I finally finished Brooklyn 99 Season 8. And, I have to say...I was a little disappointed at the final season. It wasn't 'bad' and there were episodes/moments I liked. But the overall season, as a finale, for me personally was just not a great ending to the series. It didn't have the same feel to it as the previous seasons, and I know covid and other issues were ongoing at the time and there was probably a ton going on behind the scenes in regard to production. But even the writing/some character choices they made, just made watching the final season for me to be a bit of a letdown. But that doesn't mean it detracts from the overall series, which I still love and will definitely be doing re-watches of in future. The cast and crew made something truly great and memorable, and the show meant a lot to a lot of people. And I'm glad to have finally capped off the series after putting off watching the later seasons for so long.

🌼 summary: going back to the countryside where you grew up was at the bottom of your list. unexpectedly, your life changes course, and you eventually find your home in weekly village cleaning, the sound of the waves, and with the local jack-of-all-trades, jeon wonwoo.

The words in the letter surprise you. In some ways, it gives you mixed feelings.
Happy, of course, that you’d gotten the job, signed the contract and you could move on from the clinic you’d dedicated over six years to after getting your degree to a larger hospital. It meant a change of pace, change in the people around you, and a step upward in your career.
Sad, that you couldn’t start immediately.
The letter announced the start of your contract to be in three months. But you were already packed up from your previous clinic and ready to move out.
Sitting back on your couch, you scan the letter again. “Commencement of the job will be three months from the date on the letter. Please contact us in the case of any confusion.” You sigh and toss the letter aside, leaning your head back.
Three months. Three months to do anything you wanted. Go on a long-needed vacation, binge-watch all the seasons of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, buy a whole supermarket’s worth of ice cream.. the possibilities were endless.
As you were in your reverie of much-anticipated relaxation, your phone rings.
You pick up, and your uncle’s voice rings out in a cheerful baritone, loud and joyful.
“Y/N!”
“Hi, Uncle.”
“Oh, I haven’t heard from you in a while, dear. How’s everything?”
“Good,” you say, a little awkwardly. “I got a new job.”
“Goodness! How wonderful.” Your uncle seems positively delighted. You clear your throat, and ask quietly, “Why'd you call? Is everything okay?”
“Definitely! We were just calling to ask if you were going back to the countryside this year.” Your uncle says. You freeze slightly. “I know it’s hard with how busy you are. But it’s good to have a break before you continue running off everywhere, you know?”
“But you aren’t living in the countryside anymore, Uncle,” you remind him. “I don’t have anyone to visit.”
“I know,” your uncle says, sighing. “Part of me wishes we stayed, but… oh well. That’s life. You have to move on from something.”
You stay quiet.
“But enough about us! Maybe try to go back at least once.” Your uncle says again. “Eat well, have a good rest… some sea air would be great for you. Call me if you need anything.”
“I will, Uncle. You too. Send my love to Aunt.”
With a cheery farewell, the call ends. You take a deep breath and try to recall the last time you went home to the countryside for a short visit three years ago.
Your aunt’s fragrant chicken soup. Your uncle’s over-interest in your knowledge about a shoe brand he liked. Your cousin’s feeble attempts to get freebies from when you did a checkup on the child of the owner of a popular makeup brand. Laughter, togetherness, the feeling of finally having someone to come home to.
But there would be no internet, no socialising. No fine dining, no external staff for the cleaning and dirty work you didn’t like. No polished floors, air conditioning wherever you went.
It was a win-lose.
Yet the feeling of not going back irked you, an emotion you couldn't place.
Five minutes. Ten minutes as you considered your situation.
Three months to do whatever you liked.
After a power struggle with your mind, you sat up, inhaling deeply and then letting it go. A day trip. You could spare a day trip visiting your old home, before you came back to reality, where you should be, instead of reminiscing on memories long past.
You were going home, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine would have to wait.

You hate it here.
Your heels dig into the rough gravel as you step out of your car. A bad choice to wear Louboutins, you surmise, as you reach into the backseat for your bag.
You had decided to go to the beach, before maybe grabbing a bite at a cafe, taking some pictures in a weak attempt to relive your childhood memories, before the one-hour-fifteen-minute drive home. It wasn't as if you were here to visit anyone, you reasoned to yourself as you picked your way through the old country road you remembered all too well -- there was absolutely no need to stay any longer than you had to.
Besides, after the abrupt death of your parents in a car accident midway through your diploma, you had sworn to leave the moment you could, the memories of two people who would never return sitting heavily on you.
And that was what you had done, a mere two months after receiving a full university scholarship. You had left and never looked back since.
Nostalgia rushes through you as you find a less sandy and hot spot and sit down, careful not to get any sand into your precious heels. The beach is mostly empty, save for a few people swimming, surfing, or having a family day out. Your gaze goes out to sea, hugging your legs to yourself.
You silently hype yourself up. No more sad memories. You didn't have time for that. You would take this chance to wallow for a bit, and then you would look forward. Better things were coming for you.
A full thirty minutes pass before you feel yourself about to combust. You get up, wincing at the roughness of the sand on your hands. As a kid, you loved the beach. But it was different now. You were a grown-up, and grown-ups don't soak in self-pity. Or sand.
You struggle back on to solid land, deciding to get a quick coffee at a small cafe before leaving. As you approach a store with the large sign reading 'Hwang's Coffee Corner', you reach for the aged, wooden door and pull it open.
The cafe smells not of coffee, but of a soft, vanilla-like aroma from a scented candle nearby. A middle-aged woman sitting at the counter humming to trot music looks up. Your instincts, long honed by long rides on lifts and shopping trips, force an up-down look at her as she stands to welcome you. Thick, curly, and unstyled hair held back with a purple headband, too-pink lipstick, an old blue dress, worn-out sandals.
You force yourself to ignore the judgmental comment at the tip of your tongue and grit out a barely-there hello. The woman smiles, big and unrestricted, introduces herself as Ms Hwang, the owner, and asks for your order.
"Just a latte, please."
"Got that!" Ms Hwang chirps, and you cringe at how loud her voice is, ringing in the silence of the cafe.
You fish in your bag for your wallet, deciding to just get a takeaway cup instead, and you pull out your credit card.
Ms Hwang shakes her head, "We only take cash."
Your face burns as you look back up at the woman. "Um..sorry. I don't have cash on me."
Her eyebrows shoot up. "What?"
"I only have credit cards."
"Oh. Well, it won't be of much use. The card machine hasn't been working for a while anyway, we only take cash." Ms Hwang's tone is slightly dismissive, as she taps away on the cashier screen.
Your face drops. What place doesn't take credit cards now?
Turns out the question was said out loud and not in your head. Ms Hwang looks up, eyes slightly wide at the intrusive question.
"What are you trying to say?" Her voice isn't that of the friendly lady-next-door anymore and has a sharpness to it. You sigh in mild irritation and reply. "Forget it. I'll try to get cash first."
"No, you won't! Explain what you meant. Are you trying to say this store is outdated?" The woman seems to be getting agitated, and you really don't want to have a conflict in the middle of this god-forsaken town right now.
"No, I-"
"Oh, Wonwoo!" The angry owner suddenly exclaims to someone who just entered the cafe, the bell above the door announcing their arrival. "Help me over here! This lady thinks the cafe is outdated just because she doesn't have cash and can't pay!"
You roll your eyes and turn around, ready to defend your case to the next person who is clearly going to take her side after her accusation.
Everything you were going to say flies right out of the window when you see him.
Clean-cut, damp, dark brown hair, strong and defined eyebrows that are currently raised at the unfolding situation, and deep-set eyes. Dressed in a simple flannel outerwear with a T-shirt and jeans, glasses perched on his sharp nose bridge, he looks every bit like a local heartthrob. You subconsciously recall your outfit.
But this heartthrob is currently striding in behind the counter, next to Ms Hwang, and raising his eyebrows at you in mild disapproval.
"You really shouldn't have said that." His voice is deep and rich. You snap yourself back to the present moment, and begin to protest hotly. "I said nothing of the sort! I only hold cards in my wallet, and she said that cards wouldn't work since the machine was broken. And that's strange, isn't it? Every place takes cards now-"
"Strange?" The man- Wonwoo, you remember, interrupts, head tilting in curiousity as he surveys you. "Strange how?"
You huff impatiently. Seriously, does no one here know the wonders of credit card transactions?
"Go to any shop in the city. I'll bet you anything they take cards-"
"This isn't the city, miss," he shrugs. "Most stores here usually take cash. And you should probably be carrying cash around with you anyway."
You sigh, massaging your temples. "Look, this is getting more complicated than it has to be, alright? I'll get some cash first, and-"
"How do I know you're not a swindler?" Ms Hwang cuts in, narrowing her eyebrows.
You sigh. She's not easy, that much you've figured out. You didn't even get the coffee, and she's already making a big fuss.
"I can leave my bag with you while I'm at it." You shrug the handbag off your shoulder, wincing internally when your beloved Marc Jacobs lands on the aged wooden counter. Ms Hwang immediately descends upon it, glaring at you.
"All this for a coffee?" Wonwoo asks, bemused, as he runs his hands through his hair.
"I'm proving that I'm not a con job, mister." You glare at him. "I don't even need the coffee, forget it!"
He shrugs, half-amused by your outburst. "Okay then, Miss Not-Con-Job. Hope you get the cash."
───✱.。:。✱.:。✧.。✰──────✱.。:。✱.:。✧*.。✰ ───
The waves are large today, Wonwoo muses as he hoists his surfing board out to the water and mounts it, careful to tuck his glasses away. Before long, he's soaring and cruising, sea air hitting his face in a cooling spray.
Humming to himself, he gets to his feet easily on the board, and sways with the water's direction.
This is life, he sighs out in relief. As his gaze crosses the beach he loves so dearly, of the laughing children and fond parents, he catches sight of a woman. Sitting all alone, hugging her legs to herself as she gazes out at the very sea he's cruising through.
No one should look sad in a place as beautiful as this, he thinks. And while his view keeps on wandering across the villagers' familiar faces, across the infinite span of the sea, he finds that his eyes, too, keep going back to her.

Captain Marvel (Shazam) and the Justice League Funny Idea
So
Y'all know the hit show Brooklyn Nine-Nine, right? And how they have a thing called a "Halloween Heist" episode that happens every season or so, right?
Good. Because that's all I know from the show. Anyway! Seeing clips on YouTube about it got me thinking
What if the Justice League did something similar? Just for fun in their down time while they're not out saving the world or helping little old ladies cross the street. Maybe some members would do it. But what would be a good incentive or prize to motivate them to play?
How about each member pools in what they could give as a prize?
Superman promises to gift fresh baked cookies by his mom
Black Canary promises doing their share of monitor duty
Other members promise other cool things, favors, etc. A good chunk of members are interested in playing, but not all. Batman still refuses to play, calling it childish
But
When it's Captain Marvel's turn to state what he's offering on the table for the winner, everyone's heads turn and can't believe what they just heard. Captain Marvel promised that he would reveal his secret identity to whoever wins.
Everyone is in an uproar and signing up to play. Batman included. He even gets his batfam to join the game. A lot of other members, too, are getting their sidekicks, friends and prodigies into the game.
Captain Marvel, the most extroverted and yet most private member of the league has never offered any information of his private life in the past four years he's been on the team, and now there's finally a chance to learn more about him
THROUGH A GAME?!?!
The Watchtower rioted that night and Captain Marvel began to regret his decision...

A long day led to a long week, snowballing into a long, long festive season. Being part of a polyamorous relationship dynamic with Bucky and Steve came with both its challenges and its blessings, in equal measures and abundances.
One thing, however, always threw you for a loop. It was how mischievous and sly the two of them were, especially when they compiled their scheming ways to pull off a plan.
The group messages were the highlight of the afternoon, as well as a pleasant, happy escape from the absolute chaos that was your shop — it seemed everybody and their grandmother was in need of a bouquet or help with something, and by no means were you going to turn them down.
You worked harder than ever before, and when it was finally time to lock up your haven for the night and head over to Quartet Ink, a sigh fell from your lips. Exhaustion weighed heavily on your mind, body, and soul, all aspects of cheeriness long dashed.
The boys had promised you sanctuary and an overwhelming number of hugs and the comfort that came with them — the two things you needed desperately.
Your shoes crunched over the sidewalk, the ladened snow piled against the buildings that lined one side, and your breath puffed in a misted fog — the cold Brooklyn winter was never kind to the flora.
The lights in Quartet Ink blazed yellow over the pavement, and you pushed open the door with a grunt of effort, and you were enveloped by the warmth of their castle.
“Petal! Hey, sweetheart,” Bucky called, his voice far away. You turned around from the door to find him at the other end of the shop, standing behind a gigantic printer that was whirring loudly. Before you could say anything in return, the papers in his hands were slapped down onto the table beside him, and he jogged over to envelop you in a hug. “How’s our pretty girl, huh?”
“Tired,” you mumbled and wrapped your arms around his strong back. “So, so tired.”
Bucky clicked his tongue. “‘M so sorry, baby—c’mon, let’s get you a warm drink while we wait for Stevie.”
His hand rested on the small of your back as he guided you to the plushest couch in their waiting area, and he grabbed a blanket — the fluffiest, softest one you had ever seen; the very same one they bought at your favourite store just for you for when you visited — before he wrapped it tightly around your shoulders and tucked it under your thighs.
“There y’are, all snug,” he murmured. The press of his lips on your forehead made your stomach flutter. “I’ll be back in a flash.” The heavy boots he wore thumped quietly over the wooden floor as he retreated to the refreshment booth.
A few moments passed while he was out of sight; quiet clinks and shuffles the only give away that he was still tinkering away. “Do you want sugar–? Wait, who am I kiddin’, you’re sweet enough, you don’t need no more.”
A snort of laughter bubbled in your throat, and Bucky peered around the corner. “I’m not talkin’ shit,” he said as he pointed a spoon at you. “You’re sweet, an’ cute, an’ adorable–”
“We get the picture, babe,” Steve said suddenly, and the back door chime rang with his voice. “Which is why I brought these.” In his hand was a bag, full to the brim with all kinds of confectionery. “Can never deprive our girl of treats.”
“Very fuckin’ true.”
Steve sank down onto the couch next to you and put his arm around your shoulders, pulling you close against his side. “You doin’ okay, doll?”
You blinked sleepily at him, but you smiled. There was no way you couldn’t not smile when they doted on you. “Yeah, I’m okay.”
There was a quiet thump in front of you. “Here you go, baby,” Bucky said, and he moved around the table to sit on your other side. “Before you drink up, Stevie and I have somethin’ for you…”
“What–?” Confusion made your brain grind to a halt — there had been no allusion to a surprise in their texts when they told you to come over after you closed up. “What do you mean?”
“Well, it’s–” Steve paused, licking his lips nervously. You noticed that the both of them were fidgeting with the cuffs of the long-sleeved shirts, on the left side. “It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a little while, if we’re bein’ honest. You see… We knew, when you said yes to us that day, that this was somethin’ special.”
The memory of sitting on the very same couch you were on right now, all that time ago, when they asked you out on a date played on a loop in your mind — the nerves and the sheer overwhelming attention of them very well prominent to this day.
It made your stomach know with a mounting sense of apprehension.
“What this punk is tryin’ to say, Petal,” Bucky began, and he grabbed hold of your hand, his thumb brushing delicately over the skin of your knuckles. “Is that we did somethin’ we felt was right—even if it’s so soon, we don’t care.” He looked to Steve, bright, blue eyes shining with emotion. “Ready?”
Steve nodded. In tandem, their right hands grabbed the cuff of their left sleeves, and pulled upwards, exposing the once bare skin of their forearms.
The reveal of what lay under the fabric made you choke on a sob, both utter shock and awe warred in your mind.
Along the skin of their wrists, within the maze of the other tattoos that decorated their skin, was the flower of your birth — tucked up against your absolute favourite Disney character. The artwork was indescribably theirs, fine lines and swoops of colour that would leave a painter of the Renaissance envious.
You couldn’t gather the words to express just what it meant to you; what it felt like to see such artistry for you — of you — on their skin.
“Oh, doll,” Steve whispered, and he shook you gently. “No tears, honey—it’s alright.”
The sudden wetness on your cheeks shocked you. “Oh– Shit, I’m sorry–”
“No apologisin’ either,” Bucky warned, and he kissed your cheek, his lips collecting and stopping the trail that threatened to fall down onto your lap. “We love you—you’re our girl, our Petal, and we wanted you with us.”
“Boys–” A hiccup interrupted the flow of words that threatened to burst free. “I just– Oh, fucking hell, I love you both so much.” You met their gazes, eyes flickering between the blue grey of Bucky’s and the ocean blue of Steve’s; desperately pouring out all of what you felt into a single look.
They didn’t answer with words — they only held you tight.

Prelims, Vote 8 of 8
The top 5 finales will move on to be included in the main bracket
Propaganda is under the cut, may include spoilers
Brooklyn Nine-Nine - 8.09 / 8.10 The Last Day
It just... season 8 had been so bad as a whole, it attempted to touch on the blm movement and did it in an okay at best way and in the wake of it all, i think a lot of people just weren't here for cop shows. The finale tried to bring the magic back with one last heist and it did pull out all the stops but I don't know, it just left me feeling really cold. And the ending being that even though the main character wasn't a cop anymore, that he would return to the station every year for the heist... it just never escapes the cop narrative even after he's left.
Chén Qíng Lìng/The Untamed - Episode 50
I nominate this final on grounds of CCP information control, censorship and homophobia. They were so scared of the power of wangxian that they ended up banning ao3 in china and in the show they have to inexplicably have them part ways just to hammer home the no-homo. Plus the show is just kind of objectively bad.... but it rewires your brain all the same
Community - 6.13 Emotional Consequences of Broadcast Television
ok i haven’t watched it in a while but it wasn’t the episode’s fault this show had been going downhill for a while. The finale put it out of its misery mostly.
Kyle XY - 3.10 Bringing Down the House
The writers knew they were getting canceled and chose to raise more questions than answers and set up cliffhangers, rather than have a satisfying end. I'm sure it was a last ditch effort to save the show, but it didn't work and now it's just a bad finale.
Northern Exposure - 6.22 Let's Dance / 6.23 Tranquility Base
No propaganda submitted
Ozark - 4.14 A Hard Way to Go
No propaganda submitted
Soul Eater - 1.51 The Word Is Bravery!
ugh god it just gave up on any attempt at character development or the ending of the story in any meaningful way. instead of a complex universe journey exploring her bond with soul, and death the kid becoming the new god of death, maka just...wins the day by 'being brave', extremely underwhelming and borderline nonsensical
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - 7.25 / 7.26 What You Leave Behind
Man so okay like it’s not the worst worst one out there but man they really just fuckikg did that. Found family all went and spread themselves across the quadrant with the head of the show the leader, Captain Benjamin Sisko who really just wanted to live on Bajor, got turned into an incorporeal being who could no longer live a linear life while his wife and unborn child had to go on without him. They didn’t even have him saying goodbye to his actual son. His literal son did not get a goodbye, they only gave that to Kasidy, and no hate to Kasidy, she’s my girl, but she’s only been there for three year while his actual son Jake sisko was still basically a kid. He was like 19, 20 and no goodbye fork his dad he’s lost time and time again. Some characters got a satisfying ending but then Julian Bashir is left to stay on deep space nine supposedly still in love with Ezri Dax and together (but let’s be honest, it was a terrible forced decision. They made no sense, and had no chemistry) and still stuck without moving forward or changing. Like what a cop out. Not to mention the terrible cgi fire caves where literally gods got thrown into a fire pit and that was the big climax

Current Tag Game
Tagged by my dear friends/mutuals/incoherent scream sesh partners @twig-tea (here), @colourme-feral (here), @blmpff (here), @telomeke (here) and @waitmyturtles (here)
Current Time: nearly 5:00 PM
Current activity: Doomscrolling on social media (not recommended), writing this post (highly recommended, please interact on Tumblr, that's what makes this hellsite fun!)
Currently thinking about: Just watched the IFYLITA finale this morning with my bestie @lurkingshan, so my brain is currently ??????-ing all the different iterations of Yai we got to see (I like that Commander Yai looks more self-assured and confident than our widdle-20-something-lost-and-confused-baby Yai, but, DEAR LORD, The Mustache has to go. Just.. nope. Get that man a razor, STAT). Oh, and also, thinking about dinner.
Current favourite song: I recently watched Utsukushii Kare / My Beautiful Man (Season 1) a few days ago and I have the song from the opening credits stuck in my head on repeat: Caramel / カラメル by Mosawo / もさを。(Original MV with English captions)
(I'm also gonna link the Utsukushii Kare Lyric MV from MBS because I want Kiyoi's pretty face on my post)
youtube
I've also been feeling nostalgic lately and listening to some decade-old bangers from my teen years (ah time, thou art a cruel wench)
Patakha Guddi lyrics, translated from Hindi, here
Mogathirai lyrics, translated from Tamil, here
Currently reading: Nothin' but meta posts from the lovely big-brained folks of Tumblrville
Currently watching: Oooooh. I actually wrapped up a lot of live watches and caught up on some incredible shows last week, so lemme do 3 mini-lists:
Recently Watched: Only Friends, Utsukushii Kare / My Beautiful Man, If It's With You / Kimi to Nara Koi wo Shite Mite mo, I Feel You Linger In The Air
Currently Watching: Midnight Diner / Shinya Shokudo, endless reruns of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Community
Next-Up on the Watchlist: I Cannot Reach You / Kimi ni wa Todokanai, Shadow, Dark Blue Kiss, Middleman's Love, Last Twilight, Playboyy, The Whisperer
Current favourite character: Ryuji from If It's With You.
< mild spoilers ahead for If It's With You >
This show did an incredible job portraying two people who have different levels/intensities of desire for one another and I was *floored* when Ryuji responded to Amane's confession in episode 4 with so much care, thoughtfulness and respect for both Amane's desire and his own boundaries. "Please make it one sided for a while" will live in my head rent free for the foreseeable future.
And Amane and Ryuji's conversation at the beach in the finale was another heartfelt and expertly written moment. I deeply adore how Ryuji basically went "I miss you and want to meet you whenever I feel like it, and if that means being a lover, then so be it. Let's date".
So yeah, I'm in love with this highly articulate, fictional, Japanese teenage boy
Current WIP: Ohhhhh man, SO MANY. The most pressing one is a retrospective meta on the Only Friends finale, which I must release into the wild before people move on from the show
Tags: I'm epically late to this one, so I might tag folks who have already done this, so if I do, apologies, friends!
@bengiyo, @italianpersonwithashippersheart, @sunshinechay, @syrena-del-mar, @ranchthoughts, @troubled-mind, @sorry-bonebag, @so-much-yet-to-learn and anyone else who wants to participate. No presh!

Full Moon Music.
We’ve always featured darkness since our very first broadcast on Omega WUSB. By our fourth show, we came close in completing our first full-fledged darkness set in a more dis-organized era when we were still trying to figure ourselves out. Back then, ‘darkness’ meant any amount of well-known industrial, metal, and electronic acts with an evil, deviant, or negative tinge to it. Think Throbbing Gristle, Clock DVA, Whitehouse, Godflesh, NON, and etcetera. We finally achieved full force during a bonus summer broadcast (#21) and since then things evolved in how we did those shows. We’ve made a point in doing at least one but no more than two of these dark broadcasts per year, usually in the winter as it’s the best weather, and that’s not including the Halloween broadcasts we’ve done. That’s a whole other class in itself.
It wasn’t until November 2017 when I attended Hospital Productions’ 20th anniversary, a night I’ll never forget. It was the culmination of nine months of benefits and stay-at-home recovery from three life-saving shoulder surgeries. It felt so good being in my element in Brooklyn (Greenpoint) with all the industrialists, goth girls, and noise aficionados dressed in black. Ten hours of paying personal tributes to Dominick Fernow and his label made me realize there was more to look forward to. It’s something never experienced on Long Island, and don’t even get me started with what that “culture” consists of.
That event left a lasting impression on me. If the label had its’ magic on me with Cocaine Death, then I was totally mystified with its’ own showcase. Even everything surrounding it - the train rides, playlists, playbacks, the weather - felt significant to me. And then some. The following month, Omega WUSB opened up the winter broadcasting season / year with more Hospital Productions and Sacred Bones music to air. Both of those labels had their 20th and 10th label anniversaries respectively and we loved what they’ve released. Philip Best’s Alien Existence and a shipment of RRRecords’ cassettes and vinyl arrived at the residence; both which made me feel proud of myself. By Year Six, Omega WUSB was more focused in playing darkwave, synthwave, soundscapes, and even witch house. As the colder months progressed, I discovered a Brooklyn goth girl who followed me and liked my posts on the regular. She was that rare person I really identified with and gave me a serious run for my money like no other.
Through all the euphoric ups, heartbreaking downs, and greyscale steadies, the show must go on. The events of Hospital Productions and identification still surround me. They are a reminder of who I am, where I’m from, what I look forward to, and who I associate with. The darkness broadcasts still go strong and we look forward in doing them like you wouldn’t believe. By now, Omega WUSB has been more organized. Of all the different genres we play, we make it a point to do these dedicated darkness sets when the weather’s suitable and as long as the music’s current. Aside from that, we still run dedicated bonus (and even our one-and-only deluxe Leap Day) noise shows and we aim to make all of our other goth rock, black metal, classic industrial, minimal, and other midnight finds when and where applicable. All of our listeners know that organizing at least 15 different genres and making them all fit is a challenge.
This past winter, we aired one broadcast of dark electronics from Avon Terror Corps and the L.I.E.S. label, doom metal, no-tech, and some textural noise. Somehow we fell into the rabbit hole of darkwave, synthwave, minimal, and EBM and we’ve had enough for a great three-hour idea. With WUSB’s ethos of independent radio and our ethos of everything new, current, and relevant, we had a case to go off-the-board.
Here’s what I / we’ve been feeling and experiencing for the past four winters. This soundtrack supplements the pristine spectre of full moons and constellations in the clear frigid black skies, plus all the positive events that still stays with me make for a distinct spell I can call my own. No Wax Trax, no Bauhaus, The Cure, The Cramps, Siouxsie Sioux, or Depeche Mode. No doubt they’re all legends, but not every tracklist or mix has to be that way. Everything found here is current and on a different level. If at any time I need to get myself up, I’ll reach back to this and know I’ll come back to something I can call what’s mine.

Finished Brooklyn Nine-Nine
I just watched the series finale and it was so good. Yes, seasons 5 - 8, felt a little off and took some getting used to.
But they were still good. I enjoyed all the family moments, and the different pairings of friendships. It was so good, and I'm actually a little sad to have finished it.
😭😭

Thank you for tagging me @narisz !! ❤️❤️❤️
Favourite colour: Besides black, I'm really into deep turquoise right now.
Last song: Blessed Be by Spiritbox 😍
Last movie/TV show: Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Fucking hilarious, though some of the jokes have aged poorly.)
Next on my watch list: Either House of the Dragon or finishing up the last couple seasons of HBO's His Dark Materials.
Last game: These days I watch the hubby play while I knit. Last game he finished was Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Currently on Elden Ring. Last game I myself played was Hogwarts Legacy (I know...I know. Fuck JKR and bring on the hate.)
Sweet/savoury/spicy: EVVVERYTHINGGG. I'm a sucker for a thoughtful sweet/savory blend. Like salted caramel or chocolate cheddar. (Trader Joe's sold that for a while and it was awesome.)
Relationship status: Happily Married and it's complicated :)
Last online search: How Brooklyn Nine-Nine is spelled out.
Current obsession: Still the Silmarillion/the rest of the Legendarium. Currently trudging through LOTR for the first time 😅 and I do intend to finish it! New mini-fixation right now is total solar eclipses; already excitedly planning for the 2045 one!
Greatest flaw: Definitely my overuse of emoji Probably my people-pleasing.
If you feel like it my dears @rufyshinra @dontclimbonthat @keyknows @ofstarlightandbows @transsexualhamlet @ughtumno
