i think he'd be good in "priceless". most of my castings for this show were literally just "vibes" so all the reasonings are really short sorry.
emily cratchit: nancy zamit
nancy doing the bit where she gets pissed off about bob toasting scrooge is really clear in my mind. also i think her and jonathan doing these characters would be really funny for some reason.
tiny tim: henry shields
i mainly cast him because i didn't want to break my shields-as-brolden streak (i only decided to cast this show last minute so it's a bit rushed). i think he'd be funny.
young scrooge: joshua elliott
he can do emotional break-up songs ("physically" from ipswich it up, even if it's completely different vibes to "that scrooge") and as i've already mentioned several times, he's really good at these more serious roles. i think he'd be very sweet in the very beginning and then could definitely do the colder nature of "that scrooge".
belle: rhyanna alexander-davis
she's played a couple-that-breaks-up with josh before (singing in the aisles) so we know that works. and i bet she could wreck me emotionally.
fred: harry kershaw
i don't know, just trust me.
fezziwig: greg tannahill
he has fun vibes.
turkey boy: charlie russell
I DON'T KNOWWW YOU'VE JUST GOTTA BELIEVE ME WITH THIS ONE OKAY!

Get Back Up, Don’t Go Rogue
This is my first fic, and some feedback would greatly appreciated. I know that I switch between first and third person a lot, I just find it easier to write in first person. I also apparently don’t know how to change the formatting back now
I’m also very bad with titles, and I don’t think anyone’s actually going to read this. Oh well, at least I can be anonymous and let my somewhat creative side out here.
Word Count: 1,295 words
For as long as I can remember, I have been friends with Team Starkid. When I was seven, my parents took me to see A Very Potter Musical, and the Starkids must have seen something special in me. A year later, I got a call and was asked if I would like to participate in A Very Potter Sequel as Hermione Granger’s sister Roxanne or Roxy. Needless to say, I accepted and got very close to all the cast.
Fast-forward to now, and we were getting ready to go on our second tour, which we named the Apocalyptour. We had already been rehearsing for a while, and tonight was the night of our first show in Chicago. As a ten year old, I guess I should have been more nervous, but I didn’t think that I had anything to worry about. Boy, how wrong I was.
I was dressed in ripped jean shorts, combat boots, a white tank top, with a short sleeve jean jacket, my mic pack hidden under my jacket, and my mic over my ear. I was holding a tiny monkey, and looking at Jamie in curiosity while she read from the “cryptic Mayan tablet”. The next thing I knew, I heard Jim growl into his mic “STARKID”, and let me tell you, I was not prepared for that. I basically backed into Brian Holden and Jamie with genuine fear in my eyes, shaking. Very subtly, Jamie rubbed my arm, but for the rest of the show, I was on edge.
The minute the show ended, I ran off stage, got changed back into my street clothes, and waited for Julia to take me back to the hotel room, while everyone else was going to “have fun” at the hotel bar. What I didn’t realize was that Jamie was going to talk about what happened with me with everyone.
“Hey everyone, did Y/N seem off to you guys earlier during the show? Before ‘Get Back Up’, I think that she was scared of seeing you in costume, Jim, and hearing your character for the first time. I actually felt her shaking when you came on stage after I read from the tablet,” Jamie finished.
“Now I feel bad,” Jim said, hanging his head. “What should we do to cheer her up?” asked Joe, who was still wearing Jamie’s short shorts.
Jamie had a positively evil look in her eye as she explained her plan.
Later that night, around 2:00am, I was awoken by hushed voices around the king-sized bed that I was sharing with Julia, a full size stuffed animal dog, and four beanie babies. I started to turn in my sleep until I crashed into a solid object, which I proceeded to try to hug in my half-awake state. When that object suddenly poked my side however, I let out a mutter of discomfort and started to roll over to my other side. To tell you that my brain took a few minutes to fully comprehend what just happened would be a lie. It took a minute, and by that time, it was too late.
“Well, look at what we have here”, Dylan mocked, as I tried to remember if we were having a sleepover or not.
“Uh, guys, I think she’s still half-asleep, so let’s just cut to the chase,” Julia whispered. “This will be over soon, I promise,” she murmured to me.
Lauren immediately turned on the lights, and I instinctively moved my hands to my eyes to shut out the light, but to my utter shock, found that I couldn’t move my hands or arms at all. I looked up and saw Brian Holden (Brolden) and Meredith each pinning one of my arms to the bed. I lifted my head as much as I could, and saw Dylan and Joey down by my feet, Brian Rosenthal (Brosenthal) and Joe each lightly pressing down on my calves, and Julia (with reluctance in her eyes) and Jim poised above my thighs. I was wondering where Jamie was, when I saw her and Lauren perched on either side of the bed with their fingers resting on my hip and ribs, respectively.
“Ready to kick things up a notch, fellas?” Jamie smirked as she began counting down.
“Wait, what’s happening, no, this is not what I wanttedd to haphpen!” I started to giggle, as they began to tickle me, literally having no idea why this was happening in the first place.
“Really, because I heard that you were on edge tonight, and we need to get your spirits back up,” Lauren chirped as she started counting my ribs.
“Yeah, we wanted to make sure that you knew who was in charge here, and to fear us with every fiber of your being!” Dylan spoke in his “Pincer” voice, laughing as I tried to move my foot away from his wicked fingers.
That, with the combined knee scratches and squeezes Julia was alternating between, Brosenthal spidering my calf, and Joey scratching my heel were enough to drive me crazy, but not at the level of laughter that the cast wanted.
“Thihs kinda feehls nice, but like also amateurs couhld do bethter than this!” I mocked, my laughter going up an octave.
“You want professionals kid? We’ll show you!” I didn’t even need to move my head to hear Jamie’s evil “Neato” voice.
I don’t know what part of me thought this was a good idea, but I decided to be cheeky. “I’m noht scared ohf you! Gihve me youhr worsht!” I cried.
Suddenly, one of my armpits was being poked, and the other was being scratched at. I instinctively bucked my hips and legs upward, and accidentally threw Lauren off of me. If that wasn’t bad enough, Jamie decided to straddle me, and dig into my hips.
“We just wanted to make sure that you don’t fear the almighty ‘Ma’au Guurit’ and her minions” Jim growled as he dug into my right thigh.
“AAAAHHH, what YOHU DHO THAT fohr?” I cackled out, not quite ready to tap out yet, but almost to that point.
“We just wanted to make sure that our prisoner is getting cheered up, and not so scared for the rest of the shows!” Joe smiled as he continued to spider his fingers all over my soles.
“I PROMIHSE TO BE HAHPPY AND LEHESS SCARREDD FROHM NOW ON! UNCLE UNCLE UNCLE!” I shouted, accidentally hitting Brolden’s leg trying to tap out.
“I’hm sorhry that I was scahred of your character,” I let residual giggles out, with a yawn interrupting my sentence.
“Uh, Y/N, can you let me go now?” Meredith questioned, turning to face me just to see that I had fallen asleep.
“Well, I guess we’ll stay here then tonight,” Joey whispered as he got on the floor next to Lauren.
The next day, when I woke up, I was very confused to find the whole cast in the room, but luckily, Julia was already up and had gotten me Starbucks, so I put that thought out my mind.
It wasn’t until I was getting dressed for the show, and Meredith poked my side, that I remembered what had occurred the night before. I decided to go up to Jim, and hug him.
“Sorry for getting scared of your character yesterday,” I mumbled as I hugged him.
“It’s okay, it was your first time hearing me use that voice, and we should have told you earlier, but now we know how to cheer you up if we need to!” He winked at me.
“Or if I’m being annoying,” I smiled as he laughed.
“Let’s go save the world!” I told my fellow Starkids, as the music for Me and My Dick/Ready to Go started.
